Dee,
We had ten at our table last September........can we all fit?
Our group co-ordinator said 10 was the biggest table. We had a great location, too.
Happy Anniversary in advance. I was always mad at my mom for not having me on St Patrick's Day since we're Irish, but she was only in labor for an hour as it was...and I was born at 1 a.m. Missed it by an hour. Oh well.
Going to go start some stew for dinner....will check in later!

On our cruise 3 years ago, we had 13 for dinner. They pushed 2 tables together for us. It was fun to sit with that many people and look at what everyone had to eat.
Do you guys have room for another east coaster?!? :D Can you tell that I'm 'wining'
Linda, congrats on top of the page. Looks like I set it up for you with my earlier post.

Hi everyone.
Paul, I am sorry to hear about your mom. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
Mary, The newsletter was great. Emily's birthday is in March and was left off the birthday list. I thought I e mailed it to someone a long time ago but I could be mistaken. I would appreciate it if you could add it on as we just read the newsletter together. It is March 13th. She will be 7. Thank you.
You all were so busy here last night. I missed all the fun. Next time.
What a beautiful day here in NY. Spring is almost here. Yeah.
I can not remenber who is from Canada on DIS?? I wanted to ask them or anyone who has been to Vancouver where they would stay in the summertime for a few nights. We will be staying in Vancouver for 3 nights the end of August with DD before we cruise to Alaska for a week. Any info would be appreciated.
I hope you all have a great night. Fondly, Gail:earsgirl:

Okay "daytimers"....not much of a job today :(
I'm watching the Oscars....nothing else on.
How do we arrange seating and tables and rotation in advance? (For dinner on the cruise, that is).
I'm going to go read Mary's newsletter. Earlier I didn't have it on the page??? Maybe I'm just losing my mind (again)
Back later probably to talk to myself....looks like everyone went to bed early.

Hi Guys,
You all have a good weekend? Mine was okay. My dad's company wants him to move to Mississippi and they dont really want him to commute between there and georgia which is were my mom wants to move. Neither I nor my mom want to go there, no offense to anyone on the boards from MS. I think we might go visit to see what its like next weekend. My dad wants the job but he needs to see what they can work out, he is out a level were they might be able to make some exceptions. We will see. I heard the schools stink in Mississippi. I really dont have any interest in moving there:( I guess we will see what happens this week. Please send pixie dust our way.

And Matt, too!
Lots of pixie dust Matt!! I know how hard it is to even think about moving to another state and new school. Look at the up-side....Mississippi is closer to Florida!!! :D
Things will work out.....you know you can't control it anyway, so please try not to worry about it.

You just call CRO and link the ressies together. But then we had all booked thru DCL. I guess it would work the same way if you book thru different TA's.

Hi all--I'm here too!
You have been very busy over the weekend! My DDs are fully recovered, and we have been running around catching up on things.
Dee--sorry your email bounced. I was remiss and did not add your address to my book, and any "suspect" emails (that is, not in my address book!) are bounced back. Good for anti-spam, but bad for new friends :( .
I did PM you a few days ago--and I WILL get you in my book! Yes, a March meet will be good, so we need to get the details hammered down ASAP! :teeth: :teeth:
Gail--we also go up to Vancouver quite often. The last few times we used Priceline and got beautiful 4 star hotels for less than $50! Last April, we stayed at the downtown Hyatt for $40/night.
My favorite is the Empress, but we haven't gotten that on Priceline for several years. Emily will love tea at the Empress!
Mary--the newsletter looks great!

02-29-2004, 11:49 PM
Darn, I missed the top of the page by one!
Stacey--have you tried refreshing the page??? That might help you get the current page up...
Dee--I emailed you so we can get on with our meet plans!!! And no, you won't need to talk to yourself (at least not for a little while anyway!!)
Have you used Priceline for Vancouver? We have had SUCH good luck.
And OOOOPS--I mislead Gail--THE EMPRESS IS IN VICTORIA, NOT VANCOUVER!!!!! We combine the two destinations from time to time (but it is NOT a quick trip between the two!). I love Victoria, but alas, if you are in Vancouver you cannot have tea at the Empress.
dee47
02-29-2004, 11:55 PM
Nope, I have not actually tried proceline. I'm always worried about getting stuck with something I won't like...But I guess if you can specify how many stars it's worth a try?

