It is safe to say Mr. Brady has a staff that shops and cooks for him now.

Mike.

Ryan has been in the program since he was a toddler, 6 years or so, it helps that he can go in a pool by himself now and we feel safe. when Steven hangs with Ryan, they will be a pair, Ryan is tall for his age........

This April anniversary connection is pretty amazing.

well 1 week to go and packing to do.......

DisneyForLife - Congrats on 24 in October. Seems like a long time HUH? I want to go swimming.

KC - Steven is alreeady looking forward to meeting Ryan. I hope they hit it off but at that age they normally do. - Mike

Meesh - You might want to do a general post asking any recent travelers who flew Jet Blue if they had a port check-in. Just a thought. I hate the idea that you need to re-check your bags.

Yes I suppose I could do that- ask around. I dunno I guess it would be so much better for me to check them in at port...technically I won't even have to go in the airport I can just take off for the afternoon. I dunno, I guess either way wont' matter it will be just plain miserable just to come home! LOL

What is the difference in dining rotation? I mean, why do some people prefer different or certain rotations? Does it just predict where you'll be on certain nights? I am gonna call disney after I take care of a bomb at work that I am on hold for (not my day here) and find out if they can tell me my rot.

As far as I am concerned as long as I eat I am happy happy!!! :teeth:

Meesh..

When I called back a week ago, they said they could not tell me.. but Mike got the info somehow. and I care about eating, not the rotation anyway so I dropped it. Yes the check in at the port/airport will S*ck..

Mike..

Ryan and Steven should get along, all the activites that they both are into, plus if they swim like fishes together and go down the slide a couple of hundred times..

well back to work.. I'll try to check back in on Sunday.. BUSY day tomorrow..

I couldn't believe all the post. I thought everyone had left for
the cruise already. I'm not receiving notifications anymore,
so I checked and I'm checked to get them. After today only 2
more working days. I can't wait. I'm sooooooooo excited. The
really nice thing for me is usually the last two days before my
vacation my bosses are giving me so much work, but this time 2
of my 5 bosses are gone also. Yeah, so next Mon. & Tues. should
be quiet for me and then we leave on Wed., May 5. Yeah!! I
can't wait!!

I had to share this since you were talking about fish...

I bought Kerrin a snorkel set the other day and told her she could practice in the tub. Well, last night she got it all sized for her head and took it to the bath. She was putting things on the bottom of the tub and going underwater to see them and pick them up and trying to breathe out of it it was so funny.

I was on the other side of the curtain and I called to her and apparantly she was underwater cuz all I heard was her breathing out of that tube! LOL

Meesh - I needed to know my dining rotation so I could make my massage and Palo reservations with the REAS package. I did not want it to conflict with other items that are rotation based such as the character breakfast. - Mike

I am now closing in on my breaking point. I have been running ragged with work. Traveling 3-4 days per week since January. This week I was out three days. Monday I leave for Chicago until Thursday, drive home Thursday afternoon and get home Thursday night, PACK for the cruise, leave FRIDAY morning for the Airport and finally arrive in the PORT at about 6pm FRIDAY night.... I am so looking forward to NO LAPTOPS, NO CELL PHONES, no Communication with those saps stuck on dry land...for at least 7 days anyway...

I can't wait to set sail.....

:o Well good evening to all on this gloomy Sunday from Miss Mass...it is raining (again) outside...this weather makes the days SOOO much longer!! :(

I have managed this weekend to not only find time to finish packing, but also to unpack the rest of my moving things...AND pack for my trip. I have no idea how but I know I am laboring...I am so exhausted right now its taking all I have to sit and type. I am for sure hitting the sack quite early tonight. I have been non-stop all weekend. Got the phone jack fixed in my spare (pc) room and managed to connect to the internet for the first time since I've moved...UHHH now I am GLUED!!

So, I have packed. I think I've got almost everything except the daily things (toothpaste, toothbrush, etc). DD had softball today and the team took their pics...I am now assistant coach...so I got my team after all..YAY for me!!

Anyhow, I hope you are all doing ok this w/e. Hopefully you guys out there in CA got some sun?? It would be nice to get some here but I wont be complaining cuz I'm not complaining about the heat....yet!!

:smooth:

Just wanted to give a quick hello...gotta go get DD ready for bed...SOPRANOS are on tonight WHOOOHOOOO!!

