06-22-2003, 08:44 AM
This is my first post in this area and I am not sure if you can count my weight for WISH this week since I only started on Friday, but I lost 4.5 lbs from last Sunday!!
I am on WW and my official weigh in day is Sunday.
I don't expect this next week it is only because I was on vacation and was very very bad and got back on track this week so I had one of those fast weight losses that make you feel great but will defitenly be much less next week.
I would like to say congratulations to all those who lost or stayed the same this week and to those who gained a little just keep plugging along it can be done!!

06-22-2003, 09:20 AM
My goodness. I'm now on the original post of a check-in thread!!! :)

I lost one pound this week. I am about 1 pound away from being in ONEderland, as so many have called it! :)

I went out to dinner for my birthday yesterday and ate way too much, so I'll probably just eat my losing points. Now watch....the one week where I actually WANT to lose, I'm going to stay the same or gain! :bounce: :bounce:

Way to go padisneylover! 4.5 pounds! That's a LOT!!!! That's 18 sticks of butter!!! :)

Jiminy, vacations are good, but it's getting stuff back in order when they're over that matters, and it sounds like it's all in order! ;) If I can find a copy, I may buy the new Harry Potter book myself! :)

06-22-2003, 09:23 AM
I'm not checking in yet! BUT . . . it's been weeks and weeks since I did 'cause going so long w/ no success was so hard. I wasn't up to facing everyone. But I will, I promise, on Tuesday! OK???? I mean, it's not like you don't all already know what's been going on w/ me! LOL

06-22-2003, 09:28 AM
Congratulations padisneylover and SnackyStacky!
Holly - staying the same is awesome when you've taken a little "vacation." I didn't weigh in last week because I had an entire week where I wasn't following plan. I'm happy to say that this week, I got back to work and am down 2 pounds from 2 weeks ago. My total loss is now 39 pounds. Hoping to change my clippie next week. Congratulations to all the "losers", "maintainers", and those who have gained a bit but are still trying. :Pinkbounc

06-22-2003, 09:45 AM
I havent lost anymore pounds as I have put on muscle - but I can fasten my Jeans!!!!!:Pinkbounc

I refuse to mix proteins with carbs now and the inches are coming off. I gave up ....sob....weep.... danishes and chocolate!!!! :o

I eat salads with cheese or chicken, muesli for breakfast and snack on cherry tomatoes, peppers and cream cheese with celery. I still eat whenever I am hungry or peckish, I just dont fill up on bread, cookies, and sweet things. I feel good!!! and dont crave them anymore!!!! however I will reward myself with tonga toast at WDW;)

06-22-2003, 10:43 AM
Everyone is doing great.

I lost 2.2 lbs since my last weigh in! YEAH. That makes down 3.8 since I joined WISH and went back to Weight Watchers.

This will will be tough since I am out of town on business all week, but hopefully I can make good choices.

06-22-2003, 10:49 AM
202....cannot get below that 200 mark! Oh, well maybe next week.;)

06-22-2003, 10:51 AM
As you guys may have guess it's been moving slowly for me these last few weeks. And believe it or not i'm tickled to report my 1 pound loss this week. The body is a strange monster is all i have to say.LOL I'll surely take it and move on toward next week. I'm losing and at the moment i really don't care how fast is comes of as long as it's still coming off. :) so i'm at 56lbs gone for 178 this week from a start of 235.

Karyne- I so know how you feel about not posting. I skipped last week there was nothing really do jump about my weight have been bouncing all over the place. I can weight 179 on sunday and jump to 181 on monday then all week i loss that back to be 178 go figure? It's been silly but it will come off just hang in there and we are all here to help with ideas or just support. I have a strong backing of wish friends and they have helped me adjust to this slow losing the last few weeks. I was hard to go from an avg of 3lbs a week to none -1.5. So your in the right place stay strong and let us help you get past this. I will start by saying drink your water then when you've had all you can stand drink some more!

Jiminy- you are doing great and i totally understand your mind taking a vacation from your plan but get your butt back in line and come on girl!:)

Padineylover- You can so count all your wonderful 4.5 pounds! You are only.5 lb from your very first offical clippee! What a wonderful start you are offf to. Can't wait to see you back here next week posting a loss!

Dan- I wanted to tell you sooner but I'll do it now. A super big congradulations on your engagement. I just got chills reading your post about it. I can't tell you how much i wish you and your bride to be all the very best. How special and how wonderful you are so deserving of a life of wonderful happiest. I also wanted to wish you a very happy birthday too. My b-day is next saturday and i have already put in a special request to my daddy for his special angel food cake filled with lemon curd and baked mergerin on top!!!!!!!!OMG it's so heavley! I can't wait to get me a nice slice of that then I plan on getting it out of the house. Totally a red flag to keep around long.LOL I hope you enjoyed your birthday again and a big hug to you!

06-22-2003, 10:54 AM
Holly, good job on getting back in the groove. Remember to drink your water http://diettalk.com/forums/images/smilies/water.gif, have the right snacks ready, and you'll be on your weigh! My house is quiet, too. (Thanks, Harry!)

padisneylover, you are on your "weigh". Keep up the good work!

Dan! Birthdays are meant to be celebrated-so are engagements! http://diettalk.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Well done!

Karyn, I missed the original threads of your fat fast, but I have been reading. Good going!

Nancy, I know that you'll be changing that clippie next week. Great work!

magicmouse, weight is a number (and it can change from moment to moment, honest!), but being able to zip up those jeans is an accomplishment that can be seen Good for you! Now, can you explain why carbs and proteins don't mix http://diettalk.com/forums/images/smilies/question.gif (I've heard the opposite)? Thanks.

CarolA, you are headed in the right direction. Keep on truckin'.

Pooh Bear, congratulations on maintaining! Read Holly's comment about the water (I REALLY believe in that!) and the snacks. It'll come, just 'cause you are so determined!

Tammy, you have lost a lot really fast, so it makes sense that it might start to slow down now. I'm so glad that you are not getting discouraged (it can be easy to do that, too!) You have a wonderful attitude, and you are inspiration for my road to success.

I have officially lost a pound from last Sunday. : :Pinkbounc :bounce: I've got that dreadful cold, am taking junk to keep my head clear, lozenges to soothe the throat, and haven't been doing the double exercise plan the past four days, so I am very pleased with the loss.

Congratulations to everyone who visits here regularly. Lose, maintain or gain, we are all winners with the support and friendships extended to us. http://diettalk.com/forums/images/smilies/sweety.gif Have a WONDERFUL week!

06-22-2003, 10:58 AM
I have not been able to post to this thread in a VERY LONG TIME!!! I know that most of you already know my losses...But I am doing it again anyways...(you can just skip my post if you are sick of me...lol)!!

As of this morning...(I know Karyn..Please don't be mad at me for telling!!!) I am down 6.5 lbs since last Monday. My "official weigh in is on Tues AM. But I really wanted to post here!!

I have lost another 2.5 lbs on the second part of Phase II. I even got to wear my size 6 Long and Lean jeans from the GAP yesterday!!!...Okay So I will never be LONG...and may never be really Lean...BUT they fit and I wasn't busting out of them....LIFE IS GOOD!!

06-22-2003, 11:04 AM
The 'Fit for life' theory is that you should not mix carbs with proteins as that way the protein calories get stored as fat. If you eat protein alone, (eg Atkins) your body uses the protein calories up for energy, and it is not stored as fat. Something likethat anyway....It seems to work for me!!!!:D

06-22-2003, 11:45 AM
Hi all!

Wow, I made it to page 1...usually I am pretty late in checking in! Congrats to everyone for a great week, this is my favorite thread to read each week, I love to see how well you all are doing!

I lost 1 lb this very hectic week, and I am pleased as can be with that!:bounce: This is a total of 6lbs since joining, BUT I had an awful time finding something to wear to church to day, because everything was to big! I finally dug one of my "skinny" dresses--one of the ones I like, but havent been able to squeeze over my hips in over 2 years. I didnt think it would fit, but it was actually a little big! I was able to sqeeze into this garment and zip it up a month ago, but would never wear something that tight "out" in public--but when I tried it today, it was loose! So, 6 lbs is not a lot by the numbers, but it is working for me!