Good night Jill!
Stacey--did the refresh work???
Dee--did you get my email? Did you have any luck with Mary's page? You did use the link, right from her signature...that always works for me...
I have always had good luck with Priceline, as long as I stay with 4 star level. You can choose 1 to 4 stars, and in some cases RESORT level. We usually get the Marriott World Orlando Center when we do Priceline for WDW, or the Whyndam Palace. Both are fantastic deals for around 60 a night!!!! I have used Priceline for Portland Oregon, and have stayed at the Benson ($60!), the 5th Avenue Suites ($70)...and the Westin ($60).
We have also stayed at the Westin and the Sheraton in dowtown Seattle for as little as $40 and no more than $75. Fun for a weekend getaway from the island here!

Hmm, maybe I don't have your email right. I had to eliminate the space between Dee and the next part because I got a message saying no spaces. So maybe I have your address wrong. But it didn't bounce back...
Basically, I said let's get together either this weekend, or Saturday the 28th. Do either of those work for you??? We have PURE CRAZINESS in between--I am going to New Orleans and DH is going to Vegas. crazy:
Matt---sending Pixie dust your way!!! I am currently reading The Last Juror, by Grisham, and set in Mississippi. I can understand your apprehension--but I am sure Mississippi has its good points too.:) :) :)

I'm going to blow my stack.

Christy, there is an underscore (_) between dee and 47. I think it might have gotten lost in the hotlink because the hotlink itself is underscored. So it's dee_47 at hotmail.com.
This Sunday (the 7th) works for us. Or Saturday after 1. Take your pick. Sunday the 28th also works. I'd rather do the 7th because I can't wait to meet you all!

Stacey--I encountered that message (the one that wouldn't let us on this site) as well--it said something like the database isn't working. I had to try several times before gettng back on.
I don't know why you can't get Mary's page. Are you going straight from the link in her signature?
dee47
03-01-2004, 12:27 AM
Stacey, I couldn't get to the DIS boards myself about 15 minutes ago...But now I got Mary's site and the boards back...I actually restarted my system because I wasn't sure where the problem was...
When all else fails -- REBOOT!

2belles'mom
03-01-2004, 12:27 AM

Christy, you got mail!
justmestace
03-01-2004, 12:34 AM
I tried enlarging the page...not there...refresh...no change...scroll down..it won't....
If I place my cursor on February's, the link shows up down below (I don't know what they call that...all those words down there), anyway, if I place my cursor below February, there's nothing.
You know how if you're impatient waiting for a page to load, and you know where the part of the page is that you need to click on, and you can click on it before it shows up....doesn't work.
Guess I'll have to wait for Mary.
I WILL NOT keep myself awake worrying about it. (sure)
On to other things....DS had practice at the "mansion" again today. Two of the players' younger siblings were out on the putting green swinging clubs...and the inevitable happened....one ended up going for stitches. Not too serious though...he'll be okay.
These people also have a driving range. Man.
The player that lives there is the only girl on the team....and she is, by far, the best player. She has four older brothers. The oldest just won a full scholarship for baseball...but I don't remember which college...maybe ASU. Guess it paid off to have that gym.
I will probably be up all night. This cold has me so tired that I took a 3 hour nap after DH got home from the cabin. He made it out of the 11 inches of snow. He was driving my Yukon XL.
Anyway, I knew I shouldn't have napped, but my head was killing me and I couldn't keep my eyes open. I'm hardly ever sick...so I don't deal with it well, and sleep seems to be my response.
Sooo....here I am. And no newsletter to read!
Forgot...I wasn't going to dwell on that.
Going to look around the boards.
Back in a few.

