AP Question - Multiple Families

A quick AP question -- we are going in Dec, 2 families w/ kids, 1 set of grandparents -- 3 rooms in all. I thought I had seen that 1 AP could book up to 3 rooms. Does it matter whether the reservations are all under the same name --- the name of the person holding the AP, presumably -- or not? Could 1 person holding an AP ask to apply their code to somebody else's reservation? I'm thinking probably not, but wanted to know if somebody has come across this. Thanks as always!

AP holders can reserve three rooms, but I think all the rooms must be in the AP holders name.

An AP holder can book up to 3 rooms with an AP discount, but those rooms must be in an AP holders name.

I am going to have to do this too, and I have a silly question...Do all three rooms have to be at the same resort? This is going to sound stupid, but, here goes...we're going for a family reunion with about 50 people. (I'm braver than I thought!) In one room at the WL will be me, DD3, DH, and my sister. We will all have PAP's. I know that not all of us can book rooms at the WL since we will all be in one room, whoever that room is booked under will have to do the other 2 at WL. My question is this, my DH's family will probably be staying at one of the All Star resorts...could one of us book them an AP rate over there, or do we have to be staying there as well to do that? Has anyone tried this before?:confused:

The AP holder has to be there when the other party checks in, but they don't have to be staying with them.

Yes, we've done this twice. Actually we weren't there when they checked in and there was no problem. The only *problem* has been that since then I've gotten 2 postcards for room discounts at my address, but they've both been in my friend's name! LOL

I would like to make one recommendation here. If you do reserve three rooms for three different families, it will be best to make THREE reservations rather than one reservation with three rooms. You can still ask CRO or WDTC to place comments that you would like the rooms to be "close to each other", or "adjoining" or "connecting" (whatever you need for your group). But by having three reservations, each room can have its own credit card or cash status. This allows individual folios for charges without intermingling three families purchases and meals. With one reservation with three rooms on it, there is only one folio and only one method of payment.
