Just wondered if any DVC members on the boards has stayed or traded into the Polo Towers in Las Vegas. Friends of ours own a Timeshare there and we are going with them this week(June 13-17). I know it is our DVC book (World Passport Collection). It seems it is right next to the MGM. This is our 1st trip ever to Vegas(not big gamblers http://e4u.consoleradar.com/crazy/726.gif )
Any info would be appreciated. We will be in a 2BR and wondered how they compare to DVC 2BR's. Link below for the Polo Towers.

Boy, with all the outstanding room rates you can get at top hotels in Vegas, I don't know that I'd be using up DVC points. You can usually find some outstanding deals, especially if you don't gamble. They want to get you in thier hotels, so you'll hit their game tables and slots.

We are not using any DVC pts, our friends own a timeshare there so we are there for 5 nights for free.I booked our flights on the net for $219 each (non-stop) Cleveland to Vegas, then I upgraded using FF miles (Continental) to go 1st class on the 4 1/2 hr flight.
So you can see this is a pretty in-expensive trip.;)

Sounds great, enjoy. I confess, we've never been there. We'll have to make the trip sometime. Friends love it.

We were in Las Vegas for a trade show in March and Mamma Mia had just started playing at Mandalay Bay. Tickets are expensive ($93.50 ea), but not as expensive as other prices I'd seen when seeing where else it was playing across the country. It is a hoot. If you liked Abba music and even if you didn't particularly like it, the show is just plain fun! You can't help but leave the theater feeling good.
We also went to Fremont Street to see the overhead canopy light show. It is very tacky area by day, but when it gets dark, it's fun to see the light show.
Getting married . . . or renewing vows (as was our case) at one of the wedding chapels is more meaningful than one might imagine. We did this at a drive through chapel on our way back to our hotel after visiting Fremont St. We did it for fun, but the minister who did the "ceremony" had a very genuine way of presenting things. We went to The Little White Wedding Chapel.
Also don't miss the Bellagio water show. It runs every 15 minutes to 1/2 hr depending on the time of day. They do a show to one song per showing. It's really quite amazing. While there, go to the Bellagio ($25.00/pp) Buffet. EXCELLENT!
Also, check out the indoor malls at The Venetian and Caesars . . . (Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!) They are amazing . . . not just the stores, but the theming. It can't beat Disney, but they sure do try.
Just for the record, we didn't even gamble, but there was plenty to do . . . but not in the morning! Late starting place.

I have stayed at Polo Towers. No comparison to DVC resorts! If I remember correctly, one bedroom has a king and the other 2 doubles. Or maybe they both had kings. The living-dining area is much smaller than DVC. There is a wonderful lounge at the top that has an incredible view of the Strip. The location is very nice - between Alladin and MGM and across the street from Monte Carlo and New York New York. If this is a free vacation, it's a good deal. Watch out for timeshare people - they're VERY high pressure.
I agree - don't miss the water show at Bellagio. It is fantastic. I spent about 2 hours there one day just watching.
There are a number of other free things - the volcano eruption at Mirage, the pirate battle at Treasure Island. We enjoyed just walking around loking at the different resorts. Not unlike what we do at WDW.
One thing - June is unbelievably hot. Be prepared!

My DW and I stayed at the Polo Towers this past year (exchanged another timeshare we own). We are Las Vegas junkies and love the atmosphere, food and entertainment. When we visit LV we are not as concerned with accommodations as we might otherwise be if we were visiting elsewhere.
What Polo Towers has in its favor:
1. Location, Location, Location. It is on the strip, between Aladdin and MGM grand. The Monte Carlo is across the road. As with everything in Vegas the distances between where you are and where you want to go are always further than you think.
2. There is a great bar with an outstanding view of the strip on the top floor of the building.
What Polo Towers is lacking:
1. The room was dated. There was much more wear and tear then I expected. The furniture is in need of being replaced soon.
2. Being located on the strip and having a balcony, I was anticipating using it to watch the strip come alive every night, however the balcony was useless. It was too small, very dirty, and did not include any furniture or chairs to use.
3. There is no casino, restaurants or nightly entertainment on property.
If you are going to try to compare with DVC, you may be disappointed. We spent very little time in our condo and so the accommodations were fine for our needs. I am not sure we will stay there again. Since we were never in the unit, always ate out, and felt we could easily have as much fun in a hotel room that we will save our exchanges for other accommodations throughout the world.

Thanks for the info and tips on the Polo Towers. We are really not trying to compare it to a DVC resort, just trying to get an idea to what to expect.
I know it will be hot http://emoticons4u.informationalot.com/cool/1245.gif there, here is the weather for the next 10 days in Vegas. http://www.weather.com/weather/local/USNV0049
We plan on doing a lot of resort hopping http://e4u.consoleradar.com/crazy/328.gif since we are not really into gambling.