Why is it that the clock by our signatures isn't the correct time?
Boy, I'm full of complaints tonight. Don't mean to be.
Also, Dee, when you told Christy that you were sending her another e-mail...as I read that, I thought she had said something rude to you. It sounded like you resented something she said!:p Had to read it 3 times to get resent. Not resent.
Aahh, the English language...such fun. ;)

Do you mean the clock that says 5AM or some such thing?? I think I have noticed that that particular clock has been incorrect for a long time...even taking into account the time differences...Eastern time is only 12:50 right now.

Good Morning. Happy Monday everyone.
Dee, Thanks for the info. Do you remenber the name of the Crepe restaurant? We put a hold on three hotels. The Fairmont Waterfront through the cruise line, Pan Pacific and the Pacific Palisades. I have been reading mixed reviews about the Pacific. Some of the reviews I have read have stated that the hotel needs to be renovated, run down and the staff are not that friendly?? I than read some awesome reviews of the hotel. I read it is a great location. I thought it was on Robson Street? I read the shopping is awesome. I also read the restaurants and nightclubs are great. I hope to find a nice jazz club. I need to start saving for this trip. We are so excitied about going. DD wants to stay home with all the grandparents but I know once she gets there she would love all the children's activities in Vancouver and the cruise to Alaska. We had booked the Palisades as it was the best price and a one bedroom suite with C. breakfast. I found the Hotel throgh Vancouver's website.
Mary, Thanks so much for adding Emily. I will e mail you today.
2BellsMom, Emily will E mail your daughter today or tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone. Talk to you all later. Fondly, Gail1771

As for the time set. You can ajdust that yourself. Click the link at the top of the page that says USER CP and then click on the tab that says edit options. The 4th green bar down says date and time options and there is a pull down menu that lets you select your zone. Hope that helps.

Good Morning!!!
Thank you, Mary!!!!!! :) :Pinkbounc That worked!
I thought at first that maybe my screen was too small, but it's 17 inch. I also tried just by using monorail green. Also tried doing a direct link, typing it in the way the other months are...but it's not the same.
Anyway....thank you very much!
I will NOT take your 3000. Hopefully, we'll all remember and just sit and stare at the thread until you post!

Boy oh boy!! Busy fingers here! Took me about 40 minutes to scan through all the posts. My weekends are usually way to busy to post so I'm glad all of you can keep our numbers up.
DS survived his Boy Scout campout. Took a snowball in the mouth though so he has a fat lip. I think he had a good time, but DH says that some of the older boys teased him. I asked an adult leader that we know and he said Casey did fine until he got too cold and took the face shot all at the same time. Even then, he just asked to go inside and get warm. Other than leaving all his possession scattered around, that was the only problem they saw, and he did pick up his stuff, he just had to be told to do it (bad mom, since it's usually easier to just pick it up than have him do it!)
DD and I did a duet for our church music night last evening that went very well. I got lots of compliments on how well she did. She was pretty serious, but didn't seem nervous. Proud moment!
DH and I saw Passion of the Christ on Saturday morning with the church group. Man, was it intense! It was one of those movies that will live with you the rest of your life. And imo, I don't think any child under 16 should go to see it unless their parents have pre-screened it. I know my DD at almost 12 could absolutely never handle the violence in the movie. It was the quietest theater exit I've ever experienced.
Sounds like chat ended early on Friday. I hung in for about 1/2 hour, but my head cold really wiped me out. I went to bed before 10, and slept through until 8, and that was after a 2 hour nap Friday afternoon!
Off to read the newsletter. Have a great day everyone! Lisa

Okay, I'll talk to myself this time. I was just reading the cruise reports page, and there are nice reports there on a back to back set of cruises by Annie12345. She was on the cruise with karyn and Randy 1/31, and they apparently booked the Christmas cruise while on board. I invited her to drop on over and say hi, but you all might take a look at her reports. They are very nice.

