We are going down in August for Labor Day and I gave up my Ent Card last year after our 4th July trip to someone here on the boards. Just wondering if someone is tossing there's after the summer I could use it. So if anyone is done with there's pm me if you'd like to share with me.

Gee, I never thought about it before, but I have an extra card. I had to get a second one when i thought i lost the first one. Of course, I found the one I lost in a drawer after my trip to universal. LOL. If someone would like to use it for ent rate, just let me know, and I will send it to them.

I'm confused. I didn't realize that the card could be used by anyone.
I've just started thinking about a Universal/IOA vacation and want to stay at a Universal hotel.
I'm used to getting good deals at Disney resorts but I feel lost trying to plan this vacation.
It seems like the Entertainment book is the best way to get a good deal and I've been thinking about purchasing the book.
If I can use someone else's card, that would be great!
I'd appreciate any information!

Make sure you call and get availability for your dates using the Entertainment Card rate. If it isnt available the card will do you no good. If it is available book it they go quick! Then you can work on getting a card sent to you or just get one for $10 online. Also the cards that are available now are good until Nov. 1st after that you need next years book and card.

Just a note about the Entertainment Card. It only costs $10 and it comes with a great discount coupon book. I just used a coupon yesterday to get 10% off a CD at Best Buy. They have tons of coupons for McDonalds, Burger King, dry cleaning, bowling, mini golf, hotels ...... There is even a coupon for Universal gift shops (something like $7...- I don't have my book with me so I forget the details.)

It may be worth your while to have your own book/coupon. I have already saved about $40 without even counting the HRH and I just got my book a few weeks ago.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the group. What's the entertainment card? I sent a message to tinkerbarb, asking for a fan club card. How is that different? We're going to Universal July 17th and would like any discounts that we can get. We'll be staying at the RPR in a standard waterview room. I didn't specify an upper floor, but I guess that I should do that. I was looking at some of the rates posted out here, and I don't think that I've got the best deal. I'm doing further research and would appreciate any tips.

Its a book that is area specific. You can use the card that is attatched inside for different discounts. One being an Entertainment rate at the on-site Universal properties. Call 1 800 BE A STAR to see if this rate is available for your dates. It does not matter what book you buy the card is the same in all. You do not need the card to check availability or to make a reservation. Just need it at check in. What rate did you get?

If you need an entertainment card and have aol. Go to keyword TA. It will take you to the travelers advantage page. Just try the free trial period of 14 weeks then cancel. The travelers advantage card bears the entertainment symbol on the back and allows you the same card benifits as the regular entertainment card. Often just for doing the free trial you will wind up with a free hotel stay at selected hotels or the latest was a free cd player. The card should you wish to keep it is 79.99 billed at the end of the 14 week trial. This card is good for one full year.

I bought my Entertainment book because I had to more or less, school fundraising thing. I didn't think I would ever use it, but have ended up loving it. If they have one for your area, the $15 price ($10 plus shipping) is well worth it. The buy 1 get one free dinners have gotten us out to try some new restaurants while getting a great deal, and the coupons for the fast food have saved us the money we spent on the book several times over. I keep mine in the car and if we are looking for a place we flip through it and see if we have a coupon. I just used a half price coupon for the childrens musuem to fill up a rainy day. I also use it to get PBH for $150 a night which was much better than the fan club rate. This year when the school sells them I will happily buy one!!

Does anyone have a card I can borrow. We leave July 23 and return on August 1. If I buy one it will only save me $9. Since there is no book for my hometown area, there are no coupons I can use, so not sure if it will benefit me. I've booked my National rental car for our next trip with such a great rate, if I try to add a coupon I will lose the rate. Just need one to get the entertainment rate at the Portofino resort I have reserved for one night. I could get the FAN rate at $179 or the Ent. rate of $155. I presently have the ent. rate, so am writing all of my friends trying to find a card to use in four weeks.
