09/23 - 09/30 here too, but at the Polynesian (unless I change my mind again). It'll be dh's first trip ever and my first trip in many years. We're celebrating our 5th anniversary, a bit belated (can't make it in August). First lengthy vacation with no kids as well.....hopefully I won't feel to guilty for leaving them.

:bounce: Sept. 17-27, this started out as a 6 night trip, isn't it amazing how you can justify a trip with AP's and then a tax return can cover an extra few days......if we don't have takeout for 6 months..........if dh would let me cut his hair I could save.....
I am going to cover myself in lime green duct tape, ribbons whatever. I have yet to meet a fellow diser!

Hey Everyone!
I just booked FTP last week:
Sept. 27 - Oct 4th
Poly LV Conceirge
2 Adults/2 Kids
I can't wait! My original plan was the last week in August. I really didn't want to pull the kids out of school. But after a long talk with DH he says with this being the kids' first time, the $ we are spending and being there only 7 nights (in the past prior to kids we stayed at least 10 nights)...he felt it would be much better this time of year. So I bit the bullet and did it....and the more I think of it I totally agree.
Anybody else been there this time? Any advice with crowds?
Thanks a bunch!

Hi,
Last year we went Sept 21-28 and it was great. We also debated as to whether to pull the kids out of school. We chose correctly. There were no lines. The kids actually started to complain that their legs hurt from walking the waiting line. Then I explained we normally would be waiting in the line and they were happy to walk it.:D You won't regret it.

I feel better with this decision. We will be able to get way more done this time of year. My original plan was the end of August through Labor Day weekend. After reading some posts....that Labor Day weekend gets very crowded there.
Has anyone have any experience with the Halloween show at Disney? Our last night there Oct. 3 will be the first night. The park will close at 6 and reopen for the special Halloween night til midnight. I am just wondering is it worth the money? Especially being our last night at the resort? I have the FTP passes and to have to pay over $100 for those hours...I just don't know what to do...
Any advice would be highly appreciated!

My DH & I will be at the BWV (1 bedroom) Sept. 21-28 on the FTP. It will be our first time at BWV-very excited. My one concern...Is the pool area very big? We stayed at the BC in 2001 and the BCV in 2002. While there were always many people there, we were always able to find a spot that was somewhat secluded and quiet in the late afternoon (I'm thinking of the lazy river part). I know that SAB is unlike most resort pools and that the BW pool will likely not compare. In looking at the pictures, the BW pool looked somewhat small. Is it just the pictures? Is it always crowded? Will we find that sort of fun/quiet spot? (Thanks for the help!)
We will also be staying at Universal at the PBH Sept. 19-21. We stayed there last year and absolutely loved it! We are going to be so tired when we finally get back to work.:D

Hi,
My DH and I will be at WL 9/7 thru 9/10. We're refugees from POFQ and got the $10/ night upgrade. After WDW, we're staying at the RPR in Universal for three days. I've got all my dinner PSeatings made and a ressie for Tchoup chop. The last time we were in WDW was 9/98 and thought it was a great time to visit and avoid crowds of students, families, kids, strollers, etc. (Now, I love kids, I've got two, but September 10th is our wedding anniversary and it is our time to travel ). But there we were, in the shuttle from the airport with a family with two children. They took their kids out of school only a week after they had gone back to school from summer vacation, because they thought like us that it wouldn't be so crowded. Boy, were we wrong! There were still lots of families with kids (there must have been a dip in school attendance clear across the country that week). Anyway, we can hardly wait. :)

Butterfly, still bunches of kids in the off times. Got to watch out for those cattleguards, aka strollers, folks push! We go then because our elementary schools are on year round schedule. So she gets 3 week breaks several times during the year. It's been great! I know schools in England/UK are year round too so we've always noticed lots of familys with British accents.
Enjoy your trip to the WL and happy upcoming anniversary!

We'll (DH and I) will be at the Beach Club 9/15-9/22. We LOVE to go in September, hope the crowds aren't too bad this time. Had originally planned 4 or 5 days, now thanks to the FT Package we'll be there for 7!
The last time we were there, we arrived the day before 9/11/01 :( . Immediately after, the tropical storm moved in. So we're hoping to make it up this time.
Hope to see some fellow DISers there!

