we have dined at the chef's table several times, but never the main dining room. my husband is thinking about wearing his tux. would he be out of place?:p

I don't think so at all although on any given night he might be the only one in a tux. If that would make him feel uncomfortable then perhaps he should just wear a suit or a jacket.
Does he wear a tux to the chef's table? If he does then I'd say go with the tux if he wants...the main room is so elegant as you know.

If he would not feel uncomfortable if he was the only one wearing one then I would say go for it. The main dining room is very elegant and IMHO a man wearing a tux would certainly fit in.
Hope you both have a wonderful time.

I say - YES.
We too only did the Chef's table , but are planning to do the main dining room as well.
I guess I gotta get a Tux now too.
