Okay I'm finally back to the boards. I've made the journal rounds and now on to mine. Thanks for all the good vibes for the job but unfortunately I didn't get it. However, she does want me to contact her after I take the bar b/c there might be an opportunity for me then. Oh well, I'll just get to work on my tan while working at the orchard this summer.
I'm not counting points this week. I was out of town Sun and Mon and didn't count them so I'm just taking the week off. I do plan on exercising and getting my water in but not counting points. I doubt I'll lose this week but I"ll be happy with maintaining. So far I walked half mile monday, about a mile tuesday and 2 miles today.
I got a new kitten on monday. We named him Roo. I'll post some pictures of him later tonight or tomorrow. He's only 3 months old and so cute. The other cats aren't excited about him yet but they don't hate him either.
Sharon - I posted in your journal but I also just thought that sometimes you need to eat all or almost all your flex to lose so definitely try eating more to see if that helps.

A new kitty!!! I bet he's adorable!! Those furbabies of ours really are amazing, aren't they??
Steph, good for you for knowing you need a week off. I like that you've decided on a week off - not "I'll get back OP when I feel like it" - it's like a vacation from point-counting with a definite end date and you're prepared for the potential consequences with the scale. I just know that you'll be right back on plan next week! I did the same thing a month ago and I really think it helped my attitude!
Sorry about the job - it sounded so perfect. However, you never know when something better may come along! I'll keep you in my prayers.

Doreen - thanks for keeping me in your prayers. I know that something else is out there for me and I just have to be patient. Dan also told me that I should be getting a free swim club membership from the orchard since it will be my second summer there. I love to swim.
Okay do any of you have those days where you just want to exercise a whole lot? Today is one of those for me. I walked 2 miles this morning and I just finished walking another 2. The shipment today at work was light so I didn't get tired out like I usually do. I guess it helps that I have a good book to read.
Oh my, I just saw a commercial for Rainbow Brite dolls. It really isn't the 80's again is it? I just loved her when I was younger. I had dolls and sheets for my canopy bed and curtains and all sorts of Rainbow Brite stuff.
As promised here are some pictures of my new little furbaby Roo. He has helped me write this message as well but he's not so good with the typing and spelling. These were taken last night with Dan's camera phone so they aren't too great. The next roll of film I get developed will have plenty of great pics though to put in my kitty scrapbook.

first off, i know i'm late, but congrats on that new clippie :jumping1:
and also, i'm sorry about the job. but you really seem to have a positive attitude about it! i'm very glad about that :). the orchard sounds like a lot of fun, plus tanning and free pool...definitely nice :smooth:
and yes, i think we are returning to the 80s!! all this stuff definitely reminds me of my childhood! not only rainbow brite (who i also loooooved :teeth: ), but how bout the resurgence of care bears??? kinda weird, but kinda cool at the same time :)
looks like we both took the same week off from counting points. i'm trying to make good decision, i hope you are too :). it really is like a mini vacation, but i think i'm really looking forward to getting back into my normal groove.
the new kitty is adorable! hope the other kitties learn to love him as much as you do :lovestruc

Hi Steph, sorry to hear about the job, but I know there will be more opportunities for you.
I was supposed to check in with you on Monday, but as always things have been hectic. Congratulations on your 60 lb. clippie, wow!
Your cat looks adorable, what a nice addition to your family. Take care and have a good weekend if I don't talk to you again before next week.:D

Your kitty is so cute!
I just wanted to pop in and tell you to have a great weekend and keep up the good work! 2 extra miles is wonderful!

Little Roo has a cold so I've been tending to a sick kitty. Hopefully his medicine will make him feel better.
Yesterday I walked 1 mile and today I walked another mile.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

First of all, let me say "Congratulations, on Kitty Roo!" Then let me say, "Poor Baby Roo," since the little guy is sick. :( Hopefully he'll get over his cold soon.
I also have to say that I'm sorry about your job, BUT this could be leading to something good there. . .who knows where life could lead you after the bar? I really believe that all things work toward good--we might not always understand it at the time--but if we're patient and keep open to possibilities, good things turn up. "Keep the faith, baby" as my 79 1/2 yr. old mom would say.
Boy, do I respect your need for a vacation from the point routine, Steph. Sometimes I feel like I'm just plain SICK of this continuous counting and record-keeping! I like the plan and I like the results, but sometimes I feel overly focused on it all. I think the vacation is a good thing--it'll clear your mind and then you can come back fresh and motivated.
I hope you and Dan and Roo and the kitties all have a good weekend.

