Lyn...I can't believe it, I was just telling the story about my DD yesterday, you didn't have to play..."can you top this" LOL It can be damgerous when you are allergic. But you will be everyone's favorite person on board, I mean with the pain killers and all.
I am trying to get through this week unscaved (sp?) This was the week last year where everything went wrong.

Sorry i forgot to answer you:yo-yo: :yo-yo: (<- me lately)
We are driving in on Saturday. 16 of us. It would be great for your DD and my DS to get together with the other kids. He hangs out with everyone. He's an only child so he's happy when others are around he has cousins coming but he's the youngest by a few years so they will probably do things he can't. He will be in the lab about half of the time.
House is getting crazy now that we are so close to crusin'

Feel very sorry for anyone with tooth problems, especially during a cruise! Anyway, just wanted to say that I had dental problems on our Western cruise last year, and needed urgent treatment. No dentist on board the Magic, but was directed to the new Medical Centre in Cozumel. Although it's in a dodgy area (take a cab: too far to walk) it is bright and very new. The treatment was first class: I was seen and treated within the hour, and was back at Carlos and Charlies in time for lunch with DD (CM). While at the MC, we saw a vast number of crew from other cruise-ships who needed medical/dental treatment, so it is well-known. The Mexican dentist spoke little English, but the nurse did: on my return to UK I saw my own Dentist, and he said the Mexican guy had done a first class job!
While I hope NONE of you require treatment on your vacations, I thought it may just be of help to anyone, should they need treatment. Happy hols to you all. Nat:Pinkbounc

Stay safe and let us know how the storm hits TAMPA area...
I have my family in KW and they had to get boarded up. They sent the family an email telling us the conditon at KW. This is their first full yr down there, so new experience for them. I guess the gov't wants the bars to close at 10pm so all the town drunks will be home when the storm hits. I guess this is a normal thing for the bars to stay open and last out the storms,,,lol
Welcome trinibjill We are a great bunch of poeple.
Mary Rose: did I tell you my son is 11 as well and love SCIENCE and all that fun stuff... he too plans on being in the lab all day..
Lynn : are you feeling better?:hug:Natdrenco: Thanks for the great advice. I will have to tell you guys the story of Busch Gardens Water Country in Vir. and my husbands broken face after colliding with my head on a water ride... Talk about a BAD vacation....:headache:

Hi all--
Thanks for all of the well wishes. It's a pretty ordinary night here in Tampa Bay so far. Well, ordinary for us at least. The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that Pinellas County (us, Clearwater-St. Petersburg) and Hillsborough County (Tampa) are under a Level C Evacuation. Between the two counties the evacuation covers 800,000 people.
Travis and I went to get some supplies earlier today and the stores were packed. I don't think there is a gallon of water or a single C or D battery in the county! Luckily, we were able to stock up on cat food and human food and a few goodies from ABC Liquor. ;) (Anyone want to join us for a hurricane party?)
Here's a picture of the "water" section from Super Target taken earlier today. Notice the, um, lack of water! :)
http://www.knology.net/~jwoodrum/target.jpg
The roads were jammed much earlier in the day but things have died down quite a bit now. Pretty calm and quiet as far as the weather goes too. Generally, we always see really nice conditions when a hurricane is out in the gulf. They tend to suck all the moisture out of the air which gives us a break from the humidity we're so accustomed to! Very quite out there now with no wind or anything.
I guess they are predicting that the hurricane will make landfall around 2 P.M. tomorrow or so. Travis gets the day off as everything is closed and boarded up around here.
It's funny because with all the news surrounding the NJ Gov. the storm has been pushed to the back burner on the main news sites! Well, at least here in Tampa Bay we think the storm is a bigger story! ;)
We'll keep you guys updated!

Not sure where Jason and Travis are. Hopefully they evacuated if they are in the evacuation zones. We are in a house so no evacuation needed for us but all mobile homes and people directly on the coast have to be evacuated. We are expecting winds of about 70-120 mph. Gusts up to 150 mph. We are buttoning down and getting ready. Last warning puts it going right over us.
Send some Pixie Dust our way and Jason and Travis's way for a safe day tomorrow:(

That's a good question, Jason. I actually have a pair of black capris that are scalloped on the hem and my co-workers call them my "Pirate Pants". Wait until I tell them that I will be right in style for Pirate night. They already think I'm crazy so it can't hurt! They're a bunch of Brats.
I'm thinking a bandana on the head and a peasant blouse and an eye patch would work. Think that is a little over the top?

