I just called home and checked my messages, and there was a message from someone from DVC "calling on behalf of my guide."

They were calling VB members to let them know that VB was nearly sold out, and they were offering a special promotion incentive to members to purchase an add-on.

My DH would KILL me if I called about more points... :) - but I'm curious...

Does anyone know if they're offering anything more than we've discussed here? It's $15/point, right?

I'm waiting for that, "50% off - Fire Sale" :)

I would like to know this as well.

Anyone know what they are offering?

No call here... yet. Then again, my guide has never called me.

The member site has the notification that Vero is 90% sold and then a link additional information. The only information is the current $15 MB for add-on purchases over 100 points (must be same Use Year as current points).

Here is the deal. just talked to my guide:

I think you have to be a VB owner:

you can either have MB for $15 or

pay$74 and keep all your points.

Min. pt purchase: 50

You're right.............$15 off for MB ($69) or $10 off and keep 2002 points ($74) I was waiting on the MB paperwork to arrive but have since called my guide to switch over to the discount (after reading about it on the Dis............thanks!) It's been a week since my AMEX has been charged. I hope to be getting some kind of paperwork soon.

I was only adding on 50 points so I just didn't want to go through the hassle of a resale and possibly not getting it and then not being able to buy from DVC. My initial VB contract was a resale though and I would do it again if I found a good deal........Well, if I had the money first ;)

Does anyone know if you have to already own at Vero to get the incentive?

Does anyone know which use-year months are left?

When I called my guide, the first question he asked me was if I already owned VB. Once I confirmed it, he said I should be getting a call from their Marketing Department for the offer.

He also said that April has very few points left and not too many points for December, but better than April.

Our use year (Sept) sold out 3 months ago, I am glad we added on before it sold out.

P.S. What is Richyams going to say when VB finally sells out??

Although it has taken nearly ten years, although the resort is only a shadow of its original plans, although the one dark spot on DVC guides is lying to get people to buy VB, although its horrible, pitiful sales caused Disney to nix any possibility of there ever being another off site DVC resort, although that stupid dog never existed(or is that HH?), I am still happy to have it as an option.

I will be especislly glad that guides will no longer have to resort to lying to sell VB.

Just in case anyone wanted to know if you needed to be a current member at Vero to get this deal: the answer is NO. My guide saw my post on this thread, and called to let me know that any member can add on and get the discount. If my stay at Vero in about 22 days goes well, I will probably add on 50 points. :p

I really don't need to be thinking about more points but can't quite figure out how to stop. My question is how can Disney sell Vero for $74/pt without MB. I thought all points were always sold at the same rate ($84). If this is so it is a better deal than essentially renting your points back to Disney at $5/pt using MB ($69/pt).

Do you have to buy 50 more to get the $74.? I could maybe talk DH into another 25 but I am sure he would not go for another 50.
We own 215 at vero already with a December use year

Well Cruelladeville... I guess you can't talk bad about your guide on here can you? (Not that you would) Big Brother is always listening I guess!

At all the other resorts, you have to add on 100 or more to get MB price. Not sure about Vero.

My guide hasn't called me either! We were thinking about adding 100-200 points already at Vero. We have 100 there already and have been using them for Vero and to cruise. We realized we needed more. This is coming at a perfect time. I am calling tomorrow to get the details. Hope they have our use year available!:D

My guide mentioned 50 pts as the amount needed for MB, except that I am thinking of just doing the $74 and banking the points for next year. I really, really want to try a beach cottage just for a couple of days, it's a dream for me. DH's worry is how to pay for dues--but it's only about another $20 or so, isn't it? Funny, he didn't worry at all about the monthly payment:rolleyes:
