I've been eating 1/2 cup day = 10gms of carbs. They are so yummy! I'd take fresh cherries over a piece of cherry pie anyday.
My brother has a couple of cherry trees that produce the best cherries, I'm going to have to take a ride off Cape again:D
What's your favorite fruit of the season?
WATERMELON!!
I could eat a whole watermelon in one sitting. I usually just buy the already chopped up (seedless) stuff though, I'm not lazy, just making better use of my time...yeah, that's the ticket!
Love a fruit salad with really sweet watermelon, YUM!!!

Michigan cherries and Texas watermelon are my favorites. I have to be very careful with both but I love them.

Yummm..I just bought some bing cherries at the grocery store! I also got some raspberries, blueberries and strawberries and thought I'd make a berry salad. It cost me a small fortune but I thought it'd be a nice treat!

Mangos!!!! Unfortunately, they are super high in carbs! Lots of sugar! So, I'm happy with mixed berries, topped with whipping cream!

They were so good I just thought back to my childhood. Climbing the cherry tree at my Grandmother's and eatting more than I brought down for my older sister who was afraid to climb.
Last night I went to CVS to get some stuff and picked up some milk. Turned around to have Hostess frit pies staring me in the face! How tempted was I? I picked up the cherry only to flip it over & see it had 65g of carbs!!!!! Blueberry had 70!!!!!
As yummy as they may be I just can't see eatting almost a weeks worth of carbs in one snack. I just walked away.......
I'm so glad it's summer and there are so many feesh fruits available.

Oh, that's a tough one. I love fresh pineapple. Can't resist blueberries. We had some cherries last week and I treated myself to a few...they were sooooo yummy I had a hard time stopping. Strawberries are a weakness too. I would eat any and all of these over cakes and pies if given the choice. I've noticed my idea of a treat has changed since starting Atkins. I'd much rather have some fresh fruit over anything else.

I agree, I'm much more tempted to overindulge with fresh fruit instead of sweets on Atkins. It took a while to get to that point though, I never thought I'd stop those sugar cravings.

Blueberries, hands down.
But only a certain kind will make me overindulge....Mr. Martin's blueberries from Columbia Station, Ohio! :)
He was our mail carrier growing up, his wife was my first grade teacher and remains my mother's best friend! They have a large blueberry farm which draws people from all over the state. Mr. Martin spends HOURS and HOURS a day pruning, watering, fertilizing and (probably) talking to his bushes each day. His blueberries are the largest, most flavorful I've ever seen or eaten! When I share them with people they are amazed at the size and flavor!! In fact, my kids will ONLY eat Mr. Martin's blueberries! They cannot eat those bought in a grocery store--they complain they taste and feel like sand. They are right!
How do I know I overindulge? Uh...well, when I used to pick there as a kid, I'd have, ummm...let's say "smurf poop" the next day! :) They owners used to threaten to weigh me on the way in and the way out! I've learned to pace myself a little better!
Unfortunately, Mr. and Mrs. Martin are in their mid-80's now and Mr. Martin is having some dementia problems. I don't think the blueberry farm is going to get the same TLC once he leaves.
It's almost blueberry season!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
