HRH Turn Down Service

I can't seem to do a search on this board so I'll ask a silly question that has probably been answered a lot already. What is provided when you request turn down service? How do you compensate the staff?

I always love coming back to our room after turn down service. portofino does it the best (just my opinion). You can expect fresh towels, the bed turned down, music playing and a chocolate or treat on your pillow. Its very welcoming after a long day at the parks! Enjoy:)

We usually leave a tip on the bed a couple $'s.

What time is this service normally done? I was planning on leaving a tip for the maid daily but didn't know if they do the turn down service or if it is a different set of people. Forgive me if I'm being totally dense.

We have had turndown service as early as 5P and sometimes as late as 8P. I guess it all depends. It is separate from daily housekeeping and we had different people for both so I tipped separately. In the morning we usually leave $5 (there are 4 of us) and in the evening $2.

cpl...It depends of the room category you have booked and the hotel as to if you will have to request it or not. You can request it at the desk or just call when you get to your room. Portofino deluxe rooms and above provide it automatically.

And now, does anyone have an idea why I didn't get any emails from the Disboards today stating that posts had been made back to me? I have found some of them, but I am sure I am missing some also. .....odd

This will be our first time in a regular room at the Hard Rock. Turn down was automatic on the club floor. Do you need to request turndown service in a regular room? Thanks in advance.

I wasn't getting my emails yesterday either, but they seem to be coming so far today. Not sure what was wrong!! :confused:
