Don't mean to butt in -- since I'm not cruising with you all on the reunion cruise. But since I was on this cruise, I went to read the new thread to see what all the fuss was about this Jeff.
I was rather surprised at his comment about how you had "taken over" the thread he started. Even I knew that that thread originated here and was for those going on the reunion cruise originally. It was, I know, a harmless way of keeping the momentum going from our unique experience. I can't see anywhere that any of you made anyone feel left out. It's unfortunate that comments even had to be made and he couldn't just join in and go with the flow!
Oh, well -- keep happy thoughts and enjoy your countdown. I will miss you all and will especially miss all the planning and shared info.

In case you guys didn't notice I changed the name of the other thread and will be posting reunion things over here. I can't understand what the problem is. I didn't join the 8/28 thread until May or June. By that time you were all good friends - so what? You guys included me right in.
Remember when the DIS was fun and light-hearted?
Dori - I still want the Tee Shirts! Thanks for the offer.
Terry - Love ya kiddo!
Karen - I PM'd you. You did it right!
Cathy - Thanks for your support - sorry you can't come with us this time!

Cathy: Thank you! I feel like you have an unbiased opinion. I hope we have the opportunity to cruise together again some time :)
Mary Rose: Yes, I did notice that you changed the title of the other thread. ;)
Dori: I'm interested in the shirts, too :)

I have to agree with Cathy, I felt funny saying something on the new thread since I wasn't crusing in two years.
And for the record, I vote to TWO t-shirts, one for the old and one for the new cruise.
I've been thinking of all of you who are ill, my best wishes and prayers go out to you.

I also agree with Terry 100%. Jeff may have started the thread about the "good deal" on the 8/19 cruise but we had a thread started for Summer 2006 reunion cruise before the dates were even announced.
Lets not get worked up over this guys.. its not worth it... we all know that we had a great time together and cant wait to cruise again together... dont let anyone bring down our enthusiasm for our next adventure together.
Karen.. please give Doreen my best and tell her to get better soon... I NEED MY SMOOTHIE BUDDY TO BE HEALTHY.
Talk to you all soon

I just got off the phone with Doreen. She had the test done and the Neurologist who is the best in the area is taking her case on. He will be in tonite to see her. She wishes she had her laptop with her. I told her I am writing to you guys and updating them constantly as I get new info. She misses you all. We are both with Terry 200%. What thead are we posting on so I make sure I get all the mail.

Hi everyone:sunny:
I finished most of the pictures from the cruise. If anyone wants to view them go to http://community.webshots.com/user/trinibjill
Enjoy. I still have two more days to do. Finding time to do this kind of difficult between work & sports.
Even though I lurked around this site for a while when I finally introduced myself everyone was great. I enjoyed meeting everyone & I hope all are feeling better that have been ill.
Enoy your 2006 cruise. We are going on the XMAS Eastern cruise 2005.
God go with all of you

Hope Doreen is feeling better.,....
How Is Matt?.,..

Hi Everyone:
I can't help myself I have to post this.
When we left the cruise I had stated it would probably be our last Disney Cruise and the ONLY reason I rebooked is the chance to cruise again with the great friends we made on the Aug. 28th cruise. This was our 5th Disney cruise and DIS meet and none of the other meets turned out like this one did. I feel we made life long friends.
Jeff may have started the thread about the "good deal" on the 8/19 cruise but that had no part in my going on this cruise. As Ginny stated we were all talking about a reunion cruise before the rates even came out.
Love you all,
Lyn:sunny:
Doreen: GET BETTER SOON!!! We miss you!!
Bobby & Cindy:
Glad to see you back. Hope everything is ok.
Were you able to book the cabin you wanted from All Seasons?
Matt is still hanging in there.
You can see my comments on that matter on the other thread. Our great friend Terry was going to take a break from the boards because of those nasty comments, and we won't stand for that. We can just keep posting here and be very happy!

