Oooooh! I get to be first!

I am so proud this morning. Not only did I lose 4, count 'em, 4, pounds, I reached my mini-goal of ONEderland 2 weeks ahead of schedule! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

AND! I get my new clippie. 9 more pounds, and it will have to change colour!

AND! I am that much closer to my second 10% goal. So that is my new mini goal. I don't know if I can do it by July 1 (or 4th ;) ), but I shall continue to do my best.

Holly, that is terrific about your loss. (That still sounds strange at times, don't you think?) Keep up the good work!

Good luck to everyone on this lovely day!

06-15-2003, 09:04 AM
Oh Boy I am down 2 pounds that makes my total 22 since march 23

06-15-2003, 09:19 AM
I am down another 3, even though I'm on maintenance! That was quite a shock considering that big platter of chicken fingers I ate! OY!!!!!

I'm STILL searching for that elusive balance that will result in either staying the same or a gain that is no more than 2 pounds.

On the plus side, I have hit that lovely even number....150! I've lost 150 pounds!!!

I have a feeling that I will be up some this week. My clothes are a little tighter. They still fit, with room to spare, but there's less room this week than last; if that makes ANY sense.

06-15-2003, 11:00 AM
Congrads you guys....maybe someday SOON I will be able to post my losses..I want to be a part of the Loser's Club!!! lol.

06-15-2003, 11:03 AM
Congratulations you guys :bounce:

I stayed the same which is perfectly OK as last weekend I was away at festival and had lots to eat and drink :D

06-15-2003, 11:36 AM
After staying at 182 I finally moved on this weigh in to an official 179 for 55lbs gone! I changed my clippee YEAH>. TOM is outta here and hopefully i'm moving on down. It's getting harder and harder to get those scales to come around to my way of thinking but i'm staying with my plan. I made my Birthday goal of 180 by June 28th 2 weeks early so i'm really happy about that. Now i have my sights set on 159 by Labor Day! I know this will proabley be harder to attain than all my other goals but i'm gonna get it or get very, very, close.

06-15-2003, 01:33 PM
I've weighed in early this week because I was too anxious, just knowing there was a loss. I posted a few days ago that after a 4 week stand still I finally lost a pound, well add two more to that for a total of three pounds this week!! Official weigh in is on Tuesday, but I just couldn't wait that long. I have 9 days until I leave for the states and hit a goal point and I still have 2 pounds to go to obtain my original goal (and 3 pounds to reach TigH's challenge to me....getting my 30# clippie by the time my trip arrives!) I don't know if I will make it or not, but it is possible if I stay on track. I will let you know next week how I do.

Debbie, 4 pounds and onederland is a fantastic accomplishment for the week. kelljacques, 22 pounds since March is great, before you know it you will be grabbing that new clippie. Dan, what can I say, you continue to inspire, congrats on losing 150#....AWESOME! Luvinit, I look forward to reading that post! KayleeUK, a great attitude to have!! PartyofSix, 55# gone, that is fabulous, you must feel fantastic.

Congratulations to everyone who has lost or maintained this week.

06-15-2003, 04:01 PM
6 POUNDS on ATKINS!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc I am thrilled, and I am not too hungy, so I think this is the DIET for ME!;)

06-15-2003, 04:05 PM
I am down another 2 pounds this week, bringing my total loss since May 19 to 17 pounds.

06-15-2003, 05:26 PM
Jiminy102 You are amazing. You even lose when you aren't strict with your eating. Another pound gone forever! Just think how great you are going to do this coming week being faithful to plan.

You are doing great and you are such a motivating presence, here on WISH. I'm proud of you.

Debbie You are first in our hearts and first on the check in thread. What a great job you did last week. Four pounds gone forever. What a success you are!

I love your new clipart but with your determination and perseverance it is going to be changing very soon, I'm sure. You are just tearing down that road to goal and keeping your WISH friends motivated along the way. I'm proud of you and I hope you are feeling proud of yourself!

kelljacques@aol.com You are very calm about your wonderful success this week :) I would be over the moon to lose two pounds in one week.

You need to celebrate a little, sweetie. You lost two whole pounds this past week. That is success--that is wonderful progress! Just think, you are only 3 pounds away from that 5 pound loss clipart. You are going to have it very soon, I think.

I can't help myself, I've got to celebrate just a little

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

That's better. Celebrate your successes, don't downplay them. Be proud of yourself. We are all proud of you. Good job this week. I'm glad you are part of my support group :)

SnackyStacky Dan? Honey, you're still losing? WOW, even on maintenance you continue to lose. That's incredible. You need a goal plus clipart, don't you?

Losing 150 pounds in just an awesome accomplishment. I'm so glad that you are here with us on WISH to help us stay motivated and determined and to keep reminding us that we can be just as successful as you have been. I'm so proud of you.

Luvinit You are part of the loser's club, sweetie. You just want to be part of the big loser's club. You may have only lost 5 pounds so far but that is progress and that is success. Never forget that you are a success.

Besides that, you are just cute as a button. Don't give up. Keep on keeping on and you will lose more weight soon. I promise.

I'm proud of your determination and chutzpa, cutie.

KayleeUK You went to a festival, ate off plan foods and you still maintained your weight? How great is that?!?

I hope there is no festival this week. If there isn't I'll bet you lose a couple of more pounds. You've got what it takes to do that you just have to watch out for those festivals ;)

I'm glad you are part of my support group, Kaylee. You have a positive attitude and a wonderful determination. You make me proud.

PartyofSix You lost 3 more pounds? You and John are just staying neck and neck with those cliparts. Kind of fun to watch :teeth:

Congratulations on reaching a goal early. You worked hard to do that and I'm very proud of you. I have no doubt you will reach every goal you set. You are just so motivated and determined and successful.

Watch out for that horseradish sauce though ;) Good job this week, sweetie.

tiggerlover You are just zipping along that road to goal, aren't you? What a great week you had. Another 3 pounds gone forever. Excellent!

I don't know if I will make it or not

Think positively. Believe in yourself. You have to believe in yourself to succeed. Look at it this way. You are smaller and you are lighter. You are doing great. Don't start doubting yourself, now. Believe in yourself and there is nothing you cannot do. We all believe in you...believe in yourself.

You can do this, I know you can. Look how much progress you have made so far. You are a delightful and motivating presence on WISH and I'm glad you are in my support group. You can do anything you set your mind to, so just keep working as hard as you can :)

Poohbear123 WooHoo!!!! Six pounds gone forever in just one week. That's is progress, cutie, that is wonderful success. But where is your new clipart? I would have added that thing to my siggie so fast, it would make your head spin!

You are doing so well with Atkins, aren't you? You are on your way to goal and you make me proud. I sure hope you are proud of yourself.

Look at your wonderfully positive attitude! I love your exuberance and the way you celebrate your success. I predict a lot of celebrating in your future because you are good at this weight loss stuff! Way to go, cutie!

NCRedding You sure are calm about losing another two pounds. No celebration? How come? Surely you know what you accomplished this week, don't you? You lost the equivalent of 8 sticks of butter (or two tubs if you are Canadian)--the equivalent of 40 strips of bacon. That is a wonderful accomplishment.

I would be celebrating if I lost two pounds. But that's just me. Okay, so you don't have to celebrate. Are you at least feeling proud of yourself? I sure hope so. I'm sure proud of you.

You did great this week--you keep this up and you will be at goal in no time at all. Way to go!

It is such a joy to watch everyone proceed toward their goals with positive attitudes and strong determination. Some of us make it down the road a little more quickly than others but every single WISHer is successful. That is so motivating for me. I love reading about everyone's progress each week.

I don't weigh in until Thursday. Onward and downward!

06-15-2003, 06:48 PM
You are ALWAYS so nice to everyone, you are a sweetie.;) Don't forget, I was the one on the LOW FAT diet at first, lost 8 but gained it back, so I was not too excited about weighing in, but I weighed this morning and dropped a few, so I am :bounce: all over the place!;) So, I am starting from scratch so to speak.;) I started Atkins at 208 and now down to 202! I will wait till I get my first 10 pounds off to add it to my clippie!;)

06-15-2003, 06:53 PM
Okay, well, I forgot about that low fat deal. Atkins is much, much more fun, huh? You have made me grin, you are so happy :teeth:

06-15-2003, 08:00 PM
I didn't check in last week but I will this week because I'm down five pounds for the two weeks. That makes 10 pounds so far. Maybe my nephew will be able to change my clippie for me now???

I'm going to try and do my WATP tapes a little more than three times per week. It's such a busy time right now though, with school ending, soccer and endless meetings.

Have a great week everyone!

06-15-2003, 08:24 PM
Congratulations everyone! I'm so proud of you all. Those new clippies look great! I am not weighing in this week. Let's just say my dieting was on "hiatus" this past week. Starting tomorrow it's onward and downward. In just 9 short weeks, I'll be in my "laughing place." Just thinking about that makes me want to really stick to program. I would like to be down another 15 pounds by the time we leave, but I will be satisfied if I can lose 10 pounds by then. Keep up the awesome work everyone!

06-15-2003, 08:44 PM
Okay, I am finally checking in with a 5lb (total) loss!!! Do you like my new clippie?;) :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

06-15-2003, 09:01 PM
We are doing gr-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-reat! aren't we?

Kath, I love your comment:
You and John are just staying neck and neck with those cliparts. Kind of fun to watch
'cause, I've been watching those two since the getgo. Two people, two styles of eating, and both so inspiring to the rest of us!

Those shiny new clippies are making me run for my sunglasses! :smooth:

Onward and downward we go.

06-15-2003, 09:39 PM
Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks since I started Atkins. I am now down 15 pounds.

Everyone is doing so well, keep up the good work!!

06-15-2003, 09:50 PM
Susan--Ontario I was wondering where you were and a little worried that you might had left WISH. I'm so glad to see you haven't left us :)

Another five pounds gone forever! Good job. Isn't it a great feeling to see yourself getting smaller and lighter? I love that shiny new clipart in your signature, very flattering.

I hope you are feeling strong and proud today. You have certainly made all of us feel proud.

You are on your way to goal and you are doing great!

NancyK Okay, you get a pass on weighing in. You sound newly determined. I'll bet you do great next week and have a loss to report.

Jomrog WOO HOO!!! Look at that gorgeous 5 pound loss clipart. Way to go!

I love the way you celebrate your success, very motivating. Good job this week. I'm so happy and proud for you. You are definitely on your way to goal--be proud of yourself.

alexandmaddie You're awfully calm for someone who has lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. Don't you feel just the teeniest bit happy and excited about such wonderful progress?

Well, I'm just so happy and proud for you that I have to bounce a little.

:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I hope you are feeling proud of yourself, you are a great success at this weight loss stuff. I love that pretty 15 pound loss clipart, very attractive.

