Thought it would be fun to find out why you picked your screen name. Some are obvious, but I'm sure ALL have a story behind them.

I'll start....

I'm "ohiominnie" because my dh found this board first and he picked "ohiomickey" as his screen name....Since we are about as happy a couple as the REAL Mickey and Minnie, I thought I'd follow suit with him. And the "ohio" part is where we are from....

Ball is in your court....who's next???

ohiominnie :p

Uuuuhhhhmmm...this is a tough one. ;)

I used to be "Mare", and got to 1000 posts the day we became DVC members. So, I thought I'd just start over as the "new me"...and got really creative this time with my name. ;)

Mine's my name....very original eh? I really couldn't think of a good user name that would fit me so I just used what I already had. 0

My screen name is also pretty self expalanitory; I live in Alaska and I am a MAJOR Disney fan.

Our family participates in the Yankee Peddler Festival in Canal Fulton (Ohio). My wife and her family have been part of the festival since in started in the 70's. For the first three weekends after Labor Day, I become a colonial town crier, complete with tri-corner hat and bell.

ohiominnie - thanks for the quick email reply - sorry you can't make it I know how kids' schedules can be quite a demand.

Peggy Sue

Not very original here...It's my name! (And, no, It's not Margaret Susan!)

MaryJ
05-24-2001, 07:01 AM
It's just my first name and the first initial of my last name. I picked this one because it's easy to remember!

Easy to explain. Disnydad is the personalized plate on my truck.

Towncrier,
We LOVE Yankee Peddler. We used to go every year! We've probably seen you! :) You were the one with the three cornered hat with Mickey ears, right? ;) The past couple of years things have gotten in the way (a trip to Disney, for one!) so we haven't been able to get up there. We usually find something, or a few somethings, to bring home and decorate with. Everything up there is so unique and well made.

Oh...and the food...I can't even think about THAT right now....I'm still working on burning off the cream-cheese filled french toast from Cinderella's Royal Table from last week!!! (btw, our waitress asked us if there was anything else she could get us, and, jokingly, I said "How about the recipe for the french toast?" She had me write down my name and address and they will send it to me!) :bounce:

Maybe we'll catch you at Yankee Peddler this year!

drusba

Mine is just a normal English word that often describes many things that go on in the world when you think about them. Just reverse the letters.

It's not just a name, it's an occupation.

kamgen
05-24-2001, 08:32 AM
Well, kamgen is pretty easy!

First name is Kamy = kam

Last name is Gennaro = gen

kam + gen = kamgen

Ha Ha Ha!!!:p

mkkim
05-24-2001, 08:50 AM
Well.... I just LOVE the Magic Kingdom (my favorite place to be!) and the obvious.. my first name. :jester:

AMI
05-24-2001, 09:09 AM
My name 'AMI' stands for my first name and the name of my marketing consulting business 'AMI' - which also stands for Advertising & Marketing Insights - get it? Everyone calls me 'AMI' spelled out. All last year I answered my phone 'Hello, AMI, Y2K'. Ok, I'm weird!

DVCKaren
05-24-2001, 09:11 AM
Pretty simple.....DVC because we just bought in and we are excited to be part of the DVC family and Karen, well thats my first name!

05-24-2001, 09:27 AM
"diaman" is a weird spelling for what I do: diamond/jewelry industry.

dia= diamond
man= what I am, a man.

since i'm a disney kind of person, visit my website at www.sunjewelry.com

i'll give everyone a 5% discount on anything they want, just remember to enter the coupon code: DVC

DVC~OKW~96

Not hard to figure out - Name + Home Resort!!

sgtdisney
05-24-2001, 10:15 AM
Mine is a combination of my Initials... SGT and my favorite thing... DISNEY. I get a lot of comments though from people wanting to know if I am a police officer or a seargent of some sort. I have SGT on my licence plates and get the same questions.

mooses41
05-24-2001, 10:28 AM
Mines my aol screen name. I use it for all internet names and stuff so i never forget. Why mooses41?
About 3 years ago when i made the screen name, my son was number 41 on his baseball team and when i was thinking of what to make my screen name i was putting mousse in my hair. Mousse41 would look stupid but i thought 41mooses would be cool. But aol won't let you begin your screen name with a number so naturally i tried mooses41. And the rest is history:jester:

iloveokw
05-24-2001, 10:39 AM
Mine really should be iloveokw&vero :)

