I'm packed and ready to leave for my June 14 cruise. My question is in regards to flying and locking your luggage. I know at one point due to secruity reasons, the airlines were telling people not to lock their luggage. Is this still the case? I hate not locking it. I don't have anything of value but I just feel better locking it.
I'm flying Delta and they don't have this information on their Web site.

We use the little plastic 'zip ties' to secure our bags. That is what the airlines are recommending. I know they sell them in the travel section at Target, inexpensive. They are also the same items the cruise line gives you to lock your bags the night before you debark ship.

If the airlines decide to physically check your luggage and it is locked they will break the lock. They will also leave you a nice note telling you that your luggage was inspected.
Use the plastic ties and they will cut the tie and not break the lock and you still get the same nice note.
