Rent or Transfer Question

Hi I'm a DVC member and new to the whole rent/transfer procedure. I have some points left over for this year but not enough to make reservations for 2 studios in OKW in Oct. Should I just go ahead and borrow all that I need from next year (72 total)? Would it be more appropriate to try to get some points transferred from another member from this board (I was thinking around 60 since another couple is involved and could reimburse us) or should I rent? How does it work in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated--I would like to finalize my plans this week. THANKS!!!

Frankly, I'd just borrow them. That way you have no real variables other than if you had to cancel. Second choice would be to transfer them as long as you thoroughly understand the ins and outs. Don't go by what written rules you have for transfers as MS isn't capable of tracking them adequately. You'll also likely need to pay up front before you get the points transferred to your account if you go this way.
