Someone just asked me that yesterday here at work....
I think I heard something to the effect of...."....(gasp) you've NEVER seen the LOVE BOAT?!?!?!?? "

Does this answer your question! Yes I am a lost soul in the Love Boat world!! WAAAAh :(

Leave it to Beaver was on the other night and I had no idea what I was watching....my friend was in awe...

I watched Lassie!! (that was black and white....) does that count for anything??? Something???

CAMICKEY
04-22-2004, 04:04 PM
AH Black and White. I remember getting our first black and white TV in the late 50's. Just fascinating. When color came out, we could not afford one until the mid 60's. Oh the memories. - Mike

msh8675
04-22-2004, 04:21 PM
I think I had a black and white 12 inch TV in my bedroom once that only got 3 channels...does that count?

Well, I am chewing a big peice of sour grape gum, surfing the web with a kinked neck (ouch-literally), and wondering why every time I look at the clock it says the same thing.....420 pm!!! darn why is that????

Madness I tell ya!!!
::yes::

04-22-2004, 04:31 PM
Now I am wondering why my neck has a kink in it....it's not very comfortable...
I feel like singing a song...this thread is getting a little dreary...and given the weather is so friggin beautiful i think we need to spice it up...
Its a beautiful day is on the radio....I dunno know who sings it...(I must be too young) but it goes something like this...
"she's on the road, but she's got no destination....something something can't type that fast....it's been all over...and its' been all over you......it's a beautiful day..dont' let it get away...its a beautiful day..(oh i love this next part) whooooohooooohoooo! "

Anyone??? Bueller?!?!

I LOVE PINK!!

Did anyone catch the Sopranos this week? I missed the episode ...I am bummed, hafta watch it on in demand....
Is anyone out there a Sopranos fan???

I plan to arrive by about noontime (what are your opinions on that..too early?? too late??)

So...what time was the meet cuz I know it will be a bit before we are settled and familiar...I plan to get lost on that ship at least a dozen times a day...LOL

I heard something about the drill...before the drill...something something....I just figured if I spent my WHOLE day by the pool , that I would be bound to spot a dude in a Hawaiin shirt with some bitty PINK spots on it....and a bunch of lime green mickeys on drunk people with kids running around!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Ok, pinched nerve anyone? This kink has given me a migraine...like the brain freeze kind you get when you drink a slurpee too fast.
I wanted a damn slurpee today from BJ's and the stoopit machine was broke...HOW DARE THOSE PEOPLE DEPRIVE ME OF MY CHERRY SLURPEE!!!!

Well, I leave at 5 so this may be my last post (453ET)....g'nite to all b/c I have no home right now my stoopit house is being deleaded so I have no pc either...cannot chat anymore til tomorrow....its a catch 22 I know cuz i enjoy chatting but I dread coming to work but I hafta be here to chat...waaah boohooo :(

Anyhow, I am gonna jump on the 3 highways on my half hour ride home and pop open the sunroof and fly like an eagle all the way home enjoying the crap 2 hours or less I have of daylight and sun...

bye bye then :wave2:

You may want to get there a little earlier if you want to be one of the first people on the ship. 11:30 or so. Sorry about your Slurpie - How dare they deprive you. How did you get a pinched nerve? reading too many posts? Did I mention to you that I was going to be selling Hawaian shirts at the entrance to the Port??? - Mike

Hi Mike, we have a 24ft class C RV. We started in a tent, tried two different pop-ups and now have the RV. It has a slide out so it is a perfect size for travelling with plenty of room inside when camping. It takes us about 23 hours to get to Orlando and we usually only stop one night. On the way home though we sometimes take two nights and stop at an RV park in Maryland that has a bus line running into DC. We enjoy spending the day seeing the sights. We love having the RV because it is just so convenient having your home on wheels.

Our plan right now is to be at the Mickey Pool for the kid Dis meet.

BTW, anyone out there traveling with out kids? We'll just be two adults...oh, and anyone plan on doing any scuba diving?

Where are all of our other cruisers????

Mike - we're out here reading your posts and being entertained! Usually I check the posts during my lunch hour at work and get a quick fix of dreaming about the cruise before I have to go back to work again.

We plan on being at the Mickey pool whenever we can get there. We just have to try to get Palo ressies and sign the kids into the club. My kids (DS5 and DD5) will be anxious to get in the pool and I'm afraid it will be too crowded for the rest of the cruise. We will have our lime green mickeys (from Home Depot and the drink if we can find one!);)

Is anyone going to be wearing there lime green Mickey's in the terminal? I thought I would and maybe we would see some people before we board. We don't have children, so was the Mickey pool meet just for people with kids, I know we're planning on meeting on Mon. for sure.

The Mickey pool meet is for anyone who wants to come. :) We usually dress our kids in their suits with clothes over and upon boarding head for the pool. I will try to remember to wear my lime green DIS shirt that day :) I do come and go here and there....Dh stays with the kids in the pool while I go check them into the clubs, or I leave and check on our room and drag luggage in, etc etc. Or I'll go and get lunch from the buffet that my kids won't eat anyway because they are too busy going down the Mickey slide!

Hi all, just getting my Dis fix here before I go to work.

We are staying at the Radisson on the 7th and I am going to wear my Mickey head there and in the terminal. I don't want to miss the opportunity to meet all you wonderful people.
And of course the Mickey pool dis meet is for anyone who wants to go. My children are older and will not be with me but my friends DD6 will be with us. I am actually sailing with some friends so my husband will not be with me either.

It is so hectic that first day on deck 9 but it will be nice to at least stop by and say Hi and put a face to all these Dis names.

