NYC pin meet, Saturday July 12th!!!!

Hey all,

OK - It's been over a year since our last NYC pin meet!!! The date has been set, and we look forward to a great turnout - let's beat our old record of 65 traders!!.

This time around we will be graced with the presence of the one and only Figgy from Pinpics!!!!!! We look forward to spending some time with her, and give her a huge BIG APPLE welcome!!!!

Here are the details:
Saturday July 12th
1pm until whenever the last pin is traded
Sony Wonder Public Space
55th Street and Madison Avenue
NYC, NY

The Dizkids trade board will be present, and if any new Kidz need to be verified, I can do that for you at the meet!!

You ane I are on the same wavelength. I had been thinking about this myself and looking at the calendar for a date. Now lets just hope that the nice guards at Sony are on duty that day and that they don't give us a hassle about moving a few tables and chairs to suit our needs.

I'd love to come and trade, but staying in the city on a weekend in July is torture! Maybe it will rain on the 12th! LOL!

That DH and I may attend.

We have a family wedding in NJ on the 13th. We'll have to check logistics, and prenuptual partying, before we can commit.

Here's a question -- I know we can find a parking garage by just circling the block a couple times. ;) But any idea on the cost of parking in that area on a weekend? Is this one of those $30 for three hours deals? Any info would help. We need to know if we have to take a second mortgage in order to park our vehicle for the meet. :rolleyes:

Depending on where you have to be in Jersey, you may want to just take a train from there into Penn Station.

Otherwise, you may get lucky and find something on the street. The lots can be relatively inexpensive during the day, but they jack up the prices for evenings.

I agree with Sharon. If we make it up to Manhattan, we will take a train.

I am so excited.... My first NY meet.

As it turns out, I am having abdominal surgery on Wednesday July 9. I am not at all sure that I'll be feeling up to attending a pin meet on Saturday. Besides, I won't be able to lift anything over 5 pounds for a few months......my pin bag ways 10 times that much. It just isn't fair!!!!!!!
