Saw "Shrek" last night and loved it. I thought some of you Universal partisans out there might get a kick out of seeing the way the movie takes on some of Disney's classic characters (but only those Disney plucked from the public domain).

I suppose it's possible to read too much into the fact that Dreamworks co-producer Stephen Spielberg is a special consultant to Universal or that co-producer Jeffrey Eisenberg has had a long running feud with Michael Eisner, and truth to tell the ribbing that Disney gets in this movie is all very good-natured and not likely to offend anyone.

Still, the little jibes and in-jokes make this movie a lot of fun for grownups (kids will love it anyway) and anyone who loves the theme park experience. Highly recommended!

You should see Rugrats in Paris. Their Ooey, gooey World is a total slam on Small world! My girls had no idea why mom was laughing so loud!

I would see it, but too many "words" for my son and daughter.. we may try it for adults night out...

I've heard its funny, but the innuendo is too much for my kids...

I just got home from seeing the movie, and there were only 2 bad worlds in the whole thing, well, really only one depending on what context you use the other.
D*mn and a**. And the A** was talking about a donkey. It was a really cute movie that the kids loved!

Loved it!! It was so hilarious!! The spoofing on Disney, WFW, Survivor, and a whole list of others I picked up on. Absolutely one of the best!!

Erinch,

Jeffrey Katzenberg it is. Jeffrey Eisenberg is a perfectly nice guy, who wouldn't think of spoofing anyone. ;)