Snowgod
05-24-2001, 10:51 AM
.:smooth: :p Mine is a nickname . I am an old Ski and Snowboard instructor. Kids got me a hat that said Ancient Snowgod on it. Nickname stuck. Thankfully, no one calls me Ancient except DW:p :bounce: :pinkbounc

TwirlerGirl
05-24-2001, 11:10 AM
Screen names are so much fun!

For many years I worked as a computer programmer and As/400 Systems Manager in the MD, DC, & VA areas. That was my day job, a lot of hard work and not much fun. On weekends and evenings I worked as a "Baton Twirling Coach" for high level competitive athletes. Like a dancer or gymnastic's coach, I loved the art of it as much as working with the girls. One of my students actually came up with the name when describing herself as a twirler girl and would send me drawing and cards signed "That Twirler Girl". Now I coach professionally full time and decided I was the ultimate "Twirler Girl". It seems our screen names are true reflections on our inner-selfs. LOL

musical2
05-24-2001, 11:22 AM
I use musical2 because my wife and I like to think we are somewhat musical and since there is the two of us.... musical2. It is also part of our Email address. Also I enjoy listening to most types of music, including Disney park music, which plays quite often on my PC at work.

LIDisneyFan

Like AKDisneyFan, I'm a Disney Fan from Long Island.

drusba - I've always wondered - I guess I'm not very observant!

GCM13
05-24-2001, 11:30 AM
Mine is just my initials with the number of kids I have. Just kidding! It's just a number that's easy for me to remember. Not too creative here!

shelbyjosh
05-24-2001, 11:31 AM
My name represents the two most important people in my life...DD Shelby (6) and DS Josh (3). I guess DH should fit in there somewhere, but it didn't sound very good!

Happy Birthday Cat
05-24-2001, 11:50 AM
Happy Birthday Cat is the main character in a childrens' story written by our son. HB Cat is a good guy who fights evil. Perfect for WDW.

wdw4me13
05-24-2001, 12:04 PM
Pretty self explanatory. WDW is the place for me. 13 because wdw4me is usually taken so I just started adding my favorite number to the end of it.

Eck45
05-24-2001, 12:05 PM
"Eck" comes from my last name of Eckmann.

"45" was the number I wore playing Basketball in college.

Hence - "Eck45"

Beth
05-24-2001, 12:07 PM
"Beth"

What does it mean? Guess you'd have to ask my parents! :)

I found these boards back in May, 1998. At that time, I was one of very few "Beth's" on the boards, but it got confusing, because the software didn't require unique names. Once the new software was available, I logged in very early that morning to get the name!

And I agree, LIDisneyFan - I always wondered about "drusba," too!

nydizfan
05-24-2001, 12:12 PM
kind of easy.. I am from new york and i luvs all things disney (most of all dvc ) dave:cool:

Cindy72
05-24-2001, 12:25 PM
Well I love Cinderella and I was born in '72. No great revelation here.

Kris

Geubux
05-24-2001, 12:45 PM
I'm a big fan of Ohio State University football, the buckeyes. Everyone around here says, "Go Bucks!" and thats what my name says, geubux. Really, you can ask my dog, Phideux. (fido)

MaryAnnDVC
05-24-2001, 01:10 PM
I also always wondered about "drusba"! I thought it was "Dru" (first name, when I thought "he" was a "she") and the sba were initials for some legal title. Now, how ABSURD is THAT! ;)

Geubux...neat name!

Macnjac87
05-24-2001, 01:54 PM
Well, our last name is McMahon, and dh's nickname is Mac; my name is Jackie and my nickname is Jac, and we were married in 1987; hence Macnjac87!!:)

buckylarue
05-24-2001, 01:56 PM
Mine's been my online name for a LONG time...since the early '80s, when we got our first Commodore 64 with a 300-baud modem and started logging on to local BBS systems. I was working nights at the time, so I watched a lot of late night television, particularly SNL and SCTV. The 'bucky' comes from Eddie Murphy's Buckwheat sketches on SNL, and the 'larue' from John Candy's character, Johnny LaRue, on SCTV!