Great week to all!

06-22-2003, 11:50 AM
Congrats everyone on the weight loss!

And Dan!!! Why didn't you tell me you were getting married?!!

Congrats and when is the date?

My official check in is......TA DAH! I finally lost 1.5 lbs. Now, I weighed myself on the scales at Curves before my 30 day check, so it is not official there. But, I did lose something at least.

I am a very slow loser!!!

Keep up the good work you losers!!

06-22-2003, 12:55 PM
I am down another 2 pounds:Pinkbounc. I am getting a little bored with Atkins, so I'm thinking of ways to punch up our meals. It truly is the easiest way I've found to lose weight. Goals for next week: More walking, and uping my water intake. Great week to everyone!!

DVC Daisy
06-22-2003, 01:22 PM
Congratulations to all of the Wish losers! Way to go everyone, and congratulations on the engagement Dan :bounce:

I don't usually check in on this thread because I am not sure how the correct way to do it is - so I will just guess :D

Anyway, I lost another 2 pounds this week for a total of 8 since joining Wish. Eight pounds in 6 weeks seems quite slow, but it is "downward" so that is good enough for me! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Yea to all the Losers this week, you are all an inspiration.

mowsie dreamer
06-22-2003, 04:05 PM
Wow! What a big bunch of losers! I never thought it would be so much fun to hang out with the losers!:D :D :D

I'm not sure what is going on with me this week. My scales are showing a loss of 6 pounds, which is great if it's right, because it will put me at my 15 pound clippie. But I'm afraid something may be wrong with my scales so I'm going to wait until my official WW WI tomorrow.

Keep up the good work everyone! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

06-22-2003, 04:11 PM
OK, checking in here! I have been dealing with the same 2 pounds for going on 2 weeks. I hit 30 pounds, then gained 2 pounds, then lost 2 pounds and this morning, they found their way home again. UGH! I am sure this is the bloat fairy so, I am staying away from the scale until he leaves again.

Great Job everyone!

Have a great week!

06-22-2003, 08:56 PM
I think I will add walking to my plan also, DH walks and he has lost 15 pounds SO far! ;) Check with you all next Sunday.;)

06-23-2003, 01:54 AM
This will be my final WISH check in for awhile as I am off for a month of vacation. :teeth:

I didn't lose anything this week which is alright by me since I lost 5# last week. I am just beginning my maintaining early. :teeth:

Congrats to everyone on their hard work and determination, keep up the good work!

06-23-2003, 02:37 AM
It's been almost a week since I became an "official" WISHer and started my weight loss plan, and I lost 3.5 pounds! (At one point, it was 4.5, but I gained one back somehow, but that's okay...net loss is what counts.)

But today, I blew it BIG TIME! Went to a baby's first birthday party where there was a buffet, which had lots of things I can eat (I'm not on Atkins, but basically it's something where I shouldn't be eating starches.) I decided to have a little bit of potato salad and a few noodles. Then, I get to the end where the desserts are. Cheesecake for me wasn't worth cheating for, but the BREAD PUDDING! OMG, it was the best! Anyhow, I've since gotten up and brushed myself off and had an all-protein dinner. I'll get back on track the rest of this week.

My July 4th mini-goal was to lose 5 pounds, I'm hoping I can accomplish that early, like this week.

Tiggerlover, have a great trip going "home!" I know you'll do fine on maintenance! A great week to everyone else too, I'll definitely be checking in daily!

06-23-2003, 06:59 AM
Well. today is my official weigh in, and for the first time I gained 1 lb. But, my Tanita came to the rescue! I lost another point of body fat during the same week. :D I also wore a new pair of shorts yesterday, and they were rather loose (I bought them a little snug about 3 weeks ago) so I know I'm still losing inches. :bounce:

06-23-2003, 07:16 AM
I'm checking in just to congratulate all the losers. Job well done. Keep it going!!! You are doing great.

We are proud of you, Tracy. What an inspiration.

Also, congrats to Snackystacky on the impending marriage!!!!

I have no idea about my weight. The scale is acting like a yo-yo!!!!!!! I'm ready to send the stinkin' thing on it's way!!!!!!! The only thing I think happened is that because I have been so busy this weekend, I have not been able to drink my water. According to the cruel scale, I am up a couple of pounds. I am very upset but I have been able to pass on so many yummy foods & except for not having enough water & a cup of regular coffee (just one!), I have stuck solid to the induction plan. (sigh).

Oh well. I haven't weighed myself yet this morning so I may check in later.

06-23-2003, 07:23 AM
I havent checked in in awhile. I had lost two pounds last week but this week Im up a half a pound for a total loss of 26.5 pounds. I havent been really good on my diet since Thursday so I guess Im glad it was only half a pound. Im going to be super strict this week and until we leave on vacation on the 3rd. I would love to be able to get my 30 pound clippie before our vacation.

Congratulations to all our losers, maintainers, and hang in there those that have gained like me. We CAN and WILL do this!!!! Onward and Downward!!!

06-23-2003, 09:30 AM
I am sooooooo excited - in case you weren't able to tell :p I lost 2.5 lbs. this week, got myself a spiffy new clippie, are at the lowest weight I've been at in 2 years, am more than half-way to goal, and I found my motivation again!!

I had really been slipping for the past month but it's a new week, I've got a whole slew of new goals, and I'm ready to move closer to my goal. I've got less than 11 weeks till our disney trip and if I can continue an average weight loss of 1.5 lbs. then I will hopefully lose another 16.5 and be wearing all these sassy new clothes I've been buying!! That'll put me just a few pounds over goal but call me silly but it has always been a dream of mine to go to Disney thin and this is closer than I've ever been before!!

Congrats to everyone - whether it's inches or pounds we're all losers!! Have a fantastic time tiggerlover on your vacation - wow a whole month - that's great!! We'll be looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back!

06-23-2003, 09:36 AM
Well...I am weighing in early. I needed to adjust my weigh-in day since we will be going camping starting on the 30th. I usually weigh in on Thursday.

I lost another pound and 1 1/2 inches since Thursday. I have 3 more pounds to lose to get to my mini goal of 20 by hte 4th.(although I will have to weigh in on the 6th when we return)

06-23-2003, 10:02 AM
ONE more pound gone forever ! Or maybe that should be a ??? My new scale when I bought it a few weeks ago was always 3 pounds heavier than the Curves scale -- now this morning it seems like they are now almost the same ??? I know it's all relative, and it's been my new scale that I've been using the last few WI's, so I guess I'll just continue to move downward from here :D

Great job to everyone this past week :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Lost one of the two pounds I gained while traveling with work. I am back to 11 pounds.

06-23-2003, 11:21 AM
Hey Losers! Sounds like we are off to a great week. If you gained or maintained this week, keep the faith - the Bloat fairy will leave and you'll get a happy surprise!

I had a great week - another 3 lb loss!! I'm down 18 from my start and I got measured at Curves last Saturday. In 2 months, I've lost 18 inches (I missed my measure last month - I was in California).

I am so excited!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Have a great week!

06-23-2003, 02:12 PM
Congrats to all of the losers this week!!! You are doing GREAT!! :bounce: :bounce:

My weight is the same. I am staying OP and exercising 5-6 times a week, so I know good things are ahead!! I did go ahead and measure myself early (I typically measure once a month) and I am claiming those inches lost! 7.25 inches since June 1st!! Woo Hoo!! I see a new WDW trip wardrobe in my near future. ;) http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/red.gif http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/red.gif http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/red.gif http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/red.gif http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/red.gif http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/red.gif http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/red.gif

My first Check-In!

Had lost a good bit before joining wish, but lost 1 pound since last week - weight loss is really slowing down! Going to try to up the water and walking! Noticed after his summer trim that my dog is looking a little rotund! Take him with me for a fast walk and hopefully we'll both benefit!

Glad to be a member of the board! Love all the encouraging words and motivation not to mention the tips on recipes for low-carb diets - can get monotonous after a while so new recipes are really appreciated!!

06-23-2003, 02:27 PM
Isn't that happy news about Dan? A WISH wedding--so exciting!

Jiminy102 Maintaining your weight is so much better than gaining, isn't it? Good for you! Are you refocused and newly determined? Great! You're going to have a great week, I'm sure of it.

I really appreciate you posting our check in thread every week. I always look forward to reading about my WISH friends and seeing how well they have done.

padisneylover If you weigh in officially after you take the challenge you get to claim that loss. Isn't that great? You have almost earned your first 5 pound loss clip. Well done! Losing 4.5 pounds in one week is amazing progress.

I'm really glad that you are part of my support group. You have motivated me today to try even harder to reach my goal. I appreciate that very much. Be proud of yourself, you are on your way to goal and I'm very proud of you.

SnackyStacky You never cease to amaze me Dan. You lost another pound after eating "way too much" at your birthday dinner. You must not have eaten as much as you thought.

You keep me inspired and motivated, Dan, what a wonderful contribution you make to WISH. Congratulations on your engagement, I am very happy for you.

Kabuli1 Karyn, it's when you aren't losing that you need the check-in the most, it's really hard to try and help someone when you don't know they need help. The check-in thread isn't just for our WISH success stories, it's for people like me who haven't lost any real weight in a month. If your lack of success at losing weight makes you so unhappy that you can't post to the check-in thread, I feel very sad, and sort of blame myself. I hope that my tendency to being positive isn't what kept you from posting these past few weeks.

You are doing so well with your fat fast. You are continuing a plan that I know was very restrictive and no fun. I hope you see even more success at your official weigh in. I'm proud of you for tackling such an unpleasant eating plan and sticking with it. Your success is no surprise to me--I knew you could do this, you are really determined and strong.

NancyK You sure did a good job for someone who didn't stay on plan for an entire week. Way to go! Another two pounds gone forever. That 40 pound loss clipart is practically in your signature already.

I'm so proud of your determination. Be proud of yourself--you are a success!

magicmouse2 WOO HOO!!! Way to celebrate success, cutie. Love that little bouncy smilie. Most often our most satisfying symbol of success is that our clothing fits better. I would much rather add muscle and get smaller in size than to see a loss registered on a scale.

You are on your way to goal and you are just racing. Good job! I am so happy and proud for you.

CarolA Another 2.2 pounds gone forever, what terrific progress you are making. You are more than 2 pounds closer to goal and you have almost earned your five pound loss clipart.

Make the best choices you can make on your business trip. I'll bet you do great. You are determined and focused on your goal. I'm really proud of you, be proud of yourself!

Poohbear123 I sure hope you measured yourself when you began Atkins on June 6th. If you did, you can measure again today and see that you most likely lost inches instead of pounds. Is your clothing fitting better?

If you are staying strictly on plan and doing your workouts, then you are probably getting smaller even though you aren't getting lighter.

Hang in there, I'll bet you lose more next week. I think you're doing a great job with this. Thanks for posting here today even though you didn't show a loss on the scale last week.

You are determined and you are on your way to goal, don't allow the scale to cause you to become discouraged.

PartyofSix I love your positive attitude. Personally, I would be thrilled to see a loss on the scale--especially a whole pound. You have done so well and made so much progress to goal. I imagine the more you lose the slower the weight will come off. Congratulations on losing a whole pound, that is success.

You are on your way to goal and changing your eating habits for life. I'm proud of you for staying focused and determined. Be proud of yourself.

Debbie Wonderful! Another pound gone forever. Sorry to hear that you haven't been well. I hope that cold is gone soon and that you can get back to your workout routine, soon.

You are working your way to goal and helping to keep all of your WISH friends motivated. I'm so glad that you are part of my support group. I'm really proud of you, good job!

Luvinit You really have had wonderful success with the fat fast. I am so proud of you for being disciplined enough to stay with that eating plan. It is very restrictive and I know you were dreadfully carb deprived but you stayed with it--you didn't give up. You are a very strong and determined woman.

I'm proud of you--not because you lost 6.5 pounds--but because you identified a problem and set about correcting it. You jump started your weight loss and I know the method wasn't much fun. Be proud of yourself, you are doing great.

MontyMontyMOnty You are doing such a good job! Isn't it just the greatest feeling to try on a garment and find that it fits you loosely? I love when that happens. You must be losing more inches than pounds, that's my favorite kind of losing :teeth:

Another pound gone forever and clothing that is fitting looser, that's what I call success! Good job this week, I'm really happy and proud for you.

lisajl I happen to think that losing 1.5 pounds is really terrific. I would be thrilled to lose that much, I truly would. You are staying on plan and getting smaller. Good job. I'm anxious to see how many inches you have lost at Curves. When is your official check-in there?

I'm proud of you for staying focused and determined even though you lose slower than you might like. Good job. Be proud of yourself, you are a success!

NCRedding WOO HOO!!! Way to go! Another two pounds gone forever, that is wonderful success.

I hope you are feeling proud, I'm sure proud of you. Check out the low carb recipes at the top of page one, there are some yummy ones there. I particularly enjoy the fried chicken tenders, yummy.

Good job, this week. You are on your way to goal!

DVC Daisy Woo hoo!!! Look at you go. Losing 8 pounds in six weeks is 1.3 pounds a week (that would add up to 69 pounds in the span of a year), that is really excellent progress. You are doing great.

I'm glad you posted here this week. Seeing your progress helps keep me motivated. I'm so happy and proud for you. Be proud of yourself!

mowsie dreamer WOW! I sure hope your scales are right, I can't wait to hear your news this week after your official WW weigh in.

Kelsie That bloat fairy has sure gotten some good mileage out of two pounds, huh? I'm sure that two pounds will be gone by next week. In the meantime, don't give up, just stay faithful to plan and you will lose some fat along with the fluid.

tiggerlover Good for you, maintaining your weight this past week. Have a wonderful vacation. We'll see you when you get back. Have you prepared a plan for you month in the states? I'm sure you will do just fine. Just make the best choices you can.

LuvTigger WOW! Way to go! Losing 3.5 pounds in one week is just terrific. Well, now you know that bread pudding is not your friend ;) I'm glad that you have a new focus and are back on track.

You will do great this week, I'm sure.

froglady You ran the gamut of emotions on this post, LOL. From mad--to smiling--to bouncing :teeth:

It doesn't matter what the scale weight is as long as you are losing body fat. That is your goal, after all. Fitting into clothing that was previously snug is a very positive experience, isn't it? Proof that you are a success!

Be proud of yourself this week, we are all sure proud of you!

Jomrog Well, I guess you need a new scale, huh? Can't be keeping a scale that you can't trust ;) Here is a very important question: Have you measured yourself? Sometimes we replace fat with muscle but our inches decrease.

The whole point of losing weight is to get smaller. Did you get smaller? If you haven't measured yourself yet, you should do that. It could make the difference between becoming discouraged and staying focused. Honest :)

I'm proud of you for posting here today, even though your scale showed a gain. Sometimes it isn't fun to report a gain but you did it anyway. I'll bet it's just fat you changed to muscle, or the bloat fairy or a scale that fibs. Good luck next week, I'll bet you do great. Don't forget to measure yourself!

lvs_eeyore I wondered where you were last week. I'll bet that gain the scale showed isn't really a true gain. It's probably fluid retention caused by eating off plan foods.

You are refocused and newly determined now, that is excellent. I'll bet you reach that goal you set for yourself this week. We promise to help :) Be proud of yourself, you're doing a great job.

CrzyforPiglet Excellent! I love your exuberance and joy in your success. Losing 2.5 pounds in one week is just wonderful progress, look at you go!

I love that new clipart, it's very flattering, I don't imagine you will be keeping it very long, though, you will be trading up again very soon.