I have just been reading the March newsletter. This is so good - great photos of Castaway Cay - I just can't wait to see it for myself.
We actually had snow yesterday - only a few inches but we are not really used to it in the UK and even a little bit seems to cause chaos. Still it has all melted now so back to normal.
I am amazed by how many post we are getting on this thread - I try to keep up and read them all. I do feel I am getting to know people's names slowly - by the time of the cruise hopefully I will know everyone.

GaRry-no problem on the video, we will just sit around and eat those "imported potatoe chips" while we wait.
DD was so excited to see the ship go by on twopalms and was wishing she was on that ship, saying those people are so lucky.
Another foot of snow. I think that storm is hitting Minnesota today. It was a big one. We have Matt to blame for that! And Matt, here's the pixie dust.........pixie dust........It would be a bummer to go to MS, much better to GA if you can get that way. At least you could go to WDW much more often.
Suppose to get to 37 today. Ooohhhh, a warm spell! At least we are getting our lakes filled back up!
I see that jilljill keeps grabbing the top of the page! You go girl. Can't wait till we get to 3000! We need to set a target! When do you guys think we can hit it? (See, if we all respond then we will push the numbers up)

OK, spoke to DCL. All we need are the last names of the parties that want to sit together, and they will link the resies. It doesn't matter if TAs are different.
SOOOOOOOOO...Stacey and Virgil (was there another East Coater who wanted to sit with us?) send me your last names and party size (PM or email, your choice). Anyone else who wants to sit together, for 2nd sitting, send me the same info, make sure I know who wants to sit with whom.
Are we all good?

Gale, the hotel is SUPERB! They've renovated a couple of years ago. They staff is unbelievably friendly. We love going there. They go out of their way to make you feel comfertable. They'll even walk the dog! (I'm series. It's a big thing for us).
The hotel enterance is off Robson but it has a Robson address. For shopping and good eating and nightlife Robson is THE PLACE to be in Vancouver.
I believe the Crepe place is Crepe Breton. It's directly across from the hotel enterance.
When are you going? Maybe we can plan to meet? Vancouver is only a 2.5 hr drive for us from WA (unless the border crossing is congested. Then it can turn into a 4-5 hour trip. But I digress).
Hope this helps?

Hi everyone.
Dee, Thanks for the info on the hotel and restaurant. We were going to try priceline but I do not want to chance where we stay especially if DD joins us. We arrive in Vancouver at 2:00am on Thrusday morning 8/26. Our flight leaves NY at 11:00pm on Cathay Pacific. Great price $283.00pp round trip direct form JFK. The flight back home leaves Vancouver at 1pm so that workded for us. We will be staying at the Fairmont Airport hotel when we arrive in to catch a few hours of sleep. The hotel is attached to the airport so that will be easy for us. We will be in Vancouver until Sunday early afternoon when the boat leaves. I would love to meet you all if you are up for the ride. We have no plans made as of yet for Friday or Saturday. Let me know if that works for you. What fun that would be. Anyone else in the area is welcome to join us as well.
Karyn, I have been thinking of you. I miss you. I am sure you are buzy with the move and all. Hope to hear from you soon and hear all about it.
Mary, great picture of Castaway Cay. I was dreaming about it today eventhough the weather was beautiful in NY, Almost 60!! I had DS at the park today. It was so nice to be outside.

Hi Jill. I should of clarified myself. I would love to be at the top of a page for one of my postings not for the 4000 post. I never seem to hit it right. I just wanted to take the #4000 post if nobody else did. It would be wishful thinking to have 4000 at the top of one of the pages. Which reminds me...Can anyone think of a hassle-free way of picking up and then getting about 15# of Purina kibble aboard? The only thing I can think of is either ordering one of the biggest surprise baskets ever assembled by The Perfect Gift.... Good Cash......or, and here it gets murky because so far I haven't figured out a way to stay at the Radisson the night before sailing without giving away half of the transport package (from the Orange Lake Country Club to the port) and cutting short (by one day) my stay there (OLCC)...Hmmm more planning needed....because if I could stay at the Radisson, I could scooter over to a nearby (?) grocery store (?) and buy it. Then, the next morning, pile it up on top of my wagon train and scooter it over to the dock with the rest of my stuff....
:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
Well, this is going to eake a LOT more planning. Good thing I have a cruise in May...Good time to get a good look at the port area....although, I'll have the same problem then, too.....Oh, Shirleyyyyyy...

