I saw something go by about report cards and free drink cups-does anyone know how we go about doing this?
Also we have the ent rate of $160(Deluxe-fam of 5), when you upgrade to Club level-it sounds like you get free snacks, breakfast, munchies-about how much would this cost? Thanks for the posts-I have learned so much and SAVED so MUCH!!!! :Pinkbounc

I cannot answer your question about Club Level but I did get an email from HRH saying they would be doing the Grade A Kids Promotion again. They said the following:
Yes, we are offering the Grade A Kids program this year. It begins the last week in May. Students who present a 2003 report card at check-in with at least one "A" on it will receive a Loews Loves Kids refillable mug. This entitles them to free beverages at hotel restaurants and a free dessert with every purchase of lunch or dinner. We look forward to hosting
you at Orlando's coolest, the Hard Rock Hotel!

Thanks for the info MDCU2003, my kids will be thrilled to hear about this! They took advantage of this promotion once before and thought it was great:)

Do you know if there are age limits? Between my sister and me, we have a 7y/o, 10y/o and 15 y/o. I figure the 7 & 10 y/o won't have a problem. Not sure about the 15y/o.
Thanks!:D

When it last ran it was kids up to 17 years old. I cant imagine they would leave your 15 year old out:)

Thanks JessicaR!
I hope the age limit still goes to 17. I wouldn't want my niece left out!:D

My son's school doesn't give "A"'s but they do give "O"'s for Outstanding...I assume this would be OK?

I just called RPH about this. It goes up to 12th grade, and anything that's equivalent to an A, such as O for outstanding, E for excellent, and 90 or above, etc, would count.

Thanks for clearing up the equivalents! My daughter's report card has S+ (satisfactory) which is the same as an A (it even shows the chart on top because the different grades have different marks). She is almost 7 and will be thrilled to get the mug and desert. Thanks for posting this!

Just wondering where can you use these mugs/drink cups? Is there a certain place to use them, like by the pool or is it just for sit-down dinner spots? Thanks in advance for any extra info you all have! :)

Jeffemy - My sister and her family are at RPR right now and my nephew called me after they checked in to tell me about his reward for having A's on his report card. My sister said that when she first mentioned it, the person checking them in didn't know anything about it. But she went to ask someone else and came back with a certificate and a mug. So if you get someone at check-in who isn't familiar with the program, ask them to check with someone else.

We were at HRH two weeks ago. The person at check-in immediately produced a stash of stuff for my son when I handed her a copy of his report card. It included the refillable mug, a visor, sunglasses, pen, bookmark, koosh ball and a couple of other things which I have already forgotten! She also made a "big deal" about his straight A's.
We only tried to refill the mug at the ice cream place at the entrance to Sunset Grill (again, my mind is gone re: the name). The first time the person behind the counter had no idea what we were talking about, and tried to send us away. It was awkward to say the least, as I felt like she thought we were trying to scam her in some way. It was "Free refills? I don't think so..." As they had told us at check-in that the cup would be refilled at ANY counter with soft drinks I was assertive and she went in search of an answer. After a bit of a wait she came back and refilled it. The second time, later that night, my son produced his mug and yet another employee looked at him blankly. (The mug says "Loew's Loves Kids" on it, BTW.) I told her that he wanted a refill of whatever (coke?). She then asked someone else about it, then filled it, THEN produced a charge slip for a drink! I went through the spiel about the A report card and free refills but she didn't seem to get what I was saying. Finally another employee came over and told her that it was okay to refill without a charge.
After that we sort of gave up. I was not going to send my young son alone to deal with the confused situation and the couple of times we passed later there was quite a long line. I still thought it worthwhile, as it is a nice travel mug and the other stuff was cool, as well as the check-in staff praising him so much for good grades. (There may be somewhere else that readily refills it and we just hit the one place that wasn't clued in.)

We checked into HRH yesterday. I asked about the kids report card deal and she said it seemed to be "on again, off again", she made a phone call and said it is currently, "On". The kids got refillable mugs....Koosh balls....pens.....bookmarks.....

We were at HRH last week. When I checked in and showed the report card, the lady at checkin knew all about it and there were no problems. When we ate poolside at the Beach Club, they refilled the drink but wouldn't do the dessert. I asked at the front desk and they said the free dessert is only at the Sunset Grill. So we did eat at the Sunset Grill once and the waiter didn't have a clue but did go ask his manager and they offered my son anything on their dessert menu. He chose cheesecake. They wrote "Grade A Kids Rock" in chocolate around the rim of the plate. Really cute! So it appears to be a hit/miss thing on who is up to date on the info. Perhaps as the summer goes on, more staff will become aware of it. The email I received from HRH said they had just restarted it May 31 and we were there June 3-7.

Oh, that is so disappointing! That's where I'm staying. It seems odd that the HRH would offer it and not this one! Boo hoo!

The Loew's A program is good at Portofino also. Its just been implemented again so many at check-in arent aware of it yet. Just ask to speak to someone who can check it for you.:)

Is this program offered at HRH, if so can the child just go order a soda or ice cream at poolside and not buy anything else.

They can get the drinks anywhere at the HRH from what I saw. The dessert seemed to only be available at the Sunset Grill (not the Beach Club) and only with an adult meal purchase.

Where do you fill the mugs at the Portofino? Are these unlimited free refills or how does it work?
