POR in November

We're booked for 10 nights in November at POR. We had looked forward to walking to POFQ and using the pool, etc. But, are now wondering if we should change because of the work being done at POFQ.

We've stayed at all the moderates before and wanted to try POR, but we wonder if the closing of POFQ will lessen some of the enjoyment?

What thoughts do folks have about this? Thanks!

Bump! We had res. for POFQ for Thanksgiving week and are now considering POR instead. We've stayed there before and loved it- still smaller than most moderates and have many small children so we don't want a huge resort. I'm also interested in opinions!

No way will the closure of POFQ lessen your enjoyment of POR. There is tons to do at POR. Of all the resorts I have stayed at POR is my favorite even after the name change:(

Our family of five stayed 10 nights at POR in November of 2001. POFQ was closed then and we didn't really notice if it was opened or closed, other then we couldn't use POFQ pool. The weird thing about the rumors abour POR re-furb is that they were re-furbing the Mansion Buildings at POR during our November 2001 stay. I'm guessing if they are doing any re-furb at POR it would be the AB section, which with 3 kids is the section we stay in ?

I would really like to confirm any re-furb plans because we plan on staying another 10 nights at POR this November.