Roo is adorable! I just love new kittens!:lovestruc I hope the other kitties start getting along with him very soon!
And I agree, you could probably use a week off from counting poits. You've been doing this a long time. I think with all the exercise you've been doing this week, you should be fine. Relax and enjoy what's left of your week off!::yes::
I hope you have a nice weekend Steph! Hopefully, you'll see lots of :sunny: !

Little Roo is feeling a bit better today - he's been running around and talking up a storm, still lots of sneezing but the meds must be working.
Only one more day until I get back to counting points. I agree Erin, sometimes I feel like by counting points I'm putting too much emphasis on food and obsessing over it too much but I do like the results. I'll just have to wait and see and eventually decide what I want to do. Last summer I just watched what I ate and exercised everyday and still lost 20lbs.
Well I did make some bad food choices this week and ate a bunch of the stuff I had been avoiding while on plan. I'm definitely not expecting a loss this week. RIght now I'm just hoping I didn't gain too much. As for my other goals I think I did fine with water and I'm getting better on the vitamins (at least half the week I've taken them). I've done my walking but I wimped out on my arm exercises - I really need to do those so I don't look too jiggly in my sleeveless shirts this summer. I also made a deal with myself for getting in my pilates today. I have to do my routine before I walk which I really want to do so I can finish my book. That is what I'll be doing as soon as I finish this message.
I went and bought some more summer clothes at Aero. Now I just have to get my legs looking a little better in those shorts. anyone have some toning tips?
Oh I also was recommended for a promotion at bath and body. I'd still have to interview for it. I really don't think I'll go for it. It would be full time and pay a little more but no benefits. I really don't want a career in retail and that's what the promotion will lead to. Plus that would leave almost no time to study for the bar. I'd much rather work parttime at the mall and orchard this summer unless I had a legal job. Plus the orchard is so slow that I have time to study while I am there.
UPDATE - I'm doine with my exercise today. I did my pilates then walked 3 miles.

I pretty much maintained this week even though I was completely off the wagon the first part of the week. Now I've definitely got to get back on track with food and exercise so I can continue with losing and get toned up a bit.
Breakfast - cereal 5pts
Lunch - soup and sub 12.5pts
Dinner - shepard's pie 10pts
Snacks - 9pts
Total - 36.5, 4 aps used, 6.5 flex used
Exercise - 3 mile walk, toning pilates
Getting back on plan was a real challenge today. Good thing I earned plenty of aps. Hopefully the rest of the week will be a little easier.

steph, i must congratulate you on maintaining while you took a break from point tracking. that really is a great accomplishment...really lets you know that you're going to be okay once you get to maintaining :bounce:
i totally understand the need for a break from teh points. i've only been doing ww for a couple months, but i too sometimes feel like i focus too much on food and it takes over a bunch more than it should, and that feels wrong. but i too know it works. so i knwo it's good to stick to it, even if you need a little break every once in a while :). glad your week off points went well :hyper:
you have such a great outlook on your work! i'm proud of you for realizing that the extra money by taking a full time position at bath and body wouldn't be worth it. definitely more important to have time to study for the bar, because i knwo that is your ultimate goal. sometimes it's easier to just look short term (better paying job), but you're keeping your eye on the long term, and that is so important ::yes::
hope you have a great day :sunny:

Hi Steph! Wow! You had a week off and maintained!! That is excellent!!!:jumping1: Sounds like this weight is off for good for you Steph!
I also second your decision on the bath & Body promotion. You need to keep your time open for studying. The higher paying jobs will come after you pass that bar! My SIL was a manager with Bath & Body for several years. What awful hours she had to put in. And as you said, it is just part of working retail. No, keep your part-time jobs and do all the studying you can!::yes::
Alright, Get back OP this week and get that exercise in! WDW will be here before you know it, and you'll want to be toned and looking fine when you go down there!!! Here's some :wizard: so it will be a little easier getting back OP!
Have a super day Steph!!

