I went to the walt whitman mall, in New York today and guess what? The disney store was gone. I haven't been to this mall in a while but I was shocked not to find the store. Is your disney store still around? What happened?

A lot of Disney stores nationwide have or will be closing. Just not profitable enough.

Ours (central NJ) is still open, but they have sales all the time! That's great for us, as long as they are still around :(

The Disney Store in Savannah, GA closed down the beginning of May. I was shocked after I drove an hour to visit the store and found it gone. Now I have to go to Jacksonville, FL to get my Disney fix!!

They are downsizing the Disney Store in one of the malls near my home. It is closed right now but should re-open in the next couple of months.

My Disney Store can't close....my kids wouldn't have anything to wear since about 50% of their clothes come from TDS (or catalog)!!! I would be heartbroken....the trips to the mall just wouldn't be the same!
I have learned one thing about TDS though...never pay full price for anything (the same goes for Gymboree) because next week it will be ON SALE!!!

wow I must be lucky I have 2 Disney Stores within 10 minutes of me and a charcter premier (Disney outlet) about 30 minutes away, and they are all usually packed with people (tourists), Maybe it's because they are located in FL who knows, I was shocked to hear they were closing stores in other states. If I din't have THe Disney World Store ( as my 3 year old calls it) we would go crazy. It gives us our Disney fix until our next trip:cool:

Hi! We Long Islanders must be lucky. I have at least 5 disney stores withing 20 minutes of my home. Sorry to hear about the closing in Walt Whitman however, that mall has no tax on clothes unlike the other ones here in Nassau. Well take care and good luck finding those bargins. Tammy

We've only got 1 Disney Store here and I sure hope it doesn't close. I would be very sad if it did. :( Anyone know how we can find out which stores are closing??

Mhopset,
The Hilton Head Outlet store was still there a couple of weeks ago. I was there May 10th and picked up a few good buys. When did the Myrtle Beach catalog outlet close?

The Disney Store in Taylor, MI is alive and well too, I hope! I haven't been there in a while, but last time I was there they didn't look like they were closing shop. That was just after Easter. Though I did notice they had downsized and weren't carrying as many adult clothing things, just jammy-type stuff.

We4mickey - No, we are down to 4 now! The Northridge store is either closed or closing very soon, not sure of the date! But, the Mayfair store is going to move directly upstairs from where it is and will be a new type of store. The grand reopening date is around August 15. The whole mall is being remodeled and looks great so far!