Do you know about the lime green ribbon? I don't know too much, but I guess people on these boards wear a lime green ribbon (or something) when at WDW to identify themselves as part of the DIS boards.
There are also cast members who frequent these boards who might be able to identify you by a lime green ribbon. You never know...
I'm going to give it a try in September, when we are at WL...

I will be there Sept 24-Oct 3. With me will be my 80 year old mother. She says she is game for all the rides. Got Mikey head paint samples alien green for me and some orange color for her since she hates green and doesn't really understand the lime green thing.

ROFL! That "older" girl is my wife Renee!! Can't wait to show her this thread. She will get a kick out of it. :P
We can't wait to get there either. TIme keeps ticking away but not fast enough sometimes. :bounce:
We never really buy the pics they take of us entering parks or whatever but when we saw this one I had to. It is a really good picture of us with a great backdrop.
Looking at our two posts, it is funny to see how close our countdown clocks are. Where are you guys flying from if you don't mind me asking.

We are flying from Pittsburgh. I actually think they are even closer than it looks. When I was making the countdown I couldn't remember exactly what time our flight left so I estimated. We leave at 9:10 in the morning.
I really do hope to see you and your family there as I have really enjoyed chatting with you....and of course now I will need to apologize to your DW!

My wife and I are looking forward to having company while down there. It should be lots of fun!!! Heck, we may even end up checking in at the same time. Hahaha.
Uggg....84 more days.....

By the way, Fred and Renee, my DH and I will be there the same days as you...Sept 12 - 21. Although, unlike about 90% of the people on this thread are at the WL, we are staying at the CR. Since I won't see you at my resort, I'll keep an eye out at the parks for a man with two children very far apart in age. ;)
And I agree with you Fred...that is a GREAT picture of your family. It's always the pics you don't anticipate that become a favorite.

Well, at least we are next door as far as hotels are concerned. Just a boat ride away! Maybe we should start a new thread...."Who's staying from September 12th to the 21st?".
Hahah...I am getting a great kick out of this. This place helps us pass the time away before the very special day!
Our little one will be celebrating her 3rd birthday on the 13th so we are planning a fun filled (and exhausting) day for her.
Our plan for our stay is to do one day in the parks and one day "off" or in the hotel pool or something. This way we get some time to relax. I highly recommend you try to schedule at least two "pool" days. They really do work! :)

Lazy rivers are part of the water park plans. I will pretty much guarantee that by the time my first-timer DH gets to a water park, that's all he'll want to do. *sigh* He's not the spring chicken that I am.
We are going to Chef Mickey's the evening before. Someone on this DISboard suggested it was a great way to introduce DH to WDW. I've never been there, so it will be a first for both of us.

Hi! We will be at POR the 20-27th FTP Silver.
This trip is a graduation present for my (twin) stepsons.
Their mother had always "forbid" their father taking them to WDW ("I'm going to take them. It's MY right, I'm their mother" BLECH!!) So a few years ago he put his foot down and said that if she hadn't taken them by the time they graduated that he was going to take them and too bad if she didn't like it! (neener neener :p ) Well, obviously, she never got off her cheap *** and took them - so we get the joy of introducing the boys to Disney! :Pinkbounc
Of course, my being a travel agent and major Disney fan had NOTHING to do with making sure DH kept his promise to the boys (snicker;) )
Will have to browse through these 10 pages and see who else is there that week!
Waiting for 20 Sep with baited breath!

Someone else will have to answer WHY green but I will tell you that you can go to Home Depot and go to the Paint section. Look for a display that has Disney Behr brand paint. They have samples that are actually shaped like Mickey heads!! Get the "Alien Green" if they have it. If not, get something that is close to Lime Green.
We got plenty of them at the local store by us. All ready for our stay from 9/12 to 9/21. (Notice how 12 and 21 are the same with numbers reveresed?)

I'm taking my sister for her first trip to WDW! I'm not sure how she got be 40 years old and never got to go WDW. So we are going remedy that oversight Sept 17-24. I took advantage of the FTP for her room and am still hoping to re-book my room under AP rates (now who's in Fantasyland?) I decided to stay at All-Star Movies since I think the theming will be lots fun for a "first-timer."