I haven't counted points for lunch today because I went out to one of my fave restaurants Nifty Fifty's and I'm not really sure about the points but since dinner will be soup and salad I think I should be within my points for the day as long as I don't snack tonight.
I'm hoping to get some walking in today but my lower back is killing me again. Hopefully the tylenol I took will help. I think I might need to see someone about it - my neighbor is a chiro so I might have to see how much a visit costs with her. Maybe I'll just walk to the library - I have 2 books to return - it's not too far and I don't think it would make me hurt more than I already do.

Hope you start to feeling better and the soreness goes away! Hopefully that Tylenol will help.

I'm feeling a bit better today Desiree. I took some more tylenol before I walked this morning though. Good thing I ended up walking to the library yesterday b/c this snow is just a mess even though we didn't get much of it. I walked 2 miles this morning but I might walk more later today depending on what Dan wants to do for dinner.
Breakfast - cereal 5pts
Lunch - Smart Ones pizza 8pts
Okay - today did not turn out so well. I am so frustrated with my diet. Lately it seems the more I try to stay on track the more I want and need to cheat. So much of this battle is psychological for me and right now I'm losing. I really need to stop thinking about food so much - I'm not happy with myself obsessing over everything I eat. I'm not giving up but I think I need to start eating normally for a little while - not counting points - b/c mentally this is not working for me right now and I don't want to get into a binging cycle again. I've been giving this a lot of thought lately and I seriously think I'm going to go back to my plan from summer which was exercising everyday and eating healthy while not on a diet per say. I'm still going to journal what I eat just to see how how I'm doing but I'm not counting points. If I start to gain again I'll know I'll have to either go back or find something else that works. I know that losing weight isn't easy but I shouldn't be unhappy - I haven't been honest in my journal about this b/c I didn't want you all to see how much I'm struggling b/c I don't want to look like I can't do this. I tried to stay strong but if I really want to make this work I can't hide how I really feel and what is really going on from you. I know all of you will be here to support me no matter what and I shouldn't worry about what you'll think if I'm stumbling.
Okay enough of that. Tomorrow is a new day and I'll be starting over again with a new plan and I'm going to do this day by day and not obsess over food, just make good choices.
marsh0013
03-17-2004, 11:57 AM
hey steph, don't feel bad about being honest!! if you are struggling, that's really okay, it's part of life. we don't think any less of you if you struggle, we all do! i know this isn't easy, and how much we concentrate on food and points really can take over. you've got to do what's right for you. as long as you keep up your exercise, and you eat "healthy", i'm sure you will do just fine. don't worry about the points. just do what feels right for you. it's not good for you to be feeling so miserable about your woe, that's definitely a sign that changing it up is a good decision.
aw steph, i'd just like to give you a big  . you are so strong, i'm sure you can make it through this. i hope that changing the way you keep track of your food will help you get over this feeling of stumbling. i hope it becomes a positive experience that will put a smile back on your face :)
have a great day today steph, you deserve it :sunny:

Thanks Marcia - I really needed your support and hug today.
Today has been tough and as a result not a great food choice day but it could have been worse. First off, don't ever break a side mirror on your car b/c they are a pain in the butt to replace - at least on Dan's car. We spent most of the day trying to get it fixed and everyone is out of the mirror and special clip to hold it in place - one dealership even told us they had one in stock yet when I drove there after dropping Dan off at work, they couldn't find it. GRRRR!
Food - small vanilla soft serve (free at DQ today), 2 slices pizza, large root beer (all of out diet soda), tastycake, 3 pb candy pieces, chicken nuggets and fries
Water - 3 mugs, 1 diet tea
Vitamins - taken
Exercise - 2.25 miles and last night I did upper body free weights
honeymo78
03-18-2004, 10:51 AM
Well I looked at the scale this morning and I'm up 4.5lbs but that's okay b/c it's not weigh in day yet and I did not eat great the end of last week/beginning of this week.
I don't know if I'll get in exercise today other than free weights b/c I have a meeting at work and then class tonight.
Food - toast w/pb&j, wonton soup, handful jellybeans, bagel w/cream cheese, grilled cheese and tomato soup
Vitamins - done
Water - 3 mugs
Exercise - none yet

steph, i'm back, and this time, i've got extra :sunny: and :wizard: , supercharged to help you feel better
i'm so sorry about the mirror on dan's car! how frustrating! you'd think that would be a part that people would actually have, i'd think it would be common that people break those. hmm :scratchin . hope you guys have some luck with that one.
i'm glad to see that you're not letting that number on the scale get to you today. like you said, it's not official weigh in day, and the past few days haven't been the best. i'm sure that you can get that down over the next few as long as you stick to making good food choices ::yes::
i hope that you are feeling better today, but just for good measure, here's another  :)

