Onsite disney hotels?

I was just wondering, what bargains are to be had if you book direct with disney for a hotel,and how do you obtain the discount codes(im sitting here suffering the holiday blues),after just a few days back, and cant help dream that perhaps we might like to stay onsite, wilderness lodge or coronardo springs.

I would like to get a rough price for a room, and scout round for car hire and flights myself(like last time),im hopeing for may 2004 but DH is still gunning for las vegas and the grand canyon, so if I can put up a good fight(with a good price!!), he might come round to my way of thinking LOL!!!.

So ideas tips,and recommendations wanted please!.

You can find the rack rates on Disney's own site (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisneyworld/resorts/resortshomeindex?id=ResortsRoot). Obviously these are before any discounts, but still cheaper than booking a package through a tour operator.

For all the current discounts you need to go to Mousesavers (http://www.mousesavers.com/). The problem is that most of the discounts are generally not available until a few months beforehand. I think conventional wisdom is to book your room directly with Disney (so that your booking is secured) and then keep checking for discounts.

The other option is Dreams Unlimited. Once you've made your booking, they will keep checking the codes for you, although, from what I've read it's luck of the draw - some of the agents are better than others.