Half way to goal! How wonderful. I'm so happy and proud of you! With your new resolve and determination the rest of that weight you carry won't stand a chance. You are on your way and you're doing great!

mum4jenn WOO HOO!!! You are just tearing up that road to goal. Another pound gone forever and you lost another inch. That is what I call success.

You are doing so well with your weight loss endeavors. I have no doubt you will reach your goal you have set. I'm proud of your determination, be proud of yourself!

maryliz I think it's great that you've lost another pound. You are really doing well and you have a wonderfully positive attitude.

With your determination you will continue to succeed and be at your goal quicker than you might think. I love the way you celebrate your success and appreciate your progress toward goal. Celebrating our successes helps keep us motivated and strong. Be proud of yourself, we are all proud of you!

TnRobin Good for you! I'll bet you lose that second pound and more this coming week. You are back on track with a renewed sense of determination. That is excellent!

I'm proud of you Robin. You have not lost your focus and you aren't giving up even though you gained a couple of pounds while travelling. That is proof that you are going to reach your goal.

aurora19 Holy Cowabunga!!!! You lost 3 whole pounds in one week. More importantly, you have lost 18 inches since you began this new and healthy lifestyle. That is what I call success.

You have motivated me today, aurora19, that is such a nice thing to do. I'm so happy and proud for you, you are making wonderful progress. Be proud--you are on your way to goal for sure!

geetey Sounds like you are changing fat to muscle. Good for you! Maintaining your weight is excellent under those circumstances.

The most fun part is reading that you lost over 7 inches in three weeks. That is awesome progress! I'm so proud of you. I hope you are feeling proud of yourself, you are doing a great job!

What a motivating thing it is for me to read this check in thread each week. Thank you everyone who posted here, you probably won't believe how much it helps me to read about your progress.

I don't weigh in until Thursday.

DisneyMom Slow and steady wins the race. Losing a pound in a week is excellent progress. The more slowly you lose the better chance you have of keeping the weight off. This is really good news for me because I lose pretty slowly :teeth:

I'm really glad that you are part of my support group. WISH is a great help to me and reading about your progress is motivating for us all.

You sound determined and focused. You are going to be at goal before you know it with a positive attitude like yours. Good job. I'm proud of you, you are doing so well, be proud of yourself.

I lost one pound last week, bringing my total to 9. TOM was visiting, so I think the scales will be good to me when I weigh in next Saturday. ;) :D

I haven't measured, but my clothes are definitely fitting differently. I feel good!

06-23-2003, 03:08 PM
addicted_to_WDW Excellent! You lost a whole pound despite TOM? I'll bet you have a great weigh in next week.

You've almost earned that 10 pound loss clip, good job! You are doing great :)

I have had a really bad week and weighed this morning and have gained one pound. Worse have a lunch arranged with a group of friends on Friday and then a celebration at the weekend. I am hoping not to gain anymore and then get remotivated after next weekend (easier written than done).:(

06-23-2003, 05:50 PM
Sue & Co. Well, hopefully that pound is only fluid, but if it is a true gain you will take it off soon, I'm sure.

You need to come up with a plan for dealing with celebrations and lunches with friends. Low fat is a little more difficult to work around than high fat but it's not impossible.

Enjoy your celebrations and make the best choices you can, I'm sure you will do fine.

Good Monday Evening Everyone,

I managed to scrape out a one pound loss this week. I thought for sure I was up because I started some new medication which has the side effect of a slight weight gain. I'd love to know how much is considered a slight weight gain. Hopefully, not more than five pounds. The good thing is when I go off it in November I should have a rapid loss those few weeks.

I haven't done my WATP since Friday. The weekends seem so busy. Maybe I'll try and get one in tonight.

Have a great week everybody, and we'll see less of you next week.

Take care,

06-23-2003, 07:52 PM
Susan--Ontario Another pound gone forever that is excellent progress.

I sure hope that new medication doesn't make you gain more than 5 pounds. You're doing so well, though, perhaps your new eating and exercise plan will help keep the weight gain low.

Now, you run do that WATP. It doesn't take long and the hardest part is just getting started. Okay...off you go...now....;)

Ok, now I'm excited!! :D I did my official WW WI this afternoon and my scales were right! The WW scales showed a 7 lb loss, so I have officially lost 16.75 pounds! You better believe I rushed home so I could change into my 15 pound clippie!:D :D :D

I don't know what the explanation is for losing so much in one week. The BF was hanging around last week, and I wasn't showing a loss. BF is now departed (good riddance, I say!) so maybe that is the answer!

06-23-2003, 08:51 PM
I hereby volunteer to author a WISH faq or glossary. I don't know what WATP is. BF? What's Pilates? Measure what? Bust, hips, waist? Katholyn already explained ONEderland to me! Not familiar with Curves, either.

Weigh in for me is Wednesday. I'll be back then, but this thread is very inspiring!!!

06-23-2003, 09:08 PM
The 1st week is always the hardest and I wasn't smart planing on what time of the month to start WISH.

Well with the help of Tracy's kick and everyone else I made it though. Although I didn't lose and weight I did lose 1/2 from the week before measurement(I never measure on BLOAT week).

So onward and downward toward those size 14 pants(hopefully will be leaving the 18's behind shortly).

Anyone want to babysit so I can spend more time walking. I tried taking them with me but we have to stop and inspect every flower ant and bug. Although it's fun I don't get much exercise.
Guess I got to get out those sing a longs for some marching.

06-23-2003, 09:25 PM
I'm checking in.... but I don't have anything to report. Still stuck at the same weight, but feeling pretty good. Really enjoying Atkins way of eating - I'm never hungry, and I feel so free from cravings - for the 1st time in my whole life!

I like the way my clothes are getting looser - and I am determined to get the scale to budge at least a half pound this week...

I'm going to experiment with adding different foods and more frequent meals.

Good luck to everyone!

Hey, Katholyn, want to know a secret? DisneyMom didn't go into details in this note, but she's not such a "slow and steady" loser at all! I hope she won't care if I tell you this, but she's lost 69 pounds since January 1 of this year!!!! How tremendous is that?

I'm really glad she's here, because I can tell she's the kind of determined loser who will be a wonderful part of our support group.

(I hope you don't mind my telling this, DisneyMom. We LOVE to have stuff to celebrate on our weekly check in threads!):)

06-23-2003, 11:07 PM
This is my first check in, but I just joined on Sat. The scale said loss of .5 lbs, but it won't count until its been a week. (still doing Atkins, haven't changed yet)

For d.kurz:

I hereby volunteer to author a WISH faq or glossary. I don't know what WATP is. BF? What's Pilates? Measure what? Bust, hips, waist? Katholyn already explained ONEderland to me! Not familiar with Curves, either.

WATP: Walk Away the Pounds (exercise tapes)
BF: BoyFriend
Pilates: form of exercise (tapes of classes)
Curves: exercise "gym" Lots near me, the are popping up everywhere.

Anyone for the measure part? I don't want to know, I leave that to my seamstress.

06-23-2003, 11:12 PM

I will try to fill you in on what I know. WATP I think is Walk Away The Pounds. The BF I think is in regards to (that time of the month)

Most people measure bust waist and hips but the ones that go to curves have several more areas measured like calves, thighs, arm, and maybe even some more things. Curves is ans exersize place. If I understand it correctly there are 10 different stations /machines and you use each one for 30 seconds and then you move to the next one and so on.

Pilates is a form of yoga.

06-24-2003, 07:19 AM
Well, I weighed in today and my weight has stayed the same. Although I was a little let down, I did expect it since my weight loss has been so big up til now. I knew it had to level off and that is ok. I was hoping to earn my 20lb clippie by 7/4 but we'll see. I will be happy with just staying focused and continuing to be a loser. Last week I lost 5 1/4in. and this week I lost another 3 1/2in for a grand total in 2 weeks(forgot to measure the first week) of 8 3/4inches. I will say that last night at work someone noticed that I had lost some weight and that made me feel good.

06-24-2003, 08:15 AM
BF on this board means Bloat Fairy (not boyfriend)

Sometimes you will also hear about the Woosh Fairy (the one who takes all that water away.)