Steph! I feel terrible that I haven't been around for you this week. Sounds like you've had a real tough one!  for you Steph!
Yes, you need to be honest here in your journal. It IS your journal. We are just here to read along, cheer for you, support you, what ever you need. So be honest with us and more importantly, be honest with yourself. Are you having a tough time because you have more free time on your hands? I know boredom and eating go hand in hand for me! Take a look at things to see if that is the case. Maybe go to the library to study. No food there, different surrondings.... I don't know, just a thought.
Don't worry about the points for a few weeks at least. Then. like you said, see what happens and reassess at that point. Just take it one day at a time and do your best to live healthy. Make good food choices and exercise, take care of you! :teeth:
I hope you get to see plenty of :sunny: this weekend Steph! Sounds like you could use it!!

Thanks again for all your support Marcia and Sharon. I'm feeling better about me right now. I'll be walking a couple miles later today after I get some housework in. I've been trying to battle the bored and eating problem by going to workout instead of eating or just reading a few chapters in whatever book I'm reading and waiting to see if I'm still hungry when I'm done. I found out that I'll start back at the orchard next weekend. Sat will be very busy since I'll be working all day at the fishing derby and then til close at the mall. Oh well - hopefully long days like that won't happen too often, it was just short notice from the orchard so I couldn't schedule my mall hours around it.
Food - eggs, pancakes, hashbrowns (brunch), tastycake, burger and fries
Vitamins - done
Water - 4+ mugs
Exercise - 3.5 miles
I really hope that all this walking will do something for my thighs - they certainly hurt enough now that I have upped my walking to more than 1 mile at a time.
I just started reading the Da Vinci Code tonight. I'm only a couple chapters into and it seems to be really good. I hope that it is as good as all the hype I've heard about it.

:sunny: Good morning, Steph! I'm here with  and more :wizard: to add to your collection. :D Happy Spring!:Pinkbounc
Steph, your journal is your place to lay it all out there. The good, the bad, the ugly, the low, the high, the victorious. You always have to be true to yourself in it, so it's good that you've detailed your struggles. Knowing what you're going through, we can all lend a hand. If we don't know, you're going it alone, and what's the point of that, right?
You have accomplished so much--take a moment and celebrate that. :goodvibes Just feel all that success! You can do this, Steph. You can WANT to make the right choices again because you know how good that it feels. Some people slip up and go right back to their old ways, but you're not. You're searching for what's right for you, and you'll find it, I know. You're going through a lot of change and "stuff" right now--job transitions, darn car mirror problems, struggling with food choices, but you know that you'll find your way. The road to healthy living is there, you just have to find your right path. You'll find what works best for you--just keep on keeping on the best that you can.
:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: for your day,
Erin

Thanks for your kind words Erin and your support. You're right - if I'm not honest with myself and honest here all of you won't know what I'm going through and won't be able to help me out.
Last night we went out for drinks and dessert with some friends. I haven't been out for drinks in such a long time! I only had two though and split a dessert with Dan. Not a great end to the day but at least I didn't go nuts. Now I'm feeling a bit bloated from the alcohol but I'm getting right to drinking my water so that should help.
We are having steak and mac and cheese for dinner (Dan makes a great cheese sauce) so I need to try and eat a healthy lunch before I go to work this afternoon. I've got some italian wedding soup which isn't too bad so maybe I'll have that. I would have a salad with it but I'm out of veggies and I don't have time to hit the store this morning. I'll come up with something good for me to finish off the lunch.
I'm going to hit some journals quickly and then go and walk and read for about an hour.
Food - cereal w/milk, italian wedding soup
Vitamins - done
Water - 3 mugs
Exercise - 3 miles

Hey Steph, I'm sorry you're going through a rough time right now. You're right to post your difficulties in your journal, it can't all be about sunshine all the time because that's not reality. We all go through our ups and downs. Of course we'll be here to support you no matter what, just as you've been there for us. Take whatever time you need to reevaluate your situation and then decide what you want to do. This is your journey. It's not always an easy one, but at least you're hanging in there and not giving up. Hugs to you Steph.

