does anyone know if the parks are going to let people that have multiday passes in at 7:00am (prior to posted opening time) like they did last year in april. there is info on universal express on this site showing that this was done from 4/1/00 - 9/4/00.

That's great news. Until now everything I had read said that Early Entry was for onsite guests only.

Really? I went on Sunday for USF EE and they were checking room keys. On Monday for IOA EE, they weren't checking keys.

We are staying onsite so we can get ee either way, but I was wondering if the number of people who use ee warrants avoiding the park on its ee day as is recommended at Disney parks. I would guess the number of people using ee would not make a huge difference at Universal and IOA as far as crowds. Is this correct?

I've never seen EE substainally affect crowds. I went for USF EE on Sunday and I think 100-200 people were in the park. IOA EE on Monday had around 200-300 people. Every ride was a walk-on during EE. The parks were not crowded or mobbed at all.

Are there still only a few rides open during EE or is it the whole park?
I have also been told several times by USF rep's that EE is only for onsite guests.

These rides are open during EE:
IOA: Spiderman, Storm Force Acceleratron, all of Seuss Landing
USF: MIB, BTTF, E.T.

As an added note:
Universal currently has NO PLANS to open at 7am in 2001. There are a few choice days that the parks will be opening to EVERYONE at 8am (i.e. Easter Week Mon-Sat), but the 7am thing is gone for good.

Will the park be opening early during Memorial Day weekend? I assume that will be a busy time.

Hi All:
Am I hearing you all correctly? "Anyone" onsite guests or not as long as you have a multiday pass can be admitted to the parks on EE days???
Please clarify this for me. There have been so many different responses.

The official line seems to be early entry for onsite guests only. When I was standing in line for early entry at USF, one guest said that he was staying at the Radisson. The attendant said, "Which Radisson?" So some hotels may qualify for early entry too. I am trying to find out.

Just to reiterate:
Early Entry is for on-site hotel guests (Hard Rock and Portofino) ONLY !!!
There are a few select off-property resorts that, IF BOOKED THROUGH UNIVERSAL VACATIONS DIRECTLY, you may receive a paper voucher also allowing you early entry as well. But you must have the voucher (and surrender it at the turnstiles), and you must have booked your complete vacation package directly through Universal.
