In honor of Mother's Day coming up, what is your favorite memory of being at Disney with your Mom. Or, if you are a Mom, what is your favorite Disney memory with your kids? Or, answer both!!
With my Mom, there are so many. We have been to Disneyland at least 15+ times together. The year Fantasmic premiered, we had no clue what it was about. We tried catching a glimpse of it over on the Mark Twain docks, which was NOT a good vantage point. This is so catty, but this woman was there, and she was saving like 15 seats- we tried squeezing in where she didn't have her stuff strewn all about and everywhere we moved, she would say, "no, not there...that place is saved too." It was literally like she was saving the whole dock! So finally my Mom is disgusted, and in her own, dry, witty kind of way she goes and plunks herself in the corner. The woman said some type of snide comment like "Good, you found a spot," and since all my Mom could see was this woman's rather large frame she said, "Yeah, the view is just spectacular" in the most deadpan, dry way...I know you had to be there, but I had to leave because I was laughing so hard. Usually my Mom is NOT the type to make waves and this was just so out of character for her, I was dying. (I was about 20 or so, so I got the humor). We also had many enjoyable lunches at Casa Mexicana, French Market, and getting many good laughs just people watching.
My favorite memory with my own kids- wow. I think with Sam it would have to be when we took him to DL when he was almost 4. He was so dumbstruck, my chatterbox hardly spoke the entire day. Then we saw the "Club Buzz" show and he was giddy- did all the handmotions, sang along- it was darling. With Josh, we were at WDW and were waiting in this hideous line to meet Minnie. I was tired, hot and getting impatient- the line was NOT even moving for Minnie and friends, and people were flying right by to meet Pooh and Tigger. Well, when we finally get into the room, Josh just squealed and laughed and gave her 10 kisses (he was 20 months). It was so worth the wait!!

My favorite "being a mom" memory is from our trip last August. My eight year old had saved a lot of money to bring on this trip - my dh and I thought too much, but we relented because he did save it to bring on the trip. That aside, my memory goes like this. About day 5 of our 12 day trip we went to see Illuminations . My DD and I were waiting for DS to come back with my nephew and neice. DH was hunting down a beverage. Well, they returned and when Illuminations started he said "Mom, I bought something for you". He then handed me a little bag with a Jiminy Cricket commemorative coin. I'm a JC collector of sorts. I balled!! It was the sweetest thing. Then I turned it over and was shocked. It was $25!! My neice & nephew said he saw it and didn't hesitate. He told them "I don 't care how much it is. I'm buying it for my mom!" It was such an unselfish thing for him to do and it just brought tears to my eyes - and a lot of them!! It really made me feel like I was doing something right in raising him!

Last summer we visited WDW with our 3 DD's(age 9,8 and 14 months). We had just gotten off the Winnie the Pooh ride at MK and had to walk through the strategically placed store to exit. When we entered the store, the baby went berzerk! She squealed with delight and started grabbing as many Poohs as her little hands could hold(It was like a scene from Wonderama!). It gave us such joy to see her yell his name and get sooo excited. Luckily the huge Poohs were up high, otherwise DH would have been suckered into buying it for his little sugar!

Nice thread, I think there might be quite a few tears :)
Last year we were at WDW on Mother's Day and I wore the T-Shirt my then 2 1/2 year old made for me at daycare. It is stamped BEST MOM and has his 2 hand prints on it and there is a really cute picture of us that DH took at All Star Music in front of some bushes. We then went over to OKW to check in and our room was ready and it was a perfect location:D We went to MK that day and I got my pink carnation and then we went to Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner, our first time there. It was a GREAT day!! They had gotten me a massage and french body polish at the Disney Institute which I did a few days later. I wanted to be with my son and husband on Mother's Day:D
My favorite memory with my mom at WDW as when we went in February 94, it was for a business convention with her and we stayed at Port Orleans. She surprised me by upgrading our rental car to a convertible and of course, it rained most of the days:p but we still drove around and with the top down and I just held an umbrella up:D Also, the lady that we shared the room with snoored something awful:mad: and I could not sleep at all and one night I actually went down and sat in the lobby and my mom came walking in around 5 am totally petrified becuase she had no idea where I was LOL. She went out that day to Crossroads Plaza and bought me a Walkman so I could put the earphones on at night. :D
I would love to do another mom & me trip, I think it would be fun especially now that I am a mom. I know I would miss home something awful, but it would mean the world to her!!