Hi Lisa and Desiree. Thanks for being there for me right now. I really appreciate it.
Yesterday at work one of manangers asked me if I was proud of what I had accomplished weight wise. She's seen me lose close to 30lbs since I started working there. I told her of course I was proud. But then I got to thinking about it, sometimes I don't feel proud of how far I've come b/c I still see how far I need to go. I need to stop thinking like that and focus on what I've done so far. I definitely should feel proud. I'm so much healthier and smaller than I was last year. My journey isn't over but I have come so far. I should tell myself that everyday.
And on to the scale - I'm up 4.5lbs this week. No big deal. I know I'm gaining more muscle - my legs are definitely starting to look more defined. I've got to measure again to see if I'm getting smaller that way. I know I'm not going to give up b/c of a gain.
UPDATE
I've gotten in my vitamins, 3 mugs of water and 2 miles on the treadmill. I also finished the Da Vinci Code. Very very good, and I just heard that Ron Howard is going to direct it as a movie. Now I have to find something else good to read.

hey steph, i just wanted to come by to lend my support. you look like you're doing well, making good food choices, and getting in that exercise. i'm sure you definitely are building muscle, and that will surely show on the scale. i'm just coming to grips with this myself. it's hard, i know.
and i know you're having a hard time being proud of what you've accomplished because you are looking at the long road ahead. but you just have to take it one day at a time, focus on little victories. easier said than done, i know, but it will hopefully help you realize that you are having little victories every day and that in the end, they will all add up to your ultimate goal.

Steph, I just got caught up on your journal. I'm sorry I've been gone so long! I'm sending a  and some :wizard: and some bright :sunny: :sunny: your way!!
I noticed that you've been re-evaluating the food thing - to count or not to count WW points, etc. But what I REALLY noticed was that through all of the food choices - both good and bad - you've been drinking your water and exercising! You are still on the healthy living road, doing things that will keep your body in good shape, and you should be very proud of that!
You're not alone. We're all here, gathered around you. :grouphug: We'll be here, no matter what - during the times when the healthy walk is easy and during the times when it isn't. Don't be afraid to post here when the going gets rough, OK???

Hi everyone! I'm back, finally. Things have been crazy lately. I started getting hours at the orchard and we were redecorating two rooms in the house so I didn't have much time on the internet. Then I burnt my hand and couldn't type for a few days. The good news is I am still at 182 - where I was the last time I checked in with all of you - so I haven't gained even though I haven't been sticking to WW. The bad news is that I haven't been exercising. I've been feeling so run down with work, school and housework then I got injured. I'm going to get back to exercising starting today.
I ordered a new tankini since the one I bought last summer was way too big. It looks pretty good on me if I must say so myself and I know it will look great on me at WDW. My size 12 shorts I bought for vacation are a bit tight still but I definitely have time to get them to fit better.
I'll try to get around to journals in the next few days - I've got a lot to catch up on.
Thanks everyone for still supporting me through all this. You gals are great! :grouphug:

new tankini! wooo! sounds very nice, they seem to be the bathing suit of choice around these parts :smooth: . and you've got some time...i'm sure those size 12 shorts will fit better by then! not to worry! :hyper:

Thanks for stopping by Marcia! It's great to be back among my friends.
And I feel so much better now that I have gotten back to exercising. I walked 1.5 miles yesterday and today I did my Walk and Jog WATP tape and that is the equiv of 2.5 miles.
I also will get in my water today - only 1 more mug to go.

Welcome back Steph! I was gone a few days too, busy week. I see you're back into the swing of things. Hey, anytime you don't gain it's a good thing. I'm sure those size 12s will fit comfortably in no time. Have a good weekend!:D

Okay - I've been gone a few more days for Easter but I'm back again. Here's the catchup. Wed and Fri I did stock at work so I didn't do any extra exercise. Thurs I walked to the library. No exercise over the weekend. Mon I walked about a mile total. My car is giving me some problems so I had to take the train in to class and it's a bit of a walk from the station to the building for class and also from where the station to where I had to park my car so I'm sure I got in about a mile. Today I walked 1.5 miles on WATP.
I didn't get to weigh in this week but I don't think I gained.

