Passports?

I have a few questions about getting passports.

#1 How long does it take to get them?

#2 Where do you go to get the info?

#3 HOw much do they cost?

Funny you should ask....I was going to find the other Passport thread but I will post here since you asked....

On March 7 we sent away for a passport for my DD. They said it would come back on 5/7.....it actually came to our house on 4/7. We applied at our local County Clerks office and the cost was $95 total.

Then we just sent away for our other DD and DS passports on 4/21 and we were told they would not come back until 25 business days...which really was after our sail date but I didn't care because I had their BC if passports did not come in time. We travel quite a bit so we needed the passports anyway.

Well they came in today's mail......now these ones I applied for at our local post office. The cost was the same.

they say you should expect 6 to 8 weeks turnaround - we just went through this. we're cruising on 5/24 and decided we should get my wife a passport. you can pay extra to get a rush put on it - which we did not wanting to take any chances. it took 2 weeks total - and that included a holdup at the processing office - they phoned us a few days into the processing to tell us we had to send additional documentation. even with the delay they still turned it around very quickly. we were able to put the application in at our town offices - however, there was an extra $30 fee for the township. total cost came to $145 (which didn't include the cost of the pictures).

Posted my thread before I saw yours. It took 3 weeks to get ours in. But, I wouldn't count on them coming in that quickly! Just to be safe!

I got mine in about a week and a half.

It doesn't take as long as they say, from all the experience I've had. Especially right now with the terrorism, they're not as busy apparently and can turn them out quicker. Save the $30 rush fee. You will probably only be a week ahead. If you have 3 weeks to wait that is.

We got ours in 2 weeks. We went to the local couthouse, and the cosst for an adult passport was $85.00. The cost for a child passport was $70.00.