I can post a really Nice..hahahaah Message for Jeff...I bet he wont come back..
C'mon C'mon..Please please...
Thanks for your thoughts...
We were renting out a house to my friends...They havent paid in 3 months...and I am now trying to handle 2 mortgages...Kinda hard,,,,,
I booked the cruise, but had to take the deposit back...DONT WORRY..we are going...Just have to sell the house first...I know i will lose my discount, but thats ok..
I have been working alot of hours for the extra money, as well as Cindy...
I pray the other house will sell ASAP..
We were supposed to sell it last year, but the lady backed out..again put us in a hole last year..I rented it to my So Called friends...and well....Stopped paying and trashed the house...So we have been there cleaning and painting and fixing...
Thats what is going on..Like I said nothing thats bad..But financially its killing us..

Bobby, that is a major bummer! Hope all goes well!
Bobby & Cindy:
I am so sorry to hear about your rental house. I hope you are able to sell it real quick. Financial stresses can send you over the edge. Believe me I've been there!
I try never to get involved with anything financial with friends because it usually ends with them not being your friends anymore.
If you need to vent we are here. Sometimes just talking about it gets rid of some of the stress.

Bobby - That really, really stinks! Especially when it's a friend. I hope the house sells really fast. Nothing like coming home to something like that - sorry buddy! Glad to hear from you!
Terry - oh Terry - where are thou?
Lynn - Glad to hear Matt's hanging in
Lucy - Welcome, read here anytime. We'll be posting on the other thread too. Looks like Jeff took off.
All - I spoke to Doreen in the hospital and she is in good spirits and says hello to everyone. She's hoping to go home tomorrow!
Thanks for defending me because I didn't hijack Jeff's post. I agree with you Ginny. All the people on the other thread are really nice, so I'm not going to dwell on it.
That's all for now friends!

Jill:
I just viewed your pictures they turned out great. I also saw that mystery woman and her son in some of them. Is that the person everyone was talking about?

Hi:wave:
Yes, that is the mystery woman. Cathy (Invaderzim) identified them. Her daughter had met Samson. They happened to go on two of the excursions we went on. She was also at the pool every day around 4.
I'm glad you liked the pictures.

Hi everyone :wave2:
We're all feeling a little lousy...Nothing major though! :) All 4 of us have headaches, feeling achey, swollen glands, a bit nauseous, and Robby has a fever. I made an easy dinner, the kids are finishing up their homework, and I'm trying to relax tonight.
Joanna: I noticed that you changed the title of this thread. I love it! :sunny:
Bobby & Cindy: I'm so happy that you posted, I've been hoping you guys were doing OK. That really stinks about your former friends not paying you their rent, and trashing the house :( I wish we lived near you, John is very handy around the house, and we'd love to come and help you out to get the house in shape to sell. I hope and pray it sells quickly.
Karen: I'm glad that Doreen might be able to go home tomorrow! Can you please email or PM me with her address. I'd like to send her a card. Speaking of that, I have been in the house for most of the last 2 days, I haven't gotten a card for Stan yet :( I will make sure to go to the store tomorrow and get one for him, and for Doreen.
lyn: I know you had said that you probably wouldn't be on a DCL cruise any time soon. You don't know how happy I am to know that you and Bob will cruising!! I can't wait for us to be back at the Quiet Cove pool, enjoying the sun and sea together! :sunny:
Mary Rose: You really are a good friend  I'm counting the days till our breakfast together!
Ginny: You are so right about not getting too worked up about the whole "other thread" thing. I thought I was being nice by responding to Jeff's comments last night. Now I wish I had just not said a thing about it, at all.
Jill: I loved seeing your pictures! It's so good to see other people's pictures from the same cruise who did other things than what we did. It gives a different perspective on it :) I hope you have a wonderful time on your Dec 05 cruise :boat:
All: I am going to stay here on this thread for now, but I will be on the new thread on Friday, for the OFFICIAL COUNTDOWN :teeth:

You know, now that we're going on the 2006 cruise, we won't be going to Disney World next summer (unless I happen to inherit some money. lol), so I bet I'll be able to make it to that meet!! :)

I hope you all feel better real soon! Sending pixie dust your way.
If you get addresses for Stan and Doreen please let me know I would like to send them cards also.
I also wish we lived closer to Bobby and Cindy, my Bob is not handy around the house but I could help them clean-up atleast.

