My Dh, Ds 10, Dd 5, and I will be making our first trip to disney Aug 2 -9. Our flight gets in around 11:30am we are staying at the ASM. I was thinking of heading to MGM for the first afternoon/night, as I wanted to save MK for the first full day. I was trying to decide which ps to make for the first night Sci-fi or 50's, any input would be appreciated. Thanks. By the way I plan to do the Fantasmic dinner package later in the week.

If you want just to grab a bite... go with Sci Fi. They have great burgers!!! If you want a full dinner... definitely go with 50's Prime Time.

I haven't tried 50's Prime Time yet (have PS for lunch in Sept) but going by the ages of your kids, they would enjoy the Sci-Fi. Kids meals last time we were there were served in a glow in the dark frisbee that they get to keep. Plus the movies onscreen help keep the little ones entertained.

We were just there 2 weeks ago and did both. Had lunch at Sci-Fi and dinner at 50's. We also have kids about the same age and I would recommend Sci-Fi over 50's. They really enjoy watch the old movie clips and sitting in the cars was a big hit. You can't go wrong with this choice.
Have a great time.

Thanks for the responses. How are the portion sizes at the sci-fi? Are the kids meals big enough for my 10 year old? thanks again.

I think the kid's meal would be big enough for a 10 yr. old. My DS had a grilled cheese and fries that was enormous.
I have eaten at and enjoyed both restaurants, but the DS's preferred the Sci-Fi.

My son also had the grilled cheese and it was plenty.
