Just got back from a great 7 day Eastern on the Magic (5/3 sailing) and have many compliments about the ship, food, entertainment, cast, crew, etc.

However, one small complaint that I find very frustrating. We purchased the soda mugs since we are all heavy soda drinkers. Unfortunately, the soda fountains at ALL of the bars (Pluto's, Pinnochio's, nightclubs, lounges) were terrible. The sodas were either flat or way to heavy on the syrup. The only bar with decent sodas was Signals since they were pouring from cans. We complained several times but it never seemed to get fixed. Oddly, the sodas we drank in the restaurants was O.K. It seems that a simple adjustment to the fountains would solve the problem. Most fast food joints and quickie-marts manage to keep the mix at the proper level -- why can't DCL?

I know this a minor complaint (well, at $35 a pop maybe not) but it is also an easy fix!

UCK! I hope that is not a common problem, as I am very specific about the way my Coke tastes. Has anyone else experienced this?

During our January western cruise, we found the diet coke from the bar near Mickey's Pool unbearable to drink, barely any flavoring at all. We couldn't drink it.

I said something to the bartender, he took a taste test from the fountain and felt it was fine. We will never participate in the refillable mug/soda program again.

Being a food an bev. manager for a golf club (and hubbie a GM for a steakhouse) I know it's very easy to adjust carbonation levels and syrup levels--they should've fixed the problems!! Hope it's better when we go!!!!

I thought they tasted watered down. Not much flavor or fizz.Maybe they use too much ice.

Just another reason I won't take a chance with the money to purchase the soda mugs. We bring our own mugs and live with what's available at the Deck 9 drink station. I can bear with lemonade and water for a week.

I carry on a 6 pack for a 4 day cruise, the cooler keeps it cool (not frigid) and the nice cabin people keep me in plenty of ice! I carry it around to other places on the ship, and on to CC, too, in a little soft side cooler with lots of ice. Keeps me happy!

We were also on the 5-3 Eastern Cruise and my husband and I thought the soda tasted fine. We were drinking regular Coke, what kind did you try???

Maybe we were just too hot and thirsty to notice the difference. We did get our money's worth and would buy it again on our next cruise.