Mary Rose, My dear friend Mary Rose. Of course I would change the name of the thread for you. :D Don't you miss meeting at the Internet cafe and then joining us for breakfast AFTER you had already eaten breakfast. I must say you crack me up. LOL
Terry and Lyn...Both of you, along with your husbands were truly a pleasure to meet. Lyn, even after the cruise when we saw you at the Riverside, it was like we were friends and not internet friends. Glad you are cruising with us again in 2006.

I found you!
I came looking for this thread to post that STAN IS HOME from the hospital. I thought it was more appropriate for this thread than for the new 2006 thread. Then I read all your recent posts and am glad I came over here first.
I don't care what anyone says - this was a special group of people on this cruise and we should continue to celebrate together without censor.
So, Doreen is in the hospital? Matt is feeling better? Dori is designing t-shirts? Bobby & Cindy are in a pickle? Lyn is in? Cathy isn't? Terry is here but will countdown on the 2006 thread? Jill is sailing for Christmas? Where's Joanna? Did I miss anything?
DOREEN - I'm heading over to the other thread for more info but for now I am sending you hugs and prayers. I wish you had your laptop, too. Would they let you use it in the hospital? I'm hoping the next thing we hear is that you are home and well.
LYN - Please tell Matt that we are still thinking of him and lifting him up in prayer. He's just too cute to be feeling bad. I'm so glad you booked. I didn't make it to Quiet Cove but I'm looking forward to it this time.
DORI - I vote for t-shirts. I believe that you tried very hard to incorporate EVERYONE in a design. Let me know what you come up with. The Hurricane Frances design sounded good.
BOBBY & CINDY - Man, that really stinks. I'm so sorry that you are having trouble. Being positive is the best way to go. I'd love to help if I could. Be careful with your back and painting. That's how I messed mine up the last time. Hang in there.
CATHY - I'm sorry you won't be cruising with us. But Alaska sounds wonderful. Aren't you on the Aug Repo cruise? If so, I hope to see you there. I appreciate all your kind words.
TERRY - You go girl!
JILL - We will miss you. A Christmas cruise sounds awesome though.
JOANNA - Stan got your card and it really touched him that you thought to send it. Where are you? Hope everything is ok with you. Let me know.
Sorry to be so long but I missed alot. Stan is doing ok. Last night wasn't easy, his first night home. He couldn't get comfortable and we didn't get much sleep. I keep telling myself "baby steps", little bit at a time, healing takes place slowly. Of course he is up and down the stairs and moving around more than I think he should. And not taking the pain relievers like he should. Typical male. When he was in the hospital still groggy from surgery he was asking me if I filled my tank up with gas and charged my cell phone and went to the PO Box. Always taking care of things.
Well, thanks for letting me ramble. Goodnight all.

I am SO glad that Stan is home now! Wow, he's running all over the house already?!? You cracked me up when you said how he was still groggy and asking you if you filled your tank. He sounds like a wonderful husband and father, concerned about you even when still under anaesthesia!
I am going to hang out on this thread, until Friday. Then I'll go back over there and post the Official Weekly Countdown. If everyone decides to mainly chat over there, then I will post there too. If not, then we always have our first "home", here on this thread :)

I am so glad to hear that Stan is home and doing well. Now don't forget to take care of yourself as well as Stan.
Joanna:
If you had asked me at Riverside if I would be cruising with Disney again my answer would have been no. Not because of anything wrong with DCL it's just that both my kids are older now (24 & 17) so I thought we would try other cruiselines. But once I heard everyone was going again in 2006, well who could pass up a trip like that?

Good Morning Everyone!!!
Are we all going to have a magical day!!! I just got off the phone with Doreen. The neurologist came in last evening and has scheduled her for a MRI. He thinks this was caused by a migraine. She may be coming home today. Everyone hopes so. She says hello to everyone and Mary Rose you really made her day. She misses talking to all "her friends".
Darlene, Doreen asked about Stan and Lyn about Matt.
She is going thru DIS withdrawal and can't wait to get home and back on the boards.
Am I posting to the right board please direct me in the right location seeing that my "navigator" is unavailable to guide me!
Terry- I was glad to see your posting.

