Last year when we rode the monorail we didn't get a chance to sit up front with the conductor. I was wondering if the front is wheelchair accessible or not. If it isn't then it really doesn't matter.

I would say that it is definitely NOT accessible. When you go in, here is a tight squeeze between the door and the control console to get to the seating area. You could not stay in the door area as that would block the operator's access to the control console.

Thanks for the answer. It's not the one that I wanted but it will have to do. I really wanted to see the view but I don't think I could leave Megan in the back.

I was wondering if I should even try to get Jackie a ride in the front of the monorail during our next visit. What I was thinking was her dad can carry her into the cab and I can take her wheelchair into the handicapped car, that way her wheelchair would be available when she gets off. Do you think that would work?

Yes that will work. We've done that a number of times with our daughter. My husband just helps her into the front and I take the chair or (stroller years ago) into the regular cars.

Last week, they let all 4 of us ride in the front, while our wheelchair rode unattended in the first car.

Cool! There will be 5 of us so I will ride with the wheelchair and let DH and the kids have the pleasure of riding up front ;) Thanks for answering.

Thanks for the idea. I can get my sister and brother into the nose and I can take my sisters chair into the handicapped car and ride with it. I have been on trips by myself and have sat in the front and they haven't been in there since our mother passed away. This would be a real treat for them. Thanks again.