My favorite Mom Memory was 5 years ago and the last trip anywhere I was able to take with my mom. We rode the train for the first time just the two of us to WDW and spent 7 wonderful days there. At the time my mom was unable to get around so I used a wheelchair and even today the pictures and memories I have of that time bring many warm smiles to my day. I have some of the nicest pictures of my mother taken on that trip with the characters that will never be able to be repeated and as I said the mother and daughter time we spent will last me my life time. Yes, my mother passed away just two years later unexpectedly so this is the reason why it is such a special trip for me.

My mom memory goes back to May 1986.
My DW and I w/DD went down and took my mother with us.
The day we went to the MK I was able to make a reservation for dinner at King Stephan's Banquet Hall in the castle. Back then costumed characters would make an appearance in the Hall while you where eating. Well about half way thru our meal in come Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. Our DD [along with all the other kids in the place] go nuts and start to get up to run to the characters. An annoucement is made for parents to please keep the children in their seats as Mickey, Minnie, & Goofy will come to them.
Well they wend their way thru the dining room and work their way to our table. Mickey & Minnie proceed to make a fuss over DD [6yo at the time] but Goofy spots my mom and comes up behind her and plants a huge kiss on top of her head. Well I was 46yo at the time and this was the first time I ever saw my mother blush. It was grand.

My favorite Mom Memory at WDW was on our 2nd trip. Only MK was open at that time.
My mom couldn't pass up any of the restrooms... I have never seen someone have to go the bathroom (no, she wasn't sick), so much in my life.
She earned the name "The Official Walt Disney World Bathroom Inspector". I swear she could tell you which ones flushed by themselves, which ones didn't and what colors each were by the time we were ready to go home.
We never let her forget it, either! :p

Before my brother was born I was about 4/5, and my parents wanted to take me to DisneyWorld one last time before my brother would disrupt the 'perfect' family chemistry. My mom was pregnant with him at the time, and I remember her being miserable, but she hung in there and we had a great time. Mom's are so truly wonderful and selfless.
As for my grandmother, it would be the time about 7 years ago when I got her to on Splash Mountain. My brother and mother didn't want to make the journey, but knowing that my grandmother can't say no to me;) I asked her. She loved the ride (except for the drop) and still brings it up to this day.
Happy Mother's Day!!

This isnt really sentimental if thats what you are looking for, but it was very "Disney".
On our last trip we were at Mama Melrose. I looked up at my DM while she was talking to me and she was a Hidden Mickey. There were 2 black plates on the wall behind her, but the wall wasnt directly behind her(like it was across an aisle). She was at just the perfect angle to make herself a HM. It was so funny.

Funny, my mother never said an ugly word to me until I tricked her onto Splash Mtn.! I was old enough not to take it personally.
Once I won a free wkdn at the GF and took my Mom as a guest. We ate at Vic. & Albert's, went to the Christmas Party @ MK and had a ball. It's the most recent memory, but we had great fun on the Gardens of the World tour at EPCOT when I was a CM.

Back many years ago you used to be able to stand on the walls outside Journey Into Imagination and play in the jumping water...My BEST mom memory is my mom standing there with the video camera in tears because she was laughing so hard at my sisters and me getting hit with the water...
before that memory it was when I got to "drive" my indy car while mom pressed the gas...she had more fun watching me than driving the car!
Now we are all going back (me, my 3 sisters, brother, their spouses and the 11 grandchildren and MOM) on October 28th. I am SO hoping to make some more mom memories!

I wasn't there to witness, but 4 of my brothers / sisters still shake their head in amazement that my mother enjoyed Humunga Kowbunga at Typhoon Lagoon - at the age of 63!!! She probably would have done Summit Plummet, but it wasn't built yet. Splash Mountain was her favorite.

When DD was nine, she and I went to WDW. We went to e-night. We decided to go back to the hotel before it was over. As we made our way down Main Street, it was practically deserted. They were playing the usual music that they play on Main Street and I guess DD just got inspired. She started dancing. She danced from one end of the street to the other. It was so adorable! A couple were following us down the street and they got a real kick out of it. I loved it!

Not a sentimental memory but a funny one for our family.
On my Moms first trip, last Oct. we got her to go on Test Track. She honestly didnt know what she was in for and she doesnt really like rides.I was a bit nervous for her to go on but she was willing to try.
When we went out onto the track, she was screaming at the top of her lungs for my DH to please stop driving so fast. I guess she thought DH was controlling the car. Then she kept repeating : "Im dying" over and over! She wasnt too happy when she got off but now we all laugh about it!

My mom and I went to the Magic Kingdom for my 10th birthday way back in 1974. They were just building Space Mountain and still had real E-tickets. I wish I still had my left over tickets! The nicest part of the visit was the fact that my mom let me take the "map" of the kingdom and go on any ride I wanted to go on. She was so impressed that I could navigate my way around at such a young age.
But the best memory of that trip was that I was picked out of the crowd to participate in a parade through Liberty Square and wore a milk maid costume. My mother was afraid I was going to be kidnapped when the CM approached us to ask me to walk in the parade. I think she walked along the side of the parade route to make sure I wasn't going to be snatched.
We been back together, just us girls, about a dozen times after that.
This May I continue the tradition by taking my 2 1/2 year old. I couldn't wait another 8 years for her to turn 10 to introduce her to the Wonderful World of Disney.

I remember my first trip to WDW in 1975 when I was 9. My DM and I were the only ones in the family to ride the tea-cups. My brother and sister were too small and my Dad doesn't do spinning thins. I still remember the two of us spinning and laughing and spinnning and laughing...... it was wonderful!
I have several favorite Mommy moments....but the best was in Typhoon Lagoon.. my youngest DS was 3 1/2 and had just spent 2 hours riding the same tube ride at Ketch-a-Kiddie Creek over and over and over. We finally got him to take a break and eat a hot dog, while he was eating he suddenly looked up and said, "Mommy, this is the best day ever in my whole life!"
I get teary just remembering it!

My mother passed away in February- my priceless memories of the trip we took her on to WDW (her first) in December of 2000 are wonderful to have. DH, Mom and I wore matching lime green WDW 2000 shirts for our MVMCP photo and she had a blast all week. Dear friends of ours went with their mom the same week so we met up daily for a meal or show.
As you can imagine, the photos and video I have from that trip are so dear to me now. The characters would not leave her alone (we had her in a wheelchair to avoid tiring her) so we have numerous photos of her with many characters. At her memorial service 1 of 2 large boards for photographs was covered in Disney photos of her with her dazzling smile.
Everyone, enjoy every moment you have with your loved ones.

My family went in 1984 (my goodness, almost 20 years ago, yikes!). It was my Mom and Dad, my two older brothers (12 and 14), and my 8 year old self.
My mother does not like fast rides. POTC in MK is about as fast as she goes. At the time Epcot and MK were the only parks, and we were there for a week. Towards the end of the trip, after we had been on BTMRR about a dozen times, we talked my mom into going with us for "one last ride". Aparently, she thought that since it didn't look very fast when she was watching from the sidelines, that it might not be too bad. It didn't help that we all told her she'd love it.
Needless to say, she didn't love it. She screamed  the whole way and was VERY upset  that we talked her into it. 19 years later, we still can't talk her into any ride that she isn't 100% about. We all still laugh about it to this day.
We're going back this weekend. It'll be the first time all 5 of us (plus my sister-in-law and my two little nephews) have been back all on the same trip. That '84 vacation was one of the best weeks of my life, and I can't wait to recreate it! I'll report back on the Trip Reports forum. Wish us luck!

My favorite memory was as a daughter and mom at the same time. We had a family trip back in 2000, it was my mom, aunt, grandmother, brother & family and my family. My dd, who had just turned 4, fell in love with the Tapestry of Nations parade. We found the perfect spot to watch the parade, right by Morocco where the one parade would start and the other would finish, so you actually saw 2 parades. We would get there early and sit on this perfect bench, there would be no on walking in front of you and the puppets would all come up to her, it was great. We went 3 nights in a row to this parade. On the last night, there it was my Grandmother, my mom, myself and my dd, 4 generations all together. It was a very special moment. My Grandmother has since passed away, but in Nov 04, my mom will be coming with us to Disney again! Looking forward to more memorable moments....

My first 'Mom' memory was our first trip, in 1972, not too long after the park had opened. We were staying in the Polynesian, and every time I've gone to WDW since, I get the same excited feeling I did then, at 4. Anyway, we're at the MK (of course- it was the only theme park at the time), and I was one of the kids picked out of the audience to be in a show, and I got to dance with Alice in Wonderland. I also remember Chip and Dale being there, so it was rather a stat-studded affair. Anyway, the emcee had all the kids introduce themselves afterwards. He asked our name, how old we were, and where we were from. When he asked me where I came from, I thought about it, and said, "the Polynesian Village". Heck, that's where I'd come from that day, so that's what I said. My Mom, I think, is still laughing about that.
More recently (although by now it's probably about 10 years ago), I remember my Mom, my sister, a cousin or two, and myself riding Space Mountain something like 4 or 5 times in a row. It was pouring down rain, the park was virtually empty, and there was no line... we'd just walk out and walk right back into the tunnel leading up to the boarding area. I've never, before or since, known my Mom to be so coaster happy.

December 2001 - I took my mom to Disney to make up for all the hell she's been through with me and my brother. I'm now 31 and been married for 9 years, Finally I'm making money and I though it was time to give mom a trip. Since I was 13 we where all on our own. Times where tough in the begining but she took care of us and for that matter shes still taking care of my brother (You know the one that just cant get a break right  ). I paid for the whole trip, which made me feel good but the Saturday we arrived was the only day for Spectro so after a nap we head to the MK. After Spectro I turn around and she has tears rolling down her face and I ask her whats wrong and she says it really is magical. I will remember that moment the rest of my life.

My favorite Mom memory happened on New Years Eve 1992 in the MK. We got to the park right as it openned and stayed ALL day, until it closed at 2 am! After midnight, Mom was so tired that she fell asleep on 2 chairs in Tomorrowland while waiting for me to finish my 12 rides on Space Mountain!
What a MOM! I'll always remember that day.....

My favorite "Mom" memory with my Mom is the first time I went to Epcot. Mom and I left my Aunt and Uncles house in Lakeland and didn't come back for 17 hours! My Aunt and Uncle were sure we were lost. We had the best time eating lunch in Mexico and lining up for a treat at the French bakery and shopping till they closed the gates behind us! The best of times. :)
My favorite "Mom" memory with my DD (4 yrs.) is taking her to MK for the first time last year and watching her eyes light up when she saw Cinderella in the celebration show in front of the castle. She asked which room in the castle is Cinderella's!

My favoirte mom memory has to the first time she went on the Rock-n-Roller coaster. She was screaming the whole time "You're o.k. Mary You're o.k) as reassure herself. After that she rode it 7 more times that trip as well as front seat!!!

My best "Mom" moment came after my first trip to Disney with my kids. It was last year. Ever since we came home, my son keeps asking when can we go back? He said, " I just love that feeling that I had in my stomach when we were at the Magic Kingdom. It's such a weird, funny feeling that I can't describe. Do you know that feeling Mom? Have you ever felt it?"
I had tears in my eyes when I explained to him that the funny feeling that he had in his belly in Disney is MAGIC. Pure, simple, pixie dust kind of magicpixiedust:
So you can imagine my excitement at planning a surprise trip for them in just a few months.

my kids first WDW trip was in 2000 ( can't remember the theme?). We were lucky enough to go again in 2001 and the theme that year was "100 years of Magic" My DS who was 8 at the time asked excitedly:
"what's the theme going to be next year" Gotta love it, we've been back 3 more times. My kids are 17 and 14 now and we still talk about our "next WDW vacation";)

Riding Splash Mountain together on our 2005 trip and watching my big kids relaxed and having fun like little kids. They also ALL made fun of me for ducking down and not wanting to get wet. This year, it will be my pleasure to watch my daughter introduce her first child to the magic of Disney as we celebrate her first birthday with Mickey and friends. I get a little misty-eyed even thinking of what it will be like to watch my firstborn and her firstborn as they wave to me from high atop Dumbo. How many Disney dork points does one rack up for getting teary over a flying elephant? Oh well, I am what I am, and being at Disney World with my family is my happiest of happy places to be.

This is a great time for this thread, as I'm taking Mom to Disney next week for a few days of one on one fun.
My favorite memory is from last year, when we did another short one on one trip. I'm quite a bit taller than my mom, so I don't always notice when things are a little too high for her (she's a bit petite). She hadn't stayed at WL for a long time and we booked in for a few nights, right before the renovations, so this was with the old furniture. We went to get into the beds the first night, and the top of the bed was almost waist high on her! She looked at it one way, and then another, and then tried to climb up on it, failed, tried again . . . .by this time we are both laughing hysterically! We finally figured out a way for her to climb on the sideboards safely (she's in her 70's) and get into bed, but we'd sing a chorus of Climb Every Mountain as she did it.

My favorite "Mom" memory is great because it works both ways. The first time I ever took my son, my mom went with us. I had many great trips with my mom when I was young, but being there with her as a grandma was wonderful.
My son was really into dinosaurs and we went in '98 when AK first opened. Of course, his grandma bought him every dinosaur he came across and although he was only 4, he wanted to do something for his grandma.
We had several character breakfasts and while we were at Cape May, he took it upon himself to approach Goofy. He got Goofy to bend down and whispered something in his ear. In a few minutes, all the characters present brought a muffin with a candle in it to our table. They also had a certificate they had signed proclaiming my mom as the greatest grandma at WDW!
Our waitress later told me that my son had told Goofy that his grandma "had sold all her cows and hired a cowboy to watch her farm" so that she could bring him to WDW. She had actually sold some of them, so she would be free to go and not have to worry about them and she did have someone to watch the ones that were left. It's amazing the things little ones pick up on.

I have a lot of really great memories of my Mom at WDW. But one of my favorites took place in 2000, on our first day of vacation. We checked in and went straight to MK for lunch at CP. There was my mom, dh, ds then 10, dd then 5. The terrific waiter we got fell in looooove with my Mom, who is usually very dry and reserved. Every time he went by our table, and I mean "every" time, he sang out strains of "Earth Angel" at the top of his lungs, or stopped to tell her what time he got off work, or winked at her and otherwise flirted shamelessly. It was all in good fun, totally funny, and Mom was blushing and twinkling. We still talk about that great waiter and how captivated he was.

My favorite "Mom" memory began in 1967 when I was still a very small child (well, 3 years, if you must know, LOL!). My Dad had just come back from a tour in Vietnam, and we knew he was going back before long. Since we were stationed at Edwards, he decided to take us on a tour of all the California theme parks, beginning and ending with Disneyland.
I only vaguely remember it myself, but they say that we all got on the Peter Pan ride, and for some reason, my mom completely freaked out - she started grabbing my dad's arm, and was terrified of the dark, couldn't see the floor, etc. :confused3 Dad thought she was going to scare me, then he'd really have his hands full on a kiddy ride with his two females having a fit, but he looked over and I was just totally enthralled with the whole ride, taking it in, and completely ignoring all my mother's carrying on.
Fast forward to 1971 at Magic Kingdom at WDW. It had just opened, and since we were then stationed at McDill, Dad decided to try it again, since Mom knew what to expect....... famous last words! She freaked again, but this time I not only enjoyed the ride, I also enjoyed the side show in the car with me! We had to take her to King Stephens for a cold drink immediately!
We still tease her about it - she's actually the daughter of a test pilot, military brat herself, and has flown in small planes (in the dark) with her father, her DH, her brothers and even ME when I was not very experienced, LOL. You'd think she'd have nerves of iron, and she does when it comes to all the mountains, and even TT and MS. Just not Peter Pan!!!

Although it was teary eyed at the time, my favorite mom memory came from Christmas 05. I was on the college program at the time and was spending my first holiday away from home. A few weeks before the holiday my mom and grandmother came down to visit. One night during their stay we went to MVMCP and watched the fireworks. I'll be home for Christmas was part of the songs the fireworkes were to and my mom and I just held hands and cried knowing we would not be together that christmas. It was heartbreaking at the time, but looking back at it, it was one of the best disney trips ever with my mom and grandmother!

With my mom- Her first trip to the world was August 2005. My favorite memory was rushing to Biergarten for our ADR, we were late. Well Snow White and Dopey were standing there doing a Meet and Greet. There were only about 6 people in line. These are my mom's most favorite characters of all time. I told her to stay put, I ran to BG and said we would be late and told them why. No problem they said. I ran back out there in time to take her picture with both of them. She felt weird at first, not wanting to take an opportunity away from a child but I insisted. She is positively glowing in her pic! That made every penny I spent worth it!
My mommy experience - April 2005 was a spur of the moment tax refund kind of trip. Nothing really planned or scheduled. We were watching Illuminations which is one of our favorite shows and DS6 who was 5 at the time turns to me 1/2 way through the show and says, "Mommy this was the bestest bacation ever!" I cried! That made my day, year, and lifetime!

My favorite Mom moment ever was walking up Main Street 3/26/07 with my DH and 5 month old DS. Just watching his big eyes look all over and soak everything up. Taking a child for the first time no matter what age is a magical moment as a parent. :wizard: On this same trip another teary moment for me was watching DS get his first haircut 4/1/07 at the Mainstreet Barber Shop. Michel, the barber talked me into it...he just cut a long curl on top of DS little head. This is a magical memory for DS, not many people have a set of WDW ears saying my first haircut on them. The pictures are a wonderful memory I will treasure.:cloud9:
Thanks to my wonderful DH  for allowing me to have these precious moments with DS and being a mom.

I have great memories of visiting WDW with my Mom and MIL recently. In 2005 we went with my mom and her dh. We had such a great trip with them and I have great memories of getting mom on Primevil Whirl after telling her it wasnt so bad. Well, she got off of that and could barely walk straight. She ended up bursting a blood vessel in one of her eyes from that ride. Another special memory with her is when she went with me, my dd7 and dd16 to Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast. What a magical time for just the girls to be together and make memories. She is a great mom.
I also have fond memories of our most recent trip in 12/06 with my DMIL. She took all of her kids and grandkids to Disney for the week before Christmas for our Christmas present. We had a terrific time. DMIL has macular degeneration and cant see well at all. Mainly fuzzy shadow type vision. She didnt ride anything the whole week- we just couldnt get her on any ride because she didnt feel comfortable with her bad vision. We finally got her to go on the Safari ride at AK and she loved it, even though she couldnt really see the animals that well. We also had a special breakfast at Ohanas with the whole family of 13! It was a great family time and Mickey even took a special picture with our whole family (and we had it blown up and framed for my MIL). I am blessed to have such a great Mom and MIL!!:cloud9:
Being a mom myself and getting to experience Disney with my own children is PRICELESS. So many great memories have been made over the last 17 1/2 years with my kids:love:

My favorite Mom memory is from our 1973 trip. My mother is deathly afraid of heights. She wouldn't get on the old Skyway for anything so each time my brother and I rode it she would dutifully stand in line with us until we reached the loading dock and then trot along beneath our Skyway car all the way into Fantasyland. She wanted to be able to catch us when we fell!

(Oh, and I have no warm and fuzzy Disney Dad memories. My father paid for his ticket, entered the park, took one look at the mayhem and for two days parked his backside in the Columbia Harbor House with a nice cold iced tea in front of him. He never rode a single ride. To this day we salute Dad everytime we pass the Harbor House.)

I only went to WDW once with my mother, but I definitely have a favorite memory. She invited herself along on what was to be a solo trip, and she tends to sleep very late, so already I was a little grumbly. Then when I asked her about booking a character breakfast, she looked shocked. You see, Mom's a rather staid, up-tight type who doesn't "let her hair down", if you know what I mean. The first day, we were in Epcot WS, when the Character Caravan Bus came around, and the characters got off to mingle. Before I went to see them, I looked around and couldn't find Mom. Figured she'd taken off somewhere else. Suddenly she came running towards me with the biggest grin I've ever seen-"I already got four pictures!" So here's another one we got, as she finally relaxed at WDW:

If you asked my kids their most persistent Mom memory would probably be of me standing over them in the pre-dawn hours, clean clothes in one hand, pop tart in another telling them to move it, move it, move it! I was a major commando in my younger days.

My favorite memory of my mom at Disney was actually during our first trip there. I was only 11, but I completely remember her riding the Teacups. My mom doesn't do spinny rides like that, but she said that ever since Disneyworld opened and she saw people riding the Teacups on The Wonderful World of Disney she had dreamed of actually getting to ride them. It took her 32 years to get there and she felt pretty sick afterwords, but she said it was one of the best rides she had ever been on because it made her dream come true. Our first trip was completely magical because it was a dream come true not only for my sister and I, but for our parents as well.

I have alot of great mom memories at DW but here are my 2 favorites. We had to drive because we couldn't even afford to be in DW but DH took us to GF when it first opened, the children were 4 & 2. I have a wonderful video of my children in the 7 seas lagoon splashing and looking for fish singing Zipadeedooda. You could go into the Lagoon at that time.
The other adorable memory is my son first seeing the EWP and squealing with excitment "Look Mommy there is a monster" I had never seen the EWP and I thought he was just joking around, what a surprise.

My favorite Mommy memory was when I was doing my first college program down at WDW. I hadn't seen my mom for over 2 months and she and my sister took a bus (from PA) to visit me. After I was done working, I ran to the front gate and MK to meet them. When I saw my mom, I was so happy to see her because I missed her so much that I burst into tears. I hugged her and then I saw my twin and I did the same thing. It was wonderful to see my mom and my twin!

I just have to say that I'm tickled this thread was resurrected. I started this one almost 4 years ago! How time flies on the DIS!
Now I get to add that my FAVORITE mom and me memory is yet to come- my mom and dad just bought into DVC this week and are going to let us use it too!
My mom and I went to WDW last May, just the two of us, and we had a MARVELOUS time. We were there on Mother's day and ate at Chefs De France that day for lunch- very special. The flower festival at Epcot was gorgeous, the weather was perfect, and we just really enjoyed ourselves. I will never forget that trip!

For the first almost 10 years of my life I grew up in south Florida (moved to Ohio just before my 10th birthday) and have made many trips over the years, but my best memory of my mom at WDW was the summer of 1998. That was the trip where mom and I (being the required second adult) took her Girl Scout troop from Ohio to WDW. I had to drive almost 7 hours from Virginia where I was living at the time to Ohio, just to turn around and fly to Florida. She and I had a great time just walking around taking everything in while the girls got to go off in their groups. She was never a big ride kind of person, so we did a lot of shows and people watching. We ate at the castle one night for dinner. Mom was so amazed that even the butters were shaped like Mickey Mouse. And of course, she just had to have pictures of that! And of course, that set all the girls off to decide they needed pictures of the butter, too. I can't even imagine what their parents thought when the film got developed and they say Mickey butter! It was just such a special time with my mom, "Mom G" and her group of girls. I was able to get a lot of one on one time with her that I hadn't had in a long time, or since. Mom has since "moved on" to a better place, and the girls are all grown and off on their own (including my little sister that was part of the troop) but I will always remember that trip...
One of my favorite "mommy" moments (I have a couple, but this one is the most moving for me) was just this past August. My DS's preschool closes down the last week of August so the teachers can plan for the next school year. So I decided to take advantage of the time to to a mommy & me trip. Set up for this is one year earlier (August 2005). We were at the World as a family (DH, DS and myself). The day we were at MK, we stood in line over 90 minutes to do the Indy cars. DS was so patient the entire time, not an easy feat for an almost 3 year old! And just as it came time for us te be assigned our cars (DS was going to "drive" with daddy) one of those lovely Florida afternoon storms came rushing in, and they had to stop all the cars and evacuate the loading and line areas. DS was devistated. Instant meltdown! And the storm lasted too long for us to be able to wait it out, because we had meal reservations...so, fast forward to August 2006, the mommy & me trip. We got so lucky in the MK that day. The tropical storm was blowing through (but without the thunder and lightning) so there were hardly any lines all day long. When we got to the Indy cars, he decided he just had to "drive" one (what little boy doesn't?). So we race through the non exsistant line and get in a car. DS doesn't really remember the year before and not being able to ride, but I did. By the end of the ride I had tears of joy running down my face because he finally got his Indy car ride...and he got to drive again another 5 times over the course of the day because there was hardly anyone else in the park!