Jeff may have started the thread about the "good deal" on the 8/19 cruise but that had no part in my going on this cruise. As Ginny stated we were all talking about a reunion cruise before the rates even came out.
If I had a dollar for every time someone misunderstood a thread or posting I would be a very rich man.
Let me try to add some final clarity to this issue.
If you would kindly take a look at the Cruise Meets Board and scroll down the page through the different thread titles you will find that no other cruise thread is listed by anything other then the date or perhaps that it is over a holiday.
When the 08/19/06 thread was originally posted it was listed as the Lost @ Sea Cruise. To me that was pretty presumptuous of your group to call it after those who sailed on the 08/28/04 cruise?
I wasn't on the 08/28/04 cruise and neither were many of the other cruisers who booked 08/19/06 so it wasn't a reunion for them either. I could have easily started a thread the morning the 2006 rates came out stating it was the 8/21/04 reunion thread, but that would have been wrong also.
I am sorry you think I am being childish, but I have a tendency to take everyone into consideration. My post about the good price on 08/19 had nothing to do with why I thought you were being inconsiderate in regard to the other cruisers for 08/19/06
I am sure you are all a bunch a real nice folks, but you can't overlook the obvious.

Jeff... I apologize if you or anyone else going on the 8/19/06 cruise was offended by the title of the thread (which has now been changed). I can assure you that Mary Rose had no malicious intent of excluding anyone when she started the thread. We had such an amazing time on our prior cruise together that we started talking about an August 2006 reunion cruise as soon as we got back.
I almost cant believe that this issue has even gone as far as it has... Honestly guys... In the grand scheme of things this is kinda silly.... How about this - lets start fresh.. we have 2 years to get to know each other even better... we will all be pals by then..
How does that sound.

Hi Everyone - Can I ask a favor please. Will someone take over the 8/19/06 thread for me please. I love you guys and will read about you and correspond with you through PMs but I just can't participate here anymore :( I come here for fun and will not play in a place where anyone can call me presumptuous and overlooking the obvious. I have known self-important people like this my entire life and I'd just rather back out now before it gets ugly. Alas, no matter what is said, the 8/19/06 will be our "Lost At Sea Reunion". Doesn't matter who likes that and who doesn't. I think my mistake on the other thread was naming it "Calling all 8/19 cruisers..." I should have just called it the reunion cruise that it is. Okay, so I made a mistake, I'm sorry, so shoot me. but don't call me names - I don't like that.
Love you guys, see you on the PM

Hello Everyone..
Jeff..
When the 08/19/06 thread was originally posted it was listed as the Lost @ Sea Cruise. To me that was pretty presumptuous of your group to call it after those who sailed on the 08/28/04 cruise?
Actually you may be correct, but no one asked you to post on this thread..We started it for our reunion cruise...
All of us on the August 28th cruise really bonded and all decided to cruise togteher in 2006...
So if you and the other 2006 cruisers dont like our thread..then please dont post and start your own..Im sure you can get other people to join you..
As far as Mary Rose , you are not correct in calling her names....She is our friend, and we will stick together...
I really hope you have apologized to her about this issue...As for me I know im a big mouth, but I stick by my friends...
And yes...Our friends from our 2006 Lost @ Sea Cruise will remain friends for life...
If you want to be a part of it..great....If not...Well. then go.....I cant curse..

Bobby,
You are right, I have no business posting on this thread, but since so many here posted unkind things about me over the last couple of days I thought it was high-time that the record be set straight, so perhaps your group should be apologizing to me.