ROCK ON!!!!! :earseek:

I have to work through Wednesday - 2 1/2 more days - and then I took Thursday off for packing. I was hoping to actually get most of it done this weekend, but somehow I didn't even manage to start!

I just called and booked our excursions - another thing I'd been meaning to do for awhile now. We were able to get everything that we wanted. The daytime schooner trip in Key West, the Island Tour and Snorkle with Stingrays in Grand Cayman and the Ocean View Explorer Tour in Cozumel. DH and I are also going on the Walking and Kayak Nature Adventure on CC while the kids are at Scuttle's Cove. Now I just have to find out if it's too late to order some baskets from Shirley.

I can't believe it is less than a week away!

Well, thank you for your thoughtful words everyone!
Just seems that when it rains it pours ya know?

Anyhow, no tie for me but thats ok I can do without.

The sneakers I didnt' like that I'd REordered...well, they are not coming in either....but you only live once, so i opened the ones that I had originally ordered ($100 each pair) and decided I was gonna wear those. I will wait til I come back from vaca to decide whether I will keep the pair that is still in the mail system.

And, I never got a pair of sandals (shoe finatic over here) so I will be barefoot most of the cruise. No i'm kidding...I never got the white pair I was hoping to find.... boohoo not the end of the world.

If that was the worse thing that has happened to me all week I would be doing cartwheels....

Oh yes Meesh, I am with you on that one. I detest flying. I white knuckle it all the way. I was at the Dr's the other day and came this close to asking for some valium. I didn't because I don't really like taking any kind of pills so I will have to have a few :drinking1 at the airport to get me on the plane.

I would much rather drive down but it takes 23 hours and less than 4 hours to fly.

I hate flying too...most of the time I would just make myself fall asleep before take off and with any luck I would be sleeping right up until landing time (I did that from NY to Ca once!) but this time I have my 4 year old with me and she made me promise not to fall asleep so I will be awake the whole time...I know my friend who is flying with me got something for her 14 year old to take before we go, Britt doesn't want to fly at all!

No rude people - I agree.

Your extended weather forecast brought to you by CAMICKEY (I'm only the messenger). BTW - We went to CA yesterday and were able to walk right onto TOT (Not suppose to open until the 5th but happened to notice people mulling around the entrance and decided to give it a shot). It seems better than the one at WDW but its been awhile since I rode that one. What a thrill ride!!! I guess you can say this is our "land portion" of our vacation. I'm not big on flying as well. My Dad and brother both passed away in aircraft accidents (not commercial airliners). I just try to grin and bear it and over the years I have gotten a little better. They really are safer than driving a car but it's just the thought that when driving, I have some control. So much to do - So little time. - Mike

Weather update - 30 % chance of possible Thunderstorms now in Key West

Port Canaveral - May 8th - Partly Cloudy - High of 83 Low of 65 - 10% chance of precipitation.

Key West - May 9th - Isolated T-Storms - High of 82 Low of 75 - 30% chance of precipitation

Day at Sea - May 10th

George Town, Cayman Islands - May 11th Scattered Thunderstorms - High of 88 Low of 77 - 50% chance of precipitation

Cozumel - May 12th - Partly Cloudy - High of 90 Low of 74 - 20% chance of precipitation.

Thanks Mike for the weather update. My husband had just sent
me the same info and I yelled at him (like he had control of the
weather, so I won't yell at you, LOL). Let's hope it gets better by
next week.

We leave tomorrow at about 6AM for the airport. We have been
planning and planning and planning. And guess what I'm still not
totally done planning. I'll probably be up all night - but I usually
am. I'm a 54 year old adult and the night before leaving for
WDW or a cruise (this is only the 2nd), I can't sleep. I'm like a
child at Christmas time.

I HOPE NOT. - Will post another weather forecast tomorrow. If you have not started packing - Now is a good time. Can't wait to meet all of you. - Mike

KC - I just decided to take Thursday afternoon off as well. If we are pretty much packed, we are going to CA (California Adventure) for a couple of hours after Steven gets out of Kindergarten (11:30). He is really hyped now to meet Ryan and the other guys as well. It is going to be an awesome trip.

Bossladypu, I feel the same way about everything Disney. That is why I love these boards. We all understand each others addictions. There are not too many people I can talk to about Disney without them looking at me like I have two heads. And nobody understands why I would want to go on the Disneycruise without my kids. Little do they know what they are missing.

Safe travels to everyone in these next few days.