KCritter
05-24-2001, 02:33 PM
My brothers always called me Krispy Critter or Critter when I was a kid. I hated it, but when I needed a screen name for something else, Critter was the first thing that popped into my head. Plain old Critter was already taken, so I went with KCritter.

LTGRAMPS
05-24-2001, 02:42 PM
LTGRAMPS : I am an on call Lieutenant of an Engine Co on the local fire dept and the oldest member of the dept. One night on a training drill, my wife brought a couple of the grandkids to watch the old man play with the fire trucks and they kept hollering "Gramp" It stuck with everyone on the dept and they started calling me gramps.

oshun
05-24-2001, 02:43 PM
Mine is oshun because I live near and enjoy watching the Ocean.

gmboy95
05-24-2001, 02:54 PM
My screen name is gmboy95....or Gameboy95....my family elects one person every year to provide entertainment through creative games, and group activities at any family function, starting with thanksgiving....My year was 1995, and my tenure was particularly memorable for all, so I was given the nickname Gameboy.

one_cat
05-24-2001, 03:26 PM
I use one_cat for all my userids when I can get away with it. Makes remembering them easier. I first started using it when I needed a userid for an ISP - I looked around and saw our cat. At the time she was an only cat hence one_cat. The only drawback is that when I am giving out my e-mail address invariably the person will want to write/type 1Cat.

Disney Duo
05-24-2001, 03:29 PM
When I was trying to come up with our screen name, I tried several but they were already taken. So, since my husband and I both love Disney and there were two of us..........I came up with Disney Duo!:p

rbuzzotta
05-24-2001, 03:46 PM
Simple....it's my name!!! I have to keep all my logins the same or I'll lose track of them!! Someday I may become more creative!!!

nuthut
05-24-2001, 04:16 PM
Nuthut is easy. Change the "Bolt" in my last name to "Nut" and change the "house" in my name to "hut".

Strange thing also-I work at a hardware store full of nuts and bolts and nutty people just like me!!

BVC4us
05-24-2001, 04:26 PM
I wanted BWV but it was taken so I took part of Boardwalk BV and part of the vacation club C and it became BVC4us. (there are 4 of us and "for" us)

DisneyMim
05-24-2001, 04:31 PM
Well the Disney part of mine is easy, I love Disney. Mim is what my kids call me. They started this because of the Mom thing, you know when you are someplace (Disney for example) and everyone is calling "MOM", and every woman within earshot turns. They started calling me Mim and the name just stuck. And yes, they call my husband Did. Soooo if any of you are ever at Disney and hear MIM, odds are it will be me!

Raysplus1
05-24-2001, 04:34 PM
Ours comes from our last name Ray and we just had an addition to our family (our son ) when we came up with the name.:jester: :bounce: :pinkbounc

PixieDusting
05-24-2001, 05:10 PM
PixieDusting is also my AOL email acct. When aol added more letters into a screen name a couple of years ago I started fiddling around with variations of PixieDust (which was already taken) since Tink is my favorite character, and voila! It's very fitting since it seems that's I'm always dusting....LOL, and I like to think of myself as a Pixie!

Mine's simple, I figure the world could always use one more Poppins!

RONfromRI
05-24-2001, 06:22 PM
My is also quite simple. I chose it cause my first name is Sammy and I'm from Oregon.

TrudyZ
05-24-2001, 06:42 PM
Not a lot of creativity in mine either. First name plus first initial of maiden name (Zedaker).

Hey, I'm an engineer, not an art major, what did you expect! (;) AMI)

downontheBW
05-24-2001, 07:17 PM
Back when I first thought of buying at BWV (at the point I realized it wasn't just rich people who owned), I heard the song "Under the Boardwalk" and made the connection. So when I was trying to think of a screen name for this forum, the song came to me. "Under the Boardwalk" wasn't appropriate but "Down on the Boardwalk" sounded OK.