Refusing to let ANYTHING ruin the excitment of our 2006 reunion cruise, or interfere with our friendships, I am hereby replying with some positive comments:
I think the Fury Catamaran excursion for Cozumel is an EXCELLENT idea! DH and I watched our DSs as they boarded the Fury for their Teens-only excursion, and it looks like a fun watercraft :) I have read a lot of good reviews of it, over on the Cruise board. Hopefully we can book as a group so we can be on the same cat! :boat:
Dining times: On our last 2 cruises, we had late dining. I noticed on our reservations from All Seasons that we have early dining reserved. I know I can change it to late dining, so I'm not too concerned about that. Maybe we can get a list of everyone's dining times? I don't know whether John will have a preference or not, but so far he has enjoyed the later dining. I would LOVE to link dining reservations with as many of you as possible :)
T-shirts: Dori has graciously taken on the job of creating t-shirts for us. Personally, I would LOVE a shirt with a reference to our reunion on it, but whatever she decides is great! Can we have both cruise dates printed on shirts for those who want that, and then only the new cruise date printed on shirts for the others?? That might be a too much trouble to have different wording though, right? An idea I had...and I don't know how feasible it would be, but how about our names on the back of the shirt? Maybe just our first names and/or DIS screen names?? In small print, of course. lol Just an idea! :)
************************************************** **
I have to say, all day I was feeling very down about this whole thread situation. I don't want any of us to lose the excitment we were all feeling before this situation presented itself. I don't want any of the "new" people to feel excluded from joining in on conversation about the 2006 cruise, but at the same time, we have the right to talk about our 2004 cruise, too. I never should've replied to Jeff in the first place the way I did. He voiced his opinion. I didn't agree with it. And instead of trying to placate him, I should've just ignored what he said. (I don't mean ignore him as a person, just ignore what he said about that specific subject). But like Mary Rose...at this stage of my life, I find myself having little tolerance for those who.. Ok....I'm stopping here. Enough said from my end.
Thank you so much to all of my friends. I love you all, and can't wait to see you again! :)

Well said Terry! We are on late dinning and I would love to link our dining with all that wish too. All I have to do is figure out how to do that. We are booked with DU and some are booked with DCL and others are booked with other travel agents is there a way to make this happen.
As far as the tee shirts go I am voting for our group wearing the Reunion Tee's. I guess we have a lot of time to figure it out.

Hi Cindy!! :wave2:
Great to "see" you again! CONGRATS on the new job!! That does sound like fun, I love watching all the of the home decorating shows on tv :teeth:
Speaking of getting together: Mary Rose's family and our family are going to be meeting for breakfast in Sayreville, NJ on Sunday, October 24th. Are any of you close enough to want to join us?? :) The diner is right on Rt 9, central NJ, very easy to find!
As for AC, we will be in NJ right around the holidays because I bring the kids to NJ so they can spend their time off from school with their dad (I'm remarried, ex lives in NJ). I don't know if we can make it down on the weekend of the 18th, but once I know when we will be in NJ, maybe some of you would want to get together then? I hope whoever meets on the 18th has a great time! And don't forget to take pictures :)

Ah, you know!!! I could see this little storm brewing and was willing it away before anyone got hurt. Now I'm ticked because my friend Mary Rose feels bad. Mary Rose please keep posting, I would truly miss you if you stopped. You are one of the nicest people I know. If anyone had given you a chance, or all of us for that matter, they would have learned just how nice and caring you all are.
I am up for a AC in Dec. Stan will do his best to be there.
Cindy - I'm glad you love your new job. What are you doing? Sandy yells hi back! Will you have early seating for dinner? Want to link with us and Ginny and Mary Rose? How fun would that be!!
Anyway, no more raining on my parade, you hear. We are one big happy family and there is always room for more. If you want to be. If not, stop raining on my parade because this is about the only bright spot I have right now and I need it. I want to say "get a life" but that sounds harsh, which is out of character for me. So, maybe I'll just say "be nice".
WELCOME HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL DOREEN!

So, will you join us on the Fury Catamaran or if you can't because you baby's too small, then would you like to link dining reservations with all of us? How about a magnet from Bobby, or a Tee Shirt from Dori. When you look at the bigger picture maybe your group's karma could bring about another 10 day cruise. My wife and I watched the boards and the Weather channel during all the hurricanes and we were quite aware of your 7 day....uh....10 day cruise.
Since we didn't have to worry about Catherine (DD Catherine 11) going to school until 9/8 we were kind of hoping we could have been on your cruise. I mean if you can do that again were in!!
I am up for a Tee Shirt, one for each member of the family. Who do I write the check out to? ;)