PS my friend is now calling me "Julie" because I did all the legwork for this trip (okay, now you all have an idea of my age haha)
No complaints here though, I loved every minute of it.

Two weeks from today we leave :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

The Mickey pool was chosen because the kids will want to be in it.. BossLady.. no kids no problem, please feel free to come around to meet. Me I'll be in a PAPD hat..

probably watching DS go up and down the pool slide five hundred times or so....

Good morning all! Enjoying my french vanilla ice coffee from dunkin donuts and just scoffed a warm blueberry muffin with globs of butter... hope everyone is enjoying their day.. WHOOHOO its friday, wow! One day closer.

The forecast is miserable here in Southeastern MA, its rainy and cloudy and not very warm.

I love music and I can't seem to work, drive, eat, live without it. Unfortunately the only station I get plays dreary softie love music which is kinda the mood I'm in today but I was hoping for something to wake me up!!

CAMICKEY: you are what?? selling hawaiin shirts? Well, I dont' have one...I was gonna look for some kinda sundress that had some funky flowas or sumpthin...i dunno......i think we should all buy Hawaiin leis to wear around our neck....PINK ONES YAHOOO!! lol
:Pinkbounc ok enuff with the pink heehee ;)
Well, I will try to get there asap, but I have to count on someone else cuz I dont' have a ride.....no transfers on that day cuz I am flying in a coupla days before. :smooth:
Those stoopit slurpie people really let me down yesterday! :(
I have no friggin idea about the pinched nerve. I was in a pretty bad accident when I was pregnant with my daughter 7 years ago and I've not been right since. I was a little nervous yesterday cuz I was having dizzy spells...but I assume it was from lack of nutrition. Did not have much time yesterday to get a good meal in. My neck gets so bad sometimes I have numbness in my face. I took 2 advils yesterday and it went away for awhile...but today its right back...I think I need a chiro visit! HEEELP!! :tilt:

KC22-OMG, I have someone to talk to the Sopranos about!! I am a Soprano-psycho!! LOL :earseek: Anyhow, aren't you gonna tell me what happened this week?? I do admit things have been rather slow this season...but I am anxious to know how they are gonna kill off Chrissy's girlfriend (the rat)...did you know she is off the show this season? Yup, thats what I heard. And to think Tony almost did his nephew in all b/c of her...IMGINE!! Anyhow, give me some juice will ya?

I am skipping the comment on the Julie thing cuz like i said before I am clueless!!

BOSSLADYPU: I will wear my green mickey in the terminal just for you...no really I think that was what the plan was. Possibly we will find some of ourselves to talk to to make the time pass quicker while waiting in line...although I've heard it goes by pretty fast.

Looking forward to meeting you all...I have to go hunt down some type of pain relief...

Take care everyone!!

Sopranos rundown..

half the show was about Tony meeting his dad's mistress..

1/4 was JUnior looking through the OBITS to go to any funeral so he could get out of house arrest.

1/4 was Chrissy and his "pal" from rehab.. only good part (well Junior was pretty funny)

Christopher was at an rehab meeting, his friend (sponsor/confidant) was there (the guy from Nip/Tuck). Anyway the guy is a big health nut these days, but gets the itch to gamble, Chris sets him up at one of the gangs card games, and the friend loses a bundle.. Chrissy pays the tab for him, with interest and penalties.. time comes to pay up, friend does not have it so Chrissy and muscle whack him around pretty well. The friend goes back to drugs/drinking.. and he turns to Chrissy...

Ironic..:earseek:

OK people - Making me write a lot are you. Well here it goes. - Mike

DisneyForLife - Nice RV - We just do not have any room to park one but really enjoy our pop-up. We have got it down to around 12 minutes to set it up(Although we normally pull out a cool one and take our time). And yes it is nice having a home on wheels. We do a lot of 2 nighters out here in CA. When we bought ours, we could have got the slide out - sometimes we regret it - other times not - as there are only 3 of us. The bay window over the sink\stovetop does extend out providing us about 2 additional feet by the dinette. I laugh when I see Colemans specifications - Sleeps 9. LOL. Of course the beach campgrounds are our most popular. Have you ever stayed at FW before? For the trip down and back, does only 1 person drive or do you switch off? BTW - Glad to meet you "Julie"

Queenofthecastle - We will not be doing a land portion this time around. We get enough of DL and CA with our AP's to keep us happy between our trips to WDW (next trip will be when DS6 gets to be 48 inches). I hope you have a wonderful time there as there is so much to do.

PoohFan2004 - I'm glad you are at lest entertained. It takes a lot of time to come up with some of this entertaining stuff you know. LOL. What are the names of your children (if you do not mind)? Our DS6 is named Steven and KC's son is named Ryan. I would like to know just to familiarize Steven with some of the names of the children who will be in the Kids club with him.

TChrist05 - Kids out of the Nest finally huh? My DW and I did a lot of traveling before DS6 came along (Greece, Jamaica, Hawaii, Europe Mexico), . We enjoyed those times but we also enjoy having DS6 and the experiences he has brought us. We still want to go to the South Pacific and Alaska in the future. I myself would love to drive from here in CA up to Alaska and camp along the way. This would at least be a 30 day vacation and that would never happen where I work currently. Oh well - semi-retirement not to far off. Or maybe the Lotto!!!