Now I hear the song every once in a while on the oldies radio station and it reminds me of WDW. Nice! :p :p

Scarlet
05-24-2001, 07:46 PM
This is a really fun thread!!! Mine is based on my life-long fascination with Scarlett O'Hara (Gone with the Wind). Also our dog's name is Scarlett (a black lab).
Had always hoped to get a 2nd one and name him Rhett!!!

Drusba......I, too, always wondered about your name...
I thought maybe it was Dr. something..... LOL

disvaclub92
05-24-2001, 08:04 PM
Hi - simple - Disney Vacation Club member since 1992.

Jul

spruce
05-24-2001, 08:52 PM
Spruce is the 1st part of my last name. I used to use Nor1Spruce which ment northern spruce. We live in Pa.

lsutigger
05-24-2001, 08:56 PM
lsutigger comes from my favorite college team, LSU whose mascot happens to be a tiger, thus Tigger, who is my favorite Disney character. That way I can get away with wearing all my Tigger clothing to baseball games (our favorite sport)!

Niagara2
05-24-2001, 09:02 PM
We live in Niagara Falls, own company with Niagara in it, DH is a Niagara legislator, our license plate says it. We were originally just Niagara and I lost pass word or boards first crashed, then Niagara1 and another crash and on the cruise last year I couldnot log on and created Niagara2 and it stuck. No Niagara 3 please I might need it some day!! ;)

Geyser Gazer
05-24-2001, 09:10 PM
Fun thread!

When we returned from our first trip at VWL last December I had to come up with a group name for our trip report. Geyser Gazers captured our awestruck expressions when we first explored the magnificent grounds of the Wilderness Lodge.

travelbug
05-24-2001, 10:48 PM
Mine's pretty obvious. I'm a die-hard travel addict. Just send me anywhere, any time, and I'm in my glory! Of course, if you send me to Disney World, I'm in heaven!! ;)

msdis
05-24-2001, 11:26 PM
Msdis- HMMM not really sure why. I guess Miss I no longer am, Mrs. is too formal, Ms lends it self to a little more pizzaz and it sounded bouncy; and dis for obvious reasons. There are so many great names here but after picking mine I felt I had adopted it, so it stayed. I felt self conscious at first that it sounded snobish but I see others who have taken versions of it so I guess it's ok.

PKK/MJK
05-25-2001, 12:30 AM
My name came from a complete lack of creativity. It's my DH's initials (pkk) and my initials (mjk). Why I put my hubby's initials in there I will never know. He hasn't posted one item yet. He does occasionally read the Boards though and seeing his intials makes him feel involved!! LOL!!

Mousefanz
05-25-2001, 07:29 AM
Mousefanz - We love the Mouse!!

;)

PatOKW92
05-25-2001, 07:47 AM
My first name is Pat and I bought at Old Key West in 1992.

ohiominnie
05-25-2001, 07:51 AM
This thread has been SO much fun to read. I never thought I'd hear so many cool stories!! Like I suspected, some of the screen names are self explanatory, but some were not so obvious...but NOW, everytime I see them I'll remember a little bit about you! :)

Where's Richyams? I'm still debating on if it's Rich Yams, or Richy-ams!!!

drusba....TOOO FUNNY!!

Geubux--I feel sorry for your dog, having to have to learn to spell that name! :)

and RONfromRI.....what can I say? I LOL reading your response!!

I've really enjoyed reading ALL the posts and getting to know a little more about you! :)

ohiominnie :p

Beth
05-25-2001, 08:06 AM
His name is Rich Hyams - but I just LOVE it when you guys call him

YAMS

akghutton
05-25-2001, 08:20 AM
My screen name is the first initial of my 9 month old son's, my and my husband' first names respectively and our last name. We bought into DVC in August 1999, just before I found out I was pregnant, so now when we plan our DVC trips, it's as a family:D . Therefore, it seemed appropriate that my screen name be a combination of our new little family!:D :D :D

Minnietta
05-25-2001, 10:49 AM
Actually, Minnietta was my grandmother's name!! :)

Geubux
05-25-2001, 02:23 PM
Actually, the dog is so dumb and can't spell that we just call him buddy.
drusba, I like that one. Never could figure it out. Here phideux, let's pant together. duh!

