Anyone have any news on a Spain Pav. at Epcot? I know a good place for it between Morocco and the International Gateway...

It is supposedly in the works along with other World Showcase attractions including a new parade, and a new major attraction. Look for some kind of announcement in the fall after Mission:Space opens. If Spain is built it will likely go between The Outpost and Italy as this is the largest dead area in the World Showcase.

It will likely be in between Morocco and France. Told that on the Treasures tour. It makes sense geographically, too.

:D It's not that we didn't get it, it's just that some of us are still not thrilled with mentioning that country by name! :p

Rumor has it that the hold-up is centered around a demand by the Spanish sponsors to have a major ride(ala Maelstrom)anchoring the pavilion. Apparantly they want to duplicate Norway's success, which showed a more than 500% jump in american tourism to the fjords following the opening of their wing around world showcase. For whatever reason Disney is not giving in quickly to this demand.

I'm sure they would love to have the sponsers pay for a new Country and an attraction...as we know that Disney is not.