Hi Everybody!,
Hearty Thanks to Camickey for pointing out the thread! Me, DW, DD1,DD2, DM, DMIL,will be joining all of you on board the Magic next week! I am "already there" mentally!
When is the DIS party? We'd love to attend. Last Nov 1st I hosted a DIS party for all DVCers in the North Texas area and it was great! Big turnout about 60 total and I'm guessing with a little cruise concept mixed in this could be awesome!

Good morning/afternoon everyone!!
I am having a fabulous day knowing I only have approx 4 more hours of work WHOOHOO and not much at all to do.

I came in late this am, went to the salon...whoohooo...I am more than ready to go. I had an urge on the way in to work and stopped to have my belly button pierced...that sounds SOOOO funny...I just couldnt' help myself...hopefully the salt water will heal it well!!

I picked up a few international phone cards on the way in also. The friggin things are 1.50 per min from Mexico! UGH! I am sending them back. I am gonna call this company that I heard has good rates and you can call from the bahamas too. Its called a global access card. I dunno. Whatever, like I want to check back in and hear the bad news from the locals..NOT!!

Well, I am all packed just a few minor things to throw in. I am very excited and just got word from my friends in florida that they haven't forgotten I am flying in tomorrow.

Thanks for the weather update Mike, I am sending pixie dust to the skies for a change in the forcast!! ((pouting))

Safe travels to all of you I got a rush of anxiety this am when I saw a plane overhead. I know they say its safer but just like someone said earlier...it is frightening not to have control over the plane. At least in my car I can control the wheel.

Almost there....just counting down. See you all REAL soon!

Hi MEESH,

I had my belly button pierced 11 weeks ago (I had been thinking about it for a while, and finally decided to go for it!:earseek:) and I'm still in the healing process. Your piercer probably told you this already, but if you're swimming in Salt water, make sure you rinse it with fresh water afterwards (salt is very very drying, which is why we only use a little to clean with). If it dries out too much, it can start to hurt, and I wouldn't want anything to ruin your trip!

Hope that helps

Meesh, do you really need to stay in touch with that many people, hey will see them in about 10 days, they can manage, the most important of your contacts will be sailing with you...

KC- no realistically folks can wait...I think they'd be a bit more at ease if I'd just let them know once or twice throughout the week that all was well. I guess folks and I can discuss that tonight.

KAT- Well, I had it done this am. I had been contemplating for awhile and now that the summers here and jeans won't always get in the way, I took it upon myself to get it done. It is a little dry now and I was told not to touch it with anything but a q tip and some saline wash (like you use for contacts). Other than that they said salt water will help it to heal faster, but to try and avoid the pool (cuz of bacteria and germs) UGH. I was given a few ideas on if I decided to go to the pool just take a few extra precautions. Its a little dry right now but of course I just need to take care of it!

Anyhow, all is well and the sun is shining BRIGHT although it can't be that far above 50 degrees outside...its rather brisk!

Talk to you all soon. Of course I'll check at least 1 x again b4 departure!

Well, yes, funny! The hole poking pain only lasts for a minute...and I am not a freak who actually enjoys this type of thing either! Although I do have a coupla tattoos, I am learning the places to and not to put them in order not to regret getting them when I age! LOL...I am thinking I may not get any more!

The plane ride on the other hand, well, it doesn't compare...I can always change my mind at the last minute and decide NOT to pierce, or take it out afterwards...there is no jumping off the plane!! LOL

Thanks all about the new weather forecast. I will try to be more optimistic in the future. LOL - The forum is really lighting up all over on these 2005 cruises. I was hoping for a 7/16/05 date but they do not even list it on their site. Oh well. - Mike

Good luck trying to book yours Mike.

Well last night my 4 year old daughter tells me that her ear hurts...I wasn't sure if she was making it up so I figured I would take her to the Dr....well she has a major ear infection and is now on antibiotics for it.....I then call my friend who is traveling with us on the cruise at work and she tells me she had her legs waxed the day before and now she has hives on her leg..she goes to the Dr and she has a bunch of infections in the hair follicles and is on antibiotics....what a way to begin a vacation!! I have to get my daughters medicine in powder form and then mix it myself on the ship otherwise I have to carry a cooler with me! I have had enough stress for one day!!
On another note....does anyone know if the spa starts taking reservations upon boarding...last cruise was on the magic and I had to wait until 1pm....I want to be sure to get a bunch of spa appointments and I know my friend wants to book a bunch too....