PoohBear88
05-25-2001, 03:56 PM
PoohBear88 because he's my favorite character and it's my favorite number and because "PoohBear" was already taken,...;)

Dreamfinder2
05-25-2001, 03:59 PM
Gosh, this was such an intriguing thread I just had to weigh in...
Dreamfinder2 for the late, lamented partner of Figment (Dreamfinder 1) in Journey to Imagination. Still one of the catchiest tunes in the annals of Disney attractions.

mzzbuzzlightyear
05-25-2001, 05:49 PM
Hi,

It's so much fun to see everyone's screen name "history".

I am "mzzbuzzlightyear" because I LOVE the Buzzlightyear attraction. Last visit, my 8 year old grandson and I went on 11 times in 1 day! LOL

June:pinkbounc

DVCDAD
05-25-2001, 07:55 PM
DVCDAD because I'm a dad who loves to take his kids to DVC! NOT because I'm the "father of DVC" !

diskat
05-25-2001, 08:47 PM
Diskat - short for disney and first name Kathy:D :D

zurgswife
05-25-2001, 09:19 PM
Mines easy, I'm Zurg's wife. See picture below and you'll understand.

kem330
05-25-2001, 10:19 PM
I confess, I am creatively challenged- plus I was in such a hurry to sign up I just used my aol screen name - kem (my initials) and 330 (March 30 is my b-day) I vote for Drusba as most creative, I honestly thought his name was D. Rusba! LOL!
Karen Manning:jester:

Donald Duck 57
05-26-2001, 09:25 AM
Hi All,
Mine is easy I'm a HUGE donald fan. My nickname is Ducky everyone calls me this at home and work. It's funny to hear the kids say Uncle Ducky at Disney World and see how people react:D The 57 is of course my birthyear.

mistermouse
05-26-2001, 09:58 AM
Mine is mistermouse, wife is mizzmouse, because we homeymooned at WDW 10 years ago (our first trip). We feel like we married you know who at that time as well. 10 years later, we just purchased our first DVC interest!

Rock'n Robin
05-26-2001, 12:51 PM
My first name is Robin...enough said! There are several Robins on the boards already--when I started I used my full name because I was too dumb to change it for a while! When we got back from our trip and I had my trip reports I changed it to Rock'n Robin. People used to sing that when I walked in the room in elementary school and I HATED it! But now I know it's better than "when the red, red Robin comes bob, bob bobbin' along!"
Robin M.

ceejay13
05-26-2001, 02:00 PM
ceejay13

CJ is my nickname and also happens to be the initials of my first and middle names. The 13 because my birthday is November 13. It also is my screen name for my internet account.

Halle
05-26-2001, 03:02 PM
My screen name (Halle) came from a character in one of my families favorite movies The Parent Trap.

webmomom
05-26-2001, 11:31 PM
Mine is; I love working and being on the internet and my grandchildren call me mom mom. When I put the name in some how I forgot the double m so it only has the one m in it.
:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Caskbill
05-27-2001, 09:58 AM
Well, actually mine is fairly simple, and probably very unique. My name is Bill. The rest comes from my former occupation (I retired in 2000), as a design and manufacturing engineer for the largest manufacturer of this product in the U.S. (5000 employees, 7-manufacturing plants around the country, 67 distribution centers, and never a customer complaint!)

If you're still curious, CLICK HERE (http://www.Batesville.com) to go to my company's home page.

bnlbebes
05-27-2001, 12:00 PM
My user name "bnlbebes" can be explained as follows:

1) "bnl" stands for big and little representing me and my wife

2) "bebes" is our pet name for each other

I know, gag, gag, but that's where the name comes from.

Villain Dude
05-27-2001, 03:51 PM
This is really a neat thread..... I use "Villain Dude" b/c
out of all the characters I always like the way the villains look. My favorites are SCAR, SHAN YU, SHERE KHAN, HADES, JAFAR and HOPPER. So now ya know where the Villain part comes from. The Dude part comes from me always wanting to be a cowboy on a "DUDE" ranch.