I'm prepared, I got a fresh bottle of Scotch tonight. :teeth: Anyway, no evacuations for us, we're not in a zone. I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. Could be quite a storm. It looks like it's making the turn to the north like they predicted. The national weather service official track http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ftp/graphics/AT03/refresh/AL0304W+GIF/130318W.gif puts it right at the mouth of Tampa Bay sometime tomorrow. Of course we know that could change, but surprisingly the forcast hasn't shifted a huge amount though.

Hi Carolyn!
Glad to hear you guys are not in an evac. zone and have everything prepared for the storm. We're in North Clearwater. Basically, we're not too far from where the Courtney Campbell Causeway hits land on the Pinellas side.
We're also not located in an evacuation zone and we'll be here thoughout the length of the storm. Although, I think if I was in an evac. zone I would have left long ago! :)
Talk to you soon and take care.

My DH really needs a vacation, badly! LOL
Poor guy........ remember he fell down the family room stairs last week? Well yesterday he dropped his travel mug full of coffee as he was getting into his truck yesterday morning. And, just now, before he even got out of the house, he walked past the kitchen table and must've brushed against one of his travel mugs full of coffee and knocked it on the floor, making a HUGE LAKE of hot coffee, splashing on his pants and shoe. LOL I'm glad it's nothing more serious than spilled coffee, but he really needs to get away. LOL
He is NOT usually like this, I know he's had a lot of stress at work. I hope he makes it another 2 weeks till the cruise!!
:scared: (Guess who got the "fun" of cleaning up the spilled coffee???? LOL)

Hi everyone!
Well we are expecting Charley here in the next few hours...rain is beginning and some wind but nothing too bad yet! Hopefully will all be ok. Our house is in the surge zone but no evacuation here either. The canal across the street is direct access to the Caloosahatchee River so we are a little worried about water. It took FOREVER to take down the backyard toys (trampoline, swingset, etc) and supplies at Walmart, Publix etc were hard to find but we have plenty of stuff and I, being the candle nut I am, have plenty of candles to light the house! The scents in here should be interesting with all of my Partylite boxes! Our area (Ft. Myers/Cape Coral) has been going nuts - most houses are boarded up. They are still saying 80mph wind gusts for us and the eye passing by us at around 2pm where it will have been increased to category 3. Should be an interesting ride!
Good Luck all fellow Floridians in Charleys path! Hopefully will be able to talk to you all soon!

trinibjill - my daughter, Katie, is also 10. My younger son is 12 and he'll be in that same group. His name is Kyle.
There'll be a lot of Dis kids in that age group.
Our best wishes go to everyone in Florida. I have a brother in law in the Keys and one in the panhandle. We plan to give them a call tomorrow. The other one in Ft. Lauderdale should be out of the storm path.
Our prayers are with everyone in Florida. I hope the weather men are wrong and it passes you by and goes out to sea.

PRE-CRUISE PARTY: Anyone having one? I just sent out "evites" (www.evites.com) to DH and DSs. They had a "Bon Voyage" theme that I used. I'm going to have a pre-cruise party for our family on the Sunday night before the cruise. That's when we'll all sit down together and fill out the documents, and I plan on having party food, and I'm going to make up some DCL trivia questions, and give out prizes. LOL I'll see who's been paying attention to all of my cruise chatter for the past year! LOL I'll probably get some Disney Dollars, some of those light-up glo necklaces, and anything else that might appeal to teenaged boys, as the prizes. I'm going to ask trivia questions such as "How many pools are on the Magic?", "What's the name of the tropical theme restaurant?" "What's the left side of a ship called?" etc. Any other ideas for the party that you can think of?? :sunny:

Joanna.... I live in SW Cape Coral and they are all going crazy here because the surge they were expecting at 4-6ft which would have been bad has now changed to 8-10ft which means major flooding and home flooding as well. I live right across the street from a small canal not even a mile from the Caloosahatchee river so we are definitely concerned about water! We have the garage reinforced but that won't stop the water. As you said, no true panic here, but definite concern about flooding. They are changing the sewer/water in our neighborhood (if your friend lives in the Cape she can fill you all in about the water project they made a mess out of here) which causes our road to flood when it rains so I can't imagine what it will look like after today!
Just watching the news and heard that Tampa area may turn off all power to downtown Tampa to salavge it! So that can give you an idea what is going on down here. They are giving our area now 80-110mph gusts and the movement of the hurricane possibly moving more to the east more which will be a major problem for our area and Charlotte county area below the Tampa area. They keep saying "wobbles" in the track of Charley that they have to keep a close eye on to possibly go more NE instead of NNW track they were thinking of! Who knows!!! :) We will "ride out the storm" just the same.
Making my mudslides early in case the power goes out and the blender won't work! LOL
Thanks for all the well wishes and more to all of the rest of you as well!

Carolyn--
I think you can do that with relative ease as long as the "main" person on the reservation isn't the one you want to change.
I think that if they have already sent out the docs and you request a change they may charge you an additional fee to send out new ones.
missinshadow

Thanks for the info. I would think that since we have to scratch out and rewrite all of the info on all of our docs anyways ( all wrong) it shouldn't be a problem. They even have completely wrong last names and addresses on most of our docs not just misspells.
Anyway, thanks for the info. and i am glad you didn't receive much of the storm either. We were very lucky once again.

Glad all is well with you guys, Melanie, let us know as soon as possible how everything is going over there. My mother in law and sister and brother all live in Orlando and they were having bad winds the last time we spoke with them. I guess if they are brewing now they will be gone in 2 weeks.

I keep thinking about those people sailing today. DCL Travel has major problems on their hands, not to mention the poor people stressing about the flights. All the early flights from all the airlines out of NYC to Orlando have been cancelled. Assuming they can get these people on late morning noon flights they should make the 6:30 sailing tonight.
I am now a wonderful wife having the foresight to say we spend the week in disney before the cruise. I figure I've built in a six day cushion. We'll be watching a lot of that Travel Channel in the next week.
I have a really big favor to ask, could I leave someone my cell phone # before I leave in case something goes on with changes to the cruise due to weather. I will not have any internet access for the week before and while I will be @ disney, we all know all the important information will be posted here first :lol :lol
I know someone else will also be at the OKWest the week before, do they want to exchance cell phone #'s also. If another storm does kick up I figure we'll be in the same boat LOL so to speak.

Doreen.. I think we are somehow related... DH and I had a party last night and he said the same thing to me - Do you think we can fit the smoothy maker in our carry on...LOL.
As far as the hurricane... my brother in law's mother lives in Punta Gorda - where the eye hit.... her house was destroyed.. thankfully she is not hurt but of course is terribly upset. BIL is trying to get down there but has been told that even if he flies into Tampa or Sarasota and drives down , that local officials are not going to allow him to get near where his mothers house was. BIL, of course is totally stressing and to complicate matters his father is in a nursing home in Punta Gorda and they dont even know when they will be able to get to see him.
I hope all our DISers fared better than that and we all continue to be safe.

Maryanne, when do you leave for WDW. I think I am there before you. Sad thing is, daughter and sister will go to Magic Kingdom, while DH, and DS will drive to Daytona for the day. Both areas are pretty barron today.
I read on the main board that RCL(I think it was them) left the port 3 hrs earlier. Can you imagine if you missed the boat.
I agree will all of you go there a day or two earlier . Ginny: My prayers with your BIL mother. How terrible. Here I am worried about going on a cruise... while others lost lifes and belongings. May God hear our prayers....
But still,, the selfish side of me says,, pack less to fit the SMOOTHIE MAKER :hyper: :teeth:
Ok where is MELANIE we have heard from Jason and Travis.. anyone else is that area??

I know what you mean, Doreen! Here I am getting ready to go out shopping this morning for "prizes" that I'm going to give to DH and DSs at our "pre-cruise" party next weekend. I'm making up a trivia quiz and I'll see how carefully they've been listening to me for the past year while I've been planning this cruise. LOL But it does seem selfish to think about prizes after what happened to so many people down there :( Oh well. :worried:
I hope Melanie can check in with us soon. Is it just Melanie, and Jason and Travis, from our thread, who live down there??

Doreen, we leave next Sunday the 22nd for 5 nights at the OkWest, then moving to the Radisson Friday morning.
I know what you mean about feeling so badly for those people who have lost so much, while we are going about our planning. Very thought provoking.

Thanks for all your thoughts and kind wishes for my BIL's mother...She is such a sweet lady and has been through so much this year that my heart just breaks for her.
I was just talking to my best friend in Sarasota and she said they fared ok but she was very scared. She said that because they expected the storm to hit closer to Tampa/Clearwater area.. they had told residents in those areas to head south to the Port Charlotte/Arcadia area... right where the storm changed course to and hit. I feel terrible for those people who thought they were doing the right thing only to be heading right into the worst of the storm.

I hope all our DISers fared better than that and we all continue to be safe.

I am so sorry to hear about this, Ginny :( :( I'm glad she wasn't harmed, but I can't imagine how it must feel to have your house destroyed :( :( All of those poor people down there, dealing with this today :( :( :(

I just hope that Melanie and her family are alright. They are in Cape Coral right near Captiva Island there why eyewall hit. That area is in very bad shape right now. I'm sure they are probably without power and everything. I hope their home is ok. It is extremely torn up down there. Hopefully we will hear from them! I'm sure chatting on the internet is the least of anyone's worries down there though right now.
My heart breaks for all the people in Florida and our prayers are with them.
I hope all of our DIS friends are ok.
Ginny I am sorry to hear about your family. I hope everything works out for them. I can't imagine how awful it is not to be able to get to them when something like this happens.
Has anyone heard from Melanie? Cape Coral was hit very bad.
I feel selfish now worring about how we would get to the cruise ship if this happened when we were going.

Ginny...Our best to your BIL and family.
DH spoke to his mother this morning, she lives in Orlando, about a mile from Sea World, they have no power, and some shingles were blown off their roof, but otherwise they are OK.
I do hope Melanie and her family are OK and their home survived without damage.
Now tonight and tomorrow is the rain for us from Charley.

I have gone into Yellow Alert in my house. We are going to be packed and ready to go by Thursday evening.
We're due to fly out next Sunday, in the event the next tropical storm hits and it looks like there will be a problem with us either flying out of the NYC area or into Orlando on that day and flight, I will start to try and get us on a flight (any flight) starting Friday.
My kids are LOL The last Disney cruise we took 4 years ago, something happened last minute and we ended up flying standby earlier in the day then we were supposed to and we were split up on different flights.
I've decided to be prepared!

Glad to hear from those in Florida. Melanie is still in our thoughts.
Spoke with my son in Plant City. He said everything was fine there. My son who lives in Tampa was evacuated and he rode out the storm in Plant City. My daughter-in-law in North Carolina said the wind lifted her car and really shook the house. But she is ok and was more worried about the family in Florida. She's so sweet. She did say the dog had a rough time with the weather, barking and all.
It's raining here now. Not sure what to expect tomorrow. The forecast doesn't seem very stable.
Our prayers are with all those who lost so much. Pray that they get the services set up quickly to bring them relief.

Thanks everyone that welcomed me to the group.
Winnyis - I used to live in Burl Twnshp (Bridle Club 12 yrs) Sold the house went to live nearer to my DD's. The money from the house paid for this cruise.
I knew about the DCL board - copied the cruise guide. Purchased the passporter's guide - it's awesome. I met Fred the one who did the dis meet in Apr in Jersey. There was a man there who wrote a new book on Disney Trivia. Very - very informative.
I didn't know about the threads of people that are going to the same place.
My other DD (tiggerwannabe) told me to look for a disboard like yours. I found you last week.
I ordered my magnet - booked the excursions - & my DD & DGD & I have been talking about what we are bringing (etc)
We are looking forward to meeting everyone.