Keep it up, Steph!! :sunny:

Doreen - you're right, it definitely is a postivie that my car trouble is getting me to walk more. thankfully the car isn't totally out of commission but it doesn't like highway driving anymore, I think it might be the transmission but what do I know about cars, so I use it to go to work but school is a half hour away on 95.
Sharon - little Roo is doing well. His cold is all cleared up and his paws are healing nicely from the declawing.
I have been good and bad - the good is that I exercised again today walking 2 miles - the bad is that since last night I have eaten almost a pint of ben and jerry's. OH well, at least the craving is out of my system.

Okay here's the latest update on exercise. I didn't go to class last thursday so I only got in the one mile. Friday I did shipment at work. Sat I walked to the library. Sunday I didn't do anything - just enjoyed the nice weather. Monday I walked about a mile getting to and from class. Today I did WATP muscle mile in the afternoon and the evening mile tonite.
Since I'm only about a month away from my disney trip and I haven't been losing lately I really think I need to kick up the exercise from now until vacation so that I can get into those new shorts. My goal is to walk at least 1 mile every day from now until May 22. I know that is very ambitious but I figure if I set my sights high I should have some great results even if I don't completely meet the goal. Plus all that walking will get me in good condition for walking in WDW.

I'm doing really well with this walking everyday. I didn't get to walk on Friday b/c I slept in and was just too tired after work but at least I did get some activity in at work with shipment. Yesterday I walked to the library which is about a mile roundtrip and then spent 8hrs on my feet at work. I haven't exercised yet today but I'll be getting on the treadmill in a few mintues. I haven't noticed any change on the scale yet but I'm sure that I will see some sort of change either with the scale or how I look by the time vacation rolls around.
UPDATE - I did 2 miles on the treadmill today.

Sharon thanks for reminding me to drink my water. I haven't been keeping up with that as much as I should be. It's funny that you mentioned it today because I made a big effort today to drink more water. We must be on the same wavelength lol.
I tried on my 12s again and compared them to my new 14s. I'm not sure they will fit as comfortably as I'd like before the trip so I went and exchanged 2 of the 3 pairs I have for 14s. I know I was really looking forward to wearing the smaller size but even if they ended up fitting I know I would be more comfortable after a long day of walking in the heat in the 14s.
I walked 2 miles today - I did half the heart healthy watp tape before dinner and the other half just a few minutes ago.

You're walking practically every day and getting healthier - you know you're in much better shape for walking around WDW! ::yes:: Celebrate your success!!

Well I'm about a week and a half into trying to exercise everyday and here are the results. The first week I exercised 6 days and three of those days I walked 2 miles.
I didn't walk at all yesterday - I was feeling a bit under the weather and I had to go into work early then I fell asleep when I got home. Oh well, it just means I really need to walk every day for the rest of the week.
This morning I walked 1.5 miles on the treadmill. Hopefully I'll do a mile tape tonight after work so I can get some upper body work in.
UPDATE - Doe and Sharon, thanks for stopping by. I'm feeling okay about having to change to 14s. I'm just so glad that I'm not in 18s like I was when I went in Aug. The 14s are a little loose but are definitely a better fit and won't be tight and bulgy.
Tonight I did the muscle mile.

You are doing great Steph!!:cheer2: The walking is really going to pay off for you. Since you've been "off" with the water drinking for a while, I bet if you really stepped it up right now, you'd drop a couple of water weight pounds you are probably back to retaining. :drinking1 Step it up Steph (in both ways!!!!;) )!!!
Sorry about the shorts, but you will actually look better/thinner in the 14s that fit nicely than in 12s that are too tight. When they are too tight and pull and bunch, we aren't doing ourselves any favors!!!

I'm almost all ready to leave for disney on Sunday. I'm so excited! I'm going crazy trying to occupy my mind. I know I could be exercising but on Monday I got hit with a killer cold so I have been doing my best to get better before we leave. I still have a stuffy nose but otherwise I'm not feeling too bad. I've managed to loose a few of those extra pounds I put on during finals time so that has me feeling good too.
In other news, I got promoted at BBW and now am a part time sales lead (kinda like assistant manager). I will really have a busy summer b/w working 25-30 at the orchard and 20-30 hours at BBW. At least working at the orchard is easy and pretty boring so I'll be able to study for the bar exam. Also my mom is going to pitch in some money so I can get a new car - I'm looking at leasing the Ford Escape. My car is ready to call it quits so we'll start looking when we get back from disney. The new promotion came with a nice raise too so that will help with the car payments.
I'll stop by once I'm back and let you all know what a great time I had. Take care everyone!!