Chuck;)

turtlekrawl
05-27-2001, 06:07 PM
Let's see...
Turtlekrawl because it's the first place I go when I get to OKW and I know that I'm "home".

Also it's the name of a pretty powerful drink at the Gurgling Suitcase:smooth: !

Jim

Goofy's Mum
05-27-2001, 10:14 PM
Mine's silly, but...

We have a cat (Noah) who we also call Goofy. We have no children, but our cats (4) are our kids, so, I'm Goofy's Mum! My husband is Goofy's Dad!

Guess that leaves out Abigail, Lydia, and Jesse, but that's life!

penguincruiser
05-28-2001, 07:56 AM
This is a fun thread!

The foto in the signature is JJ Penguin, our penguin who goes on all our trips with us. We dress him up and take silly foto's so we don't have to be in the pictures ourselves ;).

http://home.planet.nl/~j.vandelaar/JJ/JJ_Main.html

My screen name is usually JJPenguin, and I used this one here but for some reason I had to get a new one. We were going to go on a Disney Cruise so: penguincruiser!
(the pictures of JJ on the Wonder still have to go on the site)

twinglefam - well, you'd probably never figure this one out.... I have twins and a single child, so we're a family of twingles!! I tried for twinglemom and believe it or not it was taken for the same reason.

The twins are identical girls and look just like my first baby, and by the way, the first was 10 6.5 lbs. at birth and the twins were 6.8 and 7.7 lbs. And I'm not that big a person either!!! I grow 'em healthy. More information than you needed, I know.:D :D :)

Boo
05-28-2001, 08:34 PM
My dad started calling me Boo when I was a baby, and it just stuck with the rest of the family. Now even hubby calls me Boo. Growing up I always thought Boo was better than my real name- Laurie. I hated that name because no one pronounced it correctly. Everyone says it like "Lori" but I'd have to correct them and say it's pronounced it like "Law ree". go figure! Boo's easier!:D

Allthough my name is John, I was never called Jack. Never, until one of my son's coaches kept calling me that. He eventually had every parent on the team calling me that, and it became a family joke to call me "Jack".

After a commando style visit to WDW a few years ago (never again), I was doing research on these boards when the family began to call me Jack Disney.

They were even saying it when they were serious. One day on Main Street at the MK, my daughter asked me, "Hey Jack Disney, did you know about this new store?". The people around us were giving me curious looks.

Grew up in New Jersey around some of the same haunts that Bruce did, so it seemed fitting.

Wow! that's so cool! I was on a dance-twirl team from the time I was 11 until I was 19 and a year out of H.S. !!:teeth:

Rocket Riter, Inc. is the name of my little self-employment corporation. My clients often think I'm advertising the fact that I'm a fast writer (I am). But I actually named it after my dog Rocket, who convinced me to propose to my wife by loving her as much as he loved me.

cheyita
02-08-2004, 04:31 PM
I too have used the same screen name for everything when I first went on line about six years ago - when I only had one child. Her name is Cheyenne and my FIL always called her "Cheyito", but I thought he said "Cheyita." Well, 5 years ago I had a second daughter and now feel bad about only have my first DD represented in my screen names, and started the transformation with my AIM screen name to something that represents me alone. I don't know if I have the heart to take my post tally down to 0 again - my posts are few and far between and it might take me a while to get back over 100!

But maybe I will do it soon. So when you guys see Mtdewchicki, you'll know it was me. And that name comes from my obsession with Mt. Dew and Chickie is my nickname from my hubby, which is a shortened version of my maiden name. Speaking of Mt. Dew, one reason I love staying at DVC rooms is to keep my stock of Mt. Dew since they only sell Coke products on all WDW property.

Johnnie Fedora
02-08-2004, 04:47 PM
For those of you that don't know...Johnnie Fedora is a character in the Disney musical "Make Mine Music" The skit is about true love found, then lost, then found again. It is sung by the Andrews sisters.