At Curves they measure arms, bust, waist, abdomen, hips, thighs & calves so if you don't lose weight, you can see that you are still making progress.

06-24-2003, 09:18 AM
213.5!!!!! WHOOPEEE:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

And a lesson learned. I've been walking 20+ miles a week for 3 weeks now and it does increase your appetite but what's worse is it deludes you into thinking you've "earned" that potato chip or that nutter bar when your 4 year old begs you to have one with her! And of course summer means COOKOUTS and last minute guests which usually means too much food in our family. So this week I'm committed to meeting my July 4th goal of being under 209!! NO MORE CHIPS, PIZZA, or CHEESEBURGERS until July 4th- where I'm sure there'll be plenty.

But for the really exciting news!! Those 20+ miles walked have paid off!!! In just one week I've lost 3.25 inches!!! And since April 16th when I first started measuring the totals are
Arms- loss of 2 inches!!
Thighs- loss of 3.5 inches!!
Calves- loss of .5 inches
Waist- loss of 8 inches!!!
Hips- loss of 6 inches!!!
Chest- loss of 4 inches!!!

Total loss-24 inches!!!

So I'm feeling pretty good- thanks all for the challenges and inspiration that got me this far- I'm right on track of hitting my DisneyWorld Goal of 196 by 9/23 and hope to actually surpass it!

06-24-2003, 09:33 AM
Thanks for the explanations, PaCo88, Mum4jenn and aurora 19!!

I may be SLOW, but I'm a LOSER!!!

06-24-2003, 11:46 AM
Yay!!!! Karyn, that is superific!!!!! You are inspiring me to try that phat phast. I just don't like most of the foods on the list. Let me know what you ate?

I am so proud of you. :sunny:

06-24-2003, 08:49 PM
mowsie dreamer WOO HOO!!! Look at you go! You are racing down that road to goal.

So the WHOOSH fairy visited you? Losing 7 pounds in one week is just fantastic progress. How exciting! I love that pretty new clipart in your signature. I'll bet you were beside yourself at weigh in, I would have been bouncing all over the place.

I know that you are feeling proud of yourself, this week. I'm just so happy and proud for you. You are such a success! Keep it up and you will be at goal before you know it.

tiggereyore You have a great attitude. Excellent! If you maintained your weight and did not see a gain even though it was "boat week" I'll bet that means that you actually lost fat but the fluid you are retaining is camouflaging that loss.

You're doing fine. Coming to WISH when you need a nudge or a kick is the proper procedure. When we help you we are also helping ourselves. So, you stayed on plan and helped motivate the rest of us. What a good WISHer you are. Pretty soon you will be a good "little" WISHer ;)

You will never know how much I wish that I could come and sit with your children while you walk...Vermont is just a little to far away from me. How old are they? Are they small enough that you could pull them in a wagon? You would burn even more calories than walking if you did that.

Mis4Mouse Well, I sure hope you have measured yourself. When you aren't losing pounds you are usually losing inches on Atkins. It's very important to measure yourself, it can make the difference between giving up from frustration and keeping a positive attitude. Besides, after you lose all the weight you want to lose wouldn't you like to know how many inches you lost too?

Hang in there. As long as your clothing is feeling better you are making progress. Keep on keeping on, you are getting smaller, isn't that great?

KathyTX If I knew that, I forgot. But I was thinking more along the lines of this past week. She has done a wonderful job losing weight, she is very successful :)

PamCo88 I'm looking forward to see how well you do on your official weigh in. I'm really glad you are here with us now :)

wdwnutze You lost 8 3/4 inches in just two weeks? WOW! Who cares what the scale says as long as you are getting smaller?

That just seems to be the way it works with Atkins. You lose the first few weeks and then you start losing inches. You are doing very, very well. Be proud of yourself--I'm sure proud of you.

lmhall2000 I love your exuberance and joy, Tara! You have done so well. You know that I feel it's better to lose inches than pounds. I'd rather be smaller than lighter, how about you?

I'll bet you have no trouble reaching your September goal. You are determined and motivated and nothing is going to stop you with that great attitude of yours. You have lost 24 inches...24...not only that but you learned a valuable lesson too--that is just awesome. I'm so proud of you :)

Kabuli1 You are so brave and so determined. I know that fat fast is not an easy plan to follow. How wonderful that you are only one pound away from your 15 pound loss clipart. You are just doing great!

I'm really proud of you Karyn, I'm not sure I would have the strength to follow the fat fast plan. I can't wait to see how much you lose at the end of phase II.

I don't weigh in until Thursday so I have nothing to report yet. Congratulations to all who lost inches or pounds or both. I love hanging around with all of you losers :)

06-24-2003, 08:54 PM
I lost 1.8 lbs this week.:bounce: I am now officially 1 lb. below pre-vacation week. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I'm also down into the 160's. Just barely mind you (169.8) but the 160's never the less. I haven't been there for several years. Less than 20 lbs. to go now to reach my WW's goal. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

06-24-2003, 09:25 PM
TCKK Way to go! Another 1.8 pounds gone forever. You are doing a great job with this weight loss stuff. Good job!

You are only 20 pounds away from goal. I'm so proud of you. You have worked hard and stayed determined and you are reaping the rewards.

Thanks for celebrating your success, you have made me smile :)

06-24-2003, 09:31 PM
I am excited to post today....3 pounds lost this week!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I have now lost a total of 19 on WISH (I'll have that clippie next week!!) and 24 lbs since 1/1.

06-24-2003, 09:39 PM
PAdisMOM WOO HOO!!!! Losing 3 pounds in one week is just wonderful progress.

I love it that you are celebrating. I love celebrating! Just think only one more pound to lose and you will be trading up your clipart. WOW!

I hope you are feeling proud of yourself, because I sure am feeling proud of you. Good job this week.

How does it feel to be successful?

06-25-2003, 01:19 AM
I lost half a pound this week. I was hoping for more but at least I've lost. I've stuck to my plan for 8 weeks now which is quite a long time for me. I'll try and drink more water this week and see if that heps.

Yay! WW meeting tonight and a weigh in. 1.4 lbs. GONE! That's 2.4 since I joined WISH and 35 total! I'm on my way!

Congrats to everyone this week! We can do it!

Christiana :)

06-25-2003, 08:47 AM
Hello all, this is my second day, however I just wanted to check in and make sure about the report days...will there be new thread each week? Thank you.

06-25-2003, 09:16 AM
Congrats to all the losers! :)
This week was so rough for me....and I managed to lose a pound! I can not believe it!!!!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
I was off WW on Fri night/Sat/Sun.......still watched portions and got some workouts in....I guess it helped!!!!

Thanks WISH friends for all your support.....

06-25-2003, 09:53 AM
First week of WW, I lost 9 pounds!!! Turns out the first day I got up the nerve to weigh myself, one week ago today, was the first day of my wildly unpredictable visit from ummm... my friend. So I may have been extra heavy that day, but I'm taking it!

Congrats to all the other losers, too! And a great big THANK YOU for the wonderful support!

Off to figure out that clip art!

06-25-2003, 10:31 AM
Well I'm late checking in and very ashamed - I know, don't beat myself up, but I have put on another 4 pounds. So that puts now only down 2 pounds from when I started. This also was a very rough week for me and I think I stress ate - last Friday was my mom's bday and I didn't make it to the cemetary and that bothered me, Saturday/Sunday I was at Relay for Life and stayed up all night (didn't sleep one ounce until 7:30am on Sunday and then it was only 3 hours). So my body has been off because I was eating through the night to stay awake and help with the stress - just was wrong. Actually I didn't eat alot of things but perhaps it was all the soda I was drinking to stay awake.

But now I'm trying to get back on it. And I just need to start finding time to get on that treadmill that is now sitting up in the bedroom collecting dust....BAD ME BAD ME!!!

CONGRATS to all that have lost this week and to all that have either gained or stayed the same - you came here and you are determined to keep going - good job!!!