KC22 - Yes those were the days. You are showing your age as well my friend. I could ask everyone what year they graduated from high school. Oh well - 1973 for me. I am not a Sopranos fan but many of my friends are. I really have not watched it yet but it sure sounds like it gets people hooked easily (I think that is why I have not watched it yet). As for the Hawaian shirst, I have contracted a 7/11 store 2.3 miles from the port to display them. Just take the first street to the left and after a mile take a right. When you come to the big sign take a right and then you will see the 7/11. Tell them Mike sent you. LOL. - Can anyone tell I'm Irish (Oh the Blarney). LOL

bossladypu - From your monikor , there is no way I am messing with you lady. I'll do whatever you say LOL. If I remember, I will put on my Lime Green Mickey before we get to the terminal. We plan on getting the first DCL bus from MCO as we are staying at the Hyatt the night before. That should put us at the termial around 11:00 or 11:15 I would imagine. If I do not see you on Saturday, hope to see you at the meet on Monday. Four Children and 8 grandchildren - congrats to you. How did you do it? We only have one and it takes all of our energy!!!!!!!!

ohiominnie - We'll probably all be in shorts (as well as other appropriately placed items - got a little rowdy last time) but will have DS6's swimsuit in our carryon for a quick-change. We might eat lunch first, then see if we can get in our cabin, and then go to the pool. If we can not get into our cabin, then we will be to the pool earlier and do the "come-and-go" routine. I'm thinking between 1:30 and 2:00 for us.

msh8675 - Hope you were able to get your slurpie fix today. LOL . I do have the beaded Leis, but we only bring those out when we have a pool party so I won't be bringing them with me. I know you will be dissapointed but for the good news, I have found a Mickey\Goofy tie (Yes it is colorful but there is no way I am mentioning what colors. As for the weather what can I say. I will be laying out for the next week getting tanned. - Low 80's during the day and low 60's during the night. Summer is almost here Yea. Wish some of this weather would move East your way for your enjoyment!!!. Instead of the advil, try a Vicodin, works much better. Just joking. Doctor have me on them for a year and I finally said - Hey just fix the problem instead of having me live with the pain. Glad to be off those things. Hope your neck feels better today.

Hope I did not miss anyone. - Regards - Mike

DS Ryan will have his swimsuit in our carry on, when we get to the boat hopefully after lunch buffet (we'll both change)

Mike, what time is the DCL bus from MCO?? Our plane arrives on that morning at 10:12 Maybe we will be on the same bus!

OH, my vicoden, I think those and percocets make me somewhat sick and a little itchy. I don't know how people use those things like candy. I have Ibuprofin 800 which tends to decrease swelling (more so in my head ;) ) and takes away a bit of the pain, but as I said I cannot go in my house as its being deleaded and unfortunately did not plan to 1/ be out of my house QUITE this long and 2/ plan on having a pain in the neck, let alone the butt!!

YOU FOUND A WHAT? Oh good for you, can't wait to see the beautiful shades of pink! LOL
The Sopranos Oh I am hooked. I missed the first season(s) and have had multiple discs from Netflix sitting on the TV in my unoccupied house and have yet to watch ALL of them. But I am definately a big fan. BADABING!!!

As for the birthdays....no disrespect (please) but I was negative 2 in 1973. I was born in 1975 and graduated high school OMG it sounds like forever ago....in 1993..sheesh I am getting up there!! :earseek:

No slurpeez for me today...:( Yes I am sad but I will get over it. I am too cold for slurpee today. I feel like I just ran through the puddles on a cold November rain and I don't have heat! :crazy2:

Oh what a boring :bored: friggin day it is today and I have done enough work for the day!! Its only going on 130, UGH :badpc: 3 1/2 hours to go!!! waaaah!!! Whats a girl to do?! :confused3
Take a nap perhaps!!?

There was a huge fire a coupla nights ago and I am still trying to catch up on sleep. A house exploded a street over from where I am staying and the house was blazing all night, even killed 1 young man. It was very tragic and 22 people (6 family) have been left without a home. I haven't been able to sleep very well in someone elses bed as it is...nevermind with all the trauma in my city!! BLEHK!! :space: someone beam me up!!

Well, I guess I've said enuff for now....we have to keep this going cuz this is the only thing that passes my/our time (not to speak for anyone else, but....) :rolleyes1

Gosh - Am I really the oldest one here. I really feel
ancient now. But I can say I was very fortunate to grow up in the
60's and 70's. Not much of a brain left but the memories I will
never forget (the ones I can remember LOL). - Mike

Nope, my husband and I are older then you. I remember from a
previous post you said something about being 51 or 53 (I think).
We're both 54. We were married in 69 and are definitely "Flower
Power" children. Wait until you see my husband (long hair and
beard). He's an odd combination - very conservative (nothing like
he was in the 60-70's), but has long hair. Also my youngest child
was born in 1975. So look for two hippies at the terminal, LOL.
I really long for the "old days".

bossladypu - Now I feel young again. LOL I'm only 48. Talk about long hair - Mine was down to the middle of my back when I was younger. Much shorter now, but as soon as I get out of this job - who knows. I really do miss those days. You really can not explain it but have to live through it to understand. Thank you KC22, Disney has a way of making my husband and I
feel like children. And don't laugh if you see an old woman
getting her picture taken with characters. I know I embarrass
my husband sometimes when we're at WDW because I'll get in line
to get my picture taken with a character. I love showing the
pictures of me and the characters to my grandkids - they love it.
I'm trying to take my two oldest grand-daughters on a 4-day
cruise in Nov-Dec., but haven't gotten my husband talked into it
yet.

Hope everyone has a great weekend...and we will talk on monday when I myself will only have 8 days left.

Alibi

A guy was sitting quietly reading his paper when his wife walked up behind him and whacked him on the head with a magazine.

"What was that for?" he asked.

"That was for the piece of paper in your pants pocket with the name Mary Lou written on it," she replied.

"Two weeks ago when I went to the races, Mary Lou was the name of one of the horses I bet on," he explained.

"Oh honey, I'm sorry," she said. "I should have known there was a good explanation."

Three days later he was watching a ballgame on TV when she walked up and hit him in the head again, this time with the iron skillet, which knocked him out cold. When he came to, he asked, "What the hell was that for?"

She replied, "Your horse called."

I can't wait to get on the airplane, because I have just GOT to stop shopping for this trip! Lucky for me we leave in 7 days (a week at WDW first). Almost had a heart attack when I went to our local DisneyStore, just to find out they were closing their doors in a couple of days (didn't want to renew their lease), and didn't have any more Disney Dollars. Had to make a 30 minute detour to the next closest store. I had really been hoping that a Character Warehouse would show up here before the trip, but no luck with that either...

Hi everyone, been a couple of days since I had a chance to sit and read the boards -- work and life keep on getting in the way. For those counting, add another Pennsylvania family to the list. Hey, bosslady, you think you get strange looks waiting to get a picture with a charactor? When I was out at Disney Land in November of 2001, I stood in line for 20 minutes to get my picture taken with Goofy Santa. While in line I ahd at least three CMs ask me where my children were. Of the 3 CMs only the older gent could understand and stated, no actually announced to Goofy and the rest of the waiting guests; "ah, here is a big boy who will never grow up." Then I had my picture taken to a round of applause. If I wasn't such a kid at heart I could have been embarrased. :o But I wasn't.:jester: Only two weeks.:thewave:

Well, my daughter is pack and has her things waiting by the door!!! A little early, but everyone's getting very excited. Is most everyone staying at a local hotel the night before? We only live about 4 hours, so we will be driving up. I am loking forward to hopefully meeting some of you. Are an of your daughters dressing up? Last year my daughter, Kaylin, had her Tinkerbell gown for the dinner, but this year she will be Snow White. Also, a neat idea for those of you who did'nt know, but you can bring a t-shirt or a pillowcase and leave it at the desk, and all of the charactors will sign it. Kaylin loved it!

Weather update - Clear with a high of 86 and a low of 54. I even got a little tanning done today while I coached Tball and then later played with DS6. Hope some of this weather heads to all of you as well. DM says its raining in Chicago. Cruise weather should be perfect - Highs in the 80's with lows in the 70's. Just peeeerfect.

Its been awhile since I last posted. Spring sports started (DD - lacrosse and softball; DS - lacrosse and baseball) , kids trying to keep on top of their work before we leave and work has been very busy.

Does anyone have any older children cruising? My DD is 10 and my DS is 15. It would be really nice for them to find someone to hang around with.

My dd is 9 3/4 (that 3/4 is VERY important!) She'll be in the 8-9 group. She's just a tick away from being able to move up to the 10 yr old group, but even so, she doesn't want to. She states "I don't want to hang around with a bunch of girls who talk about make up and boyfriends!" :) So she plans on staying in the 8-9 group. Size wise she's a little petite thing and will fit in better there anyway. :)

Now, a question looking for an AVERAGE response...if everything about your trip is paid for, cruise, airlines, after cruise hotel, except for entertainment, tips and other misc. items how much extra fundage should I plan for, just a guestimate would be good- I was thinking 3000.00 for the 7 day cruise, 1 night hotel prior and 3 days in Orlando for 10 days total. I haven't been in a Tux since I was married, on second thought maybe I shouldn't wear a Tux...

My DW is all giddy about dressing all up and playing fancy for a night, so I am going to humor her and go all out with the tux thing I think...If I can find somewhere to get my measurments. It should be fun...

Then semiformal night, we will do just that- dress (not me wearing it), shirt and tie with Blue jeans...lol

We were supposed to heat it this year to extend our season but other more important things won our money. You know, DCL, two trips to Disneyworld. LOL

Thanks Mike and KC22. So far, my exams seems to have gone well. I have received four of my five marks back, and thus far I have an 89.5 average (I'm hoping the last one will bring it over the 90 for me.

Exams really do eat up a lot of personal time, and a lot of my sanity quota  So look for the crazy person on the cruise and that'll be me!!!

I'm just happy to finally be home. Now onto job hunting and packing for our cruise:Pinkbounc

PizzieDuster - Blue\black Coat, white shirt, Mickey tie, dark slacks, socks and loafers (and underwear of course). DS6 I'm not sure about yet (will need to ask the boss). For semi-formal I'm still pondering.

KC22 - I guess it was Ok it for nothing else to get people talking - but the Love Boat. LOL And Yes, you did post that you liked being called "KC". DOck at Key West and tender at Grand Cayman

fireguy5620 - Make sure you get pictures if you are going to get this dressed up. As far as the expenses, we believe we will spend anywhere from 1200 to 2000 on just the cruise (for 3 persons). Seems like 3000 should be plenty. Lime green mickeys are in the paint department (of all the places to find a lime green Mickey. LOL - I plan on putting some on my suitcase to make it earier to spot as well)

Katdb - Good going on those exams. A good education is so important to getting ahead. Keep up the high marks and hope your 5th mark takes you into the A's.

DisneyForLife - We absolutely love ours as well. We normally heat it from mid May and then keep it on until early October. The biggest cost is initially heating it. When we first bought this house and heated it up the first time ever, our next gas bill was $ 750. I was shocked to say the least. I couldn't believe it so I went and read the meter. Lo and behold, they had read it wrong.- but it still cost about $ 175 to get it up to a good temperature (We like to keep it at - now don't laugh - 82),

Great grades Katdb, I hope you get that 90 average you want.
I'm sure your Mom is proud, I hope my son does as well when he starts college in the fall.

Mike - I am not laughing, I love my pool at 82, although it only gets that high for maybe a week if I'm lucky. I usually have it all to myself because as KC22 says, everyone thinks it's a hot tub. Usually it stays at about 71.
When we do heat it though I don't care what it costs to bring up the temp because for the money we paid to have it put in and the amount of time we get to use it would more than make up for it.

Hey everyone it is almost May 8th, what a wonderful date.

Good Morning everyone...:o
I have been busy catching up on posts for quite a few minutes in between phone calls and such.
Boy have I had an awful morning...locked DD and self out of my car with it RUNNING UGH!! And to top it off it is terrential rain outside...its like a friggin monsoon!! UGH!
Well, finally I can go back home. My house has been being deleaded since April 13th...there was a bad inspecion so I have been living like a hobo since, bouncing to and from friends houses and only stopping in to my house to get the bare necessities...boy am I happy I can finally go home. So, if you are not familiar with the whole deleading process, it now looks like I have just moved in. Every room has EVERYTHING directly in the center of the room in a cluster pile up. So, it looks like for the next few days after work I have my work cut out for me. BLAAAH
Well, I am MISS MASS yaye...never been married. To make my long (sob) story short, I was with someone for 6+ years and we just got engaged in Nov. 2003. In Feb, he decided he wanted out when his sons mother came running back during her divorce. Left DD and myself in the dust. So, currently I am happily and miserably all at the same time picking up the peices and moving on. We own a house together an he kicked us out (dirtbag) so I am working thru a legal battle in which I hope works out in my favor. Unfortunately now for me rent is more than my mortgage was and I am no longer sharing the bills!! Well, funny as it is....she didn't end up with him in the end b/c she is back with her hubby. LOL That was his smack in the face. So...everything happens for a reason I hope to find out what the reason to this was soon!!!
My feet are frozen....from walking/standing in the rain/puddles. BRRRRRrrr. UGh, I am counting down the days.....
:Pinkbounc They couldnt' go by fast enough.
Saturday (bored out of my mind) I wanted to go shopping..so I ran by my (lead) house to get my cruise list I have been working on when I see things here and there (ideas and such) I write them down, then things pop in my head and i jot them down like chicken scratch. Well, I lost my list.....I was so frustrated in the clutter of my house with everything a mess I just couldn't find it. So I did not go shopping. Well, last night I was going thru my duffle bag looking for clothes and I found it. So, unfortunately I wasted a weekend and got NO shopping done but I am thankful I found the list. What could go wrong next?
Someone pray for sun...is there a sun dance we can do? :sunny: Cuz I am MISS MISERABLE in MASS with this weather.

Ice coffee just making me colder...gonna go warm my muffin! LOL

CAIO everyone!

msh8675 - Jeeesh. I want good news, not bad news. Sounds like he got what he deserved if you ask me (Sounds like he needed to be deleaded). Weather here is gorgeous - wish I could send some your way. Expecting a high where I live of 91 (I prefer the mid 80's but am not complaining).

DisneyForLife - There are times when we drop it to 80 and when we have a big party over, we will even put it up to 86 (so the older folks do not get cold). LOL

KC22 - Off the top of my head the MIckey pool is around 82 and the other pools are around the upper 70's to low 80's. When you are in your cabin, one of the TV stations will actually show you the current temps for all of the pools.

Ya know......I did not even remember the Sopranos were ON last night....IMAGINE?!?!?!?! :earseek:
Thanks for the reminder...but now that I can go back home I can watch them BOTH (last week and this week) on IN DEMAND ppv!
Of course by the time I get settled...I may not have the energy...
You may have to help me stay awake tomorrow...you are all good people!! Thanks for the encouragement!!
Yes the house can wait but its hard to be comfortable....oh forget it just tell me to lump out on the couch...LOL That sounds like great fun. Yes I DO I DO need this vacation...but when does anyone NOT need a vacation. I just need a break in the run of the mill same ole' same ole' day ya know...get up, get DD ready for school, eat quick bf, school work, homework, housework, BLAH BLAH I need a break from reality. I think this is my single celebration vacation LOL (celebrating being single again) LOL I think that may be something to celebrate if I really think about it. Had it not been for being separated this vacation would not be. See, and Miss Mass would not be able to meet all you fine people....then no mickey for me!! wahahhh

I now when we use to go jet skiing at the Colorado river by Davis Dam, the water coming out of the Dam was 57 degrees. That felt really nice to me then, but of course the temperature was in the 90's or low 100's. When our pool was 64 yesterday, I put my foot in it and then immediatley went back to my beer and lounger. LOL - Mike

aprilgail2, I hope your daughter gets to feeling better. I have a 5
year old grand-daughter that has graduated from a nebulizer to
a long plastic tube where the inhaler is inserted and she does it
herself. She was 5 days old when I was watching her and she
turned blue. If you could see my grand-daughter you would
know by her coloring that her turning blue is hard to see, but I
saw it. After about 3 months of telling my daughter she was
having colds, they decided she was born with asthma. It is a
scarey thing at times. I'm probably going to bore you guys at the
meet with pictures of my grand-children, LOL.

We are all packed too, except for curling iron, hair dryer, contact

msh8675 - Everyone is awake. I heard you shouting... So what do you get "when you cross a bat and a bell?" BTW - Your DD is just adorable. I hate to be you when she gets to be a teenager.

Weather/Pool and other update - Wow simply amazing - Yesterday it was 101 in the sun and 89 in the shade. Today should be about the same. Due to the bantering of my DW and DS, I have turned on the pool heater this morning. Temp before heating - 67 degrees. I bet it is only up to around 75 when I get home. Maybe I will take a quick dip but DS will be happy when he gets home from school. Wish all of you could be here - We could have a huge Mickey BBQ. Well only 10 more days for us as we leave on Friday. Time is moving too quick but that is only because I need to get so much done at work. That list was sooo long, but i did get quite a bit out of it.

