I-4 Closed in Orlando

My parents are currently on a driving trip through Florida. My mother just told me that they heard on the radio that I-4 in and out of Disney is closed due to the fires and smoke. Traffic must be horrible on this busy holiday weekend.

I just read not only I-4, but both the Beeline & Greenway (417) are closed from the airport. Also parts of 192. I have no idea how you would get from the airport to WDW with those roads closed.

We will be arriving in Kissimmee on Thursday and we are watching the road closngs with much interest.

According to the traffic radio this morning, all roads are open! Sunday was a really bad day, but today looks good. The Disney area had a big rain yesterday. (I got SOAKED) that lasted for about 2 hours so hopefully that will help some!

Travel was smooth Monday around 4pm to the airport from the HRH. Sunday at the hotel was terrible! We walked out of our room and it smelled like a candle was burning in the hallways. When we got to the pool there was a haze that was looming over it. It cleared about an hour and a half later when the wind changed directions. When we got back to our room there was a message telling us about the fires and if we had breathing problems to stay in doors. It also said that visibility on I-Drive was at a minimume and not to drive anywhere if we didn't have to.

We have seen a weather forecast showing rain in Orlando today. Hopefully this will help keep the roads open.