Jeff - You know, with all the mishaps our cruisers suffered leading up to the cruise (8/28 curse), it's no wonder we hit a hurricane that kept us at sea for 10 days! That's why we figure we have a good shot of it happening again and we planned to go one week earlier! Lots of our kids missed the first few days of school and we really didn't want a repeat of that! I think your 8/21 cruise may have been the only cruise in Aug. that didn't suffer any hurricane trouble and a right about that? Did you see a friend Jweiss (Jennifer) from your 8/21 posted on the 8/19 thread? Also, in addition to the shirts (which Dori is looking into), Bobby makes the best magnets! I wasn't aware of the mishaps. Sorry to hear about that.
You are correct about the 8/21 cruise. We didn't realize how good we had it until many weeks later. The 8/14 cruise had big problems since the airport was closed and a lot of folks had to board the next day at Key West.
I don't think the average person (non-DISers) realize what it is like to plan two years in advance, count every day only to have you vacation ruined by a hurricane. We didn't have to go through that, but we really felt bad for the folks affected by Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne.

Joanna.. here is the story
Congregation honors a pilot it never knew
Crash: A Ferndale church pays tribute to a man killed as he maneuvered his plane away from its community's homes.
By Kelly Brewington
Sun Staff
Originally published October 4, 2004
The wreckage was shown repeatedly on television news programs the day Thomas F. Lennon's small cargo plane crashed into a driveway in Ferndale, narrowly missing homes and people setting out for their morning commute.
Amid the news accounts of the crash May 14, one comment on CNN weighed on the mind of the Rev. Susan Duchesneau, whose church is about a block from the crash site. "Thankfully, just one person was killed," she remembered hearing.
"They said it as if, 'Well, it could have been worse,' and just seemed to shrug off his death," she said yesterday at a memorial dedication to Lennon at her church, the United Methodist Church of Ferndale. "But that life was very important. You can't just shrug it off. This community owes a lot to him."
Yesterday, about 100 congregation members joined to honor a man they never knew, but one they believe maneuvered his plane to cause the least amount of harm. Lennon's family members from New Jersey sat in three reserved pews during the service and afterward dedicated two wooden benches in his name as a token of their thanks.
The benches, affixed with plaques that read in loving memory of Lennon, "a gentle giant," dubbed so for his imposing 6-foot-7-inch frame and mild manner, symbolize the connection between the congregation and the pilot.
"To tell you the truth, when Tommy died, the pastor was the only one who seemed to recognize his life," said Barbara Ward, Lennon's mother, who attended service at the church the Sunday after the crash, where prayers were said for her son. "To others, he was just this person."
Moved by the outpouring of support, Ward said she wanted to offer something in return.
"We knew we wanted a memorial somewhere, and we just knew this is the fitting place," Ward said.
After an hourlong service, parishioners filed into the garden for the dedication of the benches, taking time to shake hands with Lennon's widow, parents and siblings. Some even joined the family for lunch.
"One woman just came up to us to say, 'I didn't know him, but I'll never forget him,'" said Tom Ward, Lennon's stepfather. "That means a lot."
Duchesneau said the church is known for adopting others into its small community.
"This church is really like a great big family," she said. "We really believe if anything happens in our community, it happens to us."
On the day of the crash, Lennon, 34, was flying a twin-engine turboprop plane descending toward Baltimore-Washington International Airport, just a few miles from Ferndale.
After the plane crashed, onlookers immediately hailed Lennon as a hero, saying he deftly avoided a disaster by steering clear of homes and an elementary school.
The crash site was covered in wreckage from the Mitsubishi MU-2B plane operated by Epps Air Service Inc. of Atlanta.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
Lennon was making night flights carrying loads such as the canceled checks and financial documents he was delivering that morning from Philadelphia to the Baltimore branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Va.
It was not his dream job, but it kept him in the skies; flying was his passion. After graduating from college, Lennon served in the Navy and later began working for Epps in Lansing, Mich., training to become a pilot.
The youngest of four children and the only boy, Lennon was "spoiled rotten" by his siblings and parents, who helped support him through school, the siblings said.
"He was always the baby. During school he was working so hard, but he really had nothing," said his eldest sister Ginny Kurtz of Burlington, N.J. "So we'd always buy him jackets and coats for Christmas and stick a little money in the pockets."
One of Lennon's sisters, Barbara Marshall of Chatham, N.J., summed it up this way: "He always had, like, five mothers."
Once Lennon was licensed, he fulfilled his ambitions by becoming a pilot for U.S. Airways. But in the company's post-Sept. 11, 2001, layoffs, Lennon returned to work for Epps.
Although he didn't have children, he was the favorite uncle of his six nieces and nephews, said family members. Awed by his height, the kids would "climb" Uncle Tommy.
"He was a wonderful guy, every day of his life," Marshall said. "We know that the kind of person he is, he probably worked so hard not to hurt anyone."

