I've heard good things about Boma at AKL, and I'm curious to try something different. However, we have 4 children...10 (very picky eater), 8, 6, and 3. Of course, they all like different things. My question is then, do you think my kids will enjoy dinner there? Is there enough selection that children can find something they like?

When I was there they had a childrens buffet with Spaghetti, macaroni and Cheese and a couple other items. I tasted them and they were all decent and not different which kids seem to like. There are also some items on the other buffets that they might like to try and then there is the dessert buffet which I think they would be quite happy to partake in! ;)

If you are looking for something different I would try it. We love the place and our kids also love the place. For sure your kids will love the deserts, they are just great.

Boma is on my kids much do list. They love it. They are not picky (not allowed in my house). They will try anything and like most things. My 10 year old loves salmon and broccoli. My 14 year old is a liver fan. They love to try all the new dishes but we always save room for Zebra Domes.

I think your kids will be fine at Boma. They have a section of "kid friendly" food, and last time we were there I remember it having Mac & Cheese and Chicken Fingers and a couple of other items I can't remember. And they'll probably love the desserts (as will the Adults).

Your kids will be just fine there. They have a nice selection of kid friendly foods and the desserts are out of this world. Remember to visit the animale either before or after dinner.

Not allowed in my house either! That can actually be a double-edged sword because when we go out to an expensive restaurant, they refuse to eat off the kids menu and boy, it can be expensive . Anyway, I'm glad you gave Boma a good review because I've been considering adding it to our "must dos." Thanks.:D

Thanks for all your replies! I think we will try it. I just didn't want to spend the $$ if the kids would not eat anything...but sounds like they'll definitely find SOMETHING to their liking. Can't wait to see the desserts you all have been talking about!

It was never allowed in our house either and as a result my kids liked good, healthy food and also liked many different types of food and different cuisines. Not to criticize anyone but it has always amazed me how some families allow the kids to use food as such a power struggle! Waste of time, energy and more importantly creates kids with very shallow and limited eating habits, IMO.
It was more expensive to pay for adult entrees vs the junk off the kids menus but I never minded. First of all most times there was enough food for them to split one adult entree between 2 kids, plus they were eating healthy. decent food. I was always more than glad to pay for adult entrees for them. Now they are both adults and boy do they have excellent taste in many types of foods, and now it is really expensive to take them out to dinner! LOL!
