Refillable Mugs @ WL

I am sure this question has been asked before, but I have to ask it again, as it seems that the search function has been disabled. My wife and I are going to the Wilderness Lodge this August (last-minute trip, thanks to FTP). We have old WL mugs from three years ago.

OK, here comes the ethical issue, are the old mugs usable? I know that the policy is for the mugs to be used during your current stay, but I remember hearing that Disney was placing bar codes on the bottom of the mugs purchased at the water parks that prohibit use after your current stay. Has this carried over to the resorts?

My DH and I just used our old mugs. We used them a few times during our stay and had no problems.

Did they ever institute the bar code scaning thing they were discussing last year? (Similar to ones used at the water parks that are only good for that day)
I plan on brining my old mugs, but will certainly buy new ones if I have too.

We always bring our mugs from past years. We were just there last weekend, and they are the same as they were years ago.

We were told by a CM there, last year, that they are good for as long as that building is standing. Don't know if that is official policy, but it works for me.

I guess maybe I use mine too much at home . I do not have a mug in the house I would think of bringing back most of them have rubbed off. My DXL mugs held up well ,my Disneyland mugs held up really well but I like getting new mugs every year .The debate on IF you should use them again and again when they are only good for the stay that you bought them on is as always on going. I think everyone should do only what they comfortable with .Only you have to be happy with yourself when you go to sleep at night.But then again I dont think that people who bring new 3 yr olds in with ticket should be roasted either;)

Uh oh. You people are in for it now. I think I hear the sirens of the mug police as we speak. I'll add some fuel to the fire. If I stay at the allstars, can I use the pools at the deluxes too? Now Im gonna get it from the mug cops and the pool cops.