This was the "tape of the month" at the time we bought DVC. My oldest daughter was about 3 at the time and we would sing the entire Johnnie and Alice skit-word for word. I can vividly remember her sweet little voice singing so proudly with her daddy. She's a little older now, and when I ask her to sing with me she just gives me the old

Thank goodness she has a little sister.;)

I used to have clipart of Johnnie and Alice, but it disappeared one day.:( I'll have to figure out how to get it back.

If I would change it (hate to lose all my posting too) I would be VGER (V-Ger) after Star Trek's lost ship Voyager but in the 80"s movie, when they found the Voyager the O-Y-and A were missing from the side of the ship and they pronounced it V-Ger. I named my first cat (and only) VGERie Hudson (last name after the dept. store) so if I decide to make the change this will be me.

Maistre Gracey
02-08-2004, 06:01 PM
Master Gracey, is of course the head of household of "The Haunted Mansion".

Maistre is actually the way Master would be spelled during the 'Middle English' period, which coincides with the Gothic period that The Haunted Mansion was modeled after. 'Master Gracey' would indeed have been spelled 'Maistre Gracey'.
Since Disney spells it 'Master', perhaps he lived in The Mansion some years after it was built.... Or, perhaps Disney screwed up, and should have indeed spelled it "Maistre".

Early english, prior to Gothic would be spelled 'Maegester Gracey'.

My name came from Lord of the Rings. It's a big hit at our house. Last summer we had a Disney party with friends who love the mouse. Our invitation stated we were having a Fellowship of the mouse gathering. So when I had to come up with a screen name, my oldest dd helped me come up with the name with that theme. I think the ring bearer part is because I'm the planner.

My name came to me after a REALLY bad day! My boss had ripped me apart at school, and when I tried to log onto this board, I couldn't get on, no matter what I tried. I just burst into tears, put my head down on my computer and sobbed. DH put his arms around me, and said "I've always loved you, Cruella DeVil." 101 Dalmations was playing in theatres at the time, so I just kept the name.;)

Where I am from everyone grew up w/a nickname. I have 2 older brothers-one who was called Trash, the other called Nez.
I started to be called Nezy as I became of the "nickname" age.
It worked that way- where if you had an older brother or sister you inherited some variation of their name.

I figure better " Nezy" than "Trashy".

Dancind

When I signed up, I picked a handle I could remember, same as I've been using for years. Wish I had come up with something more unique and Disney. I danced, competed, taught, and judged (mostly with DH, but I started it first) in C&W and swing dancing for years. Hence "dancin" and "D" for my first name. Not any more, now it's more appropriate to call me "dancermom" but too late! Diana

Well, I've gotten a few questions about my screen name.

I lurked on these boards for quite a while, and saw how some folks just blasted the newbies for asking simple questions.

So I took a screen name that I thought would protect me somewhat....I mean, who wants to flame someone named "Granny"????:p :p :p

Okay, that's not the reason, but I'm liking this story better than the truth! :p

Sitchu was my beloved siamese cat who passed away in 1999. He was very close to me, and when I went online in 1997 all my screen names became sitchu.

I love reading what these names all mean, as I have often wondered as I read! Thanks! Mine is my dh's name and mine...ho hum! But thanks for sharing!
Oh yea, and Buzz and Woody are there because my last name is in the movie.........

Mine means that I'm not very creative. ;) It also means that I believe anything worth posting is worth posting under my own name.

But please don't take that as a comment against those who choose anonynmous names. I do recognize why many people feel the importance of keeping any personal info private on the Internet today.

eva
02-10-2004, 04:34 AM
Eva's just my first name. Not very original I guess. If I remember correctly in the very early days of the DIS most people did use their first name or their first name and an initiial.

I think mine is pretty self explanatory.

Everything I do is for The Love of Disney

I'm always planning our next trip. Talking Disney where ever I go and saving whatever I can.

We definately make memories that last a lifetime.

I don't have a problem using my own name. I generally sign my name after all posts, but I thought it was fun that my name could have a Disney theme to it and thus the name.

When I first saw the boards, I just knew I was Lindarella. It was already taken, so I changed the spelling to Lyndarella. Ocassionally I've had my name mis-spelled as Lynda, so it seems normal to me. I feel that as I get older, more and more of my dreams are coming true and my life is better than I ever expected it to be -- especially the dream of taking frequent trips to WDW, thanks to DVC!