Well as I posted last week, straight after I had weighed in I was real bad and then I did it again at a works BBQ so I am quite pleased that I still have a 1lb loss to get my 10lb clippie. I am going to be good this week, I am going to be good this week........

Well I lost 2 pounds for my first week and I'm pretty happy with that considering the celebrating I've done this weekend for passing my driving test.

However I'm off to Disneyland Paris this week for a couple of days and then a wedding on Saturday but I'm hoping all the rushing around I'll be doing will help me at least maintain that 2lb loss :)

06-16-2003, 07:53 AM
I reached 30 pounds last Friday and for some reason took it as a ticket to eat this weekend!! I really hate when that happens and am going to skip weighing in for a few days! The good part is I'm NOT beating myself up over it...I'm just moving on.

So, getting back on track today and still aiming for 35 pounds by July 4th. I will do this! :)

Everyone is doing so great! Have a wonderful week :)

06-16-2003, 08:06 AM
I am so happy to see all my WISH buddies doing so well! With all of these great losses lately there is so much to be thankful for!

I am still in a plateau! It's the third week of no weight loss for me. I know that the pounds will drop, just as long as I continue to do what I know needs to be done. So, I will continue to eat healthy, drink my water, and exercise my behind off!

06-16-2003, 09:24 AM
I lost one pound :) Unfortunately, my last 3 days were not exactly "on program", so I will be working extra hard this week.

Congrats to everyone!

Mary Liz

06-16-2003, 09:27 AM
Ok, I'm calling this a maintained week. Managed to get that excess sodium holding bounce back off and MAYBE another half pound. But since my scale isn't digital I'm not getting greedy.

Will call it a no loss/no gain week. That is a good thing as plateus happen along the way. Didn't measure but as I've been packing for our cruise (Check the counter we leave FRIDAY to fly down to Orlando and then on to the ship Saturday) I know everything is fitting beautifully - and those are 12s and 14s when back in January I was wearing 20s and 22s!

So I am VERY HAPPY about where I'm at. The plan for the next couple of weeks is to watch what I eat, take the stairs on the ship when it makes sense, walk deck 4 on the mornings we don't have an early excursion, and not stress about it. Then when I'm back home I'll get back on the strict regime. This is not a short term project - but a lifestyle change. If I can't relax now and again I will simply burn out and give up. That would be worse than a POSSIBLE temporary set back on the scale.

You won't see me for a couple weeks - at least not to weigh in. My next official weigh in will be July 7th.

I'm heading for DISNEY!!!!!!!
:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

There - some bouncing Katholyn!

06-16-2003, 10:11 AM
Congratulations Everyone! What an inspiration to read the way you all have perservered and, a little at a time, have met such awesome goals! 150 pounds, 55 pounds, 4 lbs, onederland, you are all soo awesome!!!:bounce: :bounce:

My first week is over and I have lost 2 pounds, I think. My scale needs updating..I'm afraid it bounces around a bit! I'm thankful that with God's strength, I made the goals I set for myself!
I drank 64 oz of water each day, exercised 4 days this week, including a 3 mile walk on Saturday, and stayed within my WW points! Yesterday, the whole family went out for dinner at an italian restaurant. Though I ate well for breakfast and lunch, dinner was a bust, so I have to start over on the cheat free star.:( But today is another day! Goals this week - buy a new scale, take measurements and walk 10 miles this week! I'll continue with the water and the WW points, of course. Onward and downward!!:D

06-16-2003, 11:18 AM
I have been dreading posting this all morning - but I gained a pound!! I went a little overboard this weekend and am paying the price. I'm trying to bounce back though - I'm going to be extra good this week and finally get back on the wagon from a few weeks ago. Congrats to everyone though - keep up the good work!

06-16-2003, 12:03 PM
Well it has taken me a bit to post but here goes....I gained 4 pounds this week. I have realized that I just can't eat!!!! :D Well...maybe not that but we were gone this weekend and I did it to myself. We snacked quite a bit despite all the walking we did and the swimming I did on Friday night with dd. But it made the weekend more enjoyable and I will just get right back on this week and start using that treadmill!

Nice job to everyone!!!!! Have a great week!

06-16-2003, 05:41 PM
Like a few others here, I was really afraid to get on the scale this morning ..... http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/84/scale.gif ..... but I am happy to report that the numbers are moving again! YEAH!!!! http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif I have entered ONEderland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and I weighed myself 3 times to make sure) http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bounce4.gif

Thanks to every WISHer!!! http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/84/bearhug.gif Without this board, I wouldn't have been able to do this!!!!

06-17-2003, 10:13 AM
(First a HUGE thankyou to Katholyn for providing the link- my server can't find Disboards! :( Katholyn is the Lone Ranger for Losers around here! Thanks!!)
Okay I'm bad with remembering- but I think it's Debbie and Geetey!! WOW_ ONEDERLAND:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
I think we need a special clippie for those that reach onederland!! I know I'd LOVE one! Maybe a picture of Mickey holding up his number one finger! I'm sooo thrilled for you guys- and geetey I'm right behind ya!!!

And Party of Six (aka Tammy) 55 pound clippie!!! Oh my- it looks sensational on you!! You're an inspiration for all of us who are following in your footsteps....

And sweet TNTink! 3 miles your first week at WISH- outstanding!!! Let me know if you find a user friendly scale! :)

Now for my weigh-in I'm at 214.5 so that's down 1 pound since last week. I'm very THRILLED- because two nights in a row we celebrated father's day and let me just say that two nights of blooming onions were threatening my loss this week. So I'm shooting for a 2 pound loss next week- thank goodness no more celebratory dinners until July 4th!