Hey! I think that low carb thing is really great!--Although I too am getting bored with the choices I have been providing to myself. I am wearing another clippie! Yep! I did it even with a business seminar I was at this weekend. Lots of food and alcohol and I did step off (just a bit--I found a way to get around some of the choices on my plate) except on Sunday. I went back to plan and everyone couldn't believe that I turned my eating around so instantly. I passed up EVERYTHING bad.

While I am losing, I need to step up my exercising a lot more. I need to strengthen and improve cardio more.

DH attended the seminar with me and did not gain, but did not lose. I am surprised at that because guys usually fare better.

To all my WISH friends:
--Don't give up if you are not losing. I almost did. Keep at it. Even if you don't lose, you are doing something healthy for you. Find a way and make it work for you. You are worth it.
--If you are losing...keep on kepin on!

Thanks for your posts--good and bad. You have truly been an inspiration for me.

06-25-2003, 11:19 AM
Started a new WW group last Tuesday and I lost 4.6 this week--not bragging, cause it only leaves me 2 lbs to go till I'm back where I was before school got out. Oh, well, I'm back in the groove! My sister and her daughter are doing WW with me now, and they lost, too, and even more than me!

I'm proud of all us losers!!

06-25-2003, 12:28 PM
Dimplenose Losing .5 pounds is really good progress. If you lost only 1/2 pound each week for a month you would lose 26 pounds in a year. Just think, that is one half pound closer to goal, one half pound gone forever. I think you are doing great. Just keep a positive attitude and celebrate your successes, no matter how small you think they may be, and you will reach your goal.

You sound a little disappointed this week. You should be feeling proud of yourself. You are progressing toward goal. Don't get too concerned about a number on the scale. That number isn't your goal, it is just a symbol of success. Your goal is to get smaller and healthier. You are succeeding. If you have been working out regularly it will show up on the scale sometimes as a slow loss, sometimes even a gain because you are replacing fat with muscle which weighs more. It sounds like you are doing that and that is a good thing. I'm proud of you--I sure hope you can be proud of yourself, you are succeeding. Good job this week.

Drink more water and smile, sweetie, you are doing just great!

disnygoof I love your positive attitude and the way you celebrate your success! Another 1.4 pounds gone forever. Good job! You have really had some great success with your weight loss endeavors.

I'm feeling pretty proud of you, your positive attitude is keeping me motivating and that is just what I need today--motivation! Be proud of yourself, you are on your way to goal and you are doing a wonderful job.

jtbdas I'm so glad you are part of my support group :) Our own Jiminy102 posts a check in thread each week, usually on Sunday. I love it for as many people as possible to check in each week. Reading about everyone's progress helps me to stay motivated.

I'll bet you do great this week. Onward and downward!

kamgen You must have internalized those WW principles to be able to lose a pound even though you had a few off plan days. That is excellent!

Another pound gone forever, you are doing just great and I am very proud of you. I can't wait to meet you at the WISH meet. I'm really looking forward to it. Cyber {{{HUGS}}} are great but not nearly as nice as a {{{HUG}}} in person. Prepare to be soundly {{{HUGGED}}} because I'm a hugger :teeth:

Have a great week!

d.kurz WOW! Losing nine pounds in one week is just terrific progress. It sure gives you extra motivation to see that kind of loss doesn't it? Good job, sweetie!

I'm so happy and proud for you, Dorothy. You are on your way to goal, for sure, and you are doing so well. I hope you are feeling proud of yourself!

December99 Stop that! Stop saying "bad me". I won't stand for it, sweetie. You are such a special person and so important to my support group. I can't bear it to hear you sound so negative about yourself.

I know, don't beat myself up

You know that but you can't do that can you? Why is that do you think? You are a very competent and intelligent woman but you are not being kind to yourself, today. It's beginning to sound like I'm going to have to get in my little Escalade and make a road trip to Illinois but you sound like you are so upset with yourself that you wouldn't believe a word I said, even if I said it in person.

You just worked your little heart out on a very worthy charity raising funds to help save lives. Be proud of yourself. Do you have any idea how much I admire you for working so hard for a charity like this one? You didn't see me staying up all night working along with you, did you? You know what I think? I think I should be ashamed of myself and you should be proud of yourself.

You know what else I think? I think that working so hard and exhausting yourself for this cause isn't really why you needed to drink so much soda and eat off plan foods. Oh, that's what you told yourself....but I think that the true stress of this situation for you lies in the fact that you did this all in memory of your mother who you love so dearly and miss so very, very much. You are still dealing with your grief, Christine, you are still in pain. It takes a very long time to come to terms with a loss as huge as the loss of a mother. There is no timeline that says when you should be finished grieving, it's different for everyone. Don't rush yourself through this or you will make yourself ill.

Try not to feel guilty about not visiting the cemetery on your mother's birthday--don't punish yourself like that--just visit on another day. It's going to be alright, sweetie, it is just going to take time to get past the raw pain. I know that is a glib thing to say but it is true. {{{HUGS}}}

You have learned a very valuable lesson though, haven't you? You have learned that you need to plan carefully for a weekend like the one you just had. Plan what you will eat, plan what you will drink and take a cooler to make sure all of that is available to you when you need it.

You are back with us now, Christine. The weekend is past. You can focus on your goal once again and I'll bet that after a week of being back on plan you will see a lot of those recently gained pounds go away. Hang in there. You are back on the road to goal now, sweetie and that is truly all that matters. One day at a time, my friend.

Tiger Lily 03 Look at that beautiful no clipart! Way to go! You are definitely on the way to goal. You are doing a great job, too.

I love controlled carbohydrate eating, too. I think it is just about the easiest thing to stick with when you travel, it is for me, at least. So are you following the Atkins nutritional plan or another low carb plan?

I'm really proud of you for not giving up. One thing I know for sure, if we give up and quit trying, we will never reach our goal. Be proud of yourself, sweetie. You are doing so well. I love your positive attitude!

campingcorgi You should be proud of yourself. You are back on track and headed to goal. Having someone in the family following the same plan you follow is a great help, isn't it?

Good for you for taking control and getting back on plan. You are going to do do great, I'm sure of it. You are newly determined and motivated now. That is key to success and you are succeeding already. I'm really proud of you for not giving up, sweetie. Way to go!

I weigh in tomorrow. My rings are still cutting into my fingers, so who knows what tomorrow will bring. I know one thing for sure, even if I gain weight, everyone who has posted to the check in thread this week has proven to me that quitting is not an option. Besides, I plan to eat this way the rest of my life, what good would it do me to be impatient to reach goal? It's not like I am going to be eating offplan foods in the future, this is my plan for life :)

Onward and downward, my friends. You keep me motivated!

lots has happened already this week and it's only Wed!! I admit I have cut down on my pc time and probably will until school starts back up. You know, pools, flowers, bike rides, just not enough time for it all:smooth:

Anyhow, I reluctantly WI this morning after yoga and discovered I am still maintaining 141. Oops, I just mistyped that at 151 and no, that would've even been too low last summer where I spent the summer around 155. So, even though I didn't lose, I'm thrilled that this summer I'm approx 15 lbs lighter than last (my weight fluctuated alot pre-WISH)

I have tried to kick back into gear on a challenge with TigH until July 4 and I was hopeful that may put me into the 130s, which I haven't been for almost 8 years! Well, if not by then, it will come. But I'm secretly WISHing for a visit from the Woosh Fairy before then!!

Tracy - you're into your size 6s!!!! yeeee haaawww!!!! well I'll be darned, I didn't realize you were such a tiny thing after being sooo upset about not losing. no wonder, you just don't have much more to lose!!!

Dec99 - Katholyn took most of the words out of my mouth (well I might not have been quite so windy :)) , but you are doing the best you can with each day. Remember, every day is a gift and should be treated as such. Life is just way tooo short to spend any amount of time or energy being so hard on yourself! Take a deep breath, the upswing is just around the corner my friend:)

Dan - Congratulations you big stud muffin! My 10 yr DD saw your before and after and was thinking you are looking like a real cutie :)

ok - that's all my memory could hold! I caught there was several other maintainers with me this week - ooooooohhhhh Woosh Fairy........................(in my loud overly-enunciated voice due to her hearing problem)

onward and downward!!!!!!

