Priceline??

Hi,

Has anyone ever Pricelined a hotel to WDW? I have been on the 'Bidding for Travel' website, and they have a listing of hotels in Orlando that you MIGHT get. Did you have a successful bid, and what was it?

Any info appreciated - my children are marching in the afternoon parade on December 29th this year (2 of them!), and I am making my first trip to WDW to see them.

I only have bid on resort level hotels.
I have gotten the Hitlon, Wyndam Palace and Marriott World Center. I have actually gotten the Marriott more than anyplace else.

I find the Bidding for Travel site pretty accurate as to availble hotels. (I have used Priceline other places also). However, you MUST be willing to take any of the hotels in your star level and area. So if you have to be on site, this is not the way to go.

I have used Priceline a few times usually the 2.5* and 3* categories. I have gotten the BW DD, Worldgate Renaisance and the Clarion Maingate. All were fine. I usually do this when I am going up for a few days, not sure I would book longer then 3 or 4 days in those categories. The resort category has mostly nice resorts. Biddingfortravel.com is pretty acurate but hotels can change at any time. On Hotwire you are able to tell the hotel better before acepting the bids, but the rate is usually a little higher.

In the Disney area we have gotten Renaissance Worldgate & Hyatt Orlando through Priceline..recently got Sheraton Safari for this summer.

I have bid for airfare and hotels through priceline and have not had any difficulties. With bidding for hotels this year in Orlando I have gotten the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel and The Hotel Royal Plaza for our trips later this year in December.

I have not used Priceline for Orlando, but did get a great rate on the Hyatt in New Orleans last year. As was stated before, if you are not set on where you would like to stay then this is a good way to go. If you are looking for a specific type of room or hotel then don't do it. I did not want to try Priceline in Orlando because we need a room that will fit 5 and there is a chance of getting stuck with a room that will only accomodate 4.