Great news on the exercise front- walked 20 miles last week and did nautilus once- I feel stronger and less sluggish- hoping to keep it up through this muggy summer weather! :)

06-17-2003, 12:54 PM
I'm down 1 pound this week.:bounce: :Pinkbounc (I only put those bounces in there for Katholyn. I'll save her the bouncing!)

A loss is a loss!! That brings me to 12 pounds in 4 weeks on Atkins. I'm really happy with the program.

That's 21 pounds total since 1/1!! My clothes are fitting great (they're loose) and my mother has mentioned at least 5 times in the last 3 days how great I look. This is especially important because she did not approve of Atkins.

Congratualtions to all you other losers. And to the gainers, congratulations for sticking with it. It will pay off in the end!

06-17-2003, 12:55 PM
Sue & Co. You are going to be good this week...we all are going to help you be good. Be sure and visit WISH everyday, it really does help keep you motivated and on track.

Congratulations on that pretty new clipart. I can't see it right now, I think because of server issues but I know how pretty that 10 pound loss clippie is, I used to have one myself :)

You have lost another pound and that is excellent. You are focused on your goal and newly determined this week and that is terrific. You are a success and I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourself.

Fantasia Sam Way to go! Two pounds gone--good job!

Enjoy your trip to DLP and make the best food choices you can. Be sure to have as much fun as possible and lots of magical memories, too.

Kelsie Well, we learn as we go, don't we? You get a pass on weigh in this week :)

I have no doubt that you will make that goal you've set by 7/4. You know you can do it and so does every other WISHER. You've got the grit and determination to do it.

Have a great week. I'm proud of you for not feeling guilty about "celebrating" your success with food and moving forward toward your goal.

blanq Plateaus can be frustrating, can't they? Are you checking your measurements as well as the scale? Sometimes we get smaller even when we don't get lighter. You might want to measure yourself this week.

I am so proud of your determination despite the fact that you have had 3 weeks showing no loss. What strength of character you have. What a great example you are for all of us. I hope you realize how strong you are and are feeling proud of yourself.

maryliz Another pound gone forever! Great progress considering your last 3 days were "off program". You are slowly working your way to goal. Good job!

You sound like you have a renewed determination and that is a very good thing. Remember that you can call on your fellow WISHers if you need a little extra strength. We're always here for you.

You are on your way to goal--losing slowly is the very best way to get there successfully, too. See how great you are doing? I'm really proud of you. Be proud of yourself.

FantasticDisFamily May I tell you how proud of you I am? Just reading your plan for your cruise has motivated me and reminded me that my eating plan is for life, not just a short term fix. Thank you for that...you are amazing.

Congratulations on maintaining your weight this past week. You have made so much progress so far, I know you are going to succeed at reaching goal and maintaining it the rest of your life. You are just too determined and motivated for that not to happen. Good for you!

Have a magical cruise. Your plan sounds perfect to me, good luck with it. I did the 7 day western cruise with KarenNY last September and I learned one thing: they will feed you until you die if you let them. I don't think you're going to let them, though, are you?

Bon voyage ma cher!

TennesseeTink Two pounds gone forever! You are doing great, Jennifer. You are on your way to goal, for sure.

One little thing though...is that a sad smilie I see? Yes, that one right there...right after you say that you have to start over on the cheat free challenge? That's the one. No sad smilies allowed on WISH, unless you break your leg or something.

Here's the deal, Jennifer, we don't feel sad or guilty about anything that happened in the past. Why? Because we can't change the past, we have no control over the past, we can only control what we do right now. Feeling bad and guilty about something we can't change is a waste of our precious life, seriously. Right now you are newly determined and back on track, so 86 that sad smilie. Put a smile on your face and everything is easier, truly it is :)

You should be feeling proud of yourself for drinking all of that water, working out 4 days and staying within your point range. That is great progress and wonderful success. I'm proud of you.

Hang in there, you're doing great!

CrzyforPiglet I imagine that pound you gained isn't all fat. I imagine that the Bloat Fairy just took advantage of your eating off program foods and paid you a little visit. I, personally, think you got off easy. I've never been lucky enough to just get one pound of fluid from BF, the stinker.

Okay, you're back on track. You are back on the road to goal, with or without a wagon. You are going to do great! I'm really proud of you for posting here even though you dreaded it. It wasn't all that bad, was it? No lashes with wet noodles--just support from all of your WISH friends.

We know you can do this and so do you. Be proud of yourself for sticking with your goal even after you took a little detour. Just keep on keeping on and you are going to succeed even more than you already have.

Hang in there, my friend, you are back on the road to goal and you are going to do just great!

December99 What a great attitude you have! Way to go. Do you think you really gained 4 whole pounds of fat over the weekend? I don't know if that is physically possible, just imagine how many calories you would have had to eat over two days to do that. So, most likely most of that gain is fluid.

Hop on that new treadmill of yours and use it and drink your water and I'll bet you get rid of those 4 pounds and more by next weigh-in.

I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend and I hope you made some wonderful memories with your dh and dd. Welcome back to the real world now. You are back on the road to goal and you are going to do just great.

Be proud of your strength and determination, I'm sure proud of you.

geetey Congratulations! Reaching "onederland" is quite a milestone. Don't you just feel proud of yourself? I'm sure feeling proud of you.

Without this board, I wouldn't have been able to do this!!!!