MaMudduck Having people ask if you have lost weight is more exciting than seeing a smaller number on a scale, at least it is for me.

Good for you for starting to weight train. That is going to help you get smaller faster. It may not make you lose faster, since muscle weighs more than fat but you are definitely going to be looking smaller. That's your true goal, after all. :)

I'm proud of you for not giving up. You are so determined and you are truly doing just great. You are going to reach your goal, it is just taking you a little longer than you hoped. You're going to get there, though, you just wait and see :) I'll bet you get to trade up to a new clippie next week.

Onward and downward!

Congratulations to all the losers, and everyone keep up the good work! Today was my weigh in and I am down 2 pounds for a total of 8!! I really can't see any difference in myself, but I tried on a pair of pants I haven't been able to fit into for almost 2 years and while they still look a little tight, I can get into them! And a friend of mine asked me if I had lost weight!! I when I first joined WISH, I never thought I would be breathing down the neck of the 10 Clippie :D

06-26-2003, 11:17 AM
giggles221 I knew you were going to be a success! I told you didn't I?

You have lost another 2 pounds, what marvelous progress you are making. Good for you! You're going to have that 10 pound loss clipart very soon, I'm sure.

It's a wonderful feeling to try on an article of clothing and find it fits better. I'm proud of you, sweetie. Be proud of yourself.

This is my first check in here at WISH. I started WW last year and lost 37 miles from January till Memorial Day. I went away for a weekend and just didn't get back into the grove. I gained weight slowly over the winter and DH went to Kuwait in March. I lost 5 pounds, but then once things started going better for us over there I gained weight from the stress of him being gone and missing him. I gained a total of 29 pounds back.

I started back on 6/2/03 and I have done very well this time. I lost 5.4 pounds the first week, 2.2 the second week and

3.6 this week!!

I even went to Virginia this past weekend to Bush Gardens. I was really afraid I would blow it! I did very well bringing my WW program on my palm pilot. I have all the food points on it and I used it while in the park. I kept it in my fanny pack.

We go to Boston for the 4th of July, and I am more confident now that I can do it. I also ate out 2 times this week and I stayed within my points for the day. Yeah!

I am so glad I found this part of the bulletin boards. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

06-26-2003, 09:39 PM
I've stayed the same for the past couple of weeks now. I suppose I should be happy I haven't gained, but I'm still hanging in there waiting for next few lbs to come off. Tonight it was just way too humid for walking, but I'll do my indoor exercises in the AC house.

06-26-2003, 10:29 PM
I'm not going to make a WI this week due to my work schedule and my girls dance scedule so I did a WI at home and it shows about a 3.5 pound weight loss. So add that to my 27 from last week and I have hit my first personal mini-goal! (which was 30 pounds by July 13th when we leave for NYC)

I feel really bad not being able to do an "official" result this week and I really need the structure of those meetings...but I just can't do it this week. One good thing is my scale is usually very close to the WW scale...I usually weigh myself just before I go to WI to see if I should be nervous about getting on their scale!

I should change my clippie to a 25 but I'm going to wait until next weeks official WI.

This is great news Nancy :)

I have to say that since being at Disneyland Paris last week and NOT keeping to my diet I have maintained my weightloss to 2lb. Haven't done any exercise this week either due to being in a really lazy lazy mood - back to the programme ;)

Go me, Go me!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Down .5 a pound for a total loss of 21 pounds since March 9th! Woo-hoo!

I read this thread everytime I see that someone else has posted. What an amazing group of people we are! I don't know what I'd do without this wonderful support system. To everyone who posts on this thread - I always have a great mental celebration for you if you've lost or maintained, and for the gainers, I am always sending pixie dust your way for a better WI next week! Hang in there!

My loss really pleases me as I had three cheat meals last weekend and a sneak weigh on Tuesday (I think) showed me up from last weeks WI (thanks to lots of sodium, I think). Anyway, I've been cheat free since Monday and plan to be cheat free until Friday the 4th, woo-hoo! Poor Ross is up 1 pound, I think he is really upset too (that puts him at 200.5, when last week he was down to 199.5) Poor guy, but he has lost some in the inches department, so he should be happy! I know if he can stay cheat free with me (and I'll do my darndest to make sure he does, but I can't stop him if he wants to have a drink or a nibble) then I know he will show a loss next Friday.

06-27-2003, 08:18 AM
Last weekend I bought a new scale that also shows ounces just so that I could inspire myself with just loosing the ounces. I also purchased the Curves books and I have followed there recommended eating from Monday through today and I am happy to report that I have lost 4 lbs. This is the most I have lost since my first week. My total lost is now 18 lbs and I am seeing my new clippie in sight.

Everyone did a great job this week congrats and thanks for the inspiration that keeps me going.

Happy to report that I am down .5pds for the week, 8.5 since starting WISH and 37 total. I am not surprised with the amount lost this week as I haven't been exercising as much this week. I also didn't pick the best meal to have for dinner last night before WI (Mexican). It wasn't a scheduled meal, but that's OK. I set a mini-goal to have my 10# clippie by July 4th, so that means that I need to be down 1.5pds next week. Time to get back into more exercise and I will be more careful of our dinner the night before WI next week.:D

I love this thread, it is so inspiring to read all of your reports. Even if there is no loss or a slight gain, we are all in this together and have to remember that every week isn't going to show the progress like we would like to see. We just can't let it get us down and know that we are beginning a new week of WI's.

Have a great OP weekend everyone!

Happy Frrriiiiidaaaay!
I just thought I would check in to see how everyone else is fairing. I see a lot of progress here and how wonderful! Progress in losing -- yippeee!-- for the losers. Progress in staying in the game even if some didn't lose -- yippeee! -- for all who are not giving up!
Get your mind in it! Exercise your body and mind! Stay on target! WE can do it!
Now, get going.
:p :p :p

I'm checking in for the 1st time in a couple weeks after falling off the wagon....

No loss for me this week, but that's OK, I still feel great knowing that I'm back on the right track. I have regained a lot of motivation and I feel confident the pounds will be coming off eventually.

Great job out there to everyone who lost, maintained or just learned from a mistake! You're all beautiful! :)

06-27-2003, 09:56 PM
<marquee>I LOST 3.8 POUNDS THIS WEEK!!!!!</marquee>

sorry, but I wanted to make the announcement worth my efforts!;) :) :p :)

2-lbs. lost this week, and one inch lost.

Congratulations to everyone that are losing, maintaining, and trying to lose weight. Onward and downward.

God bless you, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

ohMom I'm not sure how I missed you before, but I found you now so hopefully no harm done?

Well, I will do my best to not be too windy :) Maintaining your weight is excellent. Not as much fun as losing but still excellent. Good job.

Was that less "windy" enough? I can cut that down to just "good job", if you prefer...or perhaps just "good". Would you prefer a simple smilie face? Let me know Molli. I aim to please ;)

MelanieC Losing 3.6 pounds is excellent progress. Good for you! I know how you feel about gaining so much weight back again. I've been there, I've done that but I have decided that I'm not going to do that anymore. Now that I have WISH and my WISH friends, I am convinced that I won't do that again.

You are doing great Melanie. Your dh is home and safe with you. Now you can focus on taking care of yourself, again. You are going to be so successful--I'm just sure of it.

What an accomplishment to go to Busch Gardens and stay on plan! I am impressed and so proud of you. Be proud of yourself, you are on your way to goal!

perfectmatch300 You know, Nancy, you have sure faced a lot of challenges the past month. All of that travelling and house hunting, very stressful. But you are still maintaining your weight. That is excellent!

Be proud of yourself, cutie. You are making progress, even if you aren't losing, maintaining your weight is progress--it proves you're going to be able to keep this weight off after you have finished losing the weight you want to lose.

