May you use the Hilton Head Beach House if you are a DVC member who is NOT staying at the Hilton Head Resort.
Officially NO!!!. DVC members are not permitted to use the facilities if not staying at the resort (pool hopping at WDW is the slight exception). Some timeshares do allow use of the facilities year round and that includes the Marriott's on Hilton Head, but not DVC.

Access to the Beach House is by your room key. There are room type locks on the front and beach doors to the beach house.
Access to the Beach area is by permit only. So unless you are already at Palmetto Dunes Plantation, you won't even be allowed into the area.
The beach itself is a public beach, so anyone may use that area, but not the beach house itself.

There is a guard house you have to go thru. They wave you threw with the DVC parking permit which is dated. Without the pass I would expect them to decline your entry into the area.