Now, see, this is the part of WISH that I just adore. The truth is that we wouldn't be able to this without you! That is the secret of WISH :)

Good job this week, sweetie. Thank you for celebrating your success, you have made me smile :)

lmhall2000 Another pound gone forever and you were not true to plan? Amazing. You are on the way to goal and nothing is going to stop you now, not evening a "blooming onion". I wouldn't dare eat something like that it would set me off on a carbohydrate binge such has never been seen before ;)

walked 20 miles last week and did nautilus once

Way to go! I'm so proud of you for working so hard. Your determination and motivation is shining through, sweetie. Be proud of yourself.

I have no doubt that you will lose that two pounds this week

I think all of us learn new things about ourselves everyday, don't you? Reading the check in thread teaches me something new every week. That's one of the reasons I love reading it. The other reason I love reading it is that it is my way of staying "in touch" with my fellow WISHers.

Whether you lost, maintained or even gained this week, the fact that you posted here tells me that you are all still determined and I find that to be very motivating.

Onward and downward, my friends.

06-17-2003, 01:00 PM
PAdisMOM I should have refreshed the page before I submitted my reply, I almost missed you. So glad that I didn't miss you, though.

Thank you for celebrating your success! It's just fun to do that, isn't it? Another pound gone forever, you're doing great!

You are averaging a 3 pound loss each week. That is wonderful progress. I hope you are feeling very proud of yourself. I know that I'm feeling proud of you.

It's sort of fun when people who disapprove of Atkins have to break down and tell us how great we are looking, isn't it? I know your mother was worried for your health. The fact that you are looking great probably eases her mind too, and that's a good thing, don't you think?

Way to go this week--keep this up and you will reach goal before you know it.

Yeah me! I got it going. Lost 2 more pounds! My mini goal is that next week I WILL collect my 10 pound clippie for sure.

Now I have even greater news! My DH is doing it too! He saw me eating (or not) eating my way through our New Orleans trip and admired my drive I guess. He decided if I could do it he could too.

Also, I am CERTAIN DH was inspired by BIG LOSER John's story. I made sure to tell DH about John and his Atkins success, with blood pressure and cholesterol report. (Thanks again John for posting it).

DH is not a DISer, I DIS for the both of us when time permits. We are working on an Atkins-type, low carb thing. The reason I say Atkins-type is because I haven't been able to read through it all just yet.

As I have mentnioned before--I do love the part in the old book where it says the goal is that you have to ration your poison (carbs). It connected in me and DH. This is truly a new life style choice and it works!--if you give it a chance.

Everyone, remember to keep at it. Even if there is no loss to report, keep going until you find your way. Something is out there for you, you just might have to wander around to find it is all.

This is my first time checking in. I am down four pounds this week, with a total of sixteen pounds lost since May 26. Only 100 more pounds to go! Really though, I am happy and proud of myself.

06-18-2003, 11:36 AM
for details see my post WI weirdness (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=391257) but the short of it all is today I proudly report in that the pound the BF left last week is gone, and with it went a pound of unwanted fat!! yippppeeeee!!

06-18-2003, 11:56 AM

Not too bad for almost 2 months (though only dieting for 1 month)!!!

I get measured at Curves on Saturday and will post the results :D

Tiger Lily 03 I love your enthusiasm. Another two pounds gone forever! Way to go, cutie.

New Orleans is an easy place to stay on plan, my dh and I were there in February and were 100% on plan the whole time. No feelings of deprivation, either.

I'm so glad that your dh will be following Atkins now, too. It's just easier when you both are on the same plan. It has been very helpful for my husband and me. We keep each other motivated.

You will have to keep us posted on your dh's progress with this new lifestyle change. I can't wait to see how well he does.

Good job this week. You can be proud for two things...first you are a loser and headed toward goal and second, you have helped your husband find a way to improve his health. Be proud of yourself, we are all proud of you!

Princess Michelle With that positive attitude of yours that extra weight doesn't stand a chance! Your exuberance and enthusiasm makes me smile. Good job getting rid of a pound last week, the other two pounds will be gone soon taking a pound or two more with them, I'll bet.

It is so helpful to stay motivated and determined when you have a positive attitude. Your great attitude certainly keeps me motivated. Thank you :)

Be proud of yourself--you are on your way to goal!

FFerret You've lost 8 pounds? Woo Hoo!!! Now, that is success. Look how well you are doing. That 10 pound loss clipart is practically in your signature already.

Keep this up and you will be at goal in no time at all. Way to go, my friend, I'm proud of you. I hope you are feeling proud of yourself!

Chim Chiminy Welcome to WISH! Did you take the WISH challenge? I missed you, if you did :(

I'm glad to see you here, it sounds like you are doing great. Losing four pounds in one week is terrific progress. Good job!

You should be feeling pretty proud of yourself, I'm sure proud of you.

ohMom WOO HOO!!! Great feeling isn't it? I love thwarting that silly bloat fairy :teeth: Good job!

You must be almost to goal now. The last photo of you was pretty trim looking. At the rate you are going you will be at goal and sporting that gorgeous red clipart very soon.

Be proud of yourself. You help keep me motivated and determined and I'm very proud of you.

aurora19 YIPPEEEEE!!! Another pound gone forever and you've got a shiny new clipart. That 15 pound loss clippie really looks good on you.

How does it feel to be a success? Feels pretty good, doesn't it? I'm so happy and proud for you--I hope you are feeling proud of yourself!

You can access your user profile by using this link:

AlreadyexcitedGrammy WOO HOO!!! Another pound gone forever. You are just relentlessly working your way to goal, Bebr. Good job.