We are all getting in our last posts. Can you believe it, after all those months of planning.

It is only 8am here, so I still have one more day. A few more errands, pack, and then we're off.

Safe travels to all. (I am already starting to hyperventilate thinking about getting on that plane :scared: )

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Camickey, who cares about the weather? I do not, my motto is; "A rainy day on vacation always beats a sunny day at work." Seriously, I, like you , always look for the 90% chance of sun, etc. when watching the weather.

I just returned from a meeting in Miami and boy did I get a taste for the tropics. I love palm trees.

Well, I hope everyone has great travels and gets to port safely. See you all there, I will be the one with the newly-bought, mostly-blue, very-loud Mickey Hawaiian shirt and foo foo drink at the pool. Go ahead, just see if you can find me amoung all the other passangers loudly dressed. Pack tonight, fly to FLA tomorrow, board the Magic Saturday, no more plans after that........:jumping1:

I have a few things to get together once I get my daughter off to preschool tomorrow morning. I pick her up at 11:30 and th e limo will be here at 1pm. I have to go through all her medicines and make sure all is packed and snacks for her on the plane. I also have a few more things to pack...nothing like waiting until the last minute huh!! I had the suitcases all packed a week ago but then there is always last minute things to add!

I took off of work today so I could stay home and pack... and I still don't feel ready! In about 5 hours we leave for the airport. Maybe I should go to bed now! Whatever is not packed, I guess we don't really need it. I just need to make our Mickey head nametags for the DIS meet and then maybe I can sleep. We were at Home Depot at 7:30 am picking up more Mickey heads today!

Safe travels everyone. See you soon!

I've been laying awake since 4am and finally decided to just get up after laying there for a n hour and a half my mind racing and not being able to fall back asleep!! This is why I fly in a day early, at least maybe I will be so tired tonight I will get a good sleep at the Radisson and be wide awake for boarding day!

Boy, after a long day of traveling, planes, rental cars, hotels and every other obstacle we have finally arrived at the RADISSON and enjoyed the hot tub for a minute....They checked us into the wrong room, other than what was reserved....so they moved us to a two room suite with a great shower and HUGE jacuzzi tub...kids have already enjoyed that...

Morning will be here before I know it and then it's off to the MAGIC!!! Cheers and see everyone there...

Waaaahh! Its over....how fast was that just a blink of the eye...

Soooo many great things to say and would like to chat about all the great people I met and just a thing or two I did not like but will have to get to bed we spent 10am til 530pm in the orlando airport with a grouchy six yr old and boy was it traumatizing (ok I mean for me)

It's been fun.....and I just can't resist this one!! Please people...dont' get your kids hair braided.....it was more painful for me to watch the little girls cry in pain than it was for me to get my own done...and with peircings and tattoos I have to say I'd rather be getting that done than braiding...>MAN did it hurt!!

Bye for now!!

All I have to say about the cruise is WOW. We had a great time and my DD and DS have said "Daddy, thank you for taking us on this wonderful vacation" at least 10 times a day, everyday. DW also loved the cruise and her suprise "extra" birthday/Mother's day present.

I searched and searched for any of you all who were having the Dis meet at the pool on Saturday to no avail. I even asked around on our Captain Marvin's Diving With the Stingrays excursion in Grand Cayman. I was very disapointed I never got to meet anyone of you but, hey, thanks for all the information and fun leading up to the cruise.

Here is something I found very odd about the cruise. I ate a LARGE breakfast everyday, big lunch, dinner and goodies after, went to Sessions for a couple of nightcaps (they had my favorite local beer, Yeungling, on tap), and had snacks everynight. The odd thing is that I actually lost a pound and a half and I never even thought of doing my normal run and or weightlifting. Is it the sea air? I took the time before leaving to write my weight down and checked threee different times and I actually lost 1 and 1/2 pounds.

Now I am sad because I have nothing left to count down to. We will probably not do anything Disney for the next two years and I am sad. There is always the pictures and video that I can drive DW, DD and DS mad with. Hey let's cue it up.... Later

We missed you GoofyGuy! We were at the pool most of the afternoon on Saturday and also made it to the DIS meet on Monday. We asked around for you, but ppl get a little offended when you go up to them and ask "are you goofyguy?" ;)

I'm doing my official weigh in tomorrow morning (never rely on nighttime weights!) I'm not hopeful that I've lost 1 1/2 pounds!

Sorry we missed you!

