Am I crazy or did I read a post one time that you could make a cake by a cake mix and a can of diet soda and baking according to package?

Anyone? Anyone?

How many points???

TIA

Ok I tried diggin around to find out the answer for you!!! I did see the recipe listed oin the community recipe swap on the Weight Watchers Website!! Well they had it listed as 1 but I find that hard to believe since most cakes the mix itself points out to 3 or4 So I would say take your cake mix and there is a collom of nutritional info for the Mix only!! I would use that and see what i comes out to!! I pointed out two different cake mixes and got 4 points a piece for both of them for the mix only.

I did this once. I was told to use clear drinks like diet 7-Up or diet Sprite with yellow or white cake mixes and the darker ones like diet Coke or diet Pepsi with chocolate. I also added 2 egg whites, which by the time you divide it them by how many servings you slice your cake into that doesn't add any more points.

I just figured out the points for the cake mix based on how many servings it makes and used that. I think the one I made was 3 pts. for 1/12 of the cake. I didn't put any frosting or topping of any kind and it was WONDERFUL.

My SIL made it once for all of us and she spread fat free/sugar free lemon pudding on the top like frosting. Can't remember the points for that but it was very low and tasted great! Ummm, makes me want to make it now!!!

No Clue if this is good or not but this is what I found -

cake mix of your choice

1- 12 oz can diet pop

Mix together and bake according to the directions on the cake mix.

IDEAS: Spice cake mix and diet root beer

White cake mix and diet cherry 7-Up

Chocolate cake mix and diet cherry coke

We learned this in our WW meeting. Use muffin tins and make the mix as muffins. It's easier to split the batter into twelve muffins than to cut the cake into 12 pieces. Did the diet orange soda with vanilla cake mix and it tasted like a creamsicle!!
