Staying a Coronado---- july18-25!!!

What is the best way to pay for stuff like food-?? Carry cash or debit card????

No matter where we are in Disney we charge everything to our room, it lets us keep track of how much we're spending & we don't have to carry anything else but the card with us. (the only places that don't accept the room cards are the vendors throughout the parks) You just leave a credit card & they link your room card to it. They give a limit & you can charge up to a certain amount & when you are "maxed out" they forward the charge to your credit card & you start over. But you don't HAVE to charge it to your credit card you can pay in cash too. For our last trip we were there for 2 weeks so we were spending a good amount on food & about halfway through I wanted to bring the total down without having to charge it all, so I went to an ATM & paid a good amount of it in cash. Then at the end of the trip my BF put the rest on his credit card. We could have paid the whole thing in cash or credit, it depends on how you like to handle it. We have found that this is the best way to pay for everything in WDW- we only carry a little bit of cash on us for things like popcorn, or a quick soda- but even that-- most times you can walk 10 more steps & end up somewhere that you can use the card! This works really great for us-- I highly recommend it! Hve fun!:D

We find it much easier to charge everything to the room card. That way you have a record of your spending without having to hold on to every little receipt. It shows us exactly how much we are spending.

We usually just charge everything to the room key and carry only a small amount of cash for places that aren't linked to the system (i.e. mobile vendor cards for light up toys or a mickey bar)

I used my CC for all the purchases I can. But I also carry cash for things such as popcorn or water.

We carry cash for snacks and lunches at the counter service places and use our AMEX for everything else. We pay it off in full every month and the purchases earn us miles for free plane tickets. :p

FYI - you can use you AMEX (or other credit card) at counter service places, so why not get your points for those too? :D

All of that change I have been saving has been magically turning into Disney Dollars! Yeah! At least I can use them there! The BF was all paranoid that it was a waste-but we can use them on the Wonder too...

We charge everything to our room and have spending money for miscellaneous items such ase icecream, soda's, popcorn,etc.

We must be the only family that doesn't use our cc on vacation. We buy everything with cash. If we run low, we use the ATM. The only drawback with the ATM is that at the CR they charge $5.00 for each transaction(ouch!!). I'm guessing thats the norm. for using them at disney.