Step up on that exercise. Get yourself a WATP tape, that works really well in the airconditioned house :) Hang in there, my friend. I'm proud of you posting to the check in thread although you had no loss to report. That proves you are motivated and that motivates me. Thanks!

Nancy WOO HOOO!!!! Another 3.5 pounds gone forever! What a success you are, whether or not the weigh in was official. Did this make you proud of yourself? I sure hope so because I'm certainly proud of you.

I know you are very busy, sweetie, but try to make sure you take time for yourself while you are so busy with your girls. You deserve to take time for yourself and it will make you an even better mom than you already are :)

Fantasia Sam I think it's great that you went to DLP and didn't gain. Good job.

You're back home now, though. So get thee to slimming world and start working out again. You are back on track and you are going to do just great! {{{HUGS}}}

TigH I love your positive attitude. Losing .5 pounds even though you had three cheat meals last week is truly awesome progress, Good job.

You are just so close to goal. You will be there sooner than you think. Just don't get too impatient and you might want to think about having fewer cheat meals every week. On the other hand, you had 3 cheat meals and lost weight anyway. You're doing something right! Good job this week, Karen.

lynr Way to go, sweetie! Losing 4 pounds in one week is just awesome progress. You are sounding more positive and that is excellent.

I'm so proud of you for finding a solution to your lack of weight gain. You just took control and now you are seeing success, good for you! Be proud of yourself :)

jimmytammy Well, smarty. You didn't exercise enough and you ate an off plan meal before weigh in and you still lost 1/2 pound. There is just no stopping you, is there, sweetie? You are just determined and on your way to goal.

Just think how much faster you will lose when you do your workouts on schedule? You're doing just great, cutie and you will do even better when you start doing all of your workouts again. I'm glad you are part of my support group, your positive attitude keeps me motivated!

nicolep91 I'm so proud of you for posting to the check in thread this week, even though you didn't see a loss. When you do that you help us and help yourself too. Good job.

You sound newly determined and refocused. You're back on track and working your way to goal. That is excellent progress. Don't stay away so long again, okay? We really miss you when you don't visit.

anniet Excellent!!! Look at you go, sweetie. You lost 3.8 pounds in one week? What terrific progress and success.

I sure hope you are feeling proud of yourself, we're all proud of you~

RaySharpton Another 2 pounds gone forever! You are really making great progress, Ray.

Another inch gone, too. That is terrific, you are getting lighter and smaller and closer to your goal. Be proud of yourself. You are a great success and I'm proud of you.

I forgot to post my own progress this Thursday. I lost 3 pounds :bounce: I lose pretty slowly but I stay on my plan anyway because I know I'm getting healthier too.

I got a new clipart and I'm very proud of myself!

Onward and downward, my friends. I can't believe that another week is over. It's time for the new check in thread already.

06-28-2003, 09:04 PM
I get to post on this thread finally! Lost 3lbs since last time I was weighed. Yahoo!!
weight loss since May 19 - 7lbs; add that to last fall's 15 lbs

Total weight loss of 22 pounds!
12 left to go (doc wants me at 130)

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

06-28-2003, 09:23 PM
Way to go, Barb! 3 pounds gone forever. You only need to lose two more and you can "trade up" to a new clipart :)

You are doing great! I sure hope you are feeling proud of yourself. You are a wonderful success and I'm sure proud of you.

You know, you can post to this thread when you maintain your weight too, or even if you gain. It's very helpful to do that.

06-28-2003, 10:02 PM
time for me to say I forgot to check-in yesterday - I was too busy going to see our neice's new baby - yeah the one we had the baby shower for and I had those delicious petit fours :D well he's here now and guess what - he was suppose to be a she!! Pink nursery and frills everywhere - so they have some work cut-out for them real soon!!

Okay, okay, okay I was stalling - since I don't get to say that I am a loser this week BUT staying the same is okay by me - I am hoping for that mini-goal this next week - we'll see - I am trying really hard but you know if I don't make it - I will sometime and I will just keep pressing onward and downward!

06-28-2003, 10:46 PM
A little (okay a lot) late! I wasn't around for my normal weigh in on Wed. so I went Thursday. I lost 4 lbs! I had gained 1.6 the week before for a net loss of 2.6 making my total an even 40 lbs! I've been stuck at 35 for so long it felt great to break out of that range!

I didn't do so well eating yesterday (had a double scoop ice cream cone!!) so I'm working hard to not gain some back next week. We spent the day at a local amusement park so I splurged!

Congratulations to everyone for all their successes and progress!

06-29-2003, 02:28 AM
I had a bad week and ate a few things I knew I shouldn't have but at least I didn't gain anything. My weight stayed the same. I'm sure I should go back to induction but my baby is turning 1 this week so we're having a cook-out and then next week we're off to WDW for two weeks. I guess I'll just have to be as good as I can for the next three weeks and go back on induction when I get back.

Good luck everyone. This is gonna be a hard week.

06-29-2003, 06:10 AM
Katholyn - he he he, you crack me up! You may be windy with me anytime b/c your words inspire me so! I just couldn't resist picking on you, can you forgive me? Tell you what, I'll bring my DDs to the MI WISH meet and share their hugs with you? OK? friends? :)

Congrats on your new clippie! I just knew WATP would be good to you!

06-29-2003, 08:30 AM
200 and 1/4 pounds!  STILL cannot get BELOW 200!!  So, I guess we will see what next Sunday brings!;) Oh, I lost 2 since last Sunday. Total: 10 Pounds!

06-29-2003, 01:20 PM
AlreadyexcitedGrammy Maintaining your weight is great. So you are a winner instead of a loser this week. Both are excellent, don't you think? Maintaining is so much more fun than gaining :teeth:

Good job, Bebr. You always make me smile, I'm imagining all the pink and frilly things being returned for that, oh so masculine, baby blue for boys :teeth:

You are an important part of my support group, Bebr. I can't wait to meet you in person.

Liz I'm just a tad confused. So you lost 4 pounds but you didn't really? You actually lost 2.6 pounds? Well, woo hoo!!! anway. You are a loser and a success and I'm proud of you.

One teeny question though. You've lost a total of 40 pounds on WISH and you didn't change your clippie? I would have changed that thing so fast that the technical support board would be spinning still.

You must be getting pretty close to goal now, you're doing great! Be proud of yourself.

cart-mom Well, you're pretty calm about not gaining after you had a bad week. That's a great accomplishment. You must have been subconsciously controlling your portions. Either that or you weren't as bad as you thought you were.

Maintaining your weight is good. Have a wonderful birthday celebration and trip. Just make the best choices you can and don't obsess about what you eat.

As you said, just go back on induction when you get back and you will be fine.

ohMom Friends forever, sweetie. I couldn't resist picking on you either. Can't wait to meet you. I'll be the plump one(that sounds better than fat, doesn't it?) who looks much older than everyone else, you won't be able to miss me :)

Can't wait to have {{{HUGS}}} from your girls, but mostly I'm looking forward to having a real live {{{HUG}}} from you, sweetie.

Poohbear123 Wait, you are confusing me. Have you lost 10 pounds since taking the challenge? You need to trade up your clipart, sweetie.

GOOD JOB! You lost two pounds, that is awesome progress and I'm very proud of you.

Have you measured yourself? I know some WISHers don't like doing that but if you are following the Atkins plan it is especially important to do that. When you aren't losing pounds you are usually losing inches. That is an important and valuable measure of success. More significant than seeing the number on a scale change.

You're doing great! Be proud of yourself, I'm certainly proud of you.

The week is over already? Where does the time go? Thanks for checking in this week everyone. Reading this thread is a positive and powerful motivator for me.

06-29-2003, 04:50 PM
I started off on the Low Fat diet, lost 8 and gained it back. When I started Atkins I was 210. So, I lost 8 and than bounced up 2 and now I am back down to 200 and 1/4 pounds, so yes I guess I lost 10 all together.  Sorry to confuse you, and Oh, how do I get that 10 pound clippie?
