I was getting ready for bed and had already taken off my glasses. I realized that I didn't take my vitamin so I headed off to the kitchen, reached into the fridge, and poured out about 1/4 glass of Crystal Light.

Or so I thought.

What I poured was Kool Aid. You should have seen how fast I tried to spit out that sugar water. I probably ended up with half a swallow of kool aid, but I immediately started freaking out about going out of ketosis.

I've officially gone off the diet deep end. :)

LOL!!!! Don't worry sweetie...I have been there a million times. I will pick up my glass of diet rootbeer take a swig and realize that its my son's regualr rootbeer. BLAH!

I swear...losing weight would be sooo much eaiser if I could just go live in a studio apartment somewhere for about 5 months with no Kids and no DH around to worry about!!! LOL

Of course I am teasing...but it would be helpful!!

I doubt that teeny bit of sugar did any damage, Jen. I know how you felt, though. Not because I've accidentally taken a taste of anything with sugar but because I have nightmares about doing stuff like that.

It's true, I have bad dreams on a regular basis and so does my husband. Anyone not trying to lose weight probably wouldn't think they were bad dreams but they are nightmares for me.

I've dreamed that I thought I was eating a carbolite bar and it was actually Hersheys dark chocolate with sugar, I've dreamed that I ate what I thought was chicken battered with parmesan cheese and find out it was dredged with flour. I've dreamed that I'm eating a low carb muffin but find out it's a regular muffin.

My husband had a terrible dream two nights ago, that he was eating a plate of corn, green peas and mashed potatoes. Once he dreamed that he drank a real Dr. Pepper.

It's kind of funny how upsetting these dreams are, I wonder why we do that--dream about eating foods we aren't supposed to eat and then get so upset ? They are only dreams but it is such a relief to awaken and reassure myself that I did not knock myself out of ketosis.

I wonder if this is a sign that we truly have internalized the principles of the Atkins nutritional plan? We have taken this as a lifetime eating plan, I hope that's what it means.

Kath...at least your irrational fears are dreams...mine are happening in real life....I will go to a resturant and order Diet coke...take a sip...and then Panic about it being regular coke..what if the waitress messed up...(now I know I can tell the difference....but)...I get soo freaked out. My DH now just orders me a iced tea!!! It is alot less stressfull. LOL

PS..I do that with salad dressings too....I am always afraid that their are hidden sugars in the blue cheese...so I usually just use a little bit when eating out!!

I know I am not rational sometimes...but hey I am still getting used to living without my carbs!!

I've jumped into the deep end with you!!! I make mashed potatoes & carbs for my family w/their dinner & I have come so close to licking my finger.
I RUN to the sink & wash my hands. I think that's a bit obsessed.

lol - at least I'm not the only one who has gone crazy!

No dreams for me yet, but come fall and mashed potatoes season and I'll be having nightmares.
