Is the Attic at BWV ever open?

Has anyone ever gotten in the attic? Last time I was at BWV in January 2003, my room was 2 doors down. Work was being done on the attic, along with the renovations of the Boardwalk exterior. I peeked inside the attic and it looked so cool. It has a fantastic view of the lake.

I've asked this question in the past and no one seems to know. When we were there last Sept. they were having a private party in there, we peeped in too, and I agree it looks very inviting! I don't understand why the members don't have access to it. The BCV and WLV have areas similar with the Drawing Room, The Breezeway, and Iron Spike Room. Our home is BWV and I would like to have to option to sit up there and relax, read, and enjoy the view. It would be great on a rainy afternoon!

I absolutely agree. When they first offered BWV, The Attic was offered as a perk for all DVC members, but it has apparently not come to pass. I have asked this question a few times, but to no avail. I recall sometning about a dispute between Disney and DVC about who actually controls it. Maybe someone has more current info, but I have given up on it. :confused:

The Attic was originally supposed to be a gathering place for members to view Illuminations and generally get together. Somehow, it has become a location for private events without any announcement or explanation by DVC or Disney.

It is a great location and, for those who have been able to peek in (myself included), appears to be a wonderful facility.

To bad what might have been has not happened. :(

Sounds like this would be a good question to ask at the BWV annual condo meeting. If I go to the meeting, I will try to remember and ask about it.

There was a wedding reception there a couple of weeks ago and it is the only time I have ever seen any activity in there.

Where is the Attic? How do you get there?

It is on the third floor of BWV. At the very end of the hallway toward Swan and Dolphin. There are a couple small signs when you get close.

The answer could be interesting. I wasn't planning to go to the meeting, even though I'll be in WDW at that time, but this I have to hear!

We had the room next to the Attic in early December 2001. There were quite a few private Christmas parties/wedding receptions during the 10 days we were there. It did look very nice when we peeked in. It never was open to DVC members. :(