No opened containers allowed to board the ship (silly) and no open containers allowed off...Canned food too heavy.....

Actually, I'm going to Philly tomorrow night. Too bad we aren't going to be there the same day! Originally I was supposed to be there Mon-Wednesday, but it got moved.
Linda (videogal) I know that you can get things shipped to the Raddison, so if you stay there, you can mail it down from home then take it to the port with your luggage. Or if you want to break it into smaller things, I'd be more than willing to put a 5 pound bag in one of our suitcases. Just tell me the brand and we'll have it for you on the ship. That might work in case Cash eats less than normal on board? If you have an unopened bag you could still take it off board with you.
Mary, I'm surprised that you have new employees with the rocky outlook on the company. Is there maybe some light at the end of the tunnel?
And finally, I don't think I ever said WELCOME BACK! to Karyn. So I'm doing it now! Lisa

Lisa - we are in a crazy mixied up time at work. Lots of work right now (and not enough people to do it), but in 2 months we could be dead slow again. We had to bring someone on so we did. I'm still looking at getting out and to something more stable, but the right job hasn't come along yet. Better to look while I still have one and can be picky.:D
Who knows it might pick up and I can stay and be happy. Right now I'm staying but not exactly happy. At least I'm paying the bills and at for the cruise so its not all bad!

Just a quick good morning and I'm off to work. I think the "beauty rest" did me some good.....I really do look more beautiful this morning princess: HA!
Lynda & Cash...we would be willing to pack kibble!! And to answer your other question, the early (main) seating usually has more small kids.
Angela, my two kids will be 14 & 11. 14 is DD and 11 is DS. I think they'd do well together.
Dee47 is kindly taking care of the late seating.....we don't know anyone on the cruise except our DIS friends here, so I think it's a great idea to sit together.
Everyone will be fighting over who gets to sit next to GaRry, but I'm picturing DW and DD on either side of him! They probably do it that way to keep him under control! ;)
Gotta run...busy day...end of the month books yuk yuk yuk.

Lynda-we could pick up the dog food for you on the way to the ship. We leave Orlando at 10:30 a.m. on the 18th and we are taking Happy Limo. They are making a 15 minute grocery stop for us and we will be picking up some stuff, so I am sure adding in a big bag of dog food would be no big deal. There are 13 of us, so I'm sure I can get one of the boys to take care of.
Anyway, all I need is a reminder about 10-14 days out and we will be your dog food delivery service.
And....it will help us so we don't miss our golden retriever, Sebastian, as much. We just love dogs!

Can we do something like that?

WOW!!!
All those gray hairs over this are just melting away......
Cash says yes, yes and I thank you SO much for the offer!
We spent 2 weeks at WDW last month and I took cans of food....OOF! all that weight in my luggage! American Airlines gave me a real bad time over Cash's stuff being over my luggage limit ....even when I explained that it was a choice of his food/water dishes or my undies....
They were unimpressed......and incorrect...but I really think dry food will be a better option....less messy, for sure! I don't know if you feed your Goldie canned food but, after a lifetime of crunchies, I discovered Cash has lost the knack of munching wet food and that mouth gets really messy!
I will get back to you before the trip, I'm sure!
Thanks again,
::yes::

Lynda-Glad to help you with reducing those gray hairs, I am getting some of those myself! I did put a reminder in my calendar for Dec. 10th.
Sebastian eats the dry stuff, Eukanuba or Iams. We buy it at Sam's Club in bulk!
I'm sure this is a difficult process, hopefully they will get Cash a great "poop" place on the ship. I just can't see the room thing with a litter box!

