Your "must do" dining at Epcot ???

Would love some input on your "must do" dining when you are at Epcot. My family and I will be spending the day at Epcot and did not want to park hop that day. There are just so many options that Im boggled ! We have done the Garden Grill but thought maybe we would try something different this trip. Traveling with a 60 year old, 16 year old and 12 year old. As always my thanks !

While Garden Grille remains one of our favorites, here are some suggestions.

Breakfast at Akershus in Norway is a princess character meal. It is very good.

We enjoy Biergarten for lunch. Keep in mind that you will be sharing your table with other partys.

Rose and Crowne is great to schedule for around 8pm. Illuminations is scheudled for 9pm and is quite a show from your table.

We also love San Angel Inn in Mexico and Le Cellier in Canada

My must do's at Epcot are San Angel in Mexico and Le Cellier in Canada. We used to do lunch at both places but have now moved on to dinners instead. San Angel for lunch is wonderful because it's cool and dark after a hot morning. We're going in September and we're going to try Marrakesh for lunch. Another enjoyable lunch option is getting take out in Japan and sitting at the tables in the garden overlooking the koi pond.

It would have to be San Angel in Mexico for lunch and Le Cellier in Canada for lunch. If we are going for a second day Garden Grill would be lunch and Akershus in Norway for dinner.

Rose and Crown has become one of our most recent must-do's at Epcot. We also like Le Cellier. I'm afraid that if we try Chefs de France, that would become a must do.

We also like Marrakesh in Morocco if you're a little bit adventuresome.

jiggerj, you don't say where you are from. As someone from Texas, where we are treated to great Mexican food all the time, I am not enamored of the San Angel. On my first trip to WDW in 1986 on a senior high school class trip, the only restaurant we could get into was the Marakesh in Morocco. I'm a picky eater and was a little afraid, but it was fantastic! And we had a belly dancer to boot! Since then, I've been to Epcot about a half dozen times and we always eat in Morocco. Great atmosphere, great food, and usually pretty easy to get PS. I would avoid China--way too expensive for mediocre food and service, IMHO.

I know I'm in the minority for thinking this way, but I enjoy stopping at the interesting counter service spots to sample lots of different cuisine from around the World Showcase.

We've dined in some of the sit-down places, and although the meals were nice, they are really costly. I think the resort restaurants are much better (IMO).

Try the Tangerie Cafe in Morocco, or Yakatori House in Japan. Also the pastery shop in France! Yum!

Le Cellier is my favorite at EPCOT. You may also want to try the CapeMay Clambake or Beaches and Cream (late lunch or early dinner to avoid the crowds) as they are a short walk from the International Gateway.

Agree with Harambe....we eat and drink our way around the world trying different things in different countries. I'd rather spend time watching performers, parades, etc. as opposed to sitting and eating.

Eggrolls in China
Tostada in Mexico
Shrimp Tempura in Japan (in the lounge)
Pate' (Chefs)
Bear Claws in Canada
Scotch Eggs (Rose and Crown)
I could go on and on! You name it, we've tried it!

When we do do a sit down, we have favored a late, late lunch at Chefs de France or Rose and Crown (weather determines where) for the views. The lounge in Japan also has a great view with great appetizers (tempura and sushi). Other than the restaurant in China, we've never really had a horrible meal at any restaurant in the World Showcase. We haven't eaten in Future World in a long, long time. So much World Showcase, so little time!

Le Cellier for Dinner

Before Illuminations we get "lefse" from the Norway counter for enjoying on our balcony at the resort YUM YUM!!!!!!!

Akershus is nice for dinner, but I'm not much of a fish eater. Although they had selections for me, it was allot of fish. Good though. The Rice Cream for dessert it awesome!!!

Thank you all for your great responses ! I appreciate the time you took to help me in our decision. I think Rose and Crown as I will be viewing Illuminations with my Mom and hopefully she will have a nice sit down viewing AND a great meal ! Thanks again ! (Although Le Cellier sounds good too !)
