Thanks. Interesting reading. We always do traveler's checks. This supplies motivation for protecting your checks. We lost our Visa (cash card) at Kringla Bakery one year and had to cancel our bank card. Thankfully, we also had our traveler's checks with us. That really made us determined not to rely too heavily on one method of paying for things.

That traveler was very naive to leave personal belongings unattended. Even though we are very careful I will be even more careful now.

I agree with you beccab, but isn't it a shame that we can't even trust that our belongings will not be lifted from a private country club. It could have been either an employee or a member.
