DS loves to collect pressed pennies. I like them cause they are realitivly cheap. But what do we do with them?
TIA

The parks now sell pressed penny books! They hold 36 pennies and 6 quarters, and sell for about $6.50!

Same here. Both DS(8) and DD(6) make sure that their books are packed before we leave home and of course we have to stop at every pressed penny machine in the parks.
Has anyone on the DIS board posted a list of pressed penny machine locations yet?

Ohanamom - here is a link to a list: Pressed Coins (http://www.wdwig.com/pennylist.htm)
We keep ours in an Epcot Spaceship Earth model we got as a package gift several years ago. We're still trying to figure out a good way to display them, like a frame or something, without them tarnishing.

We got some magnet tape from a craft store and put a little piece on that back to make them into magnets. Some hardware stores and craft stores now have magnet paint that makes any wall into a magnet. You just put 2-3 coats if this special paint on then you can cover it with any color paint you like and the area is magnetic. Very Fun!!

for the pennies it is 50 cents plus the penny that you want to press.
I think the quarter presses are like 100 plus your quarter to press. (I only get VERY special ones in quarters!):D

You can get a list of the penny/quarter machine locations at each of the parks. Be careful however, they may be out of date. Last year we got a list at MK. We went through the entire park locating the machines and getting the pennies. The list was only about 75% accurate. As we walked around, we marked it up with the up to date information and gave it back to the CM at city hall.
We still need the pennies from the Disney Institute. I know it is only open for spa treatments. Does anyone know if the penny machines are still there?

We have one of the pressed pennies books too, very handy. Wouldn't mind another. I hope they do pressed pennies in Disneyland Paris.

I never thought of putting magnets on them. That's a great idea. I have mine stuck on my wall with poster putty. It works pretty well and I can take them off and put them in the book later if I get tired of having them on the wall.

My boyfriend and I have a printers box...when ever we go somewhere we find something small and put it in there...we have stuff from all over...first dates, favorite resturants etc...we'll probably get a couple and put them there.

We to keep ours in the books from Disney. The book goes in my DD's fanny pack.
I do have to disagree with you on the "realitively cheap" part though. That is how I got sucked in. Now 3 trips later, my DD looks at the list to see what she is missing. The way I figure, our collect will be about $300 if she has her way and gets everything. Than each year there are new ones....
That and pin trading, we better start saving more $$$$:p

Well, we're just back from Disneyland Paris and I didn't see any pressed penny (OK cent ;) ) machines at all. I actually forgot to look for them as we were so busy, but none of us saw any there.

We love them too but have the same question. When you get home why just put them in a box and look at them when you look at vacation pics? My plan is to buy some small magnets from an arts and crafts store, glue them on the back and put the pennies on my fridge. That way we can see them all the time. It should bring a little magic into our kitchen. I said this was my plan. That means I have wanted to do this for months but..... well you know.