I also realized that 2 or 3 plugs is plenty for me, as long as there is one in the bathroom or by a mirror for the blowdryer!! LOL

I added a whole bunch of other stuff to my list...although I am narrowing it down. I am trying to get my father to lend me his binoculars, even tho I don't have a veranda, I think they will be fun for other things...

And the walkie talkies? Good idea or not. I have a pair of the cheapo two ways? I dunno...i guess it wouldnt' hurt to bring them but between everything else and me being the only adult traveling...the more i can keep home the better...lugging more useless stuff.

I need a water cam. Can't decide if bringing the video camera is worth it. You know you never want to be the one holding the video camera cuz you miss out on the fun. But I thought, it would be cute to have some things on camera, like if DD gets picked to go up on a show or playing with the kids in the pool. I dunno, lots of extra space and stick with the still photos? Opinions please?

I am exhausted today...not enough sleep last night!! boohoo :o

Mike thanks for that list it was very helpful...lots of things that were good to know. ::yes::

Miss Mass signing out for Tuesday...

Talk to you all tomorrow

I'd skip the two way radios. I know some of the big groups use them but unless you have a specific reason you need them, leave the weight behind (not on your behind). Just thought I would throw that one in there for laughs. LOL - Mike

Nah, you won't need the walkie talkies. Where are you going to go? There's only 964 feet. If you separate from whoever you're separating from, just plan a meet time. I'd leave the home.

As for the video camera. Depends on how you're going to use it. Video tape the entire sail away party? Tape all of Golden Mickeys? Tape 18 minutes of sailing out of port?? BORING. Now, tape your dd going down the Mickey slide a couple of times. Tape her skipping along deck 4. Tape a few minutes of her playing in the sand on CC. Now THAT is good video. Nothing worse than having someone say "sit down, let me show you our family video of xyz" and have it be 2 hours of boredom. I like video, but my motto is "less is more." We even have tapes from our early video days that I dread seeing. Oh my gosh, my ENTIRE wedding ceremony is so blasted boring start to finish (don't tell dh I said that) I typically fast forward to the "good parts." Like this reply, video that goes on forever gets boring! ;)

Yaaaaaaawnn!!!:o

I am working off 4 hours sleep so everything is funny right now...

I started packing last night. Well, I am so discombobulated I THINK I started for DD. Put all her clothes in except for the formal wear her luggage is mostly packed. Just now wondering what I forgot. I am so confused! I need more coffee!

So, how is everyone doing today? Congrats to Aprilgail and Goofyguy...WTG!!! (what does that mean exactly!?)

I am leaving work early today. WHOOHOOOO! Going home to wait for DD's furniture to come for her bedroom. Finally she will be able to sleep in her own bed! YAYE! (she hogs the covers and flops her arms and legs at me all night!):Pinkbounc

So...the days are passing and getting closer to meeting all of you. I am looking forward to finding a place (beach, verandah or ANYplace)where for just 1 hour I can lay back with the warm sun shining on my face and hear absolutely NOTHING!!!! No computers beeping, no kids crying, no phones ringing, no dryer buzzer, no doorbell, no people shouting, NOTHING!! Just air! Any suggestions? :sunny:

Have a great day everyone!!

This trip couldn't have come at a better (worse?) time! I am right in the middle of remodeling a house, completely gutted and rebuilt from the 2x4 studs, and we are acting as our own general contractors. Planning/procurment for our elementary schools' Fall Auction, Staff Appreciation week...I could go on...I think I ended up with a little TOO MUCH on my plate this spring!

Hello everyone. Hope the post finds everyone in high spirits and feeling healthy and well. Only 9 days till we fly out on Friday.

Weater/Pool update - 104 yesterday (Tooooooooo Hoooooot) . Pool heater was on but the pool had only got up to 70. Heater cutting off every 35 seconds and re-igniting. Called our "pool guy" (yes I could do it but this guy has been doing it forever at this house and he is not getting any younger and we like him) and he said he will be out on Saturday to fix our heater. Oh well, I'll be swimming by Sunday afternoon if everything goes OK. - Mike

Ohiominnie, have a wonderful time at Disneyworld. See you real soon.

Mike, I LOVE a warm pool but 104 is even too warm for me. I hope it doesn't cost too much to have it fixed. I hate it when these added expenses pop up and there is nothing we can do about it.

Hopefully all thd kids that have been under the weather lately are feeling better. One week to go, they all need to be healthy to go see Mickey.

I am not getting to the boards too much lately. I am trying to get last minute things done at work so I am spending more time there than I usually would. I want to step on the Magic and not even think of work.

AHHHHH!!!!! stepping on the MAGIC......doesn't it sound wonderful?

New question..

I was looking through my documents last night..

Do I have to fill out 1 Bahamas immigration form for each member of my party or one for the family?

Also the cruise documents themselves.. Do I need to fill in travel plans for each cruiser or one per family?

I filled out one for the payment of all ship purchases and who was authorized..

Please send me some direction on this..

Hi KC22
Each guest needs to fill out the docs but of course a parent can sign for a child.
Hope this helps

You only need to fill out one Departure card and Payment Authorization form per stateroom though, as long as you are using only one credit card.

Well, good morning all!! I am drinking the best ice coffee I have tasted in such a long time....mmmm mmm good! Today is a good day when someone at Dunkin Donuts actually decided to LISTEN to you. That just makes my day...being heard!