Okay - Just to let you guys know, there are actually 2 t-shirts in the works. One for the new cruise and one for the Frances survivors. It looks like the cost per shirt is going to be around $7.50 ($10 for 2X & 3X sizes). I plan to get the design for the 2006 cruise shirts online sometime this weekend and will post it as soon as I'm able. I am still working on the design for the 'survivor' shirts. (I am using an actual satelite photo of hurricane Frances to create the pattern.) I hope to get this design finished over the weekend. Which means that I'll try to get it online next week sometime.
I have "called in the troops". My best friend since junior high is willing (and crazy enough) to help me in this endeavor. Besides, she already has most of the equipment we'll need. I only have to buy the screens and ink. (And we're gonna need LOTS of ink for this many shirts!)
Sorry Terry, but I'm not going to personalize the shirts for us. I'm having to create 11 seperate screens for the two designs as it is. (The 2006 shirt needs 6 and the survivor shirt needs 5. - Yes, I am using multiple colors of ink for each design.)
My biggest dilemma is how to get the shirts to everyone. I'm not sure whether I'm going to try shipping them out to you guys or hope that I have enough extra room in our luggage for 100 t-shirts! I guess that I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

You reminded me of the time when my wife (Missy) and I were at Guest Services the Wednesday of our cruise. We were leaving San Juan PR and heading for CC. Near the Guest Services desk was a satelite image of the caribbean and it showed another hurricane called Frances.
From looking at the image we really couldn't tell where it was in relation to ship (We have since spent a little time brushing up on our longitude and latitude coordinates).
Regardless we didn't think much of it at the time. Funny how things change.
Good luck with the shirts. Thanks for all the hard work.
BTW...I would have no problem paying for any shipping you wanted to charge considering the effort you are making.
I am in for 1 large (adult), 2 large (children) and a teeny weeny one for Sarah ;)

as wanting one of the "newbie' shirts.....
it would be so much work for you to ship them out,
but where in the world would you pack 100 shirts (there will
be more, you know!) - i wouldn't mind if you charge a shipping fee and make some profit, Dori - you are using your time.
are they going to be lime green? - Lucy

No, for the the 2006 shirts I was looking at light blue.
The pattern for the survivor shirts will be in black, white and greys, so I'll let everyone pick their own color. I will send out a list of available colors, when we get to that point.
Jeff - Don't forget to take 2 years of grown into consideration when deciding on the sizes needed for your girls!

Dori - Thanks so much for your effort! I also agree about the cost and the shipping, plus a little something for your time. It would be impossible for you to bring 100 shirts - that would probably weigh almost as much as the 100 lbs of booze ;) Seriously though - Thanks very much!

DORI - I will gladly pay for the t-shirts plus shipping. There is no way you should take up luggage space just for t-shirts. I can see you going through security now..."Well, Officer, no I am not smuggling contraband t-shirts, sir. They are for my DIS friends. We were in a hurricane and so we are celebrating. So glad to see you up and about. Welcome back!
Some AC info: We stayed at the Flagship and it is nowhere near the boardwalk or casinos. You need a car to get back and forth. And the last time we were there, the surrounding neighborhood was not so nice. Their pool, however, was nice.
The Showboat and Caesars are our favorite. Not sure if either one has a pool though.
Some of the better buffets are the French Quarter in Showboat (go for a late lunch and then you don't have to pay dinner prices). The Sultan's Feast in Taj Mahal also very nice. Our favorite is the one in Caesars. Reasonably priced, nice decor and good food. They also have a great breakfast buffet.
Try to get over to Absecon Lighthouse. It's very pretty and not far. Also, you could go to Margate to see Lucy the Margate Elephant. Here's a website that might help: http://www.atlanticcitynj.com/home.asp
Hope you have fun.

And I still like the Black Pearl Castaways. I think it would look really cool with Dori's graphic of Hurricane Frances. She said it was black and grey, I think. And a string of pearls would be a nice accent piece. Shopping anyone?

HELP PLEASE!!
Can anyone who has gotten their 10% discounts for the 8/28 cruise please help me. I am getting a terrible run around from DCL. First they told me to write a letter. I wrote two. Then I emailed. Then I called twice. Both times I was told that yes, they were aware of the offer, but it would take time.
Yesterday in the mail I receive this ridiculous letter from a DCL rep telling me, in great detail, why I cannot receive "reimbursement" for my expenses (because I didn't buy my travel insurance through them). I wasn't asking for reimbursement! So in great frustration I called today and now the supervisor I spoke with (Kim) is saying they never made that offer and it does not exist!
I'm just trying to get a concensus of how many actually received it already. Also, any comments you were told by DCL or your travel agent about getting it and why.
Thanks so much. I fear this is a losing battle. How frustrating to have some people get the discount and others be denied!

I'm not sure what discount you are refering to. Do you mean the 10% and $200 onboard credit for re-booking onboard? Or in our case booking shortly after the cruise because the re-booking desk was closed towards the end of the cruise?

At first our Travel Agent (All Seasons) was told that we could not get the 10% discount/$200 credit because that's only good for booking while ON the cruise. But eventually she was able to get the discount for me, after I gave her Ginny's name, DCL was able to look at their reservation and see that they had been given the discount too. I can't believe that after your letters and phone calls that they are giving you such a run around:mad:

I also got the 10% and $200 stateboard credit, but with a little bit of a hassle. They kept telling me to wait for a 25% off voucher in the mail and then finally I said "there is no 25%, but there IS a 10% and $200 credit offer", that wasn't offered on the cruise because Donna was busy doing other things. Then she spoke with her supervisor and I got it.
Tell them you want your 10% off and $200 credit because you weren't able to book on board.
Wait for the morning, I always rather deal with day people.

Thanks for saying hi. I wish I could go with you guys in 2006. But, I'm going to have to save up for the Xmas NYE cruise. My DGD & Her girlfriend don't want to miss any school. & asked if we could go then. I couldn't say no. We are also going to stay at SOG for NYE & watch the fireworks.
We are going to the NE Dis Meet in Allentown. Maybe we can meet again.

What a great thing to wake up this morning (At the NJ shore, no less!) and see a message in my email that there was a new post to this thread!! :)
It's been a year since the start of our wonderful 10-night cruise, and I remember it like it was a week ago! :)
That was the start to so many great friendships, and the best cruise we have ever been on! :boat:
I hope all of you are doing well, and I also think of "our" cruise all the time! :sunny:

I was just talking about you to my daughter the other day.
NOt the one that went on the cruise. My other DD, the one that is going on the next cruise in Dec.
Sea Spray has talked to her & said hi. HI Sea Spray.
Everyone is excited about this cruise. It is a nice group like ours was. We are at 132 pages with1900 posts. Maybe we will catch up to this one.
We are talking about dis meets & excursions together.
It's hard to believe it's been a year already.
I hope everyone will be as great as you guys are.
Jill
Happy Anniversary everyone:
I was just thinking about this cruise yesterday and saying that it was a year ago but it seems like yesterday.
I am going to miss you all so much on your upcoming August 06 cruise. I will be in Disney 8/17 - 8/20 if anyone is staying there before your cruise I would love to meet up with you.
We are cruising on Carnival and it leaves on 8/20 so we decided to go to WDW for a couple of days before the cruise.
Let's keep this thread alive as long as we can.

I too was thinking that just last year we we setting sail on our adventure. It was so nice to see this thread again. While we have no cruise planned in our future at all (we did do DisneyLand, California this year) and have 3 trips to Disneyworld planned on paper for 2006, maybe 2007 will be our year to think about getting on the high seas again.
Those of you sailing again in 2006, I hope you have a wonderful time and a smooth sailing.

Hi everybody ---
I was getting ready to post on our thread for this yr's cruise and saw that the thread from last year was up at the top of the page... I hope everybody has been having a great year!! We're leaving on Wednesday for Orlando and then boarding the Magic on Saturday...for the E Caribbean route. Hopefully we will be hurricane-free this year and New Orleans will get spared Katrina.