Go buy some new clothing, you have earned a reward like that...but just don't buy too many garments at the size you are right now...you will just have to go out pretty soon and buy more in an even smaller size. You are just doing so well. I'm so happy and proud for you. You'd better be feeling proud of yourself, too. You are a success!

Thanks for the extra motivation Bebr, you are helping me stay determined :)

I do so appreciate it when one of my WISH pals posts to the checkin thread. You don't realize how much strength you give me just by posting how you did the previous week. It's an amazing phenomenon but it helps me a lot.

Onward and downward!

06-18-2003, 02:36 PM
Gained 2 pounds - wow am I glad that we don't have to take "special" clip art for gains - I'd be getting my 5 pound clippie this week

I'm not down though because I began Induction today!! My dh and my best friend are doing it with me!! Yipee!!

I have a good feeling about this and after reading about all of the success that other wishers have had on Atkins I'm ready to go!

Did pilates twice last week, too. My goal is to do it three times so I was close :) .

Great week everyone - keep those positive attitudes front and center :p .

06-18-2003, 02:47 PM
audflash A new determination and a new beginning. Way to go! Following the same nutritional plan as your husband and best friend is going to help you be successful.

I'm proud of you for recognizing that you needed to try a more structured eating plan to lose weight. Sometimes we just need to be more careful with what we eat as well as exercising more.

I'm anxious to see how well you do with Atkins. My husband and I love it and have taken it as our lifetime eating plan.

Be proud of yourself--you are in control and on your way to goal.

Ok. I'm back on track after vacation. I gained around 4 lbs or so. I had my official weigh in at WW Tuesday night and am now just .8 lbs over my before vacation weight. I was extremely pleased with that. Hopefully I'll lose that and a little more by next weigh-in. Keep up the good work everyone. :D

06-19-2003, 09:30 AM
I weighed in on 6/17 (haven't been able to get on the boards til this morning) and I have lost 6 more pounds for a total of 15pounds in 2 weeks!! I am so happy! I am staying on induction because I would like to lose some more before adding more carbs. I am not having any trouble staying on plan and I really don't feel as though I am missing anything!

06-19-2003, 01:31 PM
another 2 pounds gone for good!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Next week I should exchange my clippie for a new one. That is my goal. Gotta love that cheat free star!

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I had a very busy week last week and didn't get a minute to post, but I did have a loss of 3 1/2 lbs last week!

This week I lost another 3 lbs. for a total of 16.5 since joining wish on 5/10, and a total of 26.5 since becoming a diva on 4/23. Only 28.5 to go now! Almost half way there!

Excuse me now while I run off a grab my new clippie :bounce:

Have a great week everyone!

-Mary Rose, the diet diva

anniet You think all three pounds are a true weight gain or do you think some of it might be fluid? I vote for the latter, how about you?

You are back, you are focused and you are on your way to goal. I'm proud of you for not dwelling on the past. That means you are a winner who doesn't give up and keeps moving forward despite little detours.

I'm glad you posted here to day. Good luck this week.

mum4jenn WOW! You lost another three pounds? You are just racing down that road to goal, aren't you?

Are you feeling proud and strong today? I hope so. Your hard work is paying off and you are getting closer and closer to goal. I'm really proud of you.

TCKK So, you really did very well while you were on vacation? You must have subconsciously controlled your portions and choices to only have gained .8 pounds at your official WW weigh in. Way to go!

You are back home on WISH now and I have no doubt that you will get rid of that extra .8 pound souvenir from vacation very soon.

You are newly determined and focused on goal, you're going to do just great. I'm glad you are back. We really missed you.

wdwnutze Holy cowabunga! You lost 6 whole pounds this past week?!?! You are just doing an amazing job with this weight loss stuff. Good for you!

I'm really proud of you for your determination. You keep this up and you will be at goal sooner than you think.

I still consume fewer than 20 grams of carbohydrates each day. I'm not losing as well as you are, though. You are just so successful. Way to go!

PRINCESS VIJA WOO HOO!!! Another two pounds gone forever. You are just making steady progress toward your goal. I'm so proud of you.

You help keep me motivated, I'm so glad you are part of my WISH support group. I hope you are proud of your success, I'm sure proud of you. You will have that new clipart very soon, I'm sure.

O'BWV Oh my GOSH, you lost 6.5 pounds in just two weeks? That is terrific progress?

Are you feeling strong? Are you smiling? You have certainly made me smile. Be proud of yourself--we are all proud of you!

I love your new clipart. You are truly on the road to goal, good job!

I can't believe it's already Thursday, where has the week gone?

Today is my weigh in day and I have officially gotten rid of the last two pounds of fluid. I am still on plan and focused and I owe my determination to all of you. Thanks for being here to help me along!

06-19-2003, 07:43 PM
Well last week was a not so good week for me...I stayed the same, no loss, no gain...but this week more than made up for it! I am down another 5.6 pounds and my grand total for 10 weeks is TA DA......27 POUNDS!!!!!

Can you tell I'm just a little excited? My first small goal was 30 pounds by July 12th and now I know it's definately within reach. I still have a long way to go..but I'm setting myself small goals along the way. Now my biggest worry is....when I starting WW I said I was going to cut and color my hair when I lost 25 pounds...so now I have to decide how I want to have it done.

06-19-2003, 08:40 PM
I forgot to check in this week. I actually lost a little weight. My exercise challenge is going well and I think that is the reason why I lost.