Anyhow, DD asked how many more days til we leave today and was shocked to hear that it was only 5...her eyes got big and she said "fiiiiiive???" :earseek: We finally got the video from DCL (DVD) since I had given to me TWO vhs tapes and my VCR sh*t the bed! waah. So...we watched it last night DD was in awe the entire time. She has been saying nothing more than "Mommy, I can't wait to bury you in the sand!!" That is very well as long as you dig me out after you take a picture! LOL :hyper:

How is everyone doing? I did a little more packing yesterday...well not exactly packing but the stuff is in a pile I am just waiting for my mother to bring me my luggage as it never made it to my house during my move. I am frantic thinking I am going to forget something. Put aside all our clothes and I said OH darn wait a minute I forgot our formal clothes. Sheesh I am gonna forget something simple. Does anyone bring beach toys? Where the heck will I put them? :sunny:

Well, I got a bunch of stuff to do today, I will be here so someone please amuse me! Have a great day everyone...

I'd better be packed b/c I'm sitting at Dh's office waiting for him to finish so we can gooooooo! Got the well bleached on the way out the door so I think we're good to go.

As for sand toys....if you don't buy them, you'll be tempted to purchase the $15 sand toys on CC. We got a set of 15 or 16 pieces at Walmart for about $4. Figure we can leave them if we want. That will make room for the souveniers.

Well, I was pacing back and forth between rooms and realized all the "summer" clothes we haven't been able to wear yet are packed...but I spaced out the dresses. DUUUH! If you feel the need you may take my picture in the sand...I am hoping that no one is around when this actually takes place. LOL. I'm sure it will be quite the site...:hyper:

Oh, goodness good fellas....an all time favorite!! As a Sopranos fan you must've known I'd get that one... Speaking of...I finally got to see the last episode that I'd missed over the 2 weeks I was homeless! (snicker) It was alright...nothing spectacular like you'd said. I am surprised nothing went on these past few episodes with Chrissy and his GF...that was hot for a week or so...and like I said I'm waiting to see if she gets knocked off like rumor has it. :earseek:

I then found DW, lived to gether for 1 month and we have been together ever since. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage. Every one has its ups and downs especially if you are both fairly independent and my DW is. Have to allow each room to grow and make mistakes - It's part of life. She is however the "Perfect" woman for me. - Mike

Kevin -Oh gosh fuggetabouuwwt!!! I cannot do that again. I never did the soccer coach thing cuz I was always better at watching...but I ignorantly signed Kerrin up for 2 softball teams one year..an instructional baseball league for little ones (she was 5) and the softball team I coach. What a disaster, run here run there...then I have karate 2 nights a week, practice saturdays, gymnastics, swimming...it was way too much. And come to find out my daughter is ultimately happy doing just 1 or 2 things a week.
Coaching softball is definately something I have a hard time giving up...its so fun to see the kids learn from you and they have so much fun learning...I can't get enough of it and I love playing the sport myself....

I like to keep her active and she loves her karate...is itching to become a blackbelt although she has a ways to go. Nevermind coaching all of those things it was chaos just GETTING there. I wouldn't change it for the world either...I try to enjoy every minute as best as possible.

I hope to also use up 90 rolls of film on this trip cuz I want to catch every little moment of her. It stinks to think in a coupla years they will be totally different kids. waaah I dont' even want to grow up nevermind her.

Mike- well my ex is looking for the perfect person....so he will be searching 20 years from now still. Nothing will ever make him happy in HIS words so I know in my heart it truly wasn't me. There is no perfect person...well, maybe at one time, but I guess that depends on what you believe! I think communication is key and if you have that then thats everything!

Meesh - Why did you do that to me???? I just love Ice cream sundaes and banana splits. YUM YUM YUM.

BTW - You do not have to re-check your bags once you get to MCO if you check your bags with the airlines at the port. - Mike

Sheesh you get around! LOL
And I had to scroll down to see if I had asked that ? here too!
Good cuz that gives us the day to do something around the airport....
what is close to the airport I'd like to NOT rent a car if I don't absolutely HAVE to!

I wonder what it would cost to take a cab to like Wet and Wild or something. If I remember correctly (last time I stayed on Intl drive) it was like 1/2 hr. HMmmmmm...decisions decisions!

Meesh - Nothing I know of real close to the airport. What time do you fly out? If its real late, I'd bite it and rent a car and go to MK or US. - Mike

Flying out at 530 so don't really have that long to spend a day....
would have to be at the airport at what 330? Even tho luggage is checked right?

You my dear have a dilemma - Can't advise on this one. You might want to post this in the general forum and I'm sure other people will give you a bunch of ideas. If not I will keep bumping it up. LOL - Mike See you tomorrow

Well after reading the last FOUR pages of posts since i have been here I just realized that I have not even started to fill out my cruise documents!! I will have to get on that this weekend!
I did manage to get a portable nebulizer for my daughter though this week so I don't have to take the big one. My insurance company arranged for a travel one to be delivered to me the day after I called and asked them if they covered it so that was a good thing!

msh8675 <<What a disaster, run here run there...then I have karate 2 nights a week, practice saturdays, gymnastics, swimming...it was way too much. And come to find out my daughter is ultimately happy doing just 1 or 2 things a week.>>

My daughter has Karate 3 nights a week right now but once she goes up one more belt it goes to 4 nights a week. Then its swimming one night a week, Library night time story hour one night and once we are home from the cruise she wants to take some more ice skating lessons so we have a pretty busy schedual here too! She actually has Belt testing for Karate while we are on the cruise so she will get private testing once we get home.
I am really getting excited now, I have 5 more days of work until the cruise! I am rebooking for April 30th whilee I am onboard!

I have to share this! Today in the mail I got a card with $50.00 in Disney Dollars in it. It came from a group of women I came together with on the internet while we were all preganant, we were all due in Nov 99 and we have all had our "November Moms" group since we found out we were pregnant and we are all still in daily contact. They got together and sent me a gift to use on the cruise, I was shocked. They are the best bunch of people...the internet has a bad rap for "weirdo's" but there are some awesome people out there too!

