Update on smoke/ highway visability please????

I heard there was a huge accident on I 4 which they are blaming on poor visibility due to the smoke from fires. Can anyone update us as to the conditions there? I sure hope the route from the airport to HRH is clear !!! I have asthma and want to be prepared. THanks, M

The crash was near Haines City, a good ways from Orlando, and the highway is now reopen.

The smoke/haze problem seems to be more acute at Disney which has a lot of undeveloped scrub land around it. Universal shouldn't be affected.

The smoke problems have primarily been to the west and southwest of town. You have been able to smell it and there has been haze over at U.O.. The conditions can change based on the wind direction, but Universal has not been in the direct path of the worst smoke.

This weekend I-4 and the Turnpike were both closed due to the heavy smoke. The best advice is to be prepared.