One Million still without power in Florida, I'm sure that is why we haven't heard from Melanie.
So what do you all think with us getting a hurricane when its our time to sail, do you think we will have crystal clear waters and sail the Western Caribbean OR outsmart GASTON and visit the Eastern Caribbean. I like what someone else said on another thread that "Gaston" the name for a storm with a "G" has a score to settle with Disney LOL
In 2000 we had a very interesting cruise with Disney. We didn't know from one minute to the next where we were going since we were out running a hurrcaine. We found it to be great. We stopped in Cozumel, Freeport and we did Castaway Cay for 2 days. The captain kept us out of the storm and we didn't even see a drop of rain.
I feel as long as we get on board everything will be fine.
Last year we left for our cruise the day after the big black out in New York, all of the planes were either cancelled or very late. Some of the cruisers didn't make it to the ship at all and some chose to start driving to another state to get a plane.
Right then I knew that I had made the right decision to travel the day before the cruise and that I would never travel on the same day the cruise leaves, too many things can go wrong.

So there's already a storm named Gaston?? LOL I'm not too worried about what would happen once we got on board, it's just getting TO Florida and onto the ship on time that I'm a concerned about. I just hope we all have good weather so we can make down to get onto the ship. After that, I know the captain would keep us all safe, even if we had to divert to other ports or just stay at sea.
I am trying not to say much here at home, but is anyone else worried about the weather, pre-cruise, like I am? We are flying in the day before, but if there's bad weather that day, I'm worried that we still wouldn't be able to get on another flight in time. I know there is nothing we can do about the weather, and usually I don't worry about weather, but after waiting ALLLLL this time for this cruise..... Well, you all know what I mean. LOL
P.S. (I don't mean to make light of those poor people in Florida who lost their lives, homes, and those still who have no electricity :( )

I know just what you mean Terry.
My 13 year old just came down and gave me the weather forecast for NEXT Sunday. Granted a lot can change by then, but so far we're in the clear to get out.
I too am not concerned once we're on the ship. I've sailed in a hurricane before (Andrew in '94) We were fine. OK I admit one night it was a little rocky LOL.

All right you guys...now I'm really starting to get worried. We had no choice but to fly in the day of the cruise, sooo now I am officially worried! :worried: Our flight is at 7am, so I'm hoping we would still get there in time. If not, I guess we'll be doing Disney. I'm still trying to find one more dressy outfit for either semi-formal or formal night. Not having much luck! Well, I'll just have to keep looking. Are all of you bringing your kids to formal & semi-formal night? I figured that would be the one or two nights I would let my kids skip dinner with us.(Not that I think they have any plans on joining us for dinner!)LOL! I really hope someone hears from Melanie soon, I really hope her & her family are ok & we haven't heard from her due to electrical being out. Anyway, hope everyone has a great week! Kathy :wave2:

Send Jessie some Pixie dust***** My dogs are my babies as well. I do dog sitting and I stay there with the dogs since I hate them to be alone. Start looking now for some reliable care for the dog... You need this vacation.
I am starting to get scared about cruising with such Bad luck people.. Just kidding. I hear that misery loves company. This AM my husband got a ticket for tinted windows in his SPORTS CAR... the cop was rude,,, and huugghhh... We need to get away... Figures the court date is the Tuesday we get back..
WINNY: Fine I will bring my own ICE and SMOOTHIE MAKER... but I may need to borrow some of your cooler supplies,,lol (just kidding).

Bobby,
I hope that Mickey makes a full and speedy recovery. Not sure about trip insurance...there are some folks who don't understand that part of the family just has a little more fur. If it doesn't cover it, do you know if your vet would board your recovering fur-baby? At least then, your daughter (and the rest of the family) would know that he is in good hands.
Key West has a wonderful store that is geared to dog and cat owners. I can't remember the name, but it's on the shopping in paradise guide. You could get Mickey a really nice get-well gift.

Bobby - I know just how you feel. I had to rush my cat to the hospital a couple of weeks ago. I thought he was dying. I had to leave him there. I cried my heart out. He's my best friend. Fortunately with IV's & medicine he is much better. There is always hope.
The passporters guide says "Trip interruption/cancellation coverage is great for circumstances beyond your control" It also says "This insurance plan covers trip cancellations, travel delays, emergency medical" - etc
I hoe this helps. God speed:flower3:

Bobby - I hope your dog recovers quickly. Our Westie spend five nights in the vet hospital last year. It was a very stressful time.
Will your vet board him for you while you're away? We were going to do that last fall when Cody was recovering but we ended up getting a house sitter.

