Air Tran out of Flint, MI

Has anyone here flown Air Tran out of Flint? We're looking at the direct flight to MCO and are wondering about (a) hotels with a park & fly option and (b) how early one needs to get to the airport.

Have flown out of FNT many times. You should arrive 30-40 minutes before flight - really. It is a great small airport. Our last trip we were 90 minutes early because of TSA threat orange, but had baggage checked and checked in in about 5 minutes, spent the rest of the time playing cards in the small bar.

I have never stayed at a hotel near so can't help you there.

Thanks for the reply. I just booked our flight today - we depart FNT at 7:35am and we're a 2 hour drive from Flint, so we'll need to find a hotel to overnight. I have an Entertainment coupon for the Days Inn, and the Holiday Inn near the airport offers a Park & Fly option, so I'll investigate both those options.

I don't know much about the Hotels but I would make sure I was in a secure area. The airport has an economy parking lot for $4.25/day or $25 week, just across from the airport. It may be cheaper to park there?