Went to the mall and bought some new clothes for my upcoming trip. Can't wait to wear them when I see my DIS friends.

Have a great week everyone.

06-19-2003, 10:07 PM
Katholyn--You're a sweetheart :)
Texan, tried and true!

06-20-2003, 12:25 AM
Well I am only down about .5 this week, but that is good for me since I have not been able to exercise at all! In fact, I have barely been able to get out of bed! I have a terrible cold that has really knocked me off my feet, and I figured if I can't breathe sitting here in front of my computer, it's probably not a good idea to try and breathe on the elliptical either :D Congratulations to all you "losers". It seems like it's been a pretty successful week overall!!!

06-20-2003, 04:59 AM
I'm a little late checking in but I lost 2lbs as of Sunday. I was a little curious though because I could feel a bit of a change so I weighed myself yesterday and lost another 3lbs!!

I'm well on my way to reaching my first goal of losing 20lbs before I go to DW in July. My DH is reluctant to get on the scale and is finding out that the cravings are tough (he's 2 weeks behind me on Atkins). I'm really surprised that I haven't been more tempted to blow out. I made biscuits for dinner two nights ago for my kids and made them smaller than usual so I ate one (okay I really had two) but I felt so bloated I couldn't eat any more and didn't want to either.

Here's hoping for another losing week.

06-20-2003, 06:47 AM
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Bouncing in true Tigger style today as I claim my 20 pound clippie! I tried like the Dickens to get Tiggerlover's old 20 pound clippie for such a long time, but inched my way along. This week I lost 3.5 pounds WOW, so I am officially down 20.5 pound since starting WISH!!!! That is amazing to me! I weighed 138.5 today. Ross is down 15.5 pounds and he's in ONEderland for the first time in about 8 years, weighing in at 199.5!!! I am so proud of him! :)

Love my Friday weigh in!!!!! Onward and downward!!!

06-20-2003, 09:06 AM
Oh thank goodness I can finally get back here! I've missed you all so much. The scale said gained one this morning, but I'm convinced it is the BF coming to visit. Hooray for all the losers this week - even though I'm not one of them.

06-20-2003, 09:40 AM
I am :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: with joy this morning. I had my WI and am happy to report that I am down 1.5 pds. this week. I am finally in the 140's (149.5) and am so happy. My July 4th mini-goal on Annie's thread was to get my 10# clippie and I am only 2 pds from that. I think that I should be able to meet it, anyway I'm saying "I know I can, I know I can".

I have another challenge now, since I am below 150, my point range changes in WW, so that will take some adjusting, but I know I can do it.

Have a great weekend everyone.

06-20-2003, 10:18 AM
I did it - that last .5 is gone soI can show off my shiny new clippie!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the support here. I am a very resistant loser, Dr Atkins would wonder why it takes me so long to lose following his plan, I don't know, I don't care, I am thrilled the 20 pounds are gone.

06-20-2003, 02:40 PM
Katholyn: Congrats on your loss. Thanks for the encouragement way back on page one (i haven't been able to log on). I am thrilled by my loss last week, and am keeping my fingers crossed for our weigh in next week. Thanks to all for the positive support.

06-20-2003, 05:02 PM
weigh in this week !! 3 more pounds off, making a total of 21 lbs!!! don't know how to change my wish challenge though!!!

06-21-2003, 08:56 AM
Day-43 - I lost 8-lbs. for the week, for a total of 18-lbs. lost, and I got my new clippie!

I don't know why, I lost, but I owe most of it to everyone's wonderful support. Thankyou all, very, very much.

Congratulations to everyone that lost weight and inches and maintained, and the rest of you guys can do it. I know you can. Keep moving onward and downward.

God bless you, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

06-21-2003, 03:55 PM
I didn't weight in last week, because it was that TOM and I didn't even worry about getting on the scale. Then when I weighed in this week the boards were down. Well.....hoping that I could finally claim my new clippie after my Auntie Flo left (BTW I've never heard that expression before the WISH board:p )

But I'm not able to claim it yet.....Total lose since joining WISH = 9lbs , but I'm stuck (4 weeks now)

But 3 great things that have happened this week:
1) I joined a gym!:Pinkbounc
2) I'm not craving carbs-----WAHOO :bounce:
3) I've determined to do the Fat Fast that Karyn & Tracy did (they inspired me!), to finally break this.

06-21-2003, 07:37 PM
Another week of no loss. So I went out and bought myself a new scale. One that is digital so even if I loose a few ounces I will know it. I have not been very good the last few weeks we have had weddings and birthdays celebrations galore. I am really going to try this week to not cheat at all. Hopefully next week I will show some kind of loss.

06-21-2003, 08:26 PM
Well! I let myself get behind again.

Nancy WOO HOO!!!! You lost 5.6 pounds in one week? That is stupendous! That is fantastic! What a success you are and so determined too. You should be excited you are doing a great job--getting closer and closer to goal.

I love your exuberance. It's good to celebrate success--it's positive reinforcement. Besides that it's good practice, you will be celebrating reaching goal one of these days, you will really be celebrating then :)

I'm just so proud of you for not giving up and staying focused on your goal. Way to go!

Tink33 I love it that you continue to visit WISH to help keep us motivated. You are at goal and now you have some pretty new clothes. Have lots of fun meeting up with your DIS friends. Be sure and take lots of photos and post them on DIS meets board so we can see everyone.