Bobby-- I hope "Mickey" will be okay. Our prayers are with you and your family through this difficult time. I am a pet groomer and my heart breaks when I receive a call that one of my clients has passed. I think the owner ends up consoling me because it upsets me to here these things. All of our pooch prayers are with you for Mickey.

Oh Bobby :grouphug:
I'm so sorry about your puppy dog! Tell Jessie we are thinking about all of you and praying for Mickey. I second the idea about maybe having the vet take care of Mickey. In 1995 our epileptic (sp?) dog had a grand mal seizure in my sister's care while we were at WDW. The vet took care of her during the rest of our vacation and allowed us to call everyday for an update and even more than once a day when "Snookie" took a down turn. Even though we were really sad during that vacation, I know our pup was in excellent hands and was well cared for. Of course, as you might imagine, the care was not cheap, I just thought I should mention that.
I don't know whether trip insurance covers this type of happening or not, but I wish you all the best and hope everything works out positively over the next few days. Under the best of circumstances, care of our pets is the hardest part of any vacation isn't it?

Hi All...I just spoke to Cindy and Bobby...They are all devastated. As anyone who has lost a dog knows, it is hard. They are going to the vet now to see how Mickey made it through the night and for hopefully a good update. The bad thing is he has internal injuries, which means internal bleeding. So who knows about a good update.
Hopefully they will post when they get back.

Doreen or Kathy (or any other mudslide junkies) - have you ever had the TGI Fridays Mudslides that come in the bottle with the booze already in it. Im thinking about buying that to bring with us so I dont have to bring separate bottles of Absolut, Kahlua & Baileys.
My DH makes the best mudslides (he adds really ripe bananas to them) so I am spoiled and just want to make sure the Fridays stuff is semi good so Im not disappointed.
And Doreen... I will share honey - dont worry!!!

We have a bottle of this in our fridge right now, along with their orange "Creamsicle" mix. We like the TGIF mixes, they taste pretty good! They might not be as good as your own recipe, but I think they've convenient. I bet you could get some bananas on the ship and add them in when you make them. I've never had a Mudslide with banana in it, but it sounds good :)

The brand is Back to Basic Smoothie Blast. We tested out last friday with margaritas and guavaberry coladas and it worked pretty good.
Cindy - your welcome to join us.. you need a drink after all the stress youve been under lately. Im like you I cant drink alot or I get tired too. I had friends from work over last friday and we drank from 2PM - 10PM... I was a wreck the next day.. I dont know how they do that all the time.

Welcome home to Mickey the dog!! :sunny: I am SO relieved to hear that he's OK and that the Moran Clan will be sailing! I have to say, I was a bit down today thinking of the possibility of your family possibly missing the cruise. It's so hard to be so excited about the cruise, then to hear bad news like Mickey, and those still effected by the hurricane. What a roller coaster of emotions!
Regarding the Radisson meet: Our flight arrives in Orlando around 2:30pm on Friday. We'll be heading directly over after we get our luggage! Hopefully the weather will be good that day so we can all meet around the pool. :sunny: I'm sure I will recognise Bobby, but who else will be there? Tinibjill...Please let me know who will be with you and where you will be staying pre night.
I would say poolside for the DIS meet unless it rains then we can meet at the bar inside. I would recommend going to the far side of the pool, not where the tables for the restaurant are, so we will be out of the way (of people who want to have a quiet vacation) LOL. Looking at the pool (all the way to the left)
We will be arriving very late afternoon, must stop at the liquor store first.
Getting excited but am having reservations about going, having a bit of illness here (nothing catchy) but it has me concerned.
Have a great evening, and what is the deal with Jason and Travis now. WHERE ARE THEY???????????

