My soon to be 3-year old is mesmerized by Buzz Lightyear--in fact, he often pushes the laser button on his arm when he's mad at mom or dad-- and I'm sure he will be in awe if and when he gets a chance to see him at WDW this August.

I understand he can only be found at MGM. Where exactly will we find him and how tough will it be to get a photo op with Buzz?

Thanks.

That is just too funny! Be forwarned, Buzz in costume is a little overwhelming and Woody is even bigger. I saw some little ones scared to death of them.

We've only seen him at MGM, but who knows. We hooked up with him on that "fake" New York Street, but that was a couple of years ago. Didn't see him on our last visit.

Here's a picture of my little man with the big guys. Enjoy!

Olaf--

Thanks for the tip...yes, I see that Buzz and Woody really are larger than life! Great photo!

Hope I get lucky enough to find them. If anyone has more clues, please share.

Thanks.

In the back of the park, near the Hunchback of Notre Dame show is where we usually find him. We always go in the off season when crowds are light, but there always seems to be a line for these guys. We've had the best luck with getting there at rope drop and making a bee-line for that area. They come out within a few minutes and the line has barely begun so they'll spend some extra time with you. They also have a professional photographer there like they do for the mouse, so it's a great opportunity for a family photo!

Just an idea, but if your son "shoots" at Buzz, I'll bet that Buzz will join right in!!!! The characters are fantastic with their interaction considering they can't talk.

Good Luck and have a great trip!

My son is almost 3 and sounds just like yours. My neighbor gave him a Buzz bean bag toy befire the flight and he carried around every park. When he saw the real Buzz he went crazy hugging him and jumping up and down. He totally ignored Woody so I have him a hug. It was so cute. About 1-2 minutes after that he fell alseep (dead) in his stroller. He was just waiting to see him. The are there in the morning till 1:30 and then comes back about 2:30-5:00 or so. They do go in every 20 minutes for a break from the heat. It is well worth the line to see there face. We waited about 25 minutes to see them.

Al's Toy Barn, they have certain times they are seen, just ask a CM. Waited less than 10 minutes in line this past March. Disney will also take a picture, which you can pick up at the front of the park for around $12. Only picture I bought. It is framed on my son's dresser. He loves it. Janis

Pizza Planet!

My 5 yo son loves Buzz -- our whole family liked Pizza Planet. It has a Chuckee Cheese Pizza kind of atmosphere but they can play the "Claw" game and try to get Little Green Men as well as other arcade games. Good way to beat the heat during mid-day and give the kids a little breather before hitting the next show/ride.

Oh my word...they are HUGE! Why? They are supposed to be toys...the human-shape of the characters would easily lend themselves to a more human-size costume. Geez, they scare ME!

I'm just kind of commenting. I appreciate the warning, though. I'd hate to come around a corner and run into Buzz without expecting to! (shiver)

We went to MGM two days at Easter time. Both days the only thing my ds (4) and dd (2) wanted to do was see Buzz!! My ds also does the arm laser to mom and dad when he is angry at us!! It is a amusing now that I think about it, but not while he is doing it!! Both days we found Buzz and Woody at Al's toy barn. The lines were not too bad. Both times the characters left while we waited. Less than five minutes later "new" Buzz and Woody's were back though. It must be unbearable in their costumes, in the heat. They are large, but the pictures are priceless with them. My dd was too scared to get near them, but my ds was just as happy as ever to meet them!! Any CM in the park will be able to tell you where they are that day and at what time!! HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!