You are still losing even though you are at goal. I'm so impressed with your determination and focus. You are a great example for me.

giggles221....uh oh....did y'all see what giggles just said? Only? You only lost half a pound, giggles? Do you have any idea of what you accomplished last week? How about an illustration? Go get 10 slices of bacon and a roll of duct tape. Now tape a slice of bacon on some body parts. Doesn't matter where, your neck and forehead are particularly good places for reasons of illustration :) Now, wear those 10 slices of bacon around an hour or two. I'll bet when you take them off you will be saying:

:bounce: :bounce: I lost a whole half a pound!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Do you realize that if you lose just one half pound each week for a whole year you will have lost 26 pounds at the end of that year? I know you would have been dismayed to have gained a half a pound. You should at least be half as happy to lose as you would have been sad to gain.

Now, you lost a half pound even though you didn't work out and you have been quite ill. Your poor little body is doing the best it can with what it has to work with. Celebrate every little success and you will have more success.

Be proud of yourself. You are doing your best and you are making progress. I know you want to make progress faster and when you are all well and able to work out again you will lose faster. For right now, you get points for staying with your plan and doing the best you could. I'm proud of you for that (and I hope you don't mind that I tease sometimes.)

cart-mom 5 pounds gone forever! That is wonderful progress. Even eating a couple of biscuits didn't slow you down. I wouldn't try that too often, it will catch up with you ;)

You are doing a great job with this and you are definitely on your way to goal. I'm really proud of you for being so determined and successful, I sure hope you are feeling proud of yourself.

TigH YIPPEE!!! Way to go, TigH! I love getting to celebrate your success twice. Thanks for posting to the checkin thread too.

I love that gorgeous 20 pound loss clipart, it looks great on you. You worked hard and persevered and never gave up and you won a reward. Good for you! I'm really proud of you.

ahutton Look at it this way, it's probably that pesky bloat fairy as you suspect and if it is then when the BF leaves you will be showing a larger loss. You will lose the fluid and the fat that you already lost but was masked by all of that fluid.

I'm proud of your good attitude about this. You will be seeing a lost soon, I'm sure.

jimmytammy I love your positive attitude and I really love the way you celebrate your success. Another 1.5 pounds gone forever and you have broken the 150 pound barrier. That 10 pound loss clippie is practically in your signature already.

You are doing very well and you are so determined, I have no doubt that you will make that 7/4 goal you set for yourself. You keep this up and you will be reacing your final goal sooner than you think.

Be proud of yourself, I'm sure proud of you!

mickeyfan1 Marsha, losing .5 pounds for you is like me losing two pounds. It is a significant loss. I'm proud of you. You refuse to give up even though you are resistant to losing.

Love that new clippie, it looks great on you. Be proud of yourself, you are a success!

Rain Way to go! Losing three pounds in one week is wonderful progress. You have switched your eating plan and are once more seeing success. Good job! You are following the Atkins plan, now, right?

I've asked for one of our technical moderators to put the WISH member clipart back in your signature but if you have lost 21 pounds since taking the challenge, I should have him/her add the 20 pounds loss clip. Let me know which one you need.

Be very proud of yourself, cutie. I'm so proud of you. You haven't given up--you just keep trying. That's great!

Did you know that we have a WISH chat every Thursday evening now? Kaylee host at 7:30 pm BST. I hope you can join us next week.

RaySharpton WOOHOO!!!! You lost 8 pounds in one week? What tremendous progress you are making. I know you started off losing a little more slowly than you would have liked but look at you go now!

I would like for WISH to get the credit for this but I'm afraid all of the credit is due to you. Yes, WISH helped but you are the one who did all of the important stuff. You stayed on plan and you didn't give up, even when you were feeling very discouraged. I know you were feeling discouraged, Ray. But you didn't give up! Look at you now!

I can't wait to see another photo of you Ray. I could see a difference in your face in the photo from the Atlanta meet and I'll bet you are going to be getting comments from some of your coworkers soon. They are going to start noticing that you are getting smaller.

I'm so proud of you, Ray. I hope you are feeling proud of yourself. I love that new clippie, too. Don't get too attached to it, though. I've got a feeling that you will be trading up again very soon. Good job this week!

MaMudduck Well, you sound newly determined and pretty enthusiastic. I hope you get the results from the fat fast that you want. I understand it can be pretty tough but I'll bet you don't have any problems at all.

Just don't stay away from WISH, keep us posted. I can't wait to see how well you do with this. Good luck.

lynr Okay, you have a new scale and you have a new determination not to waiver from your eating plan. That's very good.

I have not been very good the last few weeks

Yet you didn't gain? You maintained your weight. I see that as a positive thing. You could have gained. But you didn't.

Don't be angry with yourself. You have identified the problem and set out to solve it. I'm proud of you for doing that--you should be proud of yourself too. You didn't give up. That is something to be proud about, being determined.

Hang in there. Now that the celebrations are out of the way you can become even more focused on goal and I'll bet you start seeing success again very soon.

Whether you lost, gained or maintained your weight this past week, the fact that you came to WISH and shared your progress is so important. You not only help me when you do that, you help other WISHers who may not post to this thread but read it.

You also help our lurkers (yes, we know you're out there--we're saving you a place). Lots of people read WISH and never post but sometimes, by reading threads like this one, they learn that WISH is not only a safe haven but friendly and fun too.

Thanks for keeping me motivated, my friends.

Hee Hee I love the image of me walking around with bacon taped all over :D Duct tape does work for everything doesn't it? Thanks for keeping things in perspective for me, you are absolutely right! One less .5 pounds hanging around my body that I have to worry about! :D