MORANCLAN - I am so glad to her Mickey is home. Hope the healing is quick and complete.
We will be at the Radisson early evening. Do you think you will still be by the pool?
For those of you who are packing smoothie makers and mixes and other assorted alcoholic treats: tell me what the heck you are doing! I've been reading this thread forever and I am still trying to figure out how and when you make your drinks. Do you carry them around ship, up on deck, or do you have them pre-dinner while dressing? I know I sound like a moron, but I really have been trying to figure this all out. On past cruises I have indulged on the "Drink of the Day" and it can get costly. You cant miss my family... Im 5'11 with blonde hair, DH is 6'1 with light brown hair and our kids are tall skinny wild blondes... we have a picture up on Jasons site and we all pretty much still look like that.
Sandy... DH and DBIL will definately walk around with their beer, I even got them a little soft sided 6 pack cooler to bring to the pool. As for the smoothies..... we will have happy hour while getting ready and I have no problem walking around with my own drink.. I'll buy one of the drinks of the day from DCL and then keep the glass and I will just blend it with everyone else.
Mary Rose... Wow that was a good deal I had no idea it was that expensive.. they had a big sale last week where smoothie makers, quesadilla makers and an electric griddle were all $17.99.. My mom got the extra 15% off for me so it was a great deal..

DH is concerned she will sit there and say " Hey, this is what happens next"! if she goes now and then on the ship. LOL

Am thinking myself of doing another Palo or Topsiders on Pirates night. Unless I just get the plain Sirloin Steak (That is always an option) We'll see, have plenty of time to decide.
I'm sure we will still be at the Radisson at night, just try to get the kids away from the pool.

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally back with power last night after losing it Friday at 2:30pm!!!
Thanks so much for all of the well wishes and worrying. We were lucky that the eye of the storm stalled a little near Sanibel or it would have went over our home. We made it out with minimal damage - trees, roof (nothing at all bad), etc... but we are fine and that was my concern. We had to drive to Naples on Saturday morning just to get a phone signal to notify family we were ok (Dad in CT was ready to drive down to find us) and then to locate Mom and my sister (Who are in Charlotte County!) was awful!!! They are both ok - home damage but they are ok and homes can be rebuilt.
I would have signed on last night but it took forever to clean out the house - the fridges were disgusting and all the food we lost really aggravates me! The boys are out of school until Thursday. My poor youngest had his 1st birthday yesterday! What a way to celebrate! We had to cancel his party for this weekend and will do it when we return from the cruise. We are still going on that no matter what! We will be canceling a few excursions due to money needed during and after the storm, but we are still going which was my main concern! :)
Again - can't thank you all enough for worrying and kind wishes! Hope those of you who are in FL or have family here made out ok also!

Melanie - Thank goodness you're okay! Sorry to hear about all you have been through. We've been so worried and I hope things can get back to some sort of normal for you and your loved ones really soon!
Kathy - I grew up in Old Mill Basin- East 54th between L & M to be exact. My DH grew up right around the corner on E. 53rd. Looks like we were neighbors (which of course explain the similar and terrific accents) In fact my DMom still lives there but she is moving to Old Bridge with my DSis & her family sometime this summer. My other DSis still teaches at P.S. 203 on Ave. M, she commutes from Freehold everyday :earseek: I see you're a tad bit younger than me and DH (43/44) but my one DSis is 40 and my DBro is 39 turning 40 in Nov. Wont be long now you lucky guys! Wish it was us sailing too! If any of you are staying at the Hyatt overnight on the 27th, look out for 2 lost Brits(Maria and Simon) who are sailing on the Magic 28th. DD's best pals! Ive given them LOADS of hints and info, but if they look confused then maybe you could just point them in the right direction for me. It is their FIRST Disney cruise, and first time in USA for Simon, so its VERY EXCITING for them. Now that I have read through all of the pages of posts I missed:

I see some people did have family and friends in FL areas that were hit - our thoughts and prayers go out to them!
And I see we have still had people hit by this little pre-cruise curse of sickness and accidents so I hope everyone is doing better and feeling better! We are in the home stretch now so no more getting sick or hurt - OR HIT BY HURRICANES!!!!!!!
And did I see something about TGI Friday drinks !!! My gallon of MUDSLIDES had to be thrown away!!!!!!!! The horror!!! Thank god there was only a little bit left so it wasn't such a waste! Looking forward to many more on the ship.....

I'll get your maiden name on board. Those officers were terrific to the kids. My DS lives in the OBPD baseball cap he received as part of the program and I'm sure he'll be wearing it onboard.

Doreen - we are staying at the Hampton Inn in Lake Buena Vista from Sat-Wed, then we go to the Royal Pacific at Universal so we can get that FOTL access then the Radisson on Friday.
As far as booze in Key West... we bought some last year at a place close to the ship and it wasnt any bargain but was still cheaper than onboard the ship. I remember Shirley from Perfect Gift saying that there was a Publix on Key West that had better prices so I think we may also check that out. There is a liquor store right down the road from the Radisson that has a big selection we usually stop there and load up.

Hi All!
Just paid J & T a visit. This is sad :o
I also went out today to pick up a few last minute items and will now probably need another suitcase LOL. I picked up a Smoothie Jr. at Target for $30. Ginny I looked all over and this was the best price. Good for you, you really got a steal! I also stopped at the Liquor Store (we're driving down and have the room) and I bought three big TGIF bottles. 1) Amaretto Mudslide 1) Pina Colada and 1) Creamscicle. They were on sale for $11.99 each. I seem to remember paying $17 or $18 for the big bottle so I think I saved a bit. I also bought two four packs of Kahula brand White Russians for DH. When I was paying at the counter it looked like I had enough booze for an Army. Each of the big bottles states is makes (18) 10 oz. drinks. I know this is more than DH & I can consume, so please stop by cabin 6110 for the Foo-Foo of the day, otherwise poor Mary Rose is gonna look like this all week:
Looks like this might be the booze cruise! LOL

I bought my booze at Buy Rite. I'm not sure but they look like they could be a chain. There is no bar in the back of the store, and they have huge selection. I don't live in NJ that long, but most of my local liquor stores have a very small selection and they have a bar attached in the back. That's fine in a pinch but I needed the heavy artillery for this trip ;)

We had a dog name Mickey, he was a doberman - the most wimpy doberman you ever saw - he thought he was a poodle. He didn't have a docked tail or ears and that really changed his look. He looked just like an over grown hound dog.

Yes, we did get an upgrade from cat 7 to cat 5. I was so so excited. The agent called me today. She said they DCL called her & told her to call me & change my bag tags.
It was really eerie - I was thinking of calling her today & booking a Eastern cruise for next year..
The guy that booked my cruise originally doesn't work there any more. He told me that we were going to be in 7120 originally (the one they downgraded because of the partial view) When I went to pick up the tickets I was in 7122. I told her I was disapointed.
I think I blew her ear drum out when she told me the news.

Melanie ..glad to hear you're doing okay & you had minimal damage, but darn...you didn't listen when Doreen told you "protect the mudslides at all costs." (just kidding)! Booze Cruise ...I think you are Absolutely right (no pun intended), but we're going to need this booze...remember we have a Speedo among the group! Kathy :wave2:

I;m glad you hadn't printed it yet too. Yes, It is 7098
I miss my rock yard. The house I lived in before didn't have a single blade of grass. I had pavers, bushes, trees & rocks & a huge stoop.
This new place has a yard & a deck. work work work.

I could never live without a stoop.
When I build my home in Florida, it will have a Florida room on it AND a STOOP on the front!
Took my boys to be measured for their tuxes tonight. My oldest is almost the same size as my DH.
So you if you see a middle aged lady with three handsome men in tuxes; you'll know it's me! I know a lot of people don't like to dress up but we enjoy it.

Doreen - You are so funny... I cant wait to meet you!! I know we will have a good time.
I am also normally not a big drinker... but on our last cruise on Navigator of the Seas - I got drunk every night.. of course it helped that we knew the head bartender and he told the guys behind the bar to "take care of my friends". Well lets just say the cosmo's didnt stop flowing and we actually had to tell them no more so we could go get the kids from the kids club.. We had a great time!!! I didnt pay for a drink all week - but I did tip them very very well

I have decided to bring all my mixes. I put them in a cooler that is a backpack, which is good because it must weigh 100 lbs!