It was a pleasure meeting all of you. Even the 7 day cruise seemed to go to fast. Getting caught up at work now. Things should be back to normal by next week. We are already planning our cruise for next year - Alas not a Disney one as I wanted to do an ALaska one. RIght now we are looking at the NCL Star for Jul 10th 2005. Hope all of you are rested, relaxed, and have some great memories. It was our pleasure meeting all of you and it made it nice when walking on board to actually know someone. - Mike

I just wanted to send some pixie dust to Katdb and her mom. Hope your mom is on her way to recovery from her injury! I hope you get to take your 7-day Eastern cruise soon. At least you have that to look forward to. Thanks for organizing the DIS meet for us. It was nice to meet some of the people who have been posting here. It was nice seeing friendly faces around the ship too.

We really enjoyed our cruise, although there was too much to do! Next time we will have to make more time for just relaxing. My daughter was one of the kids picked from the audience to be one of the seven dwarfs for the Golden Mickey show. She really liked that (although my son was jealous)! The kids were so excited I had to remind them to pay attention in school and not talk about their vacation all day!

Our biggest surprise when we got back was that gas had gone up about $.16 per gallon while we were gone. It has continued to rise and is now at about $2.15 per gallon. Eek!

Take care everyone!

msh8675
05-19-2004, 08:14 PM
WOW on the gas price increase.....I put 20.00 in my tank this morning and it barely gave me 1/2 a tank...so prices can't be good. If I look at the price it makes me sick so I dont' bother anymore....hopefully one day I will fill it and go WOW thats CHEAP!!!

Does anyone know exactly what happened to make us turn around on the way to Mexico? Rumor has it it was appendicitis (sp) Just curious!!

Was a pleasure getting to meet you all, even though we didnt' spend much time together. Kerrin turned around a few times and said, "Hey, Mom..we know them!" and that put a smile on!

Take care everyone! We probably won't be doing another Disney cruise if at all not anytime soon but I hope to travel again next year at this time!

Hey Meesh,

So funny how we ended up with disboards tablemates on our first cruise!

I didn't forget about the photos that I will scan in for you. Hopefully I will get to that in the next couple of days.

I can't believe it's over!

Tell Kerrin Todd and I said "Hi"!

The people were sitting at a table next to my family, who had the person that the boat had to turn around for. I didn't pry into their business. But when we went to dinner that night the lady was sitting at the table crying and saying they had to take her dad back to Grand Cayman since he kept passing out, 3 or 4 times that day. I heard her talking again on the breakfast of our last day and he was still in Grand Cayman, they didn't know what was wrong. He was soon to be transferred to the states. He was just constantly passing out I guess.

My husband and I had such a great cruise. I'm so glad I
got to meet a lot of people. Then we kept running into
people all week, that was great. I can't believe the
vacation is over either. We did book for this Dec. 5 on a
4-day cruise with our two older granddaughters.

The bad part was I burnt my lips really, really bad. I'm
still in pain. And when we got home on Sunday, May 16
we found out that the head of our Department of Chemistry
had passed away in a car accident (he was only 49). I
work in the same office with his wife. I still cannot believe
it. Then yesterday I get the dreaded phone call every
parent or grandparent fears - your grandchild has just been
taken to the hospital. She has been diagnosed with a
really severe case of Cellulitis. She was totally out of it
yesterday, but we stopped by this morning and she is
still sick and hurting but at least she knew who we were
today.

Well again, I really enjoyed meeting all of you.

LMBO!! OH, I'm sorry I did not get to meet more people and spend more time with the ones I did meet. DD ran me ragged! I had fun but it would have been great to chat with new people.
I am sorry we didn't get to meet fireguy...although I bet we probably saw eachother once or twice and don't even realize it.
I am glad everyone had fun.

Oh and I forgot to say, I had a Disboard table mate Queenofthecastle...quite strange out of the thousands of people on that cruise....what a blast it was!!

Bosslady, I'm sorry about your tragedy. My heart goes out to you.
I hope your grandaughter gets better soon. I will send some pixie dust your way!!

Thank you guys for your concern. When she got released about two days later she broke out in SEVERE hives. They found out she is now allergic to penicillin. It his June 2 and she still has hives. If it's not one thing it's another.

But I'm finally relaxed enough that maybe I can start planning for our Dec. 4-day cruise where I'm taking two of my grand-daughters. I'd take all three but I can't afford a bigger room or two rooms. Disney really makes it hard for people with 3 kids.