Debbiebones is in honor of my brother, Jimmie who is the keyboard player for "Kid Rock". His stage name is "Jimmie Bones".

He's been playing in rock bands since we were kids and he's finally realizing his dream of success onstage.

I'm pretty proud of him!

Bubbleboy
02-10-2004, 11:32 AM
My username came by accident while watching an episode of Seinfeld with my room mates at the time. Those of you who are Seinfeld fans may recall the episode in which Jerry, Elaine, George and Susan take a trip to an upstate wilderness cabin. On their way to the cabin Jerry stops to visit a sick fan, bubble boy. While visiting, George gets into a fight with the "Bubble Boy" over the correct answer to a Trivial Pursuit question.
While watching this show, I explain to my roommates that when I was a child I had a serious allergic reaction and the doctors couldn't determine what I was reacting to and so I was quarantined to a bubble for a week to detoxify my system. My room mates from that point on called me bubble boy.
Fast forward several years later and I am racking my brain for a cool username. Both my wife and I can't come up with anything exciting and at that very moment a commercial for a new movie by Touchstone Pictures (Disney) called "Bubble Boy" appears on the television. Seeing that the movie has a remote connection to Disney and it was a nickname I had for several years it became my username for the DIS boards, much to my wife’s dismay.

Yours truly,
Bubbleboy

Hey MG,

yeah, it is pretty cool...probably more so because my brother is one of the greatest guys in the world! He has always been a wonderful brother...my kids love their "Uncle Jimmie" and he's the greatest dad to his 12 year old daughter (who btw thinks her dad is like any other dad in the world).

He got where he is strictly on his talents and no one deserves it more than he does :sunny:

Jimmie Bones ROCKS! :cool2:

RoyalCanadian
02-10-2004, 11:08 PM
As for the name RoyalCanadian -- well, I'm a Canadian and have great respect for the Americans who remained loyal to the British Crown during the American Revolution. Their sacrifices and their experiences of some of the most horrific ethnic cleansing on this continent have given me the privilege of living in the greatest country on earth. Many Loyalists served for the Royal cause -- and so I'm RoyalCanadian.

When I signed up, at first I used my real name, then noticed that almost no one else did. In a panic, I switched to a name that I often used in computer role-playing games. As I am a big fan of Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, I like to be a wizard-type character, hence "Erik the Wise".

My actual name is Richard, as I was named after Ricky Nelson. However his given name was Eric, which my mother never knew until I told her a couple years ago. Therefore my name should have been Eric.

Mine is a nickname given to me by a good friend of mine. It was ribbing done in good fun when I built my house in an area (cascade township) which has kind of a "snooty" reputation. I built the smallest house the township allows, live on the only unpaved road in the area, can't afford a housekeeper or nanny, and drive an old car that's paid for--In reality I'm like the ANTI-cupcake!

calypso*a*go-go
02-14-2004, 01:28 AM
I'm a bit embarrassed about my name ... I was at the store buying some "magic" to wash away the gray. The box I picked up was a shade called "Calypso". One of the reasons I was dying my hair was in preparation for Girl Scout Day Camp where I volunteer every year as a leader. We all use camp names and the current theme was "tropical". I thought about my new haircolor and decided to use Calypso as my camp name. When registering for the board, I decided to use Calypso as well but to make it kind of fun and add *a*go-go. So no, I'm not an exotic dancer ... just a stay-at-home mom trying to be hip!

TDC Nala
02-14-2004, 01:35 AM
TDC stands for "Trimobius Disney Cabinet," a satiric sort of group that was actively recruiting on the newsgroup rec.arts.disney.parks some time ago.

I wanted the name of a Lion King character, and there aren't many female ones. My friends think I should have chosen "Shenzi."

Uncleromulus
02-14-2004, 06:13 AM
Mine is sort of a combination between Song of the South, and the TV show "Family Ties". There was a particular episode where Alex is coaching Mallory for her appearance on a High Shool Quiz show.
He asks "Rome was founded by Romulus and--??"
She responds--'Uncle Rhemus??"
So Uncleromulus was born!!
