These peonies came from an 18th century garden my sister had when she lived on Long Island. The house was a sea captains house complete with a gardener who took beautiful care of the flower beds for many years. We thought they might have come from the Orient but we really don't know. When it was time for my sister to divide them I was standing right there with a shovel. I've transplanted them to 3 houses so far and would never move without them.
This year the rain spoiled the grand show but I was able to cut a few for the house and take a few pictures between the rain drops.:p

Wow! Great family history there Deb! And absolutely GORGEOUS PEONIES!!!!! I LOVE THEM!!! They are absolutely stunning!!!

I have blush ones. I wanna get a hold of some of my mom's pink ones this fall, especially after seeing these photos of yours. Pink is such a pretty color.

I think I mighta mentioned to you guys that peonies are my absolute favorites!!!
