try to get your TC's in $50 dollar cheques as these can even be used more easily as "cash"

We had loads of $100 travellers cheques and notes and never had a problem using them. We did think carefully before using them and tried to use them only when spending more than $30 - probably wouldn't go down too well if you tried changing it up for a $2.50 bottle of water!
