I'm 5'8" and i have been searching for my GOAL weight in my head anyways. Now that i'm over half way (i'm sure of that) to my goal where do i want to be? I'm thinking somewhere between 135-145. I remember about 12 years ago i was 135 and a size 9 but i also remember my family saying i look "poor" at that weight. I'm large boned. Personally I will be thrilled to get into a comfy size 10 (sorry glo you still inspire me to go for 8 but i'm not petite i don't think i could really go there:) ) I don't know where to expect to hit a size 10 as far as weight. Now i'm 179 and i can wear a loose 14 and tommy jeans 12's all fit me good. I think when i get to 160 i'll be better able to gauge my goal weight and set myself up for my last leg of my journey to getting to goal. What's your thoughts on your goals and weight for the long legs of the boards? I would love to read your post and hopefully i could get a better idea of what is suitable for me.

I'm 5'6" and am aiming for 140-150. I have a large frame, and looked and felt great at 140. I'm much older now, so once I get to 150 I'll reassess what I think I need.

When I started this leg of the journey back in January I wasn't originally approaching this path to lose weight. I was aiming at improved health in several areas.

I met with both my doctor and a dietician I was referred to. Based on my bone structure, height (5'7"), and the recommendations from the BMI charts related to cardiac health my goal was set.

My personal original goal was 150 - that would be 100 pounds less than my recorded heaviest weight, and 8 pounds within the top end of the BMI recommendations for low cardiac risk. At the time I felt the 135 pound "ideal" weight for my height, bone structure, etc. was not possible. Since then, as the weight has come off, I have revised my orginal plan to shoot for that 135 pounds. Right now I'd like to get there before I see the doc again in October. I have about 5-6 pounds (depending on the scale's mood this week! ;) ) to get to the 150; 20-21 for the 135. So it is definitely doable.

I was at a series of graduation open houses over the weekend wearing some of my new clothes and a couple of dear friends asked how much more I was planning to lose. They expressed some concern that I was going too far...Trust me there is still plenty left to take another 20 off without it being too much.

I do appreciate their input though. And will keep an eye on things so that I don't get to the point I look ill.

I'm 5' 8" and I am almost at my goal. I wanted to be a comfy size 8, and now I am wearing a bigger cut size 8. I would like to fit into any size 8 with no problem! ;) I weigh 142 right now, I'd like to get to 139 to make it to the 20 pound clippie and to say I'm in the 130s again (that would be a first since around 1988 or 1989!) If I happen to make it to 134 (that would be an even 25 pound loss) that would be cool too, but that isn't a goal right now! :)

I am 5'6 and although my mini goal is around 140 my ultimate goal is 130 but I haven't been that slim since my teenage years! Anything under 140 would make me happy though I will see how it goes.

I'm with Rhonda on this. I'm between 5'7" and 5'8" and if I could get down to (and stay) between 165-170, I'd be thrilled!!

I'm 5'6", and the thinnest I've ever been, as an adult, is 135ish when I got married. Now, translate that to my magic scale, and that would be equal to 130 lbs. I bet I could get down to that weight, but I don't think I could hold it. So, I think 140 lbs. would be most excellent for me. 150 is my first goal. I'll see what that looks like.

I'm 5' 8 1/2"............I would love to be 150 (haven't seen that n many, many years....and then it was just as I was passing it by ;) )

I am 5'7" and I would really love to get under 150. However...the BMI charts say that I would be considered at a "healthy weight" at 160. Anything over that is "overweight".So when I get to 160 I will be happy but I will try to go under so I will have a little leeway!!

I'm 5'7' and would like to reach 140. I have a ways to go though.

I'm 5'6" and shooting for 150-160. That's how much I weighed when DH and I started dating, and he weighed 184 which was obnoxiously small for him. Huge head, chicken legs, no butt.....you get the picture. Well, we are both considerably larger now. I hope to reach my goal in a year, 39.5 lbs so far!

I'm 5' 6" and I weigh 148 now, but my goal is 140. I hate to diet, though, so I have to rely on all the exercise I do to get the lbs. off, and that sometimes takes a while, but every year when I go to my annual Drs. visit and get weighed, I always have lost, so I try not to worry about. I started off up at 190, a size 18, and now I'm a size 10, so I'm happy with myself now, lol!

I'm 5'10", medium build, and shooting for 150ish.

(That's probably about equivalent to 140 at 5'8", 130 at 5'6", 120 at 5'4", 110 at 5'2")

My WW "Lifetime" goal weight is 165, so I definitely want to get under that and stay there, but that's a bit too large for my frame. 140 and under is too thin for me, I look bony at that weight (it's been a long time since I had to worry about that!)

At 150 I'm a comfortable size 10, and have enough padding so my family doesn't worry that I'm sick, but still thin enough to have lots of energy and feel good in my clothes.

I'm 5 9-1/2 and shooting for 150 pounds - was 135 and size 10 when I got married back in 1981! Doctor told me that I will probably be pleasantly surprised when I start to get closer to my goal as I will be a smaller dress size at a larger scale number than before I gained weight. He explained that we develop a good bit of muscle to carry around all this weight and once we lose the fat, that muscle can cause us to weigh more at a smaller size than we expect.

Weight on January 1 (gulp, can't believe I'm admitting this) was 306. As of this morning, 237 - goal - 150!!!

DisneyMom, you are an inspiration. :)

I'm about 5'8" and my dream goal is to be in a comfortable, off the rack, tuck in my shirt, size 10. The last time I was that weight I was 145 lbs. but I got there basically by starving myself in college and not really exercising so my mom also thought I looked "sick". What changed my body perception is in college I knew a real athletic girl who was about a size 8 or 10 and my height but because she was muscular she weighed around 160. So while I am shooting to be 145 lbs. weight wise if I find I can fit into size 10 at say 150 then that's what my goal will be. I'm at 166 right now and am a clean size 14 but can get into some 12's so I'm not sure I need to lose another 21 lbs. to make my ultimate goal - hope that makes sense!!

I'm 5' 5" and my goal is 129. However, last year I made it down to 134 and managed to stay there for quite a while. I looked pretty good but still had a bit of a tummy I would have like to lose. Well, now I'm up to 143 and would LOVE to get back to 134! I where a size 8 right (sometimes a 10 in certain brands, don't you hate it how they all fit so differently?) and would like to get back into my size 6 pants that are hanging in my closet collecting dust.

My short term goal is to reach 134 by August and then 129 by my vacation in November. I was slacking off for a while but I'm back in the groove now!

I'm 5'6 and my goal weight is 130. I haven't seen that number on the scale since I got married in 1992. I would be happy in a size 10, even if I end up weighing more than 130.