Desiree thanks for stopping by again after all this time. I'm just amazed at the strength and commitment I had in this journal. I've done it before and I know I can do it again. Healthy eating and exercise CAN fit into my life.
I'm not sure whether I'm going back on ww or just going to track my food. I do have an app that tracks calories, fat, etc but not points. At a minimum I will use that in addition to posting here. Other goals are vitamins, four glasses of water at work and one at home, exercise 5 times a week. The food and exercise will be the toughest but I have moved my wiifit to a new location that is more accessible and may add a DVD player there so I can do warp as well (assuming I can remember where I put the DVDs).

I counted pts yesterday but I don't really have a good program to do it for me so I will figure out points when I can. I am using a great program to track calories and journal m food and exercise. It is set to 1700 Cals a day which it says will have me losing 1.5 lbs a week. I'm going to see how that works out for a few weeks.
Last night I walked for 10 min and did wii fit for 22 min. Tonight I want to hook up the DVD and do the 1mile watp. I also got in plenty of water at work then another glass at home.

Desiree - that was a typo, I meant watp (walk away the pounds). I did a basic one mile last night and wow am I sore now, especially my arms and back. I forgot that it isn't just a stroll in the park.
Dinner yesterday ended up as 13pts, meaning I was 1.5 over for the but I'm thinking my exercise gave me at least one ap to use.
Breakfast
Skim milk and cereal 3.5pts
Coffee with half and half 1pt
Lunch
quesadilla 7pts
salad w/italian dressing 4pts
Dinner
tacos 9 pts
tortilla 1.5 pts
sour cream .5 pt
26.5 pts, 1267 calories
I need to run to the bank today so that's a nice 6 city block walk total then I plan on using the wii fit tonight.

07-16-2010, 09:59 AM
Videos are great. It's walking/marching in place, knee lifts, kicks, and side steps along with arm movements you do with or without weights. The pace is about 15 min mile which is faster than I normally walk on the treadmill.
Yesterday I kept under points and calories but didn't get in formal exercise. I wanted to, planned to, but got busy at home. I had to fix our vertical blinds which involved at lot of reaching and lifting with my arms which are now super sore. I also had to do some more cleaning to make room for the new furniture we are getting tomorrow. So it's not like I just sat on my butt instead of exercising plus I walked to the bank. Tonight I'm trying to get in a two mile walk, some laundry, errands and some vacuuming before going out to dinner. Tomorrow I'm doing yard work and fence fixing so that will be plenty of exercise.
Food today will be over on ww points but still within my calorie count when I include the exercise so I'm really not counting it as a bad day. I made my lunch before I knew we were going out and I don't like to waste money/food that I already prepared. If it wasn't the weekend coming up I'd just save it for the next day but it won't keep til monday.
Tomorrow's food won't be great either since we are going to dinner at a Steakhouse, but I'm not going to sweat it. I'll eat what I like, knowing that I have been on track the rest of the week.
Meal plans
Breakfast
Cereal and milk 3.5pts
Coffee 1pt
Lunch
Double serving of tacos (due to late dinner) 15.5pts
Salad with dressing 4pts
Dinner
Open face roast beef sandwich and mashed potatos or fries 17pts
41 pts, 1806 calories
Lots of points but only 100 calories over my calorie limit before exercise, however lunch and dinner have a higher fat content so that is what is making them so high in points.

I ran out of time for my workout on Friday, I was running around the whole night until dinner, including several loads of laundry and more cleaning. Yesterday was exhausting - 6 hours of yard work but the fencing is fixed and several bushes/trees are now removed. Muscles I didn't even know I had are sore. The puppies love playing in the yard so its all worth it.

With the exception of Saturday I've been doing really well with staying within the day's calories usually counting exercise calories earned. The points are really hard to calculate as I don't have a free program on my phone to calculate it. I think I will stick with the calories rather than points since it seems to be working. I was supposed to weigh yesterday which would have been 1 week but I didn't use the wii fit, just the WATP tapes. Today when I weighed in I was down 2.6lbs!!! I'm so excited!!! I even had a little bit of a struggle on Monday with some snack cravings that I gave in to, but I pulled it out and didn't make a mess of the entire day.
Yesterday
breakfast - cereal w/skim milk, coffee with half and half
lunch - tuna salad on slim multigrain, asian onion soup
dinner - roast beef sandwich, gravy fries, yuengling
snack - fruit bar
exercise - 2 mile WATP
Today
breakfast - slim multigrain with pb, coffee with half and half
lunch - asian garlic soup
dinner - pasta and meatballs
snack - multigrain pretzels, fudgesicle
exercise - 26 min wii fit