What wonderful ladies and such good friends! And now you all have kids in preschool and starting kindergarten! You know you will have those "November Moms" to always go to when you need to. Sometimes, a friend outside the family and friend circle at home is always a blessing... what a nice gift!

While DS14 and DH were doing homework on the computer, DD5 and DS11 and I had so much fun gathering stuff and talkng about what to pack, when we are leaving, remember the port, remember the last cruise..... it was the so endearing! Watching them get so excited!

I have all our suitcases out - one for each - and my DD5 kept throwing in all her fav stuff animals - and I did not have the heart to tell her - they might not make the trip.... it was just too cute!

The worst thing about this trip is cutting my DD5's hair. I cut 5 inches off today! I had to! Think a brown haired - way back in the days when Nicole Kidman had the long curled hair going! There is no way I want to take 45 minutes every evening to brush out the knots! Seven bottles of No More Tears.... 45 minutes of her screaming ---- ummm NOT! So I cut it and she looks 'different' but I'll get over it ;) The staterooms next to us will be thankful!

It will make sailing much more enjoyable!

Now. If I can just sneak into my DS14's room and buzz his long hair that drives me nuts.... I'll be complete!

Meesh,

got a 5:55 pm flight.. I rented a car at Budget (Port Canaveral), shuttle bus will pick up at the dock, and it was like $57 for the day, we plan to either go to Cape Kennedy space museum or drive back to Disney and do Downtown Disney.. hope that helps..

Ok, the coffee is good again today...no muffin tho, darnit I fugot my muffin...waaaah

The weather is just perfect, short sleeves and jeans and sneaks and I am so cozy....just the kinda weather I could live with every day. So nice! :sunny:

I am having a hard time containing myself. The excitement is just building...I cannot stand it.:hyper: The days can't go by fast enough.

Oh, and I started to fill out my cruise docs and confused myself. I messed up on the Bahamas slip thingys...thought I was filling out mine and I then realized I had written my daughters name...think they'll take it with the scribbles or I'll have to get new ones!?! SHEESH I feel so disconnected!!

I put up 9 of my 14 blinds last night...it looks so different in my house and I finally have privacy. It is very nice. Now the neighbors cannot see right into my living space. It is quite comforting!

I have an appt with a lawyer tomorrow which will determine how much spending $ I am gonna have on my cruise. He will tell me how much money he is gonna suck out of me upfront so I don't lose my house (to the ex). Ohhh, I so deserve this vacation!!

Aprilgail- what belt is your daughter up to? Kerrin has a yellow belt (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kenpo Karate) in mixed martial arts. She has been going for about 6 mos or so and moving right along. All she keeps telling me is how she loves it more than anything else. Oh, and congrats on your gift...I'm sure you wont' have a problem spending it. There are decent people out there...even on the web! ::yes::

KC your flight is at 555 so what time do you think you will need to be back at the airport? I am wondering if I get TO the airport at like 11 or so (give or take) how much time after getting a rental will I actually have before I have to be back...and where would I go? I get lost in my own city!!!

Wishing everyone good health and spirits today and every day!

Good luck with the vampire.. oops lawyer.. easy mistake.

Yeah well about the bahama thing I stoopitly put in my trip info not my day trip to CC info...DUUUH!! flight info and all...tells how much sleep i've gotten lately...scribbles accepted or they'll have to fork over some new ones...I hope the people behind me in line are patient!!

As far as downtown disney, I would end up getting lost somewhere on some interstate and missing my flight...i will have to hire a tour guide. That however would be nice....downtown disney....you are not talking about the whatever island where at midnight every night they have a new years eve party and everything is outside?? Am I thinking of something different...pleasure island? I dunno my trip there without my daughter was a complete blur!!! :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Downtown Disney is right next to Pleasure Island..

yes Pleasure island is the midnight new years eve nightly party place..

any rental car agency would give you a map and specific driving directions..

aprilgail2 - Congrats on the $$$. I hope nobody thinks we are all wierdos. LOL

Meesh - That schedule keeps you pretty busy. I don't think I could keep up with it. We normally have at least one or two nights free during the week.
Also - Why do you have to re-check your bags at MCO. Is Jet Blue not one of the airlines at the Port? If you bought Disney Transfers, AND the airline you are flying (whether you booked airline tickets or not) is represented at the port, you will not have to re-check your bags at the airport. Did I make sense?

KC - How long has Ryan been taking swim classes? Steven has been for about 3 yrs. He really enjoys it. He is small for his age so it is a sport where he can build his confidence in.

Palisa - Congrats on the 17 years. In these days and ages, it is almost a miracle.

Hope I got everyone. Been pretty busy. Time is flying and so much to do. See ya. - Mike

Hi everyone, like Mike says, time is flying, Isn't that always the way, time drags on and you feel like your ahead of the game and then all of a sudden your down to a week and there isn't enough time to finish. Go figure!!! At least that is how it always is for me.

Aprilgail - that was so nice of your November moms to do. Your so right about the bad rap about the people online. But we can prove everyone wrong by your Mom's group and of course all of the wonderful Dis people.

Congrats to all who have celebrated anniversary's recently. Where do the years go, my husband and I will be married 24 years in October. And where are we going in November?
As the saying goes "I'm going to Disneyworld"

One week from today and we will be flying to Orlando. (the only part of this trip I hate by the way)

I bumped into Tom Brady twice at Stop and Shop when he first started with the Pats. Ever since "the money" I think it safe to say we won't be seeing him shopping anytime soon.