Hi!
Watched "Jim"......now I'm dying here. I can't stand the wait!
The horn was off a little, but close enough to give me goose bumps. The sound of the horn is my favorite part of the cruise....well almost. I wait out on the balcony with my video camera as we leave Castaway Cay, just to record the horn. When we left Nassau, my parents and I were up on the top deck watching the Capt. maneuver the ship around and out of port when the warning came about the horn. I didn't cover my ears. I figured it would be a great way to go deaf, with that being the last sound I heard.
I think I need therapy....

Hi Linda
Some ADA-knowledgable internet friends I met on a Yahoo groups list and a TA who specializes in arranging cruises for people with service dogs got in touch with various people at DCL about their service dog policy and poof, suddenly two accessible staterooms with verandahs came available for two cruises. Cash, the Wonder Dog is now Cash, the Verandah Dog, thanks to the work and cooperation of many people I have never met.
I am pleased to say that Cash is progressing nicely on his, umm, targeting training in the hopes that that no "litter box accidents" are likely to occur on his nice big verandah... All he needs now is a luggage-sized tree stump. I wonder if AAirlines will accepd THAT as a medical necessity?:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Well, I got all caught up with the end of the month books today, now I have 3 days worth of mail to go through tomorrow.
Also a follow-up with the doc to see if he'll "let" me fly to Vegas on Thursday. He'd have to be at the airport, and cuff me to keep me from going. He's worried about my ears. Or maybe he just doesn't want me to infect everyone on the plane. That seems reasonable. It's only a 45 min flight, I can hold my breath that long!

The kids are staying with our foreman and his wife. They just bought a new home in a community called Anthem. It is an unbelievable place. Parks everywhere, one with a train that gives rides, fishing ponds, wave pool, rock climbing walls, skating rinks, skate board ramps. My kids will never want to come home. Lynda......thank you for saving me from the insanity of talking to myself.
The only time I ever heard the warning was when we were out on deck. Someone spoke on the intercom system simply saying that it was goingto sound, and to leave or cover your ears or something to that effect.
If you're in the room, I'm not even sure if you'd hear it, but usually the Captain is speaking (that inescapable voice from above that enters your room when you least expect it) and you know that when he's done, it will sound.
Do they have doggie life vests?

The first time we had ever been to Disneyland at Christmas was in 2002. We went there to meet up with our dinner partners from our May 2002 cruise. We had never met before the cruise, and we all fell in love with eachother.
Anyway....I have never been so enchanted in my entire life. I was born and raised in Nebraska, with snow & tons of family and lots of get togethers, singing, games. Down here, it is just Jay and I and the kids. It has been so lonely and sad at Christmas for me.
Going to Disneyland made it actually feel like Christmas again. If you've been to WDW you know what I mean by that part. The timing of the trip is everything. We go from about the 18th of Dec to the 22nd. That way, we miss the big Christmas crunch. One more day, and the crowds would be unbearable.
The have everything running...parades, fireworks, Fantasmic...every night.
As far as I'm concerned, it's now my favorite time to go....and we've gone in the Spring, summer. fall.

I don't want to be a Gran*** yet!
I can't even write the word out loud.

You know...it might be easier to get more posts if someone would talk to me!!!
I really can't do this all alone, and no one is going to want to read this gibberish in the morning!

While I'd love to watch the ship the show is just too stupid to stomach (IMHO, I hope I don't insult anyone). After drooling over Mark Harmon this past hour (the reason I watch NCIS), Jim is too...well, you get my drift.
The horn cannot be heard in your cabin. I know because that's how I missed it on the 1st cruise. I was unpacking, if you can believe that.
So wre we stopping short of 3000 so Mary can grab it?

You guys have been way too busy tonight - I had pages to read!!!
I just got in from Philly and I got to meet Roy Disney and have my picture taken with him, it was definately a very cool moment! ABC wanted to interview my friend and I, but we declined :( Now I have to be up in a couple of hours to go back to Philly for the shareholder's meeting.

Hi Stacey!
I am trying to watch Jim, but just had to deal with a little "episode" between my DDs, who are SUPPOSED to be in bed
I learned how to do the pictures from the tech support board--under clipart primer thread. It was like pulling my hair out, but you get a lot of help!!!