Ah, yet another resurrection of my journal.
Still struggling with my weight and trying again at journaling my food. Currently doing the Mayo Clinic Diet. Daily goals are 3 fats, 3 protein/dairy, 4 carb, 3+ fruit, 4+ veg.
Fri
Breakfast - strawberries and blackberries (2 fruit)
Snack - carrots and celery (1 veg)
Lunch - salad with italian dressing, egg salad on whole grain bread (1 veg, 2 fat, 2 protein, 2 carb)
Snack - carrots and celery (1 veg)
Dinner - pork chops and whole grain pasta (1 veg, 1 protein, 2 carb)
Snacks - almonds, tomato juice, strawberries (2 veg, 1 fat, .5 fruit)
Total - 2.5 fruit, 6 veg, 3 fat, 3 protein/dairy, 4 carb
Sat
Breakfast - strawberries and blackberries in plain yogurt (2 fruit, 1 dairy)
Lunch - cucumber & tomato salad, egg salad on whole grain bread (3 veg, 1.5 protein, 2 carb, 2 fat)
Dinner - chicken breast, baked potato, green beans (1.5 protein, 2 veg, 2.5 carb, 1 fat)
Snacks - peach (1 fruit)
Total - 3 fruit, 5 veg, 4 protein/dairy, 3 fat, 4.5 carb
I went over a little today on protein and carbs but not higher than the next level of recommended servings. I don't plan on going over my limits often but when I do as long as I don't go over 4 protein/dairy and 5 carbs I haven't really gone off plan - just not at optimum level for the most weight loss.

I have just joined the boards, and will begin my own Journal on June 1. For my grandson's 5th birthday, my daughter, her husband and I are taking him to Disney World. That will be in March of 2012 and I want to lose 70 pounds by that date.
My daughter and her family live in Easton, PA. She will probably join the WISH board also. We are both doing Weight Watchers.

Hi Steph! Not sure if you remember me or not, probably not, it was too long ago. Back in '04 we used to post on each other's journal. Like you I sort of fell off the wagon. I never left the DIS but I stopped journaling when I started gaining weight back.
Anyway, it's nice to see you're still around. Hang in there, maintaining weight loss is a life long journey and it's good to have support for those ups and downs. Take care and see you around!

I absolutely do remember you! It's good to see a familiar face/name.
While I'm not journaling every bit of food like I did at the beginning, I'm getting into a habit of eating approximately the same things every day which makes it easy. I've lost another 3lbs this week with 11lbs gone total so far. DH being on board really does seem to be making a difference.
I was starved when I got home from work tonight and instead of finding something bad to snack on I grabbed a low fat string cheese and some salsa (no chips). That will definitely keep me happy until dinner in another hour and a half.

I haven't given up - I'm still here, just doing most of my posting on the Aug/Sept trip weight loss thread. I'm down about 14lbs so far in less than 2 months. I'm hoping for close to 20 more before the end of Sept. I kind of lost track a bit the last 2 weeks with eating junk for lunch so I'm back to salad and small sandwiches. I've also pulled out my WATP dvd and did the 1 mile. Wow who thought 1 mile would kick my butt - need to get my walking in gear before Sept. I was okay at DL but DW is so much bigger. No promises, but I'm going to try to do the 1 mile in the morning before work. I usually make the dogs go back to sleep for 20-30 minute before I get up but I never really get back to sleep. That time might be better used to get in a little walk then shower and get ready for work. I'm going to try it out and see how that works for me. Otherwise, I'm going to try getting in the walk on the nights when DH works late.
I was looking through some old photos trying to decide what to scan into the computer and came across ones from 2003 when I was bigger than I am now and then some from 2 years later on my honeymoon where I was about 30lbs lighter than I am now. It really helped inspire me. I never want to look like those 2003 pics again, even though I know I did look like that a few months ago and I'm not much better now. Also I still have some of the tops from the honeymoon pics and I would really like to wear them again and look good doing it. That's kind of what made me think I should add some exercise (that and DH saying it might be time to get active to help with the diet).
